NANNEY
Richard Forest Nanney, born April 8, 1948, Dallas, Texas, died at his home in Hopewell, Va., September 11, 2002. He joined the Navy serving in the Pacific, joined the Army stationed in Hawaii, Germany and retired from Ft. Lee, Va. He is survived by his mother, Zelta; sister, Susan; and stepsons, Curtis and Steven Harmon.

OUTLAR
Mrs. Willo P. Outlar of Richmond, formerly of Washington, D.C., died Spetember 21, 2002. Her remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 East Brookland Park Blvd., where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m., and where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Rev. Gerald Outlar officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.

PLEASANTS
James S. (Coon) Pleasants, age 96, of Mineral, Va., died Monday, September 23, 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Alice J. Boyd of Louisa, Va.; and his granddaughter, Kimberly S. Cash of Afton, Va. His remains rest at the Woodward Funeral Home, 200 Fredericksburg Ave., Louisa, Va., where the family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 26. Interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa, Va In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elk Creek Baptist Church, Mineral, Va. 23117.

PRICE
Vivian D. Price, 77, went to be with the Lord September 19, 2002. Survived by her husband, Rufus Price; daughter, Margaret Blackburn; sister, Joann Bates; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday in Maury Cemetery.

PRINCE
Mildred S. Prince, 81, of Emporia, died Tuesday, September 24, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Edward Prince; one daughter, Frances P. Butler; two sons, Billy Prince and Raymond Prince; seven sisters, Helen Prince, Lucille Taylor, Marion Wright, Edna Newsome, Nell Prince, Lorine Bradley and Lily Ruth Mitchell; three brothers, Parker Slagle, Lawrence Slagle and David Slagle; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by a brother and sister; and one son, Clifton Prince. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday (tonight) at Owen Funeral Home in Jarratt, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2002. Interment will follow in Greensville Memorial Cemetery.

William Rozzell Jr. of 6636 Pebble Spring Dr. died September 24, 2002. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Funeral notice later.

TALLEY
Iola Virginia Talley of Richmond, formerly of Coats, N.C., died Monday, September 23, 2002. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Taylor and husband, Julian; three grandchildren, Mary Cathrine Carter and husband, Edward of Pottstown, Pa., Charles J. Bischoff and wife, Jackie of Mechanicsville, Nicholas T. Bischoff and Jody of Millers Tavern; six great-grandchildren, three stepgreat-grandchildren, seven sisters, one brother and one sister-in-law. Mrs. Talley was a 1935 graduate of Sheltering Arms School of Nursing. Remains rest at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2002 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Mechanicsville.

WEAVER
Departed this life September 23, 2002, Mrs. Margaret Drake (Ba Ba) Weaver of 817 Chimborazo Blvd. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St. Funeral notice later.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Woolridge of Richmond will be held Thursday, September 26, 1 p.m., Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6100 Cornerstone Blvd. Rev. Stanley Bennett, pastor, Rev. Kevin Carey officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. Remains will rest in church after 11 a.m. until hour of service. Arrangements by Mimms Funeral Home.

BABER
Lucille Anderson Baber, age 87, of Richmond, died February 26, 2001. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Col. Clinton W. Baber, U.S. Army Ret. Mrs. Baber was a 1939 graduate of the Richmond Division of the College of William and Mary (now VCU). She served as volunteer Director and as Executive Secretary for the Chesterfield County and Henrico County Chapters of the American Red Cross and served on the Board of the American Cancer Society. She and her husband lived for a number of years in the Philippines where she taught English at the American School and studied art. While living in Venezuela, she worked with the American Association of University Women to send young women to graduate schools in the United States and helped establish schools for blind and deaf children. An accomplished artist, Mrs. Baber was a member of the council of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and past president of the Southampton Guild. She was also a member of the Tuckahoe Woman's Club, the Twenty Cotillion, and The Country Club of Virginia. The family will receive friends 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1 at Grace Baptist Church. Interment in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Grace Baptist Church.

BAUGHAN
Margaret Elizabeth Wilson Baughan passed away on February 24, 2001. She was born on July 5, 1915 in Roanoke, Va., where she graduated from Jefferson High School. After graduation, she began working at Woolworth's where she was promoted to a management track and later worked at McKesson Robins. Mrs. Baughan moved to Richmond in 1946 and became a homemaker and mother. An avid reader, she also volunteered at the Dumbarton Library. Mrs. Baughan was a member of Grace and Holy Trinity Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifton Merit Baughan, and is survived by a daughter, Judy Baughan Lankford; and a son, Michael Wilson Baughan, both of Richmond. She also leaves a host of loving family and friends. All who knew her will miss her loving kindness, gentleness, devotion and sense of fun. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 27 at Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 8 N. Laurel Street. Interment in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Grace and Holy Trinity Church or the Salvation Army.

Sarah Jo Crawford Billings, of Richmond, died Saturday, February 24, 2001. She was the daughter of the late Robert B. and Regina S. Crawford of Farmville, Va. She is survived by her husband, William D. Billings; son, Peter Billings of Florence, S.C.; daughter, Nancy Jo Billings of Richmond; four grandchildren, Laura Isner, David Billings, Sally Kwapisz and Peter Kwapisz; and two sisters, Hannah C. Reynolds of Luray, Va. and Regina C. Whitehead of Nashville, Tenn. Mrs. Billings was a member of Sycamore Presbyterian Church. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 27 in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Jean Adams Coats, 75, of Aylett and Mechanicsville, died Sunday, February 25, 2001. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William T. Gilbert. She is survived by her husband, Robert H. "Bob" Coats; four children, Deborah Gilbert Apel of Reno, Nev., Robin Gilbert Lebo of Charlottesville, Susan Coats Cecil and Rebecca Coats Miller, both of Mechanicsville; a stepson, David Wayne Coats of Mechanicsville; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Stinette of Rockville; and an aunt, Ann Robinson of Williamsburg. COGBILL
Wilburn Lee Cogbill, 61, of Chesterfield, departed this life Friday, February 23, 2001 at his home. He is survived by his brother, Tillman (Billy) Cogbill and his wife, Beaulah Elaine Cogbill and her children, Marvin Saul (Martha), James Saul (Edna), Jack Price (Laura), Virginia Gittman (Charles), Alice Dion (David), Linda Dell (Wayne); and their children. Wilburn was retired from Chesterfield County School Board with 23 years of service in the maintenance department. A service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd. Interment at Branch's Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers are welcome or memorial gifts to the New Vision Fund, Second Branch Baptist Church, 12217 Second Branch Rd., Chesterfield, Va. 23838.

CUMBIA
Mr. Alpheus M. Cumbia, age 83, of South Hill, died Monday, February 26, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Cumbia of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Jeanette Cumbia of Hughes, Ark.; two grandsons, Andrew and David Cumbia; and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Wilfred G. Cumbia of Richmond and Robert I. Cumbia Jr. of Brodnax. Mr. Cumbia was a retired food operation manager, a member of Masonic Lodge #297, ACCA Temple Shrine of North America in Richmond, Va. and South Hill Shrine, Scottish Rite Bodies of the Valley of Danville and a member of Providence United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. A.D. Goodson at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28 at Farrar Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial considerations may be directed to Providence United Methodist Church Building Fund, 122 Wilson Rd., LaCrosse, Va. 23950 or the charity of your choice. FREEMAN
Mary Anne Freeman, died on February 25, 2001 in Richmond, Va. She was the widow of General Paul Lamar Freeman Jr. and the daughter of the late Ernest Boone Fishburn and Anne Sewell Davant Fishburn of Roanoke, Va. Mrs. Freeman is survived by her daughter, Anne Sewell Freeman McLeod; son-in-law, Roy Gilbert McLeod; and devoted collie, Mia. Mrs. Freeman, born November 9, 1912 in Roanoke, Va., traveled extensively living in China, South America and Europe during her 34 years as an Army wife. Following their retirement in 1967, the Freemans moved to Hillsborough and Carmel, Calif. She had been a resident of Knollwood Army Retirement Center in Washington, D.C. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 13, at 11 a.m. If attending, please be at the cemetery administration building by 10:20 a.m. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 13, at 1 p.m. at Knollwood, 6200 Oregon Ave., Washington, D.C., with a reception following. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Episcopal Chapel Del Monte, Monterey, Calif., Guide Dogs for the Blind, or Hospice of Central Virginia.
