Departed this life September 16, 2001, Maurice C. Daniels of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Daniels Sr. He is survived by his loving mother, Edith C. Coleman Daniels; two sisters, Patricia Green and Edith Chambers; two brothers, Nathaniel Jr. and Charles Daniels; two aunts, Mary Chisom and Hattie Daniels; three uncles, Freddie Coleman Anderson and Albert Daniels Jr.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; one brother-in-law, Allan Green; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave., where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday. Rev. Robert King officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 12:45 p.m. Friday.

DOOLEY
Diane Higdon Dooley, 48, of Midlothian, Va., a sales representative for AAA, passed away September 17, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Wallace L. Dooley; daughter, Kimberly Michelle Dooley; mother, Shirley Higdon; brother, Wayne Higdon. She was presently attending Riversouth Community Church. The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Paris, Mo.

DUNCAN
Mr. Earl "Randy" Duncan, 45, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2001 in the Lewis-Gale Hospital, Salem, Virginia. Randy was a native of Washington County and was preceded in death by his father, Earl "Jack" Duncan. He held various positions with Business Opportunities for the Blind and had been in Roanoke with this organization since 1992. He was a former member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church, Meadowview and was a member of the Edgewood Christian Church, Roanoke, Virginia. Survivors include his wife, Carol Duncan, Roanoke, Va.; his mother, Beulah Poston Duncan, Meadowview, Va.; brothers, Bill Duncan and wife, Sue, Bristol, Va., Fred Duncan and wife, Darlene, Glade Spring, Va., Bobby Duncan, Meadowview, Va., Ralph Duncan and wife, Nancy, N. Augusta, S.C.; sister, Jean Musick and husband, Ronnie, Meadowview, Va.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thanks to a loving caregiver in his last days, Valory Ferguson and to all the doctors and nurses of the Lewis-Gale Hospital and Clinic for the many years of outstanding compassion and care for Randy. The funeral service will be conducted Friday, September 21, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Mt. Carmel Christian Church with Mr. Ronnie Musick and Mr. Larry Atkin, minister, officiating. Interment will follow in the Holston Conference Cemetery, Emory, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes. Foundation, the Juvenile Diabetes Association, the Mt. Carmel Christian Church or to the Edgewood Christian Church Building Fund, Roanoke, Va. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Mt. Carmel Christian Church. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, September 23, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Edgewood Christian Church, Roanoke, Va., with Mr. Larry Atkin and Mr. Marion Harris officiating. FORESMAN
Helen Tilden Williamson Foresman, 79, of Lexington, died Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Mrs. Foresman was born on August 31, 1922 in Charlottesville to the late Lee Tilden Hoomes Williamson and Isabel Howard Perkinson Williamson. She attended Longwood College in Farmville and during WWII she was employed by the Special Services School at Washington and Lee University. After the war, she was an x-ray technician at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was a member of the Stonewall Jackson Hospital Auxiliary for over 40 years and was a past president. She was a long-time member of the R.E. Lee Memorial Episcopal Church. Her great-grandfather was the first professor of engineering at the Virginia military Institute and her grandfather was the chief civilian engineer for the construction of the Panama Canal. Mrs. Foresman married the late Henry Joyce Foresman on April 19, 1952 at the R.E. Lee Memorial Episcopal Church in Lexington. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Isabel Howard Hoyt; and a brother, Lee Tilden Williamson. Mrs. Foresman is survived by four sons, Lt.Col. (P) Henry J. Foresman Jr. of Heidelberg, Germany, Lee G. and Giselle Foresman of Elizabeth City, N.C., Robert H. and Janet Foresman of Lexington, George W. and Gail Foresman of Powhatan; and eight grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, William Howard Williamson of Houston, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews and many granddogs. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2001, at the R.E. Lee Memorial Episcopal Church, according to the Rites of the Book of Common Prayer, by the Rev. Tom O'Dell and the Rev. Kathy Gray. The family will receive visitors at their parent's home on September 20 and 21 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. After the funeral, the family invites all to join them in a celebration of "Miss Helen's" life at G. Willakers at the Inn at Hunt Ridge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the VMI Foundation Williamson or Smith's Scholarship Funds or the Rockbridge Area Hospice. Arrangements by the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.

GARRETT
Robbie Martin Garrett died Saturday, September 15, 2001 at her home in Newport News, Va. Mrs. Garrett was a native of Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mead Beck Garrett. Mrs. Garrett was the daughter of Willie and Lucy Burnett Martin of Hanover. She is survived by her daughter, Melinda Fitzgerald; son-in-law, David Fitzgerald; and granddaughter, India Meade. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday at the Fitzgerald home. Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James Episcopal Church. Interment in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Collegiate Schools in memory of Mrs. Garrett. Arrangements by the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home.

GRESHAM
Earl Thomas Gresham Jr., 83, buisnessman, civic leader and Christian gentleman, departed this life September 19, 2001 in a local hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Gresham was the Chairman of the Board of E.T. Gresham Company, Inc., the multifaceted construction, crane and rigging and industrial services concern, headquartered in Norfolk. He was born to Earl Thomas Gresham Sr. and Kathryne Wells Gresham on October 17, 1917. He graduated in 1940 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in mechanical engineering. He was a registered professional engineer holding Virginia State License number 148. He was preceded in death by a son, Earl Thomas Gresham III and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Trimyer Gresham; a brother, Wells Gresham of Virginia Beach; two sons, William A. Gresham and his wife, Sarah, Richard Wells Gresham and his wife, Jane Johann, both of Norfolk; and four grandchildren. He was known an highly respected for his selfless servant's heart and will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2001, in Talbot Park Baptist Church. The family will be at the residence today from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army-South Hampton Roads Command, Talbot Park Baptist Church, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, or the Norfolk Rotary Charities. Cox Funeral Home, Norfolk, is handling the arrangements.

HOLT
C. Howard Holt, 92, widower of Beulah "Billie" Holt, passed away Monday night, September 17, 2001 at the Hermitage, 1600 Westwood Ave., Richmond, Va. He is survived by one sister, Lorena H. O'Field of Charlottesville; two brothers, Campbell and Clarence Holt of Scottsville. He was a certified public accountant and a member of Huguenot United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., where services will be conducted following the visitation at 1 p.m. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Huguenot United Methodist Church, 10661 Duryea Dr., Richmond, Va. 23235.

JOHNSON
Marcellus Edward Johnson Sr., 67, of Locust Hill, Va., died September 16, 2001. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2001, 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Kilmarnock, Va.

KEVORKIAN
George Kevorkian Sr., 70, departed this life on Tuesday, September 18, 2001, at his home in Deltaville after a courageous struggle with cancer. He was born in Detroit to Hampart and Elmast Kevorkian, both of Armenia. He served four years in the Navy and later earned his B.S. from Virginia Polytechnic University, his M.B.A. from the University of Richmond and Ph.D. from American University. A strong believer in education, Dr. Kevorkian went on to teach at Northern Virginia Community College and at George Mason University. He also traveled and taught at numerous overseas locations, including Germany, Ukraine, Armenia and Jordan during his "retirement." George was a great husband and father and will be dearly missed. He loved fishing, his garden, and his work with relief efforts for the Armenian people. He is survived by his wife, Jerrie Kevorkian; two sons, George Kevorkian Jr. of Vinton, Va. and Jerry Kevorkian of Norfolk, Va.; a daughter, Anoush Wiggins of Poquoson, Va.; three stepdaughters, Shannon Paul and Charlene Wilkins of Alexandria, Va. and Dawn Hogenson of Waldorf, Md.; and 16 grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 23, at St. James Armenian Apostolic Church in Richmond, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad of Deltaville, Va. 23043.

KEYES
Beulah Ford Keyes, 85, formerly of Richmond, died September 17, 2001. She was a homemaker and the widow of Leslie E. Keyes. Burial 2 p.m. Thursday, Hollywood Cemetery.

LESLIE
Departed this life September 17, 2001, Deacon Mack L. Leslie Jr. of 1910 Winder Street. He is survived by his loving wife, Irene R. Leslie; one daughter, Ruth L. Turner; one son, Mack L. Leslie III of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Lakeia D. Smith, Maxine T. Crawford and Sonya A. Reeder; ten great-grandchildren; several cousins, among them, Annie Belle Neverson of Petersburg, Va.; one daughter-in-law, Bernice R. Leslie; son-in-law, James Turner; and other relatives among them, devoted Deacon Wilton Washington; and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral Friday, 1 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, corner of Randolph and Idlewood Avenue, where remains will lie in state one hour prior funeral time. Dr. James Harris (pastor) officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family, friends and organizations assemble at the church 12:45 p.m. Friday.

MARCINKEVICIUS
Mary Clara Marcinkevicius, 87, of Chesterfield, formerly of Richmond Hill, N.Y., went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 19, 2001. She was the widow of Jonas Marcinkevicius and is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Eleanor Marcin of New Jersey, Aldo and Georgia Marcinkevicius of Chesterfield; brother and sister-in-law, Alex and Valentina Nevins of Florida; grandchildren, Daniel, Amy, Michael, David and Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Jonathan and Tyler. Her family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Park.

McLEOD
Norman C. McLeod Sr. died Tuesday, September 18, 2001 in John Randolph Medical Center, Hopewell, Va. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2001 at Gould Chapel, Nelsen Funeral Home, Hopewell. A celebration of life service with be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gould Chapel by the Rev. Norman B. McLeod. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. MORRIS
Catherine Morris was born September, 13, 1908 in Cirencester, England and passed away on September 12, 2001 in Richmond where she has lived for the past 30 years. She was the oldest of 11 children born to Thomas Edward Rowley Morris and Bessie Louise Wheeler Morris. Survivors include two sisters, Josephine Hogg and Mary Morris; two brothers, Martin Morris and John Morris; and her goddaughter, Rosemary Griffin, all of Cirencester, England. Her many friends in Richmond will always remember her as a very cheerful and loving person. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, September 24 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 1214 Wilmer Ave. Burial in Hollywood Cemetery. It would be her wish that everyone be at peace with themselves and perform an act of kindness for someone today, tomorrow and the next.

NELSON
Noah "Gip" Nelson, 84, of Powhatan, died September 18, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Judith H. Nelson; two daughters, Sharon N. Berger of Amherst, Robin G. Capps of Cumberland; two sisters, Kathleen Speas of Farmville and Beck Travis of Farmville. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in the Muddy Creek Baptist Church, Powhatan. Interment Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Muddy Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.

OREM
Louise Payne Orem, 87, of Callao died September 18, 2001. She was the widow of Leonard F. Orem, and a lifelong member of Coan Baptist Church. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Len and Gail Orem of Callao and son, Frank Orem of Richmond; grandsons, Mike and Chris Apostolides, Taylor and Grant Orem; sisters, Margaret Kent and Lillian Balderson, both of Lottsburg. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Apostolides. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Friday at Jones-Ash Funeral Home, Rainswood. Interment Coan Baptist Cemetery, Heathsville. Friends may call 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Callao Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 92, Callao, Va.

PAINTER
Beverly Elaine Painter, 30, beloved daughter of W. Ellis and Lynda M. Painter, went to be with our Lord on September 18, 2001. Besides her parents she is survived by her brother, Christian D. Painter; her sister, Kathy P. Thompson; and nephew, James A. Painter. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 22, at 2 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd.
