Nancy Webb Tobin, age 56, of Kilmarnock, Va., died Sunday, August 12, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Danny K. Tobin; three daughters, Shawn B. Rogers of Fredericksburg, Va., Karen M. Counts of Richmond, Va., and Cindy T. Counts of Dayton, Va.; two sons, David McDuff Beagle of Richmond, Va., and David Wayne Tobin of Harrisonburg, Va.; seven grandchildren; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton P. Webb of Kilmarnock, Va.; her sister, Carolyn M. Webb, and a nephew, Matt Crabbe, both of Richmond, Va. Remains rest at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, Va., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in Kilmarnock Baptist Church. Interment Woodlawn Cemetary, Kilmarnock, Va. WARD
Robert "Bob" B. Ward, 77, of Chesterfield County, departed this life on Saturday, August 11, 2001. Survived by his wife, Dora Whitley Ward and two daughters, Elizabeth Masters and her husband, Richard L. Masters and Sandra Krajacich and her husband, Nick G. Krajacich; three grandchildren, Malynda Gale, Nick W. Krajacich, Capt. C.A. Krajacich, USMC and his wife, Deborah; four great-grandchildren, Samuel, Emily, Holly, and Xhevdet; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and the Bay of Pigs. He was a member of the VFW and the Loyal Order of Moose. Services will be held at the Chippenham Chapel, Bliley's Funeral Home, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2001. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

WATKINS
Mrs. Daisy Brown Watkins of 11 E. 35th St., formerly of Fulton, departed this life Sunday, August 12, 2001. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Streets. Funeral notice later.

WATKINS
L. Rees Watkins, 83, of Richmond, died Monday, August 13, 2001. She is survived by a sister, Addie I. Omotoy of San Diego, Calif.; a niece, Doris Thompson of Louisville, Ky.; and a nephew, Bob Watkins of Atlanta, Ga. Miss Watkins was a missionary to Nigeria in the 1940s and was employed by Woman's Missionary Union of Virginia as a youth director for 35 years. After retirement from that post, she was employed by the Virginia Baptist Historical Society for 15 years. Remains rest at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Road, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Second Baptist Church. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Virginia Baptist Historical Society at the University of Richmond.

WRIGHT
Joseph C. Wright of Richmond entered eternal rest August 8, 2001. Cherishing his memory are his wife, Nancy Wright; two sons, Joseph I. (Flora) and James L. Wright; three daughters, Yolanda Wright, Cassandra Gardner (Michael) of Portsmouth, and Linda Jones (Steven); nine grandchildren, one great-grandson; one brother, Edward Wright of Philadelphia; two sisters, Carleen Talley of Philadelphia and Nannie Hendrick; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Eulogistic service will be conducted Wednesday 1 p.m. at the All Faiths Chapel of the A.D. Price Funeral Establishment, 212 E. Leigh St. Elder Joseph Pierce officiating. BAGWELL
Mrs. Lillian Wilborn Bagwell of 765 Mountain Road, Halifax, Va., died July 25, 2002 at Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in South Boston, Va. on February 16, 1909 and was 93 years old. She was the daughter of Mr. James Bailey Wilborn Sr. and Mrs. Zulene Shanks Wilborn and was married to Robert Poindexter Bagwell. She was a member of Beth Car Baptist Church. Mrs. Lillian Wilborn Bagwell is survived by three daughters, Lillian Bagwell Evans of Halifax, Ann Gordon Bagwell Hunt of Halifax and Robin Bagwell Young of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina; one sister, Frances Wilborn Bennett of South Boston; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Bailey Wilborn and Shanks Mitchell Wilborn Sr. Graveside services for Mrs. Lillian Wilborn Bagwell will be held Saturday, July 27, 2002 at Halifax Cemetery at 11 a.m., with Don Bagwell conducting the service. The family will receive friends, Friday evening at her home, 765 Mountain Road, Halifax. For memorials, please consider the Beth Car Baptist Church Building Fund. BAILEY
Roberta L. Bailey, 77, of Petersburg, died July 25, 2002 in Southside Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Bailey was born in Petersburg, a daughter of the late Rosser B. and Maggie Lee Sledd Hawks. She was a member of Washington St. United Methodist Church and retired from the J.C. Penny Co., having been a salesperson with them for several years. Preceded in death by her husband, Nelson William Bailey, she is survived by a daughter, Hattie L. Brinsfield of Woodbridge, Va., two grandchildren, Kristin Marie Custode and her husband, Rommel of South Riding, Va., Megan Leslie Brinsfield of Woodbridge; a great-grandson, Dmitri Francesco Custode; and a sister, Dorothy H. Carter of Petersburg. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 29 in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with her pastor Rev. Betsy Basehore officiating. The interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in her memory to either the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va 23058-5216, or the American Cancer Society c/o Wesy Chappell 1117 Fort Hayes Dr., Petersburg 23805.

Luther Garfield Branch, 78, of Richmond, departed this life July 26, 2002. The staff of the W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home is serving his family.

BRITTON
Charles C. "Junie" Britton Jr., 86, a retired City of Richmond employee, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Alice K. Britton; his children, Barbara Britton Nunnally and her husband, Robert L. Nunnally of Highland Springs and Patty Britton and her friend, David Powers of Goochland; his sister-in-law, Helen Jeanne Keeling. Mr. Britton was born and raised in Church Hill. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where his mother and father and other family members attended. He was with the U.S. Army 604th Engineer Battalion during WWII, serving in Northern France, Rhineland and England, where he received two Bronze Stars. He worked at Parker Field for over 30 years and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He was a member of Northside Lodge No. 292 A.F.&A.M. and was also a member of the Musician's Union and a drummer in several local dance bands. Remains rest at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 East Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. Funeral services 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 24th and Broad St. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.

BROOKS
Berkley Cleveland Brooks, 84, died Friday, July 26, 2002 in Riverside Tappahannock Hospital. Mr. Brooks was a member and past deacon of Beale Memorial Baptist Church, an Army veteran of World War II and a retired self-employed painter contractor. He was predeceased by his son, R. Wayne Brooks. Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Nannie B. Brooks; a sister, Thelma B. Staten of Maryland; two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, eight nieces, two nephews; and a loving daughter-in-law, Betty Ann Brooks of Savannah, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 28, 2002 at 2 p.m. in Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock, conducted by Dr. Robert McKinley. Interment will follow in Essex Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening in the funeral home.

Deacon Herbert D. Carolina Sr. of Richmond departed this life Friday, July 26, 2002. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Streets. Funeral notice later.

CHEELEY
Gay Melton Cheeley, 83, of Kenbridge, Va., widow of Wesley Loyd Cheeley, died July 26, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Pat O. Hawthorne of Va. Beach; three sons, W.L. Cheeley Jr. of Kenbridge, Dennis Cheeley of Richmond and Donald Cheeley of Mosley; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pansy Michaux of New Kent and Betty Spencer of Highland Springs; one brother, Billy Melton of Richmond; her aunt, Naomi Montgomery. Mrs. Cheeley was a homemaker, a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and a volunteer for many years at Community Memorial Healthcenter in South Hill. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Clarke Funeral Home, Kenbridge. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 28 at 3 p.m. in the Kenbridge United Methodist Church with burial in the Kenbridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the Kenbridge Methodist Church.

CRYMES
John Marion Crymes, 82, died Thursday, July 25, 2002. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi and attended Mississippi State, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. During WWII he served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He met and married Ann Gaulding Crymes and they made Richmond, Va. their home. John was a mechanical sales engineer and established John Crymes Associates, which handled heating, air conditioning and ventilating equipment. He was a former member of St. John's United Church of Christ and River Road Church, Baptist and was active in the Rotary Club, the West End Businessmen's Association and the Downtown Businessmen's Association. John was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Gaulding Crymes. He is survived by his son, John M. (Jack) Crymes Jr. of Fairfax, Calif.; his daughter, Ann Crymes Galione and son-in-law, Robert Galione of Charlottesville; and two grandsons, Kris Galione and Rick Galione. The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 29 in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or the Hospice of the Piedmont in Johnny's memory.

DAVIS
Twyla Dale Davis, infant daughter of Sue and Anthony Davis of Glen Allen, passed away July 25, 2002. She is also survived by her brother, Dalton Davis. A private graveside service will be held Sunday, July 28. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Child Life Department, MCV, P.O. DOLLAHITE
Evelyn Rebecca Franklin Dollahite, 89, of Baltimore, Md., died Thursday, July 25, 2002 at St. Agnes Healthcare in Baltimore. A graveside service will be held Sunday, July 28, 3 p.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery with Rev. Robert L. Haley officiating. Mrs. Dollahite was born February 17, 1913 in Warren County, Virginia, daughter of the late Amos Boyd and Mary Eva Sutphin Franklin. She was a graduate of Warren Co. High School, Philadelphia General School of Nursing, and Catholic University of America where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in 1949. She was a Registered Nurse. She held various positions with Veterans Administration Nursing Services in Washington, D.C., Memphis, Tenn., and Birmingham, Ala. She retired June 28, 1973. Prior to retirement she was a member of various nursing associations. She was a Health Care Benefits Counselor with the Charleston Retirement Community. She enjoyed traveling very much having visited South East Asia, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, France, and Hawaii. Her hobbies included golfing, reading, crossword puzzles, and bridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Vernon Dollahite; a sister, Elizabeth Franklin Haley; and a brother, William Jackson "Jack" Franklin. She is survived by her nephew, Rev. Robert L. Haley of Pleasant Valley, Va. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Haley, Kelsey Haley, and Mackenzie Haley. Friends may call at anytime at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main St., Front Royal, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 370, Pleasant Valley, Va. 22848.

DUNCAN
Mary Akers Duncan, 78, of Richmond, widow of Cecil A. Duncan, died Thursday, July 25, 2002. She is survived by two sons, Jeff B. Duncan and his wife, Betty S. Duncan of Rockville and John A. Duncan and his wife, Patricia A. Duncan of Floyd; one daughter, Nancy D. Ciandella and her husband, Thomas L. Ciandella Jr. of Mantua, N.J.; and four grandchildren, Anne and Amy Duncan and Andy and Lauren Ciandella. Mrs. Duncan was the last surviving child of the late Tazewell B. and Lucy H. Akers. She was a member of Westhampton United Methodist Church. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 29 in Evergreen Burial Park, Roanoke. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

EDWARDS
Mildred "Dot" Hutcherson Edwards, 77, of Gretna, Va. died Friday, July 26, 2002. She is survived by her stepmother Willie Roach Hutcherson of Gretna; two sons, Roger Edwards and Jimmy Edwards, both of Gretna; two daughters, Brenda Walton of Richmond, Connie Edwards of Charlottesville; two sisters, Lucy Jennings of Gladys, Jean Shelton of Gretna; grandchildren, Courtney Walton, Lindsey Walton and Richard Walton III. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2002 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna is in charge of arrangements.
