Rachel S. Fletcher, 74, of Sandston, went to be with the Lord Monday, May 28, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank C. Fletcher and is survived by two daughters, Sandra McCormick and Judy Fletcher; two sons, Kenny and Jack Fletcher; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and a great-grandson; three sisters, Alice, Geraldine, and Sara; one brother, Carlton. She was a good wife, a loving mother and grandmother. Her remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment Washington Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

GREEN
Departed this life May 28,2001 in Baltimore Maryland, George Green Sr. Upon arrival, remains will rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral notice later.

HALEY
June Margaret Slack Haley, 86, formerly of Beckley W.Va., passed away Sunday, May 27, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Slack. She is survived by a sister, Catherine Cunningham of Roanoke, Va.; three sons, William Robert and his wife, Ito, Charles Edward and his wife, Gail, and David Lee and his wife, Mary. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services are to be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at Meltons Mortuary in Beckley, W.Va. with burial to follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

HUGGINS
E. G. (Huggy) Huggins, 75, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2001. He was born on November 22, 1925 in Buckingham County, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Josephine Cash Huggins. He is survived by two devoted sons, Stephen Craig Huggins and his wife, Barbara, and Ronald Brent Huggins and his wife, Sally; three grandchildren, Tracy, Brent and Jared, all of Texas; his loving and caring companion, Dolores McCann of Lottsburg, Virginia; and by countless friends. Huggy proudly served in the United States Navy beginning in 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1955 with various awarded medals. He most recently owned Huggins Honda and Huggins Mitsubishi in North Richland Hills, Texas. During his tenure in the automobile business, he also owned and operated new car franchises for Acura, Chevrolet, Ford, Hyundai, Jeep, Mac and Nissan. Huggy was a member of the New Car Dealers Association of Tarrant County, Texas, the National Automobile Dealers Association and the Presidents Club of DEAC. He was also involved in various businesses with his partner and lifelong friend, Max Pearson. Huggy's involvement included, but was certainly not limited to, Christ's Haven for Children, the DARE Program, P&H Racing, Ducks Unlimited, Warsaw Buy Rite, Richmond Roadrunners Football, and the WRNL Shoe Foundation. Huggy was a member of the Henrico Masonic Lodge #130. In 1948, he was revised to the Sublime degree of a Master Mason and eventually became a 50-year Masonic Veteran. He was also a Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Richmond and a Noble of the ACCA Temple. From Blue Lodge to Shrine, Huggy was proud he was a member. Huggy, who never met a stranger, will be missed by all who had the good fortune to share his smile and positive attitude. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 30, at 2 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the National Cancer Research Fund, 133 E. 58th Street, New York, New York 10022.

JAMES
Shirley Lowry James of Mechanicsville, formerly of Richmond, passed away Monday, May 28, 2001 on her 71st birthday. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Burton Lowry and her father, Marcellus Carter Lowry Jr. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she is survived by her husband, Herbert L. James; her children Herbert L. James Jr. and his wife, Charlotte, Stuart L. James and his wife, Sharon, Evelyn R. Tolbert, Roger Lee James and his wife, Connie, and Anne J. Cook and her husband, Tony; her sister, June L. Yates and her husband, Leroy; her brother, Marcellus C. Lowry III and his wife, Doris; her grandchildren, Sarah, Amanda, and Jaclyn Tolbert, Jamie, Heather, Lee, Reed, Caroline, Laura and Angela James, and Cloe Cook. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Departed this life May 26, 2001, Mrs. Carrie Ellis Jones of 2247 Dogtown Rd., Goochland. she is survived by her husband, Zack Jones Sr.; two daughters, Carolyn Jones Dunk and Marilyn A. Jones; three grandchildren, Jacqua S. Carr, Javonn S. Jones and Lakeisha E. Berry; three sisters, Carlessa E. Allen, Gertrude E. James and Berta E. Taylor; one brother, Charles Ellis Jr.; one aunt Thelma Dabney; host of nieces, nephews and cousins; four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and other relatives and friends, among them, Craig L. Dunk, Charles W. Carr and Gaynell Robinson. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral Wednesday, 1 p.m., St. James Baptist Church, 401 Blair Road, where remains will lie in state one hour prior funeral time. Rev. Thomas Blake (pastor) officiating. Interment Westhampton Memorial Gardens. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.

LEONARD
Robert L. "Cuz" Leonard, 79, of Ashland, died May 28, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Annie Hall Leonard. He is survived by two daughters, Joyce L. Renner and her husband, Arthur L., Janice L. Wells and her husband, Herman C. Jr.; five brothers, Randolph, Wallace, Ellis, Don, and Frank Leonard; three sisters, Georgine Dixon, Pauline Lynch and Irene Pennington; three grandchildren, Robert Lewis Renner and his wife, Cathy, David Winfred Renner and his wife, Sarah, and Shannon Hicks; two great-grandchildren, Marion Renner and Ryan Hicks. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His remains rests at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

LOVING
Walter H. Loving, of 5321 Snowden Lane, died May 26, 2001 after a lengthy illness. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Lucille Warden Loving; a brother, Willie L. Loving; five sisters-in-law, Glenna Loving, Frances W. Lambert, Nan, Hilda and Sylvia Warden; two brothers-in-law, George and Luther Warden; nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Loving was the founder and former owner of Walter H. Loving Realty Co. His remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. After 10 a.m. Wednesday, remains will rest in Westwood Baptist Church, 915 Glenburnie Rd., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Rev. Linda D. LUMPKIN
Katherine Green Lumpkin, 90, of Richmond, passed away Monday, May 28, 2001. She was born March 26, 1911 in Richmond. She attended the Richmond Public Schools, receiving her diploma from John Marshall High School, and then completed 3 years of work at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her musical talent showed at an early age and she studied piano very intensely throughout most of her life, becoming a very accomplished performer at an early age. She was a student of internationally famous Guy Maier for several summer sessions and studied piano performance and pedagogy at summer workshop sessions at the nationally respected School of Music of the University of Maryland. She began teaching privately at an early age and continued until her retirement in the fall of 1986, having established a record of continuous teaching of 60 years. She was a member of the Richmond Music Teachers Association, the Richmond Music Study Club, the American College of Musicians, the Virginia Music Teachers Association and the Virginia Federation of Music Clubs. She was a member of the music faculty of Virginia Commonwealth University for several years shortly before, during, and after World War II. With marriage and the raising of a family she returned to private teaching in her home. Mrs. Lumpkin is survived by her husband, Dr. R. Pierce Lumpkin Jr. of Richmond; her children, Margaret L. and her husband, Robert S. Forrester, of Lancaster, Va., Dr. R. Pierce Lumpkin III of Bloomington, Ind., Willis G. Lumpkin and his wife, Pamela Blizzard, of Raleigh, N.C. and Richard K. Lumpkin of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, Brian, Kenneth, and Mary Beth Forrester, Steven and Nathanial Lumpkin; and a sister, Ruth Green of Richmond. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday. A private graveside service will be held later. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Westminster-Canterbury Foundation, 1600 Westbrook Ave., Richmond, Va. 23227.

MANN
Dr. Geoffrey Thomas Mann, 86, of Mansion Dr., Hopewell, Virginia, died Sunday, May 27, 2001 in John Randolph Medical Center, Hopewell, Va. He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Dr. Mann received his LL. B. from the University of Saskatchewan in 1941 and his M.D. from the University of Manitoba in 1948. He was the former Chief Medical Examiner, Commonwealth of Virginia, Richmond, Va., from 1949 to 1972, and a professor and chairman, Department of Legal Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Va. from 1955 to 1972. Dr. Mann retired as the Chief Medical Examiner, District 17, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Geoffrey John and Kathleen Elliot Mann; and his first wife, Ann Elizabeth Mann, who died in 1988. Surviving are his wife, Frances Wyatt Mann of Hopewell, Va., a son Geoffrey J. N. Mann of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two daughters, Summer Mann Nemir of Hagerstown, Md., and Ann Elizabeth K. Mann of Washington, D.C.; stepdaughter, Jay Wyatt Baxa of Richmond, granddaughters, Mary Lou A. Nemir, Christina D. Nemir and Andrea Lea Nemir, all of Hagerstown, Md.; two stepgranddaughters, Emily C. Baxa and Kathleen D. Baxa, both of Richmond; and a sister, Mary Mann Kemp of Victoria, British Columbia. A private graveside service will be held in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Richmond, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1432, Hopewell, Va. 23860. The Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.

McKEE
Randall (Randy) Dean McKee, 56, son of the late John N. McKee, passed away Saturday May 26, 2001, after a brief illness. He is survived by his mother, Loraine J. McKee; three daughters, Ann M. and Charlotte M. (twins) and Karen L. McKee; two brothers, John R. and Thomas L. McKee; two sisters, Catherine M. Polychroni and Deborah M. Cooke. Mr. McKee was a 20 year employee of Dominion Resources and an 18 year U. S. Army Veteran. The family will receive friends at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A memorial service will be held at Ginter Park Presbyterian Church, 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2001. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

McLAURIN

Mrs. Jessie Shepperson Moody, age 77, of Richmond, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 26, 2001. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Allen and LaFonde Shepperson; five sisters, Mary Harrison, Sallie Finney, Classerine Sally, Pearl Brown and Irene Reid; two grandchildren, Cara Allen-Lee and Horace Allen III; two great-grandchildren, Maya and Dorian Lee Jr.; one devoted sister-in-law, Rosa Shepperson,; a devoted niece, Maggie Washington; devoted caretaker, Mable Lee; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Her homegoing will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 30, 1 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church, 2006 Decatur St. Dr. Robert L. Pettis Sr., pastor, Rev. Marvin Jefferson, officiating, interment Maury Cemetery. Remains will rest in the above named church one hour prior to service. Relatives and friends attending funeral services assemble at the church 12:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Baptist Church Building Fund.

MORTON
Leonidas B. Morton Sr., age 94, of Henrico County, departed this life May 28, 2001. The staff of the W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home is serving his family.

MYERS
A. Wade Myers Jr., 84, of Glen Allen, Virginia, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Thelma Lee Coleman Myers; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Charles Hudson; sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Tina Myers and Richard (Dick) and Debbie Myers; and six grandchildren, Christy Lynn Hudson and Carrie, Melissa, Chris, Tonya and Daniel Myers. He is also survived by a brother, Luther P. Myers of Smithfield, Va. and a special friend, Eva Norman of Virginia Beach and her family. He was a member of Glen Allen Baptist Church and was past master and treasurer emeritus of Glen Allen Masonic Lodge #131 AF&AM. He also was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, Acca Temple Shrine and the Glen Allen Shrine Club. He retired as the Regional Credit Manager of Lone Star Industries in 1978 after 40 years with the company. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m., and where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glen Allen Baptist Church Building Fund, 3028 Mountain Rd., Glen Allen, Va. 23060.

RICE
Betty M. Rice, 80, of Midlothian, died Saturday, May 26, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Rice Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas J. Rice III and Linda B. Rice; three grandchildren, Katheryn A. Rice, T. Johnathan Rice and Michael B. Rice. Mrs. Rice was a member of Winfree Memorial Baptist Church and a retired Midlothian High School Teacher. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at Winfree Memorial Baptist Church. Interment Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Martha Larus Rice Fund at Winfree Memorial Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
