BUTLER
Earl Lloyd Butler, age 72, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, a former member of the Asbestos Workers Local #88 and was in automobile sales and management for a number of years. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Long Butler; a son, Kenny and his wife, Kim Butler; a daughter, Carol Gaines and her husband, John; a son, Ron and his wife, Janine Butler; one sister, Shirley Ford and her husband, Winton; six grandchildren, Holley, Carrie and Andrew Butler, Michael Gaines and William and LeAnn Butler. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight (Thursday) at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad St., Glen Allen, where the funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missionary Fund of Immanuel Baptist Church, 3601 Monument Ave., Richmond, Va. 23230 or to the Hospice of Central Virginia, 7231 Forest Ave., Suite 100, Richmond, Va. 23226.

COATS
Martha Jean Moore Coats, 64, of Mechanicsville, formerly of Laurens, S.C., died Wednesday, April 4, 2001. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David Wayne and Deborah Bezdan Coats; two grandchildren, Chris and Sarah; two brothers, Frank Moore of Lexington, S.C., and Charles Moore of Trenton, Ga.; two nieces, Linda Templeton and Jean Roper of Laurens, S.C. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, 9283 Atlee Station Rd., Mechanicsville. Phillip H. Custalow Sr., 61, of Manquin, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Colleen Custalow; five children, Teresa Rose, Ted Shuey, Tony Shuey, Phillip Custalow Jr., and Angela Pisano; nine grandchildren, two sisters, Christine Custalow and Joyce Cornell; four brothers, Otho, Curtis, Bernard and David Custalow. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment Mattaponi Baptist Church Cemetery, King William County.

DUNN
Margaret M. Dunn, 74, of Varina, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Dunn. She will be greatly missed by her son, Randy Dunn; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Dunn; two granddaughters, Mandi and Nikki Dunn; one sister, Isabella Maitland; other family members and friends; and her faithful friend "Pretty". Mrs. Dunn was a retired employee of American Filtronia Company. Remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, and where services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment Washington Memorial Park. Paul Edward "Crow" Fuechslin Jr., 51, of Western Street, Hopewell, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at his residence. Mr. Fuechslin was born in Bellevue, Pa. He is survived by his mother, Edith M. Anderson Fuechslin of Chester; father, Paul Edward Fuechslin of Saegertown, Pa.; three sisters, Linda Geisler of Saegertown, Pa., Lee Ann Roope of Richmond, Donna Lee Ramsey of Silver Spring, Md.; a nephew, Jason Roope of Richmond; and niece, Erika Ramsey of Silver Spring, Md., and many loving friends. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 6, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be private. GIOVENCO
Mary Antonia Giovenco (nee Capizzi), 89, of Richmond, formerly of Hoboken, N.J., died Wednesday, April 4, 2001. She was the beloved mother of Robert Giovenco; mother-in-law of Antoinette Giovenco, and beloved Nanni of Maria and Carmen; and devoted friend of Joseph Zotto of New Jersey. Her remains rest at Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and where a Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 1 p.m. Friday at St. Bridget's Catholic Church. Interment 11 a.m. Tuesday, Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington, N.J. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Mercy Home for Boys and Girls c/o Fr. HAWK
Samuel Binford "Bin" Hawk, 77, of Maidens, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 1, 2001. He is survived by four sisters, Edith Whiteside of Chesterfield, Marguriette Parrish of Bumpass, Mary Pinney of Goochland, Jean Harris of Maidens; four brothers, Edward and Elmer Hawk of Goochland, Robert Gay Hawk of Arizona, Earl Hawk of Florida; and a devoted brother-in-law, Bobby Harris of Maidens. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive him. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Elpis Christian Church, Maidens, Va. Charlie Jones, 88, of Winterpock (Chesterfield County) died Tuesday, April 3, 2001. He is survived by two daughters, Arletha Mann and Amanda Evans; two sons-in-law, Milton and Calvin Evans; one daughter-in-law, Rosalee Jones; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts., where funeral services will be held Friday, April 6, 1 p.m., Rev. Anthony Rudd officiating. Interment in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Chesterfield County. Relatives and friends attending funeral services, assemble at the funeral home Friday, 12:30 p.m.

JONES
Murrah Ellen Jones, 77, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Riverside Regional Medical Center. Born in Phenix, Va., she had been a resident of Greenville, N.C., until moving to Hampton in 1990. Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Billie Carroll Dew of Topsail Beach, N.C.; sons, Alton Wayne Jones of Texas, Larry B. Jones of Richmond and Don L. Jones of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Flossie C. Lewis; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2001, at the funeral home.

Helga G. Knapp, 51, of Chesterfield, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Robert R. Knapp; five children, Jacqueline Bell, Robin Knapp, David Knapp, Sandra Hall and Martina Smith; her mother, Franziska Goettel; her brother, Bernd Goettel; and 11 grandchildren. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and where services will be held 7 p.m. Friday. MILLS
Mary Lou Morecock Mills, 68, of Richmond, Va., recent widow of Thomas L. Mills after 47 years of marriage, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Terrill and her husband, Bruce, Patricia "Pam" Hood and her fiance, Jeff Hall; one sister, Rose Marie McGlade of Lynchburg; and also two granddaughters, Ashley and Jenny Hood. Mrs. Mills was a retired employee of First Virginia Bank. The family will receive friends Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where services will be held Friday 1 p.m. Interment Mount Calvary Cemetery. NEAL

OKSMAN
Edith Oksman died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in Boca Raton, Fla. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Oksman; and her dear brother, Alvin Schwietzer, both of whom she now joins. She was born in Jamaica, N.Y., and educated at Pratt Institute. She was an interior designer and member of ASID and an owner, with her husband, of Oxford House, a fine furniture store in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was also a past president of the Great Neck, N.Y., Garden Club. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Pamela Oksman of Portsmouth, Va.; her daughter, Amy Rodriguez of Boca Raton, Fla.; and her beloved grandchildren, Carly Oksman, Delaney Oksman, Elena Rodriguez and Max Rodriguez. She will be remembered fondly for her loving affection for family members, her loyalty to friends, her love of animals, and her indomitable spirit. Funeral notice later.

PATRICK
Roy D. Patrick, lieutenant colonel, USAF (retired), 70, of 497 Lakeview Drive, Fairfield Glade, Tenn., died Monday, April 2, 2001, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born January 16, 1931, in Louisa, Ky., the son of Marion and Hazel Hardeman Patrick. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1975 following 23 years of devoted service in eight states and five foreign countries, he worked as the first chief of administrative services for the Chesterfield, Va., Fire Department until March of 1993. Mr. Patrick was a member of Gideons International and the Retired Officers Association, as well as a deacon at Fairfield Glade Baptist Church. Also preceded in death by a sister, Florence McGinnis, he is survived by his wife, Betty L. (Willis) Patrick; four daughters, Rhonda K. Patrick of Hopewell, Va., Karen P. Knutsen of Halden, Norway, Debra E. Thompson of Petersburg, Va., Kimberly D. Patrick of Prince George, Va.; and two sons, Mark S. Patrick, commander, USN, of Lorton, Va., and Bryan K. Patrick of Harrisburg, Pa.; a brother, Ralph E. Patrick of Flatwoods, Ky.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 6, in the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd. The interment, with military honors, will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight, Thursday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in his memory to Gideons International.
