PEGRAM
Clarence L. "Woody" Pegram, 80, of Lakeside, died Monday, January 28, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Maxine V. Pegram; six children, Linwood A. Pegram and his wife, June, Jewell E. Royer and her husband, Charles, David E. Pegram, Gregory L. Pegram and his wife, Rebecca, Clarence B. Pegram and his wife, Debbie and Kimberly S. Jones; a sister, Dorothy P. Lindsay; eight grandchildren, Joseph, Jerry, Eric, Jessica, Brandon, Lisa and Cody; a great-grandson, William; and a devoted friend, Onie White. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian. Mr. Pegram was a Navy veteran of World War II, in which he was awarded the American Victory Medal. He was a lifelong lover of music and was proficient on any stringed instrument as well as the piano. He was also a 27-year member of Local No.10, Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, where services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to McGuire Veterans Hospital, 1201 Broad Rock Road, Richmond, Va. 23224. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the 4th floor CCU for all their special care.

PITTMAN
Robert L. Pittman of Richmond died January 27, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Pittman; one brother, Rev. Raymond C. Pittman (Etta); and a special, devoted family; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott-Lightfoot Funeral Home, 3021 N St. Funeral services will be private.

ROBBINS
Mr. Dorothy Lee "Dot" Robbins, 88, of Richmond, a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant, died January 28, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie M. Robbins; and is survived by his daughter, Dorothy M. Robbins-Martin; son, Lindsey C. Robbins of Centre, Ala.; one sister; a granddaughter, Merrie C. Pratt; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. Special thanks to his caregiver, Margaret Firestone, for the loving attention she gave him. Mr. Robbins served during WWII and was a prisoner of war (No. 601). He was a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge No. 0107 in Capeville, Va. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. A graveside service will be held 12 noon Thursday in Sunset Memorial Park.

SEWARD
Mrs. Beulah Seward Departed this life January 29, 2002. Remains rest at the Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Avenue. Funeral notice later.

TAYLOR
Roland Wythe Taylor, age 79, passed away January 28, 2002 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Martin Taylor; one daughter, Susan Taylor Ford; three granddaughters, Meaghan, Ashley and Lindsay Ford; one niece, Carolyn D. Jones. Mr. Taylor retired as Classified Advertising Manager for Richmond Newspapers, Inc. He was a Past Master and a 50-year member of Joppa Lodge No. 40 A.F.&A.M. and Past Potentate and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Acca Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (today) at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad St., where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2002. Interment will follow in Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad.

THOMPSON
Freddie C. Thompson, 87, of Richmond, died Thursday, January 24, 2002. He is survived by her daughter, Fredi Walker-Jagiello of Brockton, Mass.; one son, Ottye Thompson of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Ernestine Hennessey of Andrews, S.C., and Myrtle Roland of Stanford, Conn.; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, February 1, at the Holy Trinity Church, 1826 N. 30th St., followed by a service. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.

VOLLENWEIDER
Leo "Dutch" Vollenweider, 79, loving husband and father, went to be with the Lord January 29, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Theresa; son-in-law, Darrell Sims; sister, Inez Tauzin of New Orleans; and many loving family members. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and the Korean War. He was a Past Department Vice-Commander of Virginia for the American Legion and a past Chef DeGar for the 40 and 8. He graduated in 1957 from VCU and was a U.S. Customs inspector. He volunteered with the Atlee High School football program. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church Building Fund, 909 Rennie Ave., Richmond, Va. 23227.

WICKHAM
Mary Sue Wickham died January 29, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Price Wickham; her son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Terry Wickham; her grandsons and wives, Trey and Jen and Mike and Kenley Wickham. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment Berea Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Centerville Volunteer Rescue Squad or Berea Baptist Church.

WILKINSON
Margaret W. Wilkinson, age 95, widow of Rev. Jesse G. Wilkinson, of Richmond, Va. and formerly of Greensboro, N.C., died Monday, January 28, 2002. She was the devoted mother and grandmother to her daughter, Ann W. Hammack of Richmond; her grandchildren, Julia S. Nicol and David H. Stith; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are four sisters. Mrs. Wilkinson was a graduate of Queens College. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Centenary United Methodist Church, Greensboro, N.C. Interment private.

WILLIS
Dallas Douglas "Jimmy" Willis, 80, of Richmond and LaBelle, Fla., died Monday, January 28, 2002. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances E. Willis; and is survived by a son, Chris Willis and his wife, Debra; a cousin, Cecil Goodall; a grandson, Brian Willis; two great-grandchildren, Darion and Christopher Willis; two stepgrandchildren, Nicholas and Edward Cobb. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 East Laburnum Ave., where services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. Entombment Oakwood Cemetery.

WOOD
James Talmadge Wood Jr. of Sandston died at his home on Monday, January 28, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Irene F. Wood; one son, Gary Arthur Wood of Mechanicsville; two daughters, Janet W. Toler of Rockville and Gail W. Baum of Mechanicsville; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and four sisters. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Ave., where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment Washington Memorial Park.

WREN
James M. "Big Jim" Wren, 73, of Mechanicsville, a native of Little Rock, Ark., died Monday, January 28, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Marylou Mason Wren; two daughters, Jennifer Newcomb and Katy Cutchins; three grandchildren, Bryan and Jessi Newcomb and Hope Cutchins, all of Mechanicsville. He was preceded in death by three sons, David, Steven and Jeffrey Wren. Mr. Wren was a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of Northwestern University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He was also a member of the National Association of Accountants. A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Cool Spring Baptist Church. Interment Roselawn Memorial Park, Little Rock, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Atlee High School Athletic Boosters, 9414 Atlee Station Road, Mechanicsville, Va. 23116. ALLMOND
Barbara G. Allmond, 62, of Ashland, widow of Alvin W. Allmond, died Saturday, May 12, 2001. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne A. and Gregory Martin, Pamela A. and James Wesley Morgan Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Scott A. and Kimberly Allmond; son, Michael D. Allmond and Kim Allen; her mother, Cecelia K. Galbraith; two grandchildren, Brian C. and Meredith A. Martin. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a Christian Wake service being held at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held 12 noon Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church. APPLEWHITE
Harold Stuart Applewhite of Richmond died May 13, 2001. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Evelyn C. Applewhite and several cousins. He was a retired architect with the State of Virginia, a U.S. Army veteran with service in World War II, and a graduate of Virginia Tech. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to River Road Church, Baptist.

BRYANT
Dorothy Belvin Bryant, age 74, departed this life on Tuesday, May 8, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Bryant; one daughter, Patricia Ann Bryant of Richmond; one brother, Thomas Edward Belvin and sister-in-law, May of Williamsburg; and six nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at Westhampton Baptist Church. A reception immediately to follow in the church fellowship hall. The family will not be receiving flowers. As Mrs. Bryant was a lifelong animal lover, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Henrico Humane Society, P.O. Box 28014, Richmond, Va. 23228; or to the Westhampton Baptist Church, 6112 Three Chopt Road, Richmond, Va. 23226.

CARY
Mary S. Cary, 77, of Crewe, passed away May 13, 2001. She was the widow of Polk M. Cary Jr. She is survived by her three children, Michael Cary of Crewe, Jane Featherston of Richmond and Brian Cary of Charlotte, N.C.; also four grandchildren, Kinsey and Kerry Featherston, Caroline and Laura Scott Cary. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, family requests that contributions be made to the Patrick Henry Boys Home in Brookneal, Va.

DAVIS
Sylvia B. Davis of Richmond, widow of Harry S. Davis, died May 11, 2001. She is survived by her son, Stuart L. Davis; brother, Jerome Brown and his wife, Mildred of Lauderdale, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held 12 Noon Tuesday at the Hebrew Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beth Shalom Woods or your favorite charity.

EVANS
Mrs. Maggie J. Evans of 3023 Forest Hill Ave., departed this life Friday, May 11, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Evans and one son, Beauregard N. Evans Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, James D. and Charles W. Evans; two daughters, Juanita E. Sykes and Jannie P. Skinner; one sister, Priscilla J. McDowell; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, three daughters-in-law, three nieces, one nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends, one devoted, Elizabeth Carolina. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2 p.m. at First Independent Methodist Church, 3050 Midlothian Pike, Rev. Jerry Mallory, pastor, officiating. Interment Maury Cemetery. Remains will rest in the above named church one hour prior to service. Relatives and friends attending funeral services, assemble at the church 1:30 p.m.
