GREENWELL
George W. Greenwell, 48, of Glen Allen, departed this life Wednesday, September 19, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Robin; brothers, Marvin and Maurice; in-laws, Dave and Lori Dolan, Shelley and Monte Hall, Michael Weaver, Shawn and Pam Dolan, Sean and Billie Jo Dolan; Grace Pinkert; nieces and nephews, Carrie Hall, Lee Hall, Amy and Ralph Lashbaugh, Jesse Dolan, Justin Dolan, and Michael Weaver. George was a rock and roll animal, one of the world's biggest Redskins fans, a Jimmy Buffet Parrothead, and was a member of the Corvette Club of Richmond. He is loved and will be missed. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 22, at 4 p.m. at the home of Dave and Lori Dolan, 4148 Old Springfield Rd., Glen Allen, Va. (346-5266). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Massey Cancer Center.

GRESHAM
Guerman M. Gresham Sr. of Mechanicsville entered eternal rest Wednesday, September 19, 2001. He is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret Ann Gresham; a son, Guerman "Skee" Gresham Jr.; and a daughter, Germaine G. Smyre; two grandsons, Roderick Parker and Robert Gresham; seven great-grandchildren; five brothers, Brandon, Kermit, Tyrone, Roderick and Frederick Gresham; mother-in-law, Edna T. Tinsley; two aunts, Harriette White and Vernell Gresham; one son-in-law, Kelvin Smyre; nine sisters-in-law, Yvonne, Mildred, Katherine, Gloria and Bettie Gresham, Kay T. Hunter, Joan Wright, Barbara Smith and Sandra Wingfield; two brothers-in-law, Rev. Andrew J. Jackson Sr. and John Wingfield; a host of nieces, nephews, several cousins, other relatives and many, many friends, one devoted, LaShawn Evans. Remains rest at the Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Saturday from Trinity Baptist Church, 2811 Fendall Avenue, Rev. A. Lincoln James, pastor. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens. Remains will rest in church one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund. GRIMES
Eugene Brock Grimes, 69, of 912 Allens Creek Rd., Gladstone, died Wednesday, September 19, 2001 in Lynchburg General Hospital. Born Februray 26, 1932 in Amherst County, he was a son of the late William Brock and Lora Taylor Grimes. Mr. Grimes was retired from Reynolds Metals, Inc. of Richmond and served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Toledo during the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful member of the International Brotherhood of Machinists and Aerospace Workers for 40 years and was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, Gladstone. Mr. Grimes is survived by two sons, William Brock Grimes II and his wife, Elena of Midlothian and Jeffory Charles Grimes of Ft. Myers, Fla.; one daughter, Ora Melinda Wright, also of Ft. Myers, Fla.; one brother, Harold Huff of Toano, Va.; two sisters, Anne Boatwright and Mary Grimes, both of Gladstone, Va.; and five grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2001, at Whitten Monelison Chapel by the Rev. James H. Frye III. Interment will follow in the Allens Creek Cemetery, Gladstone. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

HARGROVE
Edith C. Hargrove, of Richmond, was the last of three children born to the late William H. and Sadie L. Chiles. She was preceded in death her husband, Heywood Hargrove; and brother, Julian B. Chiles. She entered into eternal rest September 17, 2001, at a local hospital. She leaves to cherish her precious memory, Teresa Johnson, her daughter; and Tyrone Cozart, her son; sister, Thelma C. Thornton; two grandchildren; niece, Bernetta S. Conway; nephew, Edwin B. Shaw; a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens on Saturday 2 p.m. Family and friends kindly assemble at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Please omit refreshments. Mrs. Carolyn K. Hubbard of 3133 5th Avenue departed this life Thursday, September 20, 2001. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral notice later.

Departed this life September 16, 2001, Mrs. Leraldine P. Jackson, of 605 N. 37th St. She leaves to cherish loving memories a son, Rease F. (Virginia) Holland of Cleveland, Ohio; a daughter, Alice O. Holland of Richmond; one sister, Mary R. Allen of Richmond; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 North 25th St. Remains will lie in state Saturday, 12 noon, at 31st Street Baptist Church, 823 N. 31st St., where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Dr. Darrell Rollins officiating. Burial Oakwood Cemetery.

JAMES
Mrs. Pearl James of Dawn, Caroline County, entered eternal rest September 17, 2001. She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy James; two sons, Ramond and Linwood James; five stepdaughters, other relatives. Remains rest at the F.E. Dabney Funeral Home, Henry St., Ashland. Funeral 12 noon Saturday, September 22, at Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Rev. Marvin Fields, pastor, officiating. Interment church cemetery. Remains will rest in church one hour prior to service. The Dabney's Morticians in charge of arrangements.

JUDGE
Miss Audrey Judge, daughter of Dr. Gladys H. Judge and the late Rev. Dr. E. William Judge, died of a diabetic coma at her home in Cedar Hill Texas on September 18, 2001. The staff of the W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home is serving her family.

KEENAN
Joseph Hayes Keenan, 68, of Richmond, died on September 20, 2001 after an extended illness. A native of Bethlehem, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph Francis Keenan and Mary Clemens Hayes Keenan. He attended Dartmouth College on a football scholarship. He completed his Bachelor's degree in 1954, and then received a M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration of Dartmouth College. After serving two years in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Keenan qualified as a certified public accountant and worked successively for Price Waterhouse, General Foods, Continental Can Company, and Caltex Petroleum in New York. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In the 1960s, he developed a strong interest in the business applications of computers, and in large part because of his knowledge of automated financial systems, he was hired by Philip Morris U.S.A. of Richmond in 1974, where he eventually rose to the position of Manager of Management Control Systems. After his retirement from Philip Morris in 1988, he joined the Virginia Historical Society first as a volunteer and a year later as a full-time staff member. In 1992, he was named Treasurer by the Historical Society's board of trustees. Mr. Keenan is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol Sutherland Keenan of Richmond. He was a member of the Battle Abbey Council of the Virginia Historical Society, John Garland Pollard Associates of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and a supporter of Theatre Virginia and Virginia Opera. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Bridget's Catholic Church. Memorial gifts for Mr. Keenan can be made to the Virginia Historical Society, P.O. Box 7311, Richmond Va., 23221.

KEMP
Steven M. "Steve" Kemp, 36, of Richmond, died Tuesday, September 18, 2001. He was the son of the late Robert L. and Delores D. Kemp and is survived by his wife, Cynthia Cox "Cindy" Kemp; five children, Shannon, Ginny, Cheryl, Jonathan and Sarah; stepmother, Mary M. Kemp; two brothers, David E. and Robert L. Kemp Jr.; sister, Joann Raiford; mother-in-law, Virginia S. Cox; brother-in-law, Richard L. "Dickie" Cox; and sister-in-law, Susan R. Cox; and several nieces and nephews. His remains rest at Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park.

LEWIS
Departed this life September 17, 2001, Moses T. Lewis Jr., of 1804 Appomattox Street. He was a retired postal worker and World War II veteran. He is survived by loving and devoted wife, Aretta H. Lewis; two nieces, Mollette Y. Lewis and Jacquelin A. Parker; five nephews, Junius L. Lewis Jr., James Sr., Otis Sr., and Solomon F. Harris Jr. and Wilbert Jones Jr.; great-nieces and nephews, several cousins; one sister-in-law, Bertha A. Lewis; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral services Saturday, 12 noon, at Second Baptist Church, corner of Randolph and Idlewood Ave., where remains will lie in state one hour prior funeral time. Departed this life September 18, 2001, Wesley Linwood Lewis Jr., of 3001 Noble Ave. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; one brother, James E. Lewis; one niece, daughter-in-law and sons-in-law, and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral Saturday, 1 p.m. at Grayland Baptist Church, 2301 Third Ave., where remains will lie in state one hour prior funeral time. MARCINKEVICIUS
Mary Clara Marcinkevicius, 87, of Chesterfield, formerly of Richmond Hill, N.Y., went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 19, 2001. She was the widow of Jonas Marcinkevicius and is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Eleanor Marcin of New Jersey, Aldo and Georgia Marcinkevicius of Chesterfield; brother and sister-in-law, Alex and Valentina Nevins of Florida; grandchildren, Daniel, Amy, Michael, David and Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Jonathan and Tyler. Her family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Park.

McCARTHY
Dorothy McCarthy, of Queens, N.Y., died in New York City on September 13, 2001. She was the widow of James J. McCarthy Sr. and is survived by a son, James J. McCarthy Jr. and his wife, Ann Marie of Schenectady, N.Y.; and a daughter, Barbara Ann Grillo and her husband, Nicholas Grillo Jr. of Chesterfield, Va.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral and interment in Queens, N.Y. on September 18, 2001.

MILAM
Julia Mildred Milam, age 83, of Charlotte Court House, died Wednesday, September 19, 2001. Surviving are one son, James Thomas Milam of Lynchburg; three daughters, Patsy Conner and Elizabeth Milam, both of Charlotte Court House, and Frieda Milam of Powhatan; two brothers, Herbert Allen and Richard Allen; three sisters, Jo Ann Harley, Glenna Culbertson, and Nancy Peck; one grandson, Jeffrey Conner. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Hermon Presbyterian Church, Randolph, Va. The family will receive friends at the Browning Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.

MOORE
Dennis Canon Moore Sr., 43, of Montpelier, died in his home September 20, 2001 after a long and courageous battle with lymphoma. This wonderful man leaves behind a loving family and many friends to mourn him and to emulate his many works of loving kindness. He was the founder and owner of D&F Transport, a mobile home set up company working for various mobile home dealers in Ashland. He was the son of Peter Earl Moore and the late Ida V. Moore. He is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Anne Moore; two sons, Dennis Canon Jr. and his wife, Janet, Eugene Clarence and his fiancee, Sunshine; a daughter, Cynthia Anne Moore; two grandchildren, Dennis Canon III and Justin Moore; three sisters, Doris Strahorn, Georgiana Smith, and Jessie Babb; his dear friend and sister-in-law, Helen Bussard; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mr. Moore was a member of the Ashland Moose Lodge and the Virginia Manufactured Housing Association. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Reid Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at their home, 15255 Dunn Road, Montpelier, following the interment. He will always remain in the hearts of his family and friends as a loving and kind person who cherished his family and would help out anyone in need.
