Departed this life October 23, 2000 in Durham, N.C., Charles Goode Jr., formerly of Richmond. He is survived by his wife, Alma Booker Goode; two daughters, Charlene Harris and Charron Goode; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Tucker and Denise Garner; one son, Charles A. Goode; two stepsons, Hamilton and Wilson Garner; 13 grandchildren; one sister, Shirley L. Goode; one brother, James R. Goode; one aunt, Mittie Simmons; one uncle, Floyd Simmons; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; mother-in-law, Julia Woodly; one daughter-in-law, three sons-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral Saturday, 1 p.m., Ebenezer AME Methodist Church, 4001 Terminal Ave., where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Jeannette Phelps (Pastor), Rev. Calvin Robinson officiating. Interment Maury Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45 p.m. Saturday.

GREEN
Warren A. Green Sr., 78, of Cumberland, Va., went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 25, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Orlena Green; his children and their spouses, Gwen and Kevin Marshall of Farmville, Va., Warren and Judy Green of Midlothian, Va., Carolyn Lipscomb of Richmond, Va., James Green of Hampton, Va., Dennis and Ruth Green of Petersburg, Va., Diane and Allen Clark of Cumberland, Va., Donna Diamond of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Judy Pinkston of Orange, Va. Mr. Green is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Rosylind Maybry of Campabello, S.C.; and his brother, Ernest Green of Plymouth, Fla. Mr. Green was the owner of Warren Green Sr. Construction. He served in the Navy Bomb-Disposal in the Pacific during World War II. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt.10). Funeral services for Mr. Green will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment at Dale Memorial Park.

GUSTI
Charles A. Gusti, age 66, of Midlothian, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Gusti. His remains will rest at the Bliley Funeral Home’s Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd. Funeral notice later.

HADDON
Woodrow Ashley Haddon, 81, of Richmond, died Wednesday, October 25, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Jane D. Haddon; three daughters, Lynn H. Martin and husband, Tony, Barbara H. Blankenship and husband, Kenneth, and Carol H. Scribner and husband, Tom; one son, Stephen A. Haddon and wife, Barbara; ten grandchildren; one brother, Chester H. Haddon; and one sister, Joan H. Marable. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, October 28, at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Westhampton Baptist Church Elevator Fund, 6112 Three Chopt Road, Richmond, Va. 23226.

HARRISON
James E. Harrison Sr. departed this life on October 25, 2000. He is survived by one daughter, Gloria Christine Easter of Lawrenceville, Va.; two sons, James Harrison Jr., Richmond and Otis D. Harrison, Petersburg, Va.; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2000 at 2 p.m. from Poplar Mount Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The Pastor, Rev. Abraham I. Walton, will officiate. Brown’s Funeral Service, Lawrenceville, Va. is in charge of the arrangements.

HAWKINS
Departed this life October 25, 2000, Mrs. Pauline D. Hawkins of 3415 Idlewood Ave. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Hawkins. She is survived by two sisters, Wilhelen D. Satterwhite and Queen D. Logan; several devoted nieces and nephews, among them, Laura D. Kemp; and cousins; one sister-in-law, Willie R. Duncan; two brothers-in-law, John and Joseph Hawkins; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral Saturday, 1 p.m. Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary St., where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Earl M. Brown, Pastor, eulogy by Rev. William H. Gibson III. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45 p.m. Saturday.

HENRY
Benjamin Franklin (Ben) Henry, formerly of 1306 Carlisle Ave., departed this life October 24, 2000. He is survived by his devoted wife, Alberta Henry; three sons, two devoted, Curtis, Lonnie and Allen Wright of Chicago; two daughters, Theresa Hardy and Shirley Faison of Kansas; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, three daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. Graveside services will be held on Saturday 10 a.m. at Signal Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Ronald C. Taylor Sr. officiating. Departed this life October 24, 2000, Ms. India A. Hewlett of Richmond. She is survived by one great-niece, Brenda L. Robertson; three great-nephews, William Jr. and Franklin Hewlett and Melvin Smith; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave., where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Walter Robertson Jr. officiating. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. HOLDEN
Mrs. Katherine Kent Early Holden of Keysville, widow of Stephen West Holden Jr., died Thursday, October 26, 2000 in Richmond, Va. Born November 4, 1921 in Hillsville, Va., she was a daughter of the late James Kent and Katherine Tompkins Early of Charlotte Court House. Mrs. Holden was a graduate of Mary Baldwin College, a member of Village Presbyterian Church, and a former member of Prestwould Chapter, D.A.R. She was the editor of The Earlys of Southwest Virginia, published in 1981. Mrs. Holden is survived by a daughter, Katherine Kent Holden of Richmond; a son, S. West Holden III of Boydton; five grandchildren, Katherine Kent Veach Gorman, Stephen W. Holden IV, Anne McNair Holden, William Claiborne Holden and Caroline Southern Holden; and a brother, Edward William Early of Charlotte Court House. A memorial service will be held in Village Presbyterian Church, Charlotte Court House, October 28, 2000 at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlotte County Volunteer Rescue Squad, c/o John Locke, Treasurer, Drakes Branch, Va.

JOHNSON
Entered into eternal life October 24, 2000 Mrs. Gennie I. Johnson, age 117, of 4909 Annlyn Drive. Reposing at the Scott-Lightfoot Funeral Home, 3021 "N" Street. Services to be announced.

KOSLOW
Morris L. Koslow, 89, of Richmond, widower of Florence G. Koslow, died October 26, 2000. He is survived by his sons, Stephen Koslow of Maryland and David Koslow of California; daughter, Esther Koslow of New York; brother, Herman Koslow; and three grandchildren. Mr. Koslow was the owner of Koslow Supermarket and the former president and chairman of Richfood, Inc. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Bliley Funeral Home’s Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., with interment to follow in Sir Moses Montifiore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

LLOYD
Mary E. Lloyd, 75, of Richmond, died October 25, 2000. Survivors include her husband, Ronald G. Lloyd; two sons, Harold H. Tickle and James L. Cordle; two sisters, Lena Saferight and Iola Orsman; and two granddaughters, Mary and Elizabeth. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home’s Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (today), and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.

LUNSFORD
William Carroll Lunsford Jr., age 81, a native of Reedville, died at his Timonium, Md., residence Wednesday, October 25, 2000. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. After the war and until his retirement, he was active in the menhaden fishing industry in Virginia, New Jersey and Maryland. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Marsh Lunsford of Timonium; two sons, Richard Marsh Lunsford and William C. Lunsford III of Haddonfield, N.J., and their wives; four grandchildren; and a brother, Robert L. Lunsford of Reedville. Graveside services will be held in Roseland Cemetery, Reedville, on Sunday at 1 p.m.

LYNN
Lois Wirt Lynn of Amelia passed away October 26, 2000. Funeral notice later.

McCAIN
Departed this life October 24, 2000, Mrs. Joyce B. McCain of 28 Orams Lane. She is survived by her husband, Paul McCain; two daughters, Sheila Johnson and Paulette McCain; one stepdaughter, Annie Gwynn; three brothers, Carl and Walter Bell, and Tyrone Davis; one sister, Mildred Wood; a host of nieces; a host of nephews, among them one devoted, Wayne Bell; five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St. Remains will lie in state Saturday 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 28th and "R" Sts., where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Rev. Sylvester Smith officiating. Burial Forest Lawn Cemetery.

NELSON
Earl Kermit Nelson Sr. departed this life October 21, 2000 in Atlantic City, N.J. Three survivors omitted in yesterday’s notice are one brother, S. O’Neal Nelson of Alexandria, Va.; one grandson, Dorden Bivings; and one uncle, Floyd Nelson.

NICHOLS
Jean Bischoff Nichols of Richmond, Virginia, died Wednesday, October 25, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Edward Nichols; two daughters, Susan Nichols Matthews and Barbara Jean Nichols; her son-in-law, Clay Taylor Matthews; two grandsons, Joseph Taylor Matthews and Andrew Clay Matthews; her sister, Mabel Bischoff Smith; two nephews, Lawrence Benjamin Smith and Barton Elliott Smith; and three grandnephews, Jacob, Adam and Mitchell Smith, all of whom make their homes in Richmond. Mrs. Nichols was a native of Richmond and was educated in the Richmond public schools. She was a member of The Tri Club Woman’s Club, The College Hills Woman’s Club, The Tuckahoe Woman’s Club, and the Council of The Virginia Museum. She was also a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church where she had served on the Altar Guild and as a member of the Margaret Miller Circle. She was a past member of the Thomas Jefferson Junior Woman’s Club and the Hermitage Country Club and was currently a member of the Westwood Tennis and Racquet Club. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends after the service in the Church Social Hall. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Epiphany Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 1400 Horsepen Road, Richmond, Virginia 23226 or Bon Secours Hospice Program, 5801 Bremo Road, Richmond, Virginia 23226.

OSBORNE
Lloyd H. Osborne, 79, of Richmond, died Thursday, October 26, 2000. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Osborne. He is survived by his three children, Danny L. Osborne of Idaho, J. Terry Osborne of Richmond and Jack E. Rainier of Texas; two sisters, Louise O. Bernowsky and her husband, Benjamin Bernowsky, Helen O. Lynn and her husband, Carl P. Lynn Sr.; a nephew, C. Preston Lynn Jr.; two nieces, Deborah Nussman and Shannon Frizzell. Mr. Osborne was retired from the Navy as a master chief petty officer after 30 years of service and was also retired from Reynolds Metals after 25 years of service. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home’s Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and where funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.

OXFORD
Ruth Cecelia Oxford, infant daughter of Gary Dean and Rosemary Barr Oxford, died Wednesday, October 25, 2000 at a local hospital. She was born on April 5, 2000 in Charlottesville, Va. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Gerald and Nancy Barr of Whitesville, Ky.; paternal grandparents, Milford and Deanie Oxford of Las Cruces, N.M.; a number of aunts and uncles, Pam Coleman and husband, Steve of Nashville, Tenn., Jenny Cecil and husband, Kenny of Knottsville, Ky., Kenny Barr and wife, Stacey of Whitesville, Ky., Mike Oxford and wife, Mary Wall of Terre Haute, Ind.; and nine cousins. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 29, 2000 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville with the Rev. James Baker officiating. Interment will be at Monticello Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening, October 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hill and Wood Funeral Home. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to a charity of their choice.
