Arthur Beverly Garnett, age 67, died May 13, 2001. Born December 16, 1933. Survived by son, Marty T. Martin. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

HARRIS
Richard E. "Bill" Harris, 74, of Richmond, went to be with our Lord on Monday, May 14, 2001. He was the widower of Annie G. Harris and is survived by his daughters, Linda Keener, Evelyn McKnight; son, Joel W. Harris; grandsons, Brian C. Keener, R. Taylor Ware and great-grandson, Brian Christopher Keener Jr. Mr. Harris was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran. His family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Midlothian Baptist Church, 11840 Lucks Lane, Midlothian, Va. 23113.

HUDSON
Richard Allen Hudson, age 43, of Chesterfield, died Saturday, May 12, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett L. Hudson Sr. He is survived by two sons, Jonathan "Blake" and Daniel "Weston" Hudson; his mother, Dorothy O. Hudson; two brothers and two sisters, Emmett L. Hudson Jr., Patricia Bezjak, Stephen Hudson, Sandra Thomas; many special close friends, and other relatives. Richard was a custom cabinet designer. His remains will rest at Oak Forest Baptist Church, 5101 Courthouse Rd., Chesterfield, Tuesday, May 15, 2001 from 6 to 8 p.m. and where services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at Oak Forest Baptist Church. Interment at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Massey Cancer Center Foundation. If you desire to send flowers, please deliver to the the church. JONES
Martha Clopton Jones passed peacefully at her home on May 11, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 1, 1923, in Richmond, Va., the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Clopton. She attended Westhampton College in Richmond, where she met and married Bertram Alfred Jones on May 18, 1943. They were happily married for 56 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bertram A. Jones; and a son, Robert Barrow Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Jones Pearman of Wake Forest; three granddaughters, Kristine Clements and Patricia Holoman, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Megan Smith of Wilmington, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Steven and Sarah Clements of Atlanta, and Jillian Smith of Wilmington. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Rex Cancer Center and to Hospice of Wake County for their dedicated care and treatment of Mrs. Jones during her illness. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2001, in the Chapel of Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on Millbrook Road, Raleigh, N.C. Interment will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary's Street, Raleigh, N.C. 27605.

KIGHT
Marshall William Kight, 58, of Colonial Heights, VA., went to be with his Savior on Sunday, May 13, 2001 at Medical College of Virginia Hospital. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., was a welder for Elliott & Associates and was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Blanche Plant Kight. He is survived by his wife, Patricia W. Kight; five children, Kurt W. Kight Sr. of Mechanicsville, Karen Lynette Kight of Chesterfield, Kris Kight, Kelly Kight and Kenneth M. Kight, all of Colonial Heights; two grandchildren, Kurt W. Kight Jr. and Richard H. Kight, both of Mechanicsville; his father, Mr. Carlton E. Kight of Chesapeake; and a sister, Kathryn Lillard of Charlotte N.C. A funeral service will be Thursday, May 17, 2001, at 2 p.m. in Colonial Heights Baptist Church, 231 Chesterfield Ave., Colonial Heights with the Rev. Terry Harper and Rev. Rodney Sprayberry officiating. Burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights. Flowers are welcomed or contributions may be made to the Colonial Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 231 Chesterfield Ave., Colonial Heights, Va. 23834.

KINNEY
Adelle E. Kinney, 86, of Richmond, formerly of Falls Church, widow of Earl J. Kinney, passed away Monday, May 14, 2001. She is survived by two sons and their spouses, Gary E. and Cindy P. Kinney of Glen Allen, and Bernard E. and Loreen Kinney of San Jose, Calif.; three grandchildren, Gary E. and Cathy Kinney Jr., David M. and Abbie Kinney, and Teresa Kinney; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kinney was a member of St. James' Catholic Church, Falls Church, for over 25 years and was a member of the Women of St. James'. Remains rest at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad Street, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and where a service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be held later in Waterford, New York. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to a charity of choice.

LEAKE
Anne Hunter Leake, 81, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2001. She is survived by three sisters, Cathryne L. Slaughter of Reedville, Lucy L. West and Margaret Coleman Leake, both of Richmond; and a niece and nephew. Miss Leake was a graduate of Farmville State Teachers College, now Longwood College, and taught at Varina and Highland Park Elementary Schools. She was a member of Hanover Avenue Christian Church. A service will be held 11 a.m. today at the graveside in Hollywood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers, to the Maymont Foundation, 1700 Hampton St., Richmond, Va. 23230.

McKINNEY
Richard (Mac) H. McKinney, 70, of Richmond, went to be with our Lord on Monday, May 14, 2001. He was preceded in death by his sons, Steve and Ricky McKinney. Mr. McKinney is survived by his daughters, Lisa Morgan, Martha Lee, Susan Alley; sons, Mike and Cecil McKinney; sisters, Mae Turner, Gracie Williams; brother, Roy McKinney; 12 grandchildren and will be missed by his beloved animals and all who knew him. Mr. McKinney was a Korean War veteran. His family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday ast the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.

MOORE
Thomas J. Moore, 62, of Richmond, formerly of Halifax, Va., died Friday, May 11, 2001. He is survived by a sister, two nieces, and a nephew. Mr. Moore was an attorney with the State Corporation Commission for 30 years. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Halifax Memorial Gardens in South Boston, Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1101 Horsepen Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229.

MURCHINSON
William E. Murchinson of 1409 Bryan St. departed this life Saturday, May 12, 2001. Professional services provided by Crawley Funeral Home, 3810 Meadowbridge Rd. Funeral notice later.

PARRISH
Leigh O. Parrish Jr., 92, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord May 11, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace B. Parrish; and two grandchildren, Grady Daniel and Billy Hinton. He is survived by his children, Doris P. Hinton and her husband, Bill, Joyce P. Hatch and her husband, Arland and Patricia P. Daniel and her husband, Harry; five grandchildren, Debra Reid, Brad Daniel, Laura Buchholz, Steve and Sandy Hatch; 11 great-grandchildren, Chris, Carey, James and Philip Hinton, Lindsey and Josh Reid, Nathan, Kathleen and Caroline Buchholz, and Michael and Sebrina Hatch. Mr. Parrish was a longtime member of Ginter Park Baptist Church. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, followed by interment in Dale Memorial Park.

Departed this life May 12, 2001, Deacon John W. Roane of 5162 Old Quaker Rd., Mechanicsville. He is survived by five sons, Rev. John L. Jr., Rev. Floyd M., Rev. David M., Frank W. and Linwood I. Roane; two daughters, Delores E. Roane and Nannie R. Davis; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews; four daughters-in-law, Joanne M., Carrie L., Deborah W. and Janine Z. Roane; one son-in-law, Henry Davis Jr.; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St. Remains will lie in state Wednesday, 12 noon at Rock Hill Baptist Church, Hanover County, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Rev. Phillip Knight officiating. Burial church cemetery.

SCHNEIDER
Rose F. Schneider, 86, of Richmond, died Sunday, May 13, 2001. She was the widow of Harry Schneider. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gerry and Roland Specter of Petersburg; her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Sandy Schneider of Richmond; her brother, Louis Feldman of Norfolk; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Richmond Beth-el Cemetery, Forest Lawn.

Bertha M. Starkes of Glen Allen, Va., departed this life Sunday, May 13, 2001. She is survived by her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Nancy Starkes; grandchildren, Katina, Damien and John; great-grandchildren, Kamille, Jalynn and Evan "Buster"; devoted sister, Doris Harris; devoted nephews, Howard James, Robert Coleman and Robert Sampson; several nieces, devoted Edna James, Rhonda McIntosh, Barbara Mines (Eddie). Dan C. Trent Jr., 47, of Spotsylvania, died Sunday morning of cancer. Mr. Trent is survived by his wife of 27 years, Karen Trent; a daughter, Jennifer Adkins of Stafford; a son, Christopher Trent of Spotsylvania; a grandson; his parents, Janet and Dan Trent of Richmond; and a sister, Wanda Bage of Richmond. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2001. Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m. at Dale Memorial Park in Chesterfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. WALTON
John Moses "Toby" Walton, 79, of Shacklefords, Va., died Monday, May 14, 2001. He had served in the US Army during WWII in the 104th Division "Timberwolves" 929 Field Artillery. John retired from Cheatham Annex after 35 years as a civil service employee. He was a member of King and Queen Ruritan Club and Old Church United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jessie Walton; two daughters and their husbands, Robyn and Chris Vincent of West Point, Beverly and Willard Norris Jr. of Deltaville; a brother, Walter C. Walton of Gloucester; six grandchildren, Christopher Vincent and his wife, Jocelyn, Benjamin and Jessica Vincent, Brad, Jonathan and Ryan Norris; and a great-granddaughter, Camryn Vincent. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Vincent Funeral Home, West Point, Va., with interment in Old Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Departed this life May 13, 2001, Mr. Aaron (Slim) Williams Jr. of 9077 New Bethesda Rd., Mechanicsville. He is survived by four brothers, Thomas Williams (Edith), Alvin Williams (Doris), Lloyd Williams and Steward Williams (Vernell); two sisters, Beulah Baxter and Ruth Dandridge; a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
