HORNER
Mary Leonituk Horner died Sunday, January 21, 2001. She was the widow of Edward J. Horner Sr. and is survived by her sons, Edward J. Horner Jr. and his wife, Anita, and James A. Horner and his wife, Jackie; her daughters, Barbara H. Burton and her husband, Curtis, and Eva H. Gay; her stepchildren, Rosalie H. Carlton, Daisy H. DeRidder and Raymond Horner; her grandchildren, Sharon, Jay, Curtis, Kathy, Drew, Sheila and Scott; her great-grandchildren, Matt, Christopher, Jessie, Melanie, Ryan, Kyle, William, Jordan, Cayman and Jaycie; and numerous stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Her sister, Helen Leonituk; her brother, Pete Leonituk; sister-in-law, Tessie Leonituk; and daughter-in-law, Mildred Horner also survive her. Mary was born January 9, 1909 in Minsk, Russia, came to this country in 1915 and spent most of her life in the Lanexa and Richmond areas. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Lanexa. Her remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, and where funeral services will be conducted 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Kentwood Heights Baptist Church, 2687 New Kent Highway, Quinton, Va. 23141 or the charity of your choice.

HULCHER
Dr. Julius C. "Sonny" Hulcher, 85, of Richmond, died Monday, January 22, 2001. He is survived by his daughter, Betty Mason and her husband, Jim; a son, Chuck Hulcher and his wife, Bradford; four grandchildren, Clay and Sam Hulcher, Katherine and Andy Mason; a sister, Claire McMullan and her husband, Dr. F.H. McMullan, all of Richmond. Dr. Hulcher was a World War II veteran, serving with both the 45th and 83rd, and a physician who practiced 34 years in Richmond until his retirement in 1982. The family will receive friends 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at Westhampton Memorial Park, with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. at River Road United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Virginia, 7700 Parham Rd., Richmond, 23294 or Autism Society of America, Central Virginia Chapter, P.O. Box 29364, Richmond, 23242-0364.

IRBY
Dr. W. Robert Irby, 77, of Richmond, died on Sunday, January 21, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Connaughton Irby; three children, Catherine Irby Wellford, Bonnie Irby Williams, William Robert Irby Jr.; and nine grandchildren, all of Richmond, Va.; one brother, Jethro Hurt Irby, M.D.; and one sister, Annetta Irby Bagwell. A magna cum laude graduate of Hampden-Sydney College, he received his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Virginia. Following military service, he joined the staff at MCV. In 1970 he was promoted to professor of Internal Medicine and was director of the Arthritis Clinic at MCV for 20 years. He was later awarded the Charles W. Thomas Professorship of Internal Medicine. He was appointed to professor emeritus status by the University upon retirement. In 1995, friends and colleagues established the William Robert Irby Professorship of Internal Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology at MCV. The university honored him in 1998 with the Presidential Medallion in recognition of his distinguished service to the University at many levels. He was active in local, state and national committees of the Arthritis Foundation and the recipient of many honors awarded by MCV. Dr. Irby served as president of the Richmond Academy of Medicine, the MCV Foundation and the National Society of Clinical Rheumatologists. Remains rest at Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at St. Stephen's Church on Wednesday, January 24, at 11 a.m. Interment immediately following at Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the MCV Foundation, P.O. Box 980234, Richmond, 23298, St. Stephen's Church or Thomas Palliative Care Unit at MCV, P.O. JACKSON
Helena Taylor Jackson, 82, formerly of Manakin,Va., beloved sister of Thelma T. Jewell Freeman of Richmond, joined her husband, Matt, in death on Thursday, January 18, 2001 in Newark, N.J. Service, Thursday, 11 a.m. Churchman Funeral Home.

JOHNSON
Departed this life January 19, 2001, Mrs. Delores C. "Peewee" Lewis Johnson of 2917 Noble Ave. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Marie Mabry, Annie Mae Tolliver and Jacquelyn Kennedy Jackson; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three sisters, Madames Alice Watson, Zenobia Lewis and Carolyn Terry; four brothers, Joseph Jr., Nathaniel Sr., and Leroy Lewis and Albert Jones; three aunts; one uncle, Nathaniel Hicks; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Scott-Lightfoot Funeral Home, 3021 "N" St. where funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. Rev. Ronnie Hawkins officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. (No viewing.)

JONES
Ada Elizabeth Walker Jones of Chesterfield, widow of Lynn P. Jones, died January 21, 2001. She is survived by her devoted sons, Bobby Lynn and Jackie; daughters-in-law, Suzan and Mary Kay; three grandsons, Jonathan and wife, Tina, David and Jason; three great-grandchildren, Eric, Sierra and Jakob; and several brothers and sisters. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment Dale Memorial Park. Mrs. Jones was retired from Sears after thirty years of service and was captain of her championship high school basketball team in Littleton, N.C. KETRON
Catherine Moore Ketron, 61, of Richmond, Va., went to be with the Lord January 22, 2001. She was preceded in death by her father, W. Stanley Moore. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Billy D. Ketron; two daughters, Tiffany Ernest and her husband, Billy, and Ashley Guyton, all of Richmond; her mother, Nettie A. Moore of Caret, Va.; two sisters, Mary Moore Straughan of Village, Va., and Barbara Moore Dix of Caret, Va.; brother, Archie S. Moore of Caret, Va.; mother-in-law, Opal Ketron of Richmond, Va.; also other family and many wonderful friends. Mrs. Ketron taught the five-year-old Sunday school class at Huguenot Road Baptist Church, she volunteered at The Virginia Home and was an avid bridge player. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2 p.m. at Huguenot Road Baptist Church. Interment Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Huguenot Road Baptist Church.

KREWATCH
Marghuerete B. Krewatch, 87, of Richmond, passed away January 21, 2001. Survivors include her husband, Archie P. Krewatch; her son, Thomas S. Krewatch and his wife, Barbara; two grandchildren, Karen L. Swarbrick, T. Scott Krewatch and his wife, Lesley; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church for over 80 years. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Heights Baptist Church, 3019 Spring Hill Ave., Richmond, Va. 23225.

KRONMEISTER
Flora W. "Janie" Kronmeister, 80, passed away Monday, January 22, 2001. She was the widow of Charles H. Kronmeister. She is survived by two sisters, Marie Bowen and Lucy E. Shires; four brothers, Harry, John, Aubrey and Earl Worsham; two sisters-in-law, Hattie Villemagne and Frances Johnson; and devoted nephew, Charles E. Villemagne. Mrs. Kronmeister was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in Dale Memorial Park.

LANE
Alfred E. Lane Sr. died Sunday, January 21, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Norma Chaplin Lane of Highland Springs; his children, Theresa Swearengin, Virginia Kleinschmidt, Donley L. Lane, Alfred E. Lane Jr., Charleen L. McClellan, Sharon L. Maxey; three stepchildren, Carol K. Cox, Cynthia K. Slaughter and Michael E. Kniceley; a sister, Helen Sneed; and a brother, Lewis Samuel Lane; 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Lane was an Army veteran of the Korean War, commander of the American Legion Post No. 244, Glen Allen, attended the Highland Springs Church of the Nazarene, retired from the Richmond Memorial Hospital and from the State of Virginia. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment private. Clara L. Layne of 3905 E. Chatham Dr. entered eternal rest January 18, 2001. Cherishing her memory are two daughters, Lillian Harrison and Debbie Layne; six grandchildren, Samantha, Nedra, Chante, Marlena, Maulana and Virgilia; four great-grandchildren, Jimytha, Alvonda, Yeimon and Tyanna; three brothers, Earl, Charles and Joseph Lane; six sisters, Josephine Alexander, Carolyn Baptiste, Mary Dickerson, Jerry, Diane and Priscilla; two nephews, one niece, one sister-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends, among them two special friends, Doris Paige and Shirley Sylva. LLOYD
Lucy J. Tomberlin Phelps Lloyd, 85, of Richmond, Va., formerly of northwest Arkansas, died Sunday, January 21, 2001. She was born March 5, 1915 in Ocilla, Ga., the daughter of George Warren and Marie Antonette Richardson Tomberlin. She was the wife of the late Archibald G. Lloyd and is survived by two brothers, Phillip Y. Tomberlin, Jacksonville, Fla., Edgar W. Tomberlin, Panasoffkee, Fla.; three sons, David A. Phelps, Friendswood, Texas, Theodore K. Phelps, Tulsa, Okla., and John H. Phelps, Quinton, Va.; two grandsons, R. Brian Phelps, Millington, Tenn., and Allen K. Phelps, Tulsa, Okla.; a granddaughter, Lucy Amber Marie Phelps, Tulsa, Okla.; and three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Allen K. Phelps and Archibald G. Lloyd. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, January 27, 2001, at the Beggs Funeral Home, Monticello, Fla., with interment at Roseland Cemetery. Ophelia McGee, 89, of Richmond, formerly of Amelia, entered into eternal life, Saturday, January 20, 2001, Richmond, Va. She is survived by sisters, Ola M. Holmes, Richmond, Hattie M. Jefferson, Amelia; many other relatives and friends. Funeral service Wednesday, January 24, Union Branch Baptist Church, Amelia, Dr. Archie German, pastor, Dr. Walter Patrick, eulogist. Burial in church cemetery. Remains rest, V.Y. Scott Funeral Home, Hwy. 360 E., Amelia.

MEADOWS
Irving Green Meadows, 79, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Clara H. Meadows; his daughter, Nancy M. Holder and her husband, T. Michael Holder; granddaughter, Deborah H. Garrett; two great-grandchildren, William Chadwick and Michael Coleman Garrett; two sisters, Colleen Whitt of Felton, Del. and Mary Elizabeth Clanton of Oraville, Calif. His remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday. MUSSELMAN
Mildred Hampton Musselman, 73, of Glen Allen, passed away and resting in peace, January 21, 2001. She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 53 years, Carl P. Musselman; loving and adoring daughter, Carla Paige Musselman of Maitland, Fla.; loving and caring sister, Dolores V. Stanton of Sandston, Va.; also several nieces and nephews. Mildred was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #9808, the Moose Lodge and Lakeside Baptist Church. She had a passion for Genealogy and had documented the family history back to the 1700's, publishing a book of the family tree in 1995. She retired as a Certified Professional Secretary and received many accolades as a Toastmaster. The family will receive friends Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., where services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park.

NICHOLS
Catherine A. Nichols, 73, of Richmond, died Monday, January 22, 2001. She is survived by two sisters, Shirley N. Rose and Gale Johnson; a niece, Valerie Calhoun. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Pattie A. Norton, 91, of Richmond, passed away on January 21, 2001. She was the widow of Henry B. Norton, and is survived by her three children, Patricia N. Lukhard, Linda N. Robinson and Melvin L. Corso; one brother, Pete Wells; one sister, Mary Weaver; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave.

NUNNALLY
Edward "Ed" W. Nunnally, 74, of Chesterfield, died January 21, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy B. Nunnally; daughter, Dorothy Lee Shelton; son, William Reed Nunnally; sister, Banie N. Luck; six grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Morrisett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment Maury Cemetery.
