Departed this life June 21, 2001 Bobby Lee Miller. Loving father, caring brother, and devoted friend to his children, Steven L. (Wandra) Mabry, Jusolyn "Kiscia" Mabry, Bobby L. Mimms, Cynthia and Allen Kilpatrick and Bobby Lee Mabry; a host of grandchildren; siblings, George C. Miller, Susan W. Muhammad, Lucille Baskerville, David Miller and Linda Edmond; his devoted friend, Lelia Jean "Nene" Battle; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including his estranged wife, Mary Miller. Memorial services will be conducted on Thursday, 3 p.m., from Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. with Pastor Alfred Nicholson officiating,

MILLS
David L. Mills, beloved husband of Symone B. Scales, died on Friday, June 22, 2001. Mr. Mills and his wife formed IMAX Investments Company in 1997, a real estate development and management company, to fulfill his vision of providing quality housing for low and moderate income families in the Barton Heights community on Richmond's Northside. David Mills, a native of Columbus, Ohio, played professional basketball in the American Basketball League in Hawaii and Oakland, Calif. before entering Seattle University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Mr. Mills and Ms. Scales also maintained a residence in Seattle, where Mr. Mills held executive and administrative positions from 1980-1997. Mr. Mills was the president and owner of Crystal Building Maintenance Company, a commercial janitorial and maintenance firm. Mr. Mills was a tireless community worker both in Richmond and in Seattle. He ran voter registration programs in Seattle; was active in his fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi, serving as Western Province Polemarch and was active in civic associations in the Barton Heights neighborhood. A strong advocate of self-sufficiency, Mr. Mills always challenged those around him to expand their horizons. He also believed that with hard work all things are possible. To commemorate the life and work of Mr. Mills, his wife will place a bronze plaque at the site on Barton Avenue where he worked and died. In lieu of flowers, those who share Mr. Mills' vision and hope for a stronger community can express their support by making a donation for pavers which will be set around the commemorative plaque. The pavers will be engraved with each donor's name as you wish it to appear. Also, include your address and telephone number. Checks should be made payable to the David L. Mills Commemorative Fund, P.O. Box 26085, Richmond, Va. 23260. For additional information, call 804-321-7504. There will be a visitation for friends on Wednesday, June 27, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Boulevard, Richmond, Va. Funeral services will be private.

MOSELEY
Stella C. Moseley, of Brodnax, died June 25, 2001. Survived by three daughters, Joyce Smith, Brenda Williams and Vicki Jones; a son, Larry W. Moseley, all of Brodnax; two sisters, Hazel Etter of Richmond and Maude Smith of LaCrosse; a brother, Ed Corum of South Hill; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Departed this life June 22, 2001, Mrs. Bessie P. Patterson of 1611 4th Ave. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Patterson Sr. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Georgianna P. Faulk and Darlene P. Chappelle; one son, James E. Patterson Sr.; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, among them, Jean Satchell, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Lorraine S. Patterson; one son-in-law, Rev. Linwood Faulk Sr.; and other relatives and friends, among them, Dorothy P. Williams and Gloria Byrd. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 1 p.m., Triumphant Baptist Church, 2003 Lamb Ave., where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. DeLano J. "Lano" Peoples Sr. of Richmond entered eternal rest June 21, 2001. Cherishing his memory are his son, DeLano J. Peoples Jr.; and daughter, DeAsijah Cobb; parents, Crystal M. and Carlston Moore; one brother, Carlston C. Moore; grandmother, Florence B. Page Sawyer Rainey, 86, of Dinwiddie County, died Monday, June 25, 2001. A native of Princess Anne County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Julian Crawford and Mary Cecil Hewitt Rainey. She was the widow of Charles A. Rainey Sr. Mrs. Rainey is survived by a daughter, Mary Rainey Chappell of Virginia Beach; two sons, Charles A. Rainey Jr. of Dinwiddie and Donald P. Rainey of Gloucester; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roger H. Sawyer. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 at Smyrna Baptist Church, Dinwiddie. Interment will follow at the Rainey Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. RAMSEY
Miss Nannie S. Ramsey, 101, died June 24, 2001. She was a long-term second grade teacher at Charlotte Elementary School. She is survived by a niece, Diane Watkins Ramsey; nephews, William Jasper Ramsey, Charles Burdette Ramsey, and Terrill Watkins Ramsey; a great-niece, Wanda Frances Ramsey; great-nephews, Robert Hutcheson Ramsey, William Burdette Ramsey, and David Quinn Ramsey; and a sister-in-law, Frances Stallings Ramsey. She was preceded in death by sisters, Sarah Comfort Kirchmier and Eliza Terrill Emery; and brothers, Frank Benjamin Watkins Ramsey and William Burdette Ramsey. Her remains rest at Browning Funeral Home, Keysville, Va., where the family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Village Presbyterian Church. STABLES
Steven F. Stables, 49, of Midlothian, passed away June 23, 2001. A graduate of the University of Delaware, he was a finance executive for Household Finance Company. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Stables of Alloway, N.J.; son, Stefan Travis Stables; brother, Com. Thomas B. Stables, USN; and the mother of his son, Frances Diane Moser, all of Midlothian. Mr. Stables was a member of the Moose Lodge #1840 and Ducks Unlimited. A memorial service will be held Thursday, 1 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Richmond Animal League.

STEWART
Odette (Tommy) Stewart, 83, of Midlothian, died June 24, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert L. Stewart; a son, John W. Stewart and his wife, Nancy D. Stewart; a granddaughter, Michelle N. Stewart; a grandson, Michael J. Stewart; two sisters, Heloise B. Fox and Carroll B. Hebert; a brother, John H. Bruns. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippnham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a Christian Wake service at 7:30 p.m.. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

William (Bill) Marvin Storms, age 25, of Richmond, died suddenly Saturday, June 23, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester (Buzz) Marvin Storms. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth H. Storms; a brother, Bryan K. Storms of Richmond; grandmother, Mrs. Jessie M. Harrison of Tappahannock; aunt, Betty S. Rock of Tappahannock; uncle and aunt, Hubert (T.T.) and Wanda V. Hobbs of Ohio; numerous first and second cousins and friends. Remains rest at Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., where the family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday. STRANGE
Hutchins B. Strange, 92, died Sunday, June 24, 2001 at Brandermill Health Care Center, Midlothian, Va. Mr. Strange retired from the Continental Can Company as a Regional Sales Director, and was a charter member of Crestwood Presbyterian Church. He is survived by a sister, Cora S. McKinnon of Los Angeles, Calif.; and two very special families, the Hollowell and Wood families. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Crestwood Presbyterian Church. Interment Hollywood Cemetery.

SVATOS
Joseph Svatos of Richmond died Monday, June 25, 2001. He was retired from Reynolds Metals. Survivors include his wife, Lorie Svatos; sons, Keith Svatos, Kurt Svatos; daughter, Laura Brazeau; and grandchildren, Sarah and Adam. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., where a funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday. TAYLOR
Mrs. Sadie Augustus Taylor, age 103, died June 24, 2001, at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Isaiah Taylor, and is survived by a daughter, Ruth Augustus Taylor; three nieces, Anita Turner Mills, Charlotte Stokes Cheatham, and Julia Turner Brown; many great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 27, at 2 p.m. at Third Street Bethel A.M.E. Church, 614 N. Nancy Gayle Wilton, age 77, died Sunday, June 25, 2001. She was the widow of George D. Wilton Sr. and a lifelong member of Deep Run Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, George Wilton Jr. and his wife, Ann; two daughters, Marsha W. Hall and her husband, Arthur M. Jr. and Linda Grubbs and her husband, Howard; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Tuesday at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St., Glen Allen. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Westhampton Memorial Park. BORRELL
Clifton Edward "Ed" Borrell, 84, of Chesterfield and formerly of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. went to be with the Lord, May 24, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy R. Borrell; daughter, Naomi Woodward; granddaughter, Dorothy L. Lawson; great-granddaughter, Leah N. Lawson of Richmond; sisters-in-law, Marion Ferguson and Kitty Hawkins of Roanoke Rapids. Mr. Borrell was a U.S. Army WWII and Pearl Harbor veteran where he was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and a retired equipment maintenance leader, from D.G.S.C. (Bellwood) with 24 years service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bermuda Memorial Park. If desired, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
