FULTON
Mr. Hamilton Quinn Fulton, 85, of Richmond, died Saturday, May 12, 2001. He was born October 1, 1915 in Danville, Va. and had lived in Richmond most of his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helda Nystrom Fulton; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Louis Burks of Richmond; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Joyce Fulton of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Miss Marguerite Fulton of Richmond; two granddaughters, Gwyn and Stacey Fulton, and one great-grandson, Thomas, all of Charlotte, N.C. Mr. Fulton was retired from Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co. and the E.R. Carpenter Co. He was a charter member of Monument Heights Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, being stationed on Guadalcanal. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and the Metropolitan Masonic Lodge No. 11. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Monument Heights Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Monument Heights Baptist Church, 5716 Monument Ave., Richmond, Va. 23226.

GILLIAM
Llewellyn Walker Gilliam, age 89, of Pamplin, died Saturday, May 12, 2001. Survived by his wife, Blanche Allen Gilliam; one son, Llew W. Gilliam Jr. and wife, Judy; one daughter, Page G. Harding of Farmville; one sister, Elgin Turns of Rustburg; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight (Monday) from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Shorter Funeral Home in Farmville. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethpeor Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m. in Bethpeor Baptist Church. Interment in church cemetery.

GORDON
Laura L. Gordon, 85, of Weems, widow of Leslie L. Gordon, died May 12, 2001. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Ellen Gordon of Pillager, Minn., L.W. "Bill" and Pat Gordon of Weems, and Melvin and Amanda Gordon of Kilmarnock; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Support Services, P.O. Box 262, Warsaw, Va. 22572.

GRAVES
Albert Christian Graves Jr., 78, of Charles City, died Saturday, May 12, 2001. He was a loving Daddy who retired after 42 years of service at Newport News Shipyard working in quality assurance. Mr. Graves was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Charles City since he was ten years old, taught Sunday School for 25 years and served as a Deacon in the church. He was a World War II veteran who earned a Purple Heart and was also a member of the Ruritan Club. Mr. Graves was an EMT, a dispatcher, and a chaplain of the Providence Forge Rescue Squad. Mr. Graves was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Craddock Graves and a brother, Charles E. Graves Sr. He is survived by his best friend, Elsie F. Olive of Newport News. He is survived by four sons, Albert Christian Graves III, John F. Graves and his wife, Bonnie, James M. Graves and his wife, Lisa Rena, and Mark E. Graves and his wife, Ann; three daughters, Mary Joanne Graves, Kathryn G. Harrell, and Lisa G. Post and her husband, Jeff; one brother, Marshall A. Graves; 15 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Monday, May 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 19300 The Glebe Road, Charles City. Memorial donations may be made to the Providence Forge Rescue Squad, 3401 Rescue Dr., Providence Forge, Va. 23140 or to the American Cancer Society, 895 Middle Ground Blvd., Newport News, Va. 23606. GRONHOLZ
LeRoy F. Gronholz, Ph.D., 78, of Midlothian, passed away May 10, 2001 after complications from a fall. He is survived by his daughters, Margot Bittenbender of Old Greenwich, Conn. and Debbie Narrod of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Sarah and Joanne Bittenbender, and Jennifer and Matthew Narrod. Born in South Dakota, Dr. Gronholz was a physical chemist who worked for E.I. DuPont in research and development for 31 years. In 1944, he married Marilyn Nelson, who preceded him in death. A memorial service will be 11 a.m., May 15, at River Road Church, Baptist. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Joslin Diabetes. Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, Mass. 02215.

HABOUSH
Louis P. Haboush Jr. of Richmond passed away Saturday, May 12, 2001. He is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Sandra L. and Dean Hall, and Sherry L. and Tim Wallace; four grandchildren, Chad, Brittanie, Jessika, and Shelbie Hall; a brother, James T. Haboush; sister, Louise Wemyss; and his former wife, Kitty Trainham. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Mausoleum Chapel at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers, to the American Kidney Foundation or to the Hunter H. McGuire Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Julian F. (Mickey) Henry, age 72, of Richmond, died May 13, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet C. Henry. He is survived by his children, Gloria Doolin, Patricia Rodriguez, Carolyn Wilhelm and William (Mike) Henry; a brother, James Henry; sisters, Mary Lowry and Edith Esteppe; grandchildren, Jay, Karen, Maria, Michael, Danielle, Carlos, Lindsey and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Devin, Gabrielle, Lauryn and Steven. His remains rest at Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday. HUDSON
Richard Allen Hudson, age 43, of Chesterfield, died Saturday, May 12, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett L. Hudson Sr. He is survived by two sons, Jonathan "Blake" and Daniel "Weston" Hudson; his mother, Dorothy O. Hudson; two brothers and two sisters, Emmett L. Hudson Jr., Patricia Bezjak, Stephen Hudson, Sandra Thomas; many special close friends, and other relatives. Richard was a custom cabinet designer. His remains will rest at Oak Forest Baptist Church, 5101 Courthouse Rd., Chesterfield, Tuesday, May 15, 2001 from 6 to 8 p.m. and where services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at Oak Forest Baptist Church. Ernest Edward "Manboy" Jones entered eternal rest Tuesday, May 8, 2001. Cherishing his memory are two daughters, Rosalind Jones and Sandra Ball; three sisters, Mary and Ruth Jones, and Aretha Washington; four grandchildren; a devoted brother-in-law, Matthew Washington; four nieces, two devoted, Aretha and Thaneca Wooldridge; six nephews, two devoted, Herman and Michael Washington; devoted cousin, Rachael Hill; a host of other devoted family members and friends. His remains will lie in state Monday from 1 to 8 p.m. at the A.D. Price Funeral Establishment, 212 E. JONES
Ms. Frances N. Jones of Charles City, departed this life Friday, May 11, 2001 in John Randolph Hospital, Hopewell. Surviving are one daughter, Gail Jones; two sons, David Jones (Charlene) and Anthony Jones (Areatha); nine grandchildren; six sisters, Thelma Jones, Annie Bowman, Emma Black (Thomas), Jean Christian (William), Edith White and Alice Christian; two brothers, Dalton and William Jones (Patricia); two aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, among them a devoted friend, Thomas Christian. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Parrish Hill Baptist Church, Charles City. Rev. E.W. Anderson, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. KEARFOTT
Clarence Piercall Kearfott, 89, of Martinsville, Virginia, died on May 13, 2001 in Richmond. The son of the late Joseph Conrad Kearfott and Catharine Rives Kearfott, Mr. Kearfott had been a Martinsville native for his entire life until moving to a retirement community in Richmond in 1996. Mr. Kearfott graduated from the Virginia military Institute in 1933 and from the T.C. Williams School of Law of the University of Richmond in 1936. He began practicing law in Martinsville and Henry County, Virginia, in 1936 and remained in practice there until his retirement in 1992. He was a past president of the Martinsville-Henry County Bar Association and was a member of the Virginia Bar Association and the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. He served for a time as an assistant judge of the General District Court of Martinsville and Henry County. Mr. Kearfott was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Martinsville, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, Treasurer, vestryman, and as Junior and Senior Wardens. He was named Senior Warden Emeritus. He also had been active in affairs of the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia and was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Richmond at the time of his death. He served in the Army in World War II and for many years was active in the Army Reserves. At the time of his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel, he was the local commander of the 2154th Army Reserve Unit. Mr. Kearfott was a member and past president of the Martinsville Rotary Club and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. He also was a member and past president of the George Waller Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Martinsville Touchdown Club. He was a member and past director of Chatmoss Country Club. Mr. Kearfott is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Kelly Kearfott, now of Richmond; a daughter, Ann Kearfott Hodnett of Phoenix, Maryland; a son, Joseph C. Kearfott of Richmond; his sister, Margaret Kearfott Carriel of Martinsville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Christ Episcopal Church, Martinsville, Va. 24112. A memorial service for Richmond friends will be conducted on May 15 at 11 a.m. at the Fellowship Hall at Cedarfield retirement community in Richmond. A second memorial service will be conducted at a later date to be announced at Christ Episcopal Church in Martinsville, with his ashes placed in the columbarium there.

Carroll Garnett Powers, 77, of Ashland, died Sunday, May 13, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Ruby L. Powers; his sisters, Josephine P. Attkisson of Richmond and Hilda P. Wickham of Ashland. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Monday (today) at Reid Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ashland Volunteer Fire Co. or the charity of your choice.

Rose F. Schneider, 86, of Richmond, died Sunday, May 13, 2001. She was the widow of Harry Schneider. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gerry and Roland Specter of Petersburg; her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Sandy Schneider of Richmond; her brother, Louis Feldman of Norfolk; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Richmond Beth-el Cemetery, Forest Lawn.

Norma Redford Stone, age 96, of Jetersville, died on May 13, 2001. She was predeceased by her husband, James Elbert Stone and is survived by her sons, James E. Stone Jr. of Richmond and Charles R. Stone of Amelia; daughters, Patricia Stone Hobson and Lucy Page Stone Wagner, both of Richmond; granddaughters, Anne Stone Griffith, Susan Stone Stewart, and Patricia Hobson Moore. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Va. SUTTLE
Ora Deane Suttle, 87, formerly of Petersburg, died Saturday, May 12, 2001 at the Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock. She was the widow of Oscar Suttle. Mrs. Suttle was a resident of Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury in Irvington, and a member of the Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Bruce and Gordon T. Winfield Jr.; three grandchildren, Campbell W. Hammill, Barbara W. Lawrence and Gordon T. Winfield III; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home in Petersburg, Va. A local service at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church Fellowship Fund, P.O. Box 18, Weems, Va. 22576.

TRENT
Dan C. Trent Jr., 47, of Spotsylvania, died Sunday morning of cancer. Mr. Trent is survived by his wife of 27 years, Karen Trent; a daughter, Jennifer Adkins of Stafford; a son, Christopher Trent of Spotsylvania; a grandson; his parents, Janet and Dan Trent of Richmond; and a sister, Wanda Bage of Richmond. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2001. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. at Dale Memorial Park in Chesterfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. Found and Sons of Fredericksburg is handling the arrangements.
