Died February 25, 2001, Mrs. Martha Ann Hatch Gilliam of 3209 Gaulding Lane. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral notice later.

GLASPIE
John Edward Glaspie, 81, of Richmond, found eternal rest and peace Monday, February 26, 2001. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Dorothy Glaspie; daughter, Beverly Montsinger; granddaughter, Shannon Montsinger; brother, George Glaspie; sister, Charlotte Taylor; several nieces, nephews and their families. He was a WWII veteran, a former treasurer of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, and an honored Trigon Ageless Hero 2000. The most honorable of men, a loving husband and father, he will be missed by all. Family welcomes friends to his memorial service on Wednesday, February 28, at 4:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center at 1201 Broad Rock Blvd. Contributions may be made in his honor to the VA Mid-Atlantic Chapter, Paralyzed Veterans, at 11620 Busy St., Richmond, Va. 23236.

GREGORY
Lois Johnson Gregory, widow of James Robert Gregory Sr., died Monday, February 26, 2001. Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville.

GREGORY
Lucille Osborne Gregory, 94, of Richmond, and formerly of Chase City, went home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2001. She was a homemaker and was dearly loved by all her family and all who knew her. She was the widow of Richard Ernest Gregory and was predeceased by a son, Richard M. Gregory. She is survived by a daughter, Shelby G. Kizer and her husband, Rudolph B. Kizer of Richmond; daughter-in-law, Bonnie E. Gregory of Richmond; five granddaughters, Mary K. Hutchinson, Diane K. Bishop, Mary G. Barnhill, Patricia G. Folk, Vickie G. Whitaker; 13 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle O. Nichols; one sister-in-law, Thelma E. Osborne. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday from Wood Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charles Clay officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Virginia, 7231 Forest Ave., Suite 100, Richmond, Va. 23226 or Bethel Baptist Church, Trottinridge Rd., Chase City, Va. 23924.

GRINSTEAD
James T. Grinstead, 80, of Chesterfield, died February 25, 2001. He was the widower of Margaret Katherine Grinstead. He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Jamie Rogers; daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Steve Tedder; grandchildren, Jennifer, Katherine and Lacey Tedder; sister, Nancy Jane Grinstead; brother, Martin Grinstead. Mr. Grinstead was a combat veteran, serving with the 8th Air Force, 385th Bomb Group during WWII. He was also a life member of Masonic Lodge #74 in Elkton, Va. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10), and where his funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday. Interment Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va. 23058-5216 or charity of choice.

HAMILTON
Jerry R. Hamilton, 65, born October 15, 1935, passed away February 24, 2001 after losing his battle with A.L.S. or Lou Gehrig's Disease. He was a caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margie L. Hamilton; one daughter, Debra L. Sanders; son-in-law, William "Bucky" Sanders; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Daniel Sanders; one sister, Shirley Ann McBride and husband, Mac; two brothers, Donald E. Hamilton and Jean, Bobby W. "Butch" Hamilton; one brother-in-law, Michael G. Goodwin and wife, Dee Dee; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jerry was retired operations manager for KBS Incorporated for 15 years. Jerry felt they all were his family. His remains rest at Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 Henry St., Ashland, Va. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens. HARRIS
George T. Harris, 90, of Glen Allen, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2001. He is survived by two nephews, Claude B. and Billy T. Harris; and a niece, Brenda Berry. Mr. Harris was a WWII Army veteran and was also retired from Virginia Power after more than 40 years of service. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lakeside Rescue Squad.

HARRIS
Miss Rosa S. Harris of Stafford Avenue departed this life February 25, 2001. A dedicated member of Sixth Baptist Church, she is survived by one niece, Mrs. Virginia Johnson; four nephews, George, Howard, Clarence and John W. Scruggs; eight great-nieces, five great-nephews; a host of cousins and friends, devoted, Deaconess Lizzie Robinson, Mr. William H. Harris and the RCAP West End Senior Center. Her remains rest at the W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, 1 p.m. Rev. Dr. Yvonne Jones Bibbs officiating. Interment Riverview Cemetery.

HIGGS
Elizabeth Higgs of 508 W. Clay St. died February 23, 2001. Surviving are four sons, Samuel, Phillip Sr., Walter Sr. and Ellmon James; two daughters, Olivia Chaplin and Vivian Thompson; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, one son-in-law, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. Rev. A. Lincoln James officiating. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens.

Departed this life February 23, 2001, Harvey L. Jefferson of 1404 N. 31st Street. He is survived by his loving wife, Pearline O. Jefferson; four sons, Harvey Jr., Robert L. and Michael Jefferson and Lemuel Johnson; 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annie M. Jones and Vivian Jeffries; one brother, James W. Jefferson; one aunt, Margaret Elliot; several nieces, nephews and cousins; two daughters-in-law, Mary Jefferson and Linda Johnson; three sisters-in-law, Estelle Jefferson, Leola Johnson and Dorothy Jackson; one brother-in-law, Albert Jeffries; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave., where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Ricardo Brown officiating. Interment Quantico National Cemetery. JOHNSON
Frances Waller Palmore Johnson, 83, of Richmond, died Sunday, February 25, 2001. She was the wife of Leon Dibrell Johnson III. She was born in Drewry's Bluff, Va., on July 2, 1917, daughter of Maizie Jeffs Palmore and Marvin Atwell Palmore. She attended Chester High School. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marvel Coover and Virginia Eaton; two brothers, Marvin Palmore Jr. and Bennett Palmore. She was an active and faithful member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, Richmond. She is survived by one brother, Woodrow Wilson Palmore; one daughter, Gail Johnson Morrison and her husband, Frank West Morrison; one son, Leon Dibrell Johnson IV and his wife, Nancy Louise Johnson; six grandchildren, Katherine Gail Hamilton and her husband, David, John Ferguson Heil Jr., Henry Faulkner Heil and his wife, Caroline, Lucy Palmore Heil, Evan David Johnson and Erin Louise Johnson; two stepgrandchildren, Brooks Morrison Trebilcox and her husband, Kent Trebilcox, and John Francis West Morrison; three great-grandchildren, Alison Gail Mayo, Ian Johnson Mayo and Ella Frances Bishop-Heil; and a community of beloved friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10), Richmond. Her funeral service will be conducted at New Covenant Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2001, by Rev. Caroline Price-Gibson. Interment Sunset Memorial Park. Departed this life February 24, 2001, Mrs. Inez Davis Johnson of 806 W. Lancaster Rd. She is survived by her devoted son, Floyd C. White Jr.; one stepson, Charles Collins; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Melba and Vivian Carter; several nieces, among them three devoted, Peggy Johnson, Marie Smith and Carlotta Dixon; several nephews; one stepdaughter-in-law, Donna Collins; a devoted friend, Vera Burrell; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where the family will receive friends Tuesday 7 to 8 p.m. Remains will lie in state Wednesday 12 noon at 31st Street Baptist Church, 823 N. 31st St., where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Dr. Darrel Rollins officiating. Winston; several nieces and nephews; two uncles, Calvin and David Alexander Stokes; three sisters-in-law, Joyce and Tanya Gresham, and Mary Grooms; four brothers-in-law, Carey Sr., Stuart, Kevin and John Gresham; other relatives and friends. Judith Walker Lamborn, wife of John Lamborn, died Monday, February 26, 2001. Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church at 210 S. Main St. in Emporia. The family will receive friends at the residence of 427 Laurel St. in Emporia after the service.

LLOYD
Annie R. Lloyd, 80, of Holly Grove, Va. passed away Monday, February 26, 2001 at Chippenham Medical Center. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Aubrey J. Lloyd; two sons, William E. Lloyd and wife, Nancy of Holly Grove, J. Caroll Lloyd and wife, Diane of Crozier; four grandchildren, Janette and Joshua of Holly Grove, Jennifer and Bradley of Crozier; one sister, R. Natalie Ragland; one brother, Sam Ragland. The family would like to express their thanks to Diane and Brad Easter, her caregivers, for their loving care and devotion. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Holly Grove Christian Church. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 28 at Holly Grove Christian Church with Rev. R. W. MANN
Elizabeth Burton Mann, 84, of Tarris Lane, Chester, died Sunday, February 25, 2001 in Chippenham Medical Center. She was born in Pulaski, Va. and had made her home in the Chester area for the past 60 years. Mrs. Mann was a member of Chester Baptist Church since 1953 and sung in the church choir for the past 25 years. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Cora Price Burton. Mrs. Mann is survived by her husband, Seldon Ayer "Jim" Mann; one daughter, Anne E. Hubbard and her husband, Thurman; two grandchildren, Junior Hubbard, and Bubba Hubbard, all of Chester; two nephews, and many dear friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 27, 2001 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at 10 a.m. in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, with the Rev. Dr. Edward J. Stansfield, pastor of Chester Baptist Church officiating. Lonnie Masters Jr., 66, of Mechanicsville, died February 25, 2001. He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Stephen Masters. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie C. Masters; daughter, June Hanvey; son, Kelton Masters; grandson, Rockey Odom; granddaughters, Melissa Wood and Kayla Hanvey; sisters, Mary Ellen Masters and Frances Morgan; and a brother, Robert Masters. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2001, with burial in Signal Hill Memorial Park.

MORRIS
Elmer H. Morris, 91, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Mary D. Morris; two nieces, May and her husband, Ernie Higgs of Oaksdale, Pa., and Lois Herrod of Pittsburgh, Pa. Services and interment will be private. Reid Funeral Home, Ashland, assisting the family.
