Mitchell L. Jones, 55, of Ruther Glen, Va., died July 28, 2001. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Bowling Green, Va., in charge of arrangements.

LINKENAUGER
Mont Miller Linkenauger Jr., 73, of Lanexa, died Saturday, July 28, 2001. Linkenauger retired from the College of William and Mary in 1988 as a Professor of Kinesiology. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia Cottrell Linkenauger; three sons, Mont Miller Linkenauger and James Neal Linkenauger of Lanexa, David Lynn Linkenauger of Williamsburg; one sister, Mary Bob Edwards of Coronado, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Mont, Morgan, Anna, Betty, Sally, James, David, Eva and Kurt Linkenauger. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 4 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mont Linkenauger Sports Medicine Endowment, College of William and Mary, AEF, Box 399, Williamsburg, Va. 23187. Arrangements by Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg.

MARTIN
Louis J. Martin, 86, of Chester, died Monday, July 30, 2001. He was a retired Dominion Virginia Power employee. He is survived by his wife, Nettie T. Martin; two sons, Clifford L. and Larry J. Martin; daughter, Gale M. Darby; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elizabeth Royster. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at J.T. Morriss & Son, Chester Chapel. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

McDANIEL
Twenty-nine year old Sybil "Renee" McDaniel of Chester was ushered into the waiting arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on the 28th day of July, 2001. She was preceded in death by her mother, Netta Carlock of Fayetteville, N.C. She is survived by her father, Jack Carlock of Fayetteville, N.C.; one son, Anthony Bonfardine and daughter, Chrissie Bonfardine, both of Chester; two sisters, Mrs. Gerri Goens and her husband, Rick of Chester and Mrs. Jackie Valenzuela of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Allen Carlock and his wife, Becky of Fayetteville, N.C.; a nephew, Kevin Gray and his wife, Reginna; great-niece, Courtney Michelle of Richmond; a nephew, Terry Parker and his wife, Lisa of Fayetteville, N.C. She is also survived by her fiance, Jeff Martin of Chester and many, many loving friends. Renee was an associate of Ukrops Central Kitchen and a former member of the Southern Gospel Music Ministries "Singing For His Glory". Today Nay is having a private concert with the King of Glory. We love you and miss you, "Nay"! The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at The Upper Room Chapel, 7013 Dyer Lane, Richmond. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Wayne Martin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, also at The Upper Room Chapel, with interment at Dale Memorial Park.

Lamont Nathaniel Minor of Richmond, formerly of New Kent Co., departed this life July 27, 2001. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth Minor. He is survived by his son, Brandon N. Wright; his daughter, Lamondria Jenelle Friedman; his mother, Marilyn L. Minor; his siblings, Kevin E. and Sherry L. Minor; a host of aunts and uncles; a devoted friend, Lisa M. Friedman; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St. where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. Rev. Barbara Allen officiating. Burial, Washington Memorial Park.

MONROE
Mr. Waverly Monroe went home to be with the Lord July 27, 2001. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Monroe and Ms. Doris Monroe; a belated son, Waverly Monroe Jr.; a son-in-law, Raymond Monroe; three sisters, Lena, Mattie and Marie; a granddaughter, Mrs. Lisa Cosby; three grandsons, Raymond Jr., Marcus and Ernest Monroe; a grandson-in-law, James Cosby Jr.; five great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Carlton T. Brooks Funeral Home, 2200 Hull St., where funeral services will be held Wednesday, 12 noon. Dr. James H. Harris officiating. Interment Maury Cemetery. Family and friends attending services assemble at the funeral home Wednesday, 11:30 a.m.

NIGHTINGALE
Mr. Ernest Benjamin Nightingale departed this life July 26, 2001. He attended Richmond Public Schools and graduated from Armstrong High School. He also served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Ruth June Nightingale; son, Warren Nightingale; brother, Raymond C. Nightingale; grandson, Justin Nightingale; two granddaughters, Toineisha Nightingale and Adrianne M. Falden; stepson, Dwayne E. Gardner; mother-in-law, Mrs. Rev. Alice Gillison; step mother-in-law, Mrs. Minnie Clark; four brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, one daughter-in-law; cousins, Nathaniel H. Mitchell, Fern Mitchell Cheek, Marjorie Settles; one aunt, Mrs. Hattie P. Mitchell; other relatives and friends. His remains rest at the W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home, where his family will receive friends Tuesday, 6 to 7 p.m. After 10 a.m. Wednesday, his remains will rest in Ebenezer Baptist Church, where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Rev. OWEN
William Henry (Jun-Jun) Owen of 302 Hunt Ave. departed this life Friday, July 27, 2001. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Thelma Huffam; one sister, Mary Frances Blanchard of Beltsville, Md.; two aunts, three uncles, one nephew, two great-aunts, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, among them, two devoted, Denise Johnson and Crawley Plummer. Professional services provided by Crawley Funeral Home, 3810 Meadowbridge Rd., where family will receive friends Tuesday 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral services Wednesday, 12 noon, from Trinity Baptist Church, 2811 Fendall Ave. Rev. Nathaniel D. West officiating. Remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral service. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends kindly assemble 11:30 a.m. at the church.

OWENS
Junior H. Owens, 79, of Richmond, died July 30, 2001. He is survived by his loving wife, Janie G. Owens,; daughters, Brenda Burnett, Donna Fones and her husband, Pete, Barbara Breeden and her husband, C. B., Judy Johnson, Elaine Kellam and her husband, Don; sisters, Lula Parker, Rachael Scott, Shirley Walker, Betty Jane Guthrie, Mary Lou Price and Bobbie Jean Gillespie; brothers, Dewey and Joe Bill Owens; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Mr. Owens was a member of Iron Workers Local #28, member of Calvary Missionary Alliance Church and was a veteran of WWII. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Departed this life on July 25, 2001, Willnette (Wendy) Pair. She was predeceased by her mother, Mrs. Rosa Lee Woody-Pair. She is survived by her loving son, Quotez Pair; father, Will Roy Pair of Jersey City, N.J.; grandmother, Pearlie M. Pair of Emporia; sisters, Patrice Woody and Tonnie Pair; ten aunts; eleven uncles; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, whom several are devoted, Shantra Mashoe and Dense Cobb; her companion, Frizell Stephens. Charles H. (Pete) Parsons, Jr., age 73, of Glen Allen, died July 30, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Benita C. Parsons; two sons, Charles H. (Chuck) Parsons III and Sgt. William F. Knapp; two daughters, Suzan P. Geissler and Amy P. Meadows; two step-sons, one step-daughter, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. He was a United States Navy World War II veteran, Master Mason of the Glen Allen Lodge No.131, Scottish Rite Mason 32nd degree, Noble of the Acca Temple Shrine, Deacon and member of Glen Allen Baptist Church, long time choir member and musician, volunteer for the Lakeside and Tuckahoe Rescue Squads, Boy Scout Master, and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His remains rest at the Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W.Broad St., where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday, August 1, from 7 till 9 p.m., and where a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The family will receive friends following the Masonic service. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 2, at 2 p.m. at Glen Allen Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Glen Allen Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Parsons' remains will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in honor of Mr. Parsons.

Gladys Mildred Blankenship Wade Peters, 78, of Chester, Va. and formerly of Franklin County, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zinnie A. Wade and Everett B. Peters; her parents, Henry and Frances Blankenship; two brothers, Tommy and James Blankenship; a sister, Audrey Blankenship; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Bolling and Randi Gene Turpin. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Fred Wyttenbach of Richmond; a son and daughter-in-law, Randall T. Sr. and Tina Wade of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Lorie Ann Patel, Kathy Crockett, Mindy Wyttenbach, Marie Bolling, Florence Wade, and Randall T. Wade Jr.; great-grandchildren, Laura Schein, Ashley, Krystin and Hunter Crockett, Timothy Bolling, Mamie and Toby Wade; sisters, Betty Robertson of Bassett, Nancy Young of Maryland, and Joyce Carol Ledbetter of Rocky Mount; brothers, Reid Blankenship of Ferrum, Donald Blankenship of Rocky Mount, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Lynch Funeral Home Chapel with Randall Wade Sr. and Sam Rodgers officiating. Interment to follow at Franklin Memorial Park. Family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Joyce Carol Ledbetter, 430 Ledbetter Rd., Rocky Mount, Va. STANLEY
Lucy Alma Dowdy Stanley, 87, of Roanoke, died Monday, July 30, 2001. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie D. Brown and was the widow of William Vance Stanley. Surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her devoted friends, JoAnn Johnston and Ann Johnston, both of Roanoke. A graveside service will be held in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kelly Dampeer officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Oakland Baptist Church or a charity of one's choice. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel.

WELLS
Frances Tucker Hoffman Wells, 90, of Ford, Va., died July 30, 2001. She was a retired public health nurse for the Virginia State Health Dept. Mrs. Wells served in Dinwiddie, Nottoway, Northumberland and Powhatan Counties during her 28-year career, retiring in 1973. She was member of the Crater District AAA Advisory Board, represented Dinwiddie on the Health Systems Agency, past lay leader for Corinth United Methodist Church, honorary regent of the Frances Bland Randolph Chapter, DAR and life member of the District II Regent's Club. She is survived by a daughter, Anna Hoffman Schoenenberger (Mrs. Michael R.) of Richmond; three stepchildren; two grandchildren, Melinda Lemon Anderson (Mrs. Stephen C.) of Atlanta, Ga., Sidney C. Lemon of Richmond; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, August 2 at 1 p.m. in Corinth Methodist Church Cemetery, Ford. The family will receive friends following the service in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Corinth UMC, Cemetery Fund or the DAR Schools, c/o Mrs. Clark M. Wood, Treasurer, 6513 Duncan Rd., Petersburg, Va. 23803-7449.
