Rebecca W. Porter
The funeral for Rebecca Witcher Porter, 88, of Martinsville, who died Nov. 27, 2005, was held Saturday at Mt. Sinai Apostle Church. Bishop James C. Richard Jr. officiated. Burial was in Carver Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were William Hairston, Dennis Walker, Nathaniel Carter, Lewis Martin, Eulisha Edmonds and Eddie Flood.
Hairston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mildred S. Robertson
Mildred S. Robertson, 87, of 70 Taylor Rd., Collinsville, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born in Francisco, N.C., on Nov. 29, 1918, to Fletcher Smith and Carrie Smith. She was a long-time resident of Collinsville and a member of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville. She was employed by DuPont for seven years and the Henry County School System for 19 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Linnie Mae Smith and Cornelia Thurman, and a son, Fredrick M. Robertson.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Fredrick E. Robertson of the home; two sons, Donald L. Robertson of Stoneville, N.C. and Mark L. Robertson of Roanoke; four sisters, Margaret Flippin of Lexington, N.C., Lois Hill of Dublin, Helen Knott of Martinsville and Dorlee Barnett of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and a brother, Jack Smith of Mt. Airy, N.C.; six grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Collinsville with the Rev. Carlton McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Norris Funeral Services.

James L. Tilley
James Leonard Tilley, 90, of 264 Dillon Fork Road, Fieldale, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at Wright Adult Home.
He was born in Patrick County on Sept. 1, 1915, to William Arthur Tilley and Martha Martin Tilley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Rakes Tilley; a sister, Louise Tilley Sapp; and two brothers, Russell Tilley and Clyde Tilley.
He served in the Army with the rank of Technician Fourth Grade in the 32nd Division serving in the Pacific during World War II. He was retired from Fieldcrest Mills and was a member of the Fieldale Lions Club, American Legion Bassett Post 11, VFW Post 463 and Fieldale Baptist Church. He was the Legionnaire of the Year 1984.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda T. Price of Bassett and Judy T. Capito of Naples, Fla.; two brothers, Richard Tilley and Perry Tilley, both of Collinsville; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Collins Funeral chapel with Dr. Joe Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends for one hour before the service.
Memorials may be made to VFW Ford Post 4637, Attn. Posey Young, 220 Old Well Road, Spencer, Va. 24165.

William D. Turner Sr.
The funeral for William David Turner Sr., 62, of Bassett, who died Nov. 28, 2005, was held Saturday at Norris Funeral Services chapel. The Revs. Roger Jones and Bud Sedwick officiated. Burial was in Henry Memorial Park with military rites given by the Martinsville and Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers were Jamie Cannaday, Jeff Nelson, Mike Mays, Eddie Brown, James Yale, Earl Arthur and Rod Withrow.

Barbara L. Tuttle
A graveside service for Barbara Lusk Tuttle, 73, of Martinsville, who died Nov. 30, 2005, was held Saturday at Roselawn Burial Park with the Rev. Lewis Harris officiating.
Pallbearers were Jim Lusk, J. Lusk, Maynard Lusk, Joe Lusk, Randy Cook, Page Arnold and Hilbert Campbell.
Arrangements were by McKee-Stone Funeral Services.

Larry B. West
STUART -- Larry Bennett West, 48, of Stuart, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Patrick County on Jan. 5, 1957, to Glidewell Frank West and Verna Mae Turman West. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He served in the Air Force.
Surviving is a sister, Linda Hubbard of Meadows of Dan..
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the West family cemetery with military rites given by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to the Vesta Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 238, Vesta, Va. 24177.
Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is in charge of arrangements.

Richard A. Williams
STUART -- Richard Aaron Williams, 77, of Port Republic, Md.,died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at Blue Ridge Nursing Center.
He was born in Patrick County on Nov. 26, 1928, to Virgil R. Williams and Lowell Conner Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lane C. Williams, Dorn V. Williams and Billy D. Williams.
He was president of Williams Lumber Company Inc.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Peggy Tatum Williams of the home; two sons, Richard Steven Williams of Montross and Michael Keith Williams of Hagerstown, Md.; four sisters, Betsy W. Bowling and Carol W. Vernon, both of Stuart, Sue W. Griffith of Boones Mill and Sherry W. Meng of Lexington, S.C.; four brothers, Chris V. Williams, Buddy E. Williams, Mica Williams and Gary C. Williams, all of Stuart; three grandchildren; and six great-granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with the Revs. Bucky Hunsicker and Jack Foley officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour before the service.
Memorials may be made to Bouldin Memorial Presbyterian Church, c/o Virginia Hopkins, 343 Central Academy Road, Stuart, Va.

Donald L. Barker
Donald "Donnie" Lloyd Barker, of 214 Park Street, Martinsville, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville.
Arrangements will be announced by Community Funeral Services.

Susie W. Cockram
LAUREL FORK -- Susie Annie Worley Cockram, 93, formerly of Sanville, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Laurel Meadows Nursing Home.
She was born on March 8, 1912, to Thomas Henry Worley and Jaythanna Rosiebell McAlexander Worley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lincoln Cockram; an infant child; a daughter, Rosie C. Turner; a sister, Lilly Woods; and seven brothers, Matthew Woods, John Worley, Benjamin Worley, Josh Worley, Issac Worley, Jes Worley and Walter Worley.
Surviving are a daughter, Annie Cockram of Sanville; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and two step-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at the Moody Funeral Home chapel in Stuart. Burial will be in the Conner family cemetery.

Linda M. Richards
The funeral for Linda Faye Meeks Richards, 45, of Martinsville, who died Thursday, was held Sunday at Norris Funeral Services chapel with the Rev. Tim Satterfield officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park.
Pallbearers, were Brian Richards, Charles Jones, Mike Hardy, Jason Richards, Wayne Kidd and Mark Richards.

James L. Tilley
The funeral for James Leonard Tilley, 90, of Fieldale, who died Thursday, was held Sunday at Collins Funeral Services with Dr. Joe Bryant officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park with military honors given by the Martinsville and Henry County Honor Guard and the Army Reserve Unit of Salem.
Pallbearers, were Paul Rakes, Wes Tilley, Patrick Price, Stephen Price, David Capito III and Russell Tilley. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren Trey, Patrick, Stephen and Christian.
