Parnell. W. Gravely
The funeral for Parnell Wilson Gravely, 88, of Axton, who died Dec. 8, 2005, was held Monday at Norris Funeral Service with the Rev. Joe Shockley officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park.
Pallbearers were Junior Amos, David Amos, Ryan Amos, Allen Wright, Charles Wilson and Jimmy Keatts.

Sharon K. Huff
The funeral for Sharon K. "Suzi" Huff, 35, of Ridgeway, who died Dec. 8, 2005, was held Monday at Temple of Faith with Pastor Bobby Lawson and Minister David Shelton officiating. Burial was in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Greg Pigg, Wayne Whisnant, Michael Cheshire, Jeff Pigg, Johnny Joyce and Mike Solomon.

Lafayette Jones
The funeral for Lafayette Cartella Jones, 59, of Martinsville, who died Dec. 7, 2005, was held Monday at Hairston Funeral Home with the Revs. Ruben Boyd and Louis Oliver officiating. Burial was in Carver Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Patrick Green, Jawayne Gravely, Ronald Gravely, Jesse Goode Jr., Andre' Gravely and Butch Ingram.

Arthur B. Koger
Arthur "Burr Head" Brown Koger, 89, of 1313 Daniels Creek Road, Collinsville, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Virginia on Dec. 7, 1916, to Lem Koger and Carrie Joyce Koger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille F. Koger; three sisters, Nannie Sue Miller, Pauline Arnold and Ruby Layman; and three brothers, Alvin "Bulldog" Koger, Wade "Spider" Koger and Hughes "Popeye" Koger.
Koger was a World War II veteran and retired as a machinist with the American Truck Body Company. He was a member of the Pythians and the First Baptist Church of Collinsville.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Koger of Collinsville; a sister, Betty Fulcher of Fieldale; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Norris Funeral Services with the Rev. Carlton McDaniel and Walter Brown officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.

Vera E. Martin
The funeral for Vera Lee Eggleston Martin, 77, of Martinsville, who died Dec. 10, 2005, was held Monday at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with the Rev. George Harris officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dean Joyce, Doug Joyce, Ralph Stone, Mike Eggleston, Dean Eggleston, Sean Brown, David Purcell and Marty Staiger.

Roy O'Leary Sr.
The funeral for Roy Clayton O'Leary Sr., 63, of Trinity Mission, Rocky Mount, who died Dec. 8, 2005, was held Monday at Collins Funeral Services in Bassett. The Rev. Michael Harrison officiated. Burial was in the Hodges family cemetery in Rocky Mount.
Pallbearers were Alvin Hall, Harold Jones, Tim O'Leary, Cory O'Leary, Allen Bowers, John Snead, Jay Joyce, Archie Hodges and Trey Harris.

Nannie Wade
WILLIS -- A funeral for Nannie Wade, 96, of Willis, who died Dec. 6, 2005, at Carilion Hospital in Radford, was held Friday at Maberry Funeral Home in Floyd. The Rev. Norman Goad officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
She was born Feb. 13, 1909, in the Black Ridge section of Floyd County to Henry and Belle Underwood Hylton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordan Wade; and five sisters.
Surviving are a son, Melvin Wade of Willis; and several nieces and nephews, including five in the Martinsville, Bassett and Woolwine areas.

Estelle D. Cox
Estelle Doyle Cox, 96, of 5060 Preston Road, Martinsville, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at Blue Ridge Rehab in Martinsville.
Arrangements will be announced by Collins Funeral Services.

Myrtle P. Boyd
The funeral for Myrtle Jewel Puckett Boyd, 86, of Meadows of Dan, who died Dec. 11, 2005, was held Dec. 13, 2005, at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor John Franklin officiating. Burial was in the Knowles-Eden Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Allen Hamm, Tim Hamm, Joel Hamm, Matt Harris, John Boyd, Ronnie Handy, Roger Quesenberry, Sam Hamm, Lee Walton and Adam Martin.

Johnny J. Koger
SABELLA, Fla. -- Johnny Junior Koger, 68, of Sabella and formerly of Martinsville, Va., died Dec. 9, 2005, in a Ft. Myers hospital.
He was born in Martinsville, Va., on May 4, 1937, to John Willie Koger and Willie Mae Moyer Koger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter Koger and James Koger; and two sisters, Bonnie Koger and Bessie K. Hairston.
Surviving are his wife, Belvie Divens Koger of Wilmington, Del.; two daughters, Belvie Koger and Denese Koger, both of Wilmington, Del.; and two sons, Johnny Koger and Peter Koger, both of Wilmington, Del.; six sisters, Sarah K. Smith, Annie K. Johnson and Maggie K. Hairston, all of Martinsville, Va., Phyllis K. Simmons of Baltimore, Md., Dollie K. Meadows of Rocky Mount, Va. and Beatrice K. Simmons of Winston-Salem, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The cremated ashes will be sent to Martinsville, Va. for burial at a time to be announced by Stanfield-Miller Funeral Home.

Elsie H. Turner
CHATHAM -- Elsie Huff Turner, 91, of 1341 Cavalry Road, Chatham, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005.
She was born in Pittsylvania County on Sept. 14, 1914, to William Daniel Huff and Sarah Elizabeth Hodges Huff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Turner,and a daughter, Olivia T. Adams.
She was a homemaker and a member of Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are six daughters, Peggie T. Smither of Rocky Mount, Lottie T. Adams of Salem, Deborah T. Lawless and Betty Turner, both of Collinsville, Elizabeth T. Gregory of Penhook and Carolyn T. Parsons of Chatham; five sons, John E. Turner and Douglas Turner, both of Martinsville, Carlton Turner and Sammy Turner, both of Penhook and Danny Turner of Dry Fork; two sisters, Viola H. Rigney of Chatham and Rebecca H. Stanley of Danville; a brother, Bill Huff of Chatham; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Russell East III and Bobby Adams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the church and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1196 Cavalry Road, Chatham, Va. 24531 or Callands Fire and Rescue Squad, 11741 Callands Road, Callands, Va. 24530.
Scott Funeral Home in Chatham is in charge of arrangements.

Odis H. Young Jr.
ROANOKE -- Odis H. Young Jr., 82, of Roanoke, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005.
He was born in McDowell County, W.Va. on April 14, 1923, to Odis Hampton Young Sr. and Sally Bet Powell Young.
He served in the 8th and 9th Army Air Corp in England during World War II. He was involved in the retail trade profession for more than 50 years. He worked with Chamberlains in Martinsville for 16 years and 29 years with Davidsons of Roanoke. He was involved in the Jaycees, the Kiwanis and the American Legion. He was a member of Cave Spring United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Setliff Young; two daughters, Katherine Johnson-Haupt and Susan Melson; a son, Bruce Young; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Oakey's South Chapel with the Revs. Bruce Tuttle and Art Wingfield officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Park.

Lee E. Cobbs
Lee Edward Cobbs, 47, of 105 Longview Drive, Danville, died Dec. 13, 2005, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C.
Hairston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
