Raymond D. Bolden Jr. (Rabow) of 1923 Lakeview Ave. entered eternal rest September 25, 2000. Cherishing his memory are four sons, Tico, Raymond III, Raymond IV and Spunky; one daughter, Shawauna; two grandchildren, seven brothers, three sisters; a devoted sister-in-law, Renia Bolden; a host of other in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. BOND
Eleanor S. Bond of Richmond passed away September 30, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Wallace D. Bond Sr.; a daughter, Susan B. Richards of Idaho; two sons, Wallace D. Bond Jr. and wife, Gale, and Michael B. Bond, all of Richmond; two sisters, Ruth S. Goins and Joyce S. Collins, both of Richmond; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., where services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Washington Memorial Park.

BRADLEY
Edna S. Bradley of Richmond, widow of Edwin B. Bradley, died Friday, September 29, 2000. A family graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 4. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels or the American Red Cross.

CARR
Dorothy Horton Carr, 81, of Maiden, died October 1, 2000 in Catawba Memorial Hospital. Born July 21, 1919 in Chesterfield Co., S.C., she was a member of St. Martins Lutheran Church. She was the wife of Stuart V. Carr and the daughter of William L. and Ellen Clark Horton. Survivors include her sons, William (Bill) Carr of Greensboro, N.C., Dennis Carr of Roanoke, Va. and Tommy Carr of Richmond, Va.; daughter, Mabel Jones of Monroe, N.C.; sisters, Clarene Coulter, Mary Horton, both of Newton, N.C. and Nell Tucker of Charleston, S.C.; brother, James Horton of Lancaster, S.C.; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Martins Lutheran Church, 11 a.m. October 3, 2000. Rev. John Lingle officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. October 4, 2000 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Richmond, Va. Memorials may be made to St. Martins Lutheran Church, 214 W. Main St., Maiden, N.C. 28650.

CRAWLEY
Rosa Lee Crawley of Charles City departed this life October 1, 2000. She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Crawley; six sons, Earl, Vernon, Lilton, Robert, Darryl and Garryl Crawley; eight grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Corleatha and Francine Crawley; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at J. Leroy Charity Funeral Home, Charles City. At 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Ms. Crawley will rest at Gilfield Baptist Church, where services will be held 1:30 p.m. Rev. James H. Johnson officiating. Interment church cemetery.

DALZELL
Janice (Jan) M. Dalzell, 67, died at her home in Williamsburg on Sunday, October 1, 2000. A native of Casselton, N.D., she married Lt. Col. (Ret.) Leonard Dalzell in 1952. Jan retired in 1998 after a successful 23-year career in real estate. An accomplished golfer, Jan held the title of Ladies' Golf Champion at Kingsmill numerous times and was club champion at Langley AFB. She also qualified and played in several Virginia State Golf Championships. In addition to her husband, Jan is survived by her son, Scott Dalzell and his wife, Marcia Wilds of Vienna, Va.; her daughters, Susan Caldwell and Jules Dalzell of Richmond; her son, Dana Dalzell; and daughter, Jodie Dalzell, both of Yorktown; and three grandchildren, Tim, Marc and Hayley. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Williamsburg on Thursday, October 5, 2000, at 11 a.m. At Jan's request, a celebration of her life will be held at Wareham's Pond Rec. Center in Kingsmill following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.

DIX
Dorothy Mae Portee Dix, formerly of Richmond, Va. and of Baltimore, Md., departed this life on September 30, 2000 in Durham, N.C. She is survived by her most beloved daughter, Joyce Senada Owens of Durham, N.C.; five sisters of Richmond and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 3, 2000, 2 p.m., Mt. Zion Church, 318 Carr St. Rd., Cedar Grove, N.C.

EVERETTE
Harry Lee Everette, 74, of Colonial Heights, died Sunday. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2000 in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Colonial Heights. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends tonight 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights.

FLORIO
Anita A. Florio passed away after a long illness at her home in Midlothian, Va. She is survived by her four children and their families, Jack and Joanne Florio (Anita, Suzanne and Jaclyn), Tom and Juanita Florio (Thomas and Robert), Jean and Tom Depcrynski (Amy, Andrew and Alec) and Joanne and John Allison (Jay, Sean, Paige and Gwynne). The family will meet friends at the Bliley Funeral Home’s Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 4. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, 11 a.m. October 5. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 7757 Chippenham Pkwy., Richmond, Va. 23225.

GOODE
Clarice Newcomb Goode, 92, of Richmond passed away October 1, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, I.C. Newcomb Sr., retired Richmond police detective and former Sheriff of Charles City County; her husband of 11 years, Allen Silas Goode and her son, I.C. Newcomb Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Paciocco; son, C. Lynn Newcomb; beloved daughter-in-law, Donna T. Newcomb; grandchildren, Jo Ellen Baker, Roy and Scott Newcomb, Michelle Couch, Laina Newcomb, Mary Ann Stamey, Sue Ellen Bailey; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Goode was a devoted Sunday school teacher at Woodland Heights Baptist Church for many years. The family will receive friends at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10) from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jahnke Road Baptist Church. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Charles City Co., Va. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va. 23058-5216.

GREEN
Bradley Eldred Green, 93, of Shumansville, died Monday, October 2, 2000. Survivors include a niece, Verna Barlow of Ruther Glen; a nephew, Floyd Pitts of San Diego, Calif.; several great-nieces and nephews, among them, Jackie Barham of Bowling Green and Hope Gatewood of Ruther Glen. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with burial in Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery, Shumansville. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

HARRIS
Mrs. Cathy D. Harris went to be with God September 30, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Harris Jr.; sons, Christopher and James Harris; stepchildren, Thomas, Beatrice and Mona; a number of foster children; parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Dabney; one brother, Howard Williams; four sisters, Wilma Crump, Betty Mitchell (Eugene), Nancy Harris (Jerry), Joyce Dabney; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Her remains rest at W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home. After 10 a.m. Wednesday, her remains will rest in Mt. Herman Baptist Church, 2814 Moss Side Ave., where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens.

HOWARD
Departed this life September 29, 2000, Oscar Franklin Howard, age 81, of 1734 Hungary Rd., the former owner of O.F. Howard Funeral Home. He is survived by his loving wife, Lottie J. Howard; a stepsister, Norfolk Holly; and a host of cousins; four sisters-in-law, Shirley Jones, Amanda Jones, Beatrice J. Jones and Earline N. Bland; one niece, Chenita Bland; one nephew, Christopher McNeal; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral Wednesday, 1 p.m. at Hood Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, 16 W. Clay Street, where remains will lie in state one hour prior funeral time. Dr. Kevin McGill (pastor). Rev. Sarah Gholson officiating. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family, friends and organizations assemble at the church 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.

KIRBY
Edna Deans Kirby of Richmond died Monday, October 2, 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. She is survived by her husband, Robert H. Kirby and their son, Bradford J. Kirby. Surviving also are a brother, William F. Deans of Hudson, N.C.; and a sister, Doris D. Rogers of Portsmouth. There are 17 surviving nieces and nephews. She was born in Gatesville, N.C., grew up and attended the public schools in Portsmouth, and graduated from Averett College. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and participated in various community activities. During her life, she served as a medical records librarian and a phobia therapist. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at First Baptist Church at Monument Ave. and the Boulevard. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Virginia Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services, P.O. Box 849, Salem, Va. 24153 or to Averett College, 420 W. Main St., Danville, Va. 24541.

LaPRADE
Audrey King LaPrade of Richmond, wife of the late Melvin W. LaPrade Sr., died Sunday, October 1, 2000. She is survived by her son, Melvin W. LaPrade Jr.; grandson, Christopher M. Fohl; aunt, Dorothy Gifford; and special friend, Robert Shiflett. Mrs. LaPrade was an area soloist for over 50 years and was a member of the choir at River Road United Methodist Church for 25 years. She was also a member of Hermitage Country Club, Tuckahoe Woman’s Club, Tuckahoe Republican Woman’s Committee, City Women’s Golf Association, Whitechapel Handbell Choir, and former member of Deep Run Hunt Club. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday at River Road United Methodist Church, with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association or the church organ fund.

LUKHARD
Marjorie Haddon Lukhard, age 88, of Richmond, died October 1, 2000. She is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Robert Cathcart of Mechanicsville; her son, John Lukhard of Richmond; her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan H. Marable; and a brother, Chester H. Haddon, both of Middlesex County; a brother, Woodrow A. Haddon of Richmond; beloved friends, Lorene and Wesley Cathcart; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loved ones. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, October 14 at Holly Ridge Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Association of the Deaf Blind, c/o Jane Chandler, Box 11, 3837 Wishong Ct., Richmond, Va. 23223 or the Holly Ridge Christian Church Building Fund, 8469 Atlee Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23116. Marjorie’s soul will rest eternally with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; and she will be an angel looking down on each of us and remembering the good times, especially the times at "Shoansie", the place she dearly loved to be. You are so "Sweet and Wonderful".
