Waring Butler Lewis, 85, of Dunnsville, died Wednesday, December 12, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth C. Lewis; his four children, Ellen Huppert of Berkeley Heights, N.J., Susan Lewis Minarchi of Fredericksburg, Waring N. Lewis of Glen Allen and Henry Calvin Lewis of Dunnsville; four grandchildren, Kelley, Brandon, Maggie and Samuel Lewis. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock. Interment Rappahannock Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Tappahannock Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 583, Tappahannock, Va. 22560.

MARKER
Lotus Davis Marker, age 75, of Crewe, widow of Henry E. Marker, died Tuesday, December 11, 2001. She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis M. Owens of Richmond, Ginger M. Ward of Keysville; grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Jessica, Greg and Lexi; her sister, May Yeatts of Crewe. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Crewe United Methodist Church. Interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Jennings-McMillian Funeral Home Friday, 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Crewe United Methodist Church.

MOORE
Mildred I. Moore, 95, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2001. She was the widow of Thomas Moore. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia M. and Monroe Richardson; grandchildren, Robert K. Jenkins Jr., Thomas D. Jenkins and his wife, Judith, Robin Anonick and her husband, Patrick; great-grandchildren, Nathan M. and Rachel E. Anonick and Austin G. Jenkins. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2001 in the Liberty UMC Cemetery, Charlotte, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Manchester Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 198, Chesterfield, Va. 23832.

MYERS
Joseph Edward Myers, retired postal employee, departed this life December 10, 2001. Preceded in death by his wife, Claudette W. Myers, he is survived by his niece, Sylvia Brown Turner; nephew, Anthony Myers Jr.; great-nephews, Wade and Durrell Brown; sisters-in-law, Ruth Myers, Consuelo W. Brown, Anna M. Washington and Robinette W. (Andrew) Miller; brother-in-law, Robert H. (Bernice) Washington Jr.; other relatives and friends. His remains rest at the W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2001, Rev. Bernard Giles officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. MYERS
Mandy Michelle Myers, 16, of Mechanicsville, died Tuesday, December 11, 2001. She is survived by her parents, Walter and Bonnie Myers; her brother, Billy Myers and his wife, Doreen; her sister, Kim Stargell and her husband, Jimmy; her paternal grandmother, Annie Myers, the widow of George Myers Sr.; her maternal grandmother, Catherine Bromley, the widow of Raymond Bromley. She is also survived by one nephew, Paul Myers; four nieces, Cigi and Lindsey Myers and Lexi and McKenzie Stargell; and a devoted friend, Anthony Abele. Mandy was predeceased by two special aunts, Mattie Edwards and Tibby Sullivan. She is also survived by six uncles, Charles Edwards, George Myers and his wife, Mildred, Jimmie Myers and his wife, Betty, Campbell Brann Jr., Edward Brann and his wife, Sandra, Ed Smith and his wife, Cindy; three aunts, Dottie Mowles and her husband, Preston, Carolyn Rainer and her husband, David, and Ann Smith; lots of cousins and countless friends; and her dog, Blossom. Mandy was a junior at Lee-Davis High School and in the nursing program at Richmond Technical Center. She was an avid dance student of Judy Matassa's "The Dance Studio" and participated in numerous dance recitals. She also attended Atlee Community Church. Her remains rest at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and where services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2001. Rev. Chris Hembrough and Rev. Rick Bates officiating. Interment Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mandy M. Myers Scholarship Fund, Lee Davis High School, for a student pursuing a career in nursing. Mandy touched so many lives with her smiling, caring and loving ways towards everyone's path she crossed. She had designated herself as an organ donor, and so her death will provide the gift of life to others. She truly was an angel on earth.

PATRICK
Helen Simopoulos Patrick, born October 25, 1925, departed this life Wednesday, December 12, 2001. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Ted. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Dean and Bonnie Patrick, John and Toni Ann Patrick and Pam and Bill Benos; nine grandchildren; one sister, Penelope Roupas; two nieces, Irene Bacas Thornburg and Patricia Roupas Sotos; four nephews, Jim Bacas, Frank Roupas, Peter and Elias Simopoulos; other relatives and devoted and loving friends. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday, December 15. Interment following at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 14101 Patterson Avenue. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the National Leukemia Foundation, 172 Madison Ave., Room 502, New York, N.Y., 10016.

PENCE
Anne Heptinstall Williams Pence, 89, widow of Col. Harvey J. Pence passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 12, 2001 in Richmond, Va. A native of Franklin, Va., she was a daughter of the late James C. and Nena Newsom Williams. She lived a full and wonderful life. While traveling around the world with the military, she was a Red Cross volunteer in Tokyo, Japan; founded and edited a newsletter for military personnel in Oslo, Norway; and held an array of leadership roles in military wives organizations. She was a devout Methodist and was actively involved in all aspects of the church. A true lover of life, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed, but we celebrate her life. Survivors include her loving daughter, Nena Pence Teller and her husband, Forrest M. Teller of Richmond; granddaughter, Katherine Anne Holcombe of Richmond; and numerous relatives and close friends in Franklin, Va., Murfreesboro, N.C., Richmond, Va., and elsewhere. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2001, in Wright Funeral Home Chapel, Franklin, Va. with Rev. Edward C. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the High Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 218, Franklin, Va. 23851.

PINCHBECK
Edward C. Pinchbeck, 82, of Lakeside, passed away December 11, 2001 in McGuire's Veterans Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Louise W. Pinchbeck; niece, Dorothy Mallory of Lakeside; nephew, Bubba Pinchbeck of Lawrenceville, Va. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday. Interment Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, Va.

PULLEY
David T. "Cha-Cha" Pulley Sr., 85, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 11, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Pulley and his son, David T. Pulley Jr.; and is survived by a daughter, Diane Pulley O'Connell; grandchildren, Debbie Moseley, David Wayne Pulley, Ronald Thomas Pulley, Jay O'Connell III, Aprill McDonald and Lisa Lynn Pulley; great-grandchildren, Keith, Christopher, John, Rachel, Ceara, Dilynn, Dakoyta and Nydia; brother, Warren Pulley; and sisters, Gracie and Lula. Mr. Pulley retired from Reynolds Metals after 32 years of service and was a veteran of WWII. He was in the Battle of Normandy (D-Day), a member of the 14th Armored Division and a U.S. Army tech sergeant. He was a reconnaissance crewman who received many decorations and awards, including the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European/African/Middle Eastern Service Medal. He was also awarded five Bronze Stars. Mr. Pulley was from a family of 14 and was a devoted hunter and sportsman. He was a member of Buford Rd. Baptist Church since 1972. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday. Interment follows in Maury Cemetery.

REDD
Departed this life December 10, 2001, Willie L. "Dew-Hickie" Redd of Richmond. He is survived by two children, Karon Grant and Talisha King; four sisters, Cynthia Smith, Monica Jones, Patricia Bassett and Darlene Mangum; two brothers, Charles and "Lil" Willie; four aunts, among them one devoted, Madeline Redd; great-aunt, Hattie Brooks; two uncles, Preston and Albert Mangum; a devoted friend, Keisha Johnson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave., where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m., Rev. Carolyn Winston officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Richards of 3007 Garland Ave. She is survived by one daughter, Sheena Roberts; two sons, Toney Bouldin and Keith Richards; two grandsons, LaVar and Toney Bouldin Jr.; mother, Perlena B. Roberts; twin sister, Phyllis Page; and sister, Forrest Watson; two brothers-in-law and other relatives and friends. Departed this life December 10, 2001, John W. "Billy" Rollins Sr., of Doswell, Va. He is survived by six children, Voslyn (Anthony) Rollins-Thrower, John W. (Alice) Rollins Jr., Ernestine "Tina" Rollins, Vada C. (Sydney) Rollins, Stephanie S. Rollins and Michael Anderson; five grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. SHEFFIELD
Mary Frame Sheffield, 92, of Midlothian, went to be with the Lord December 10, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton D. Sheffield Sr.; and is survived by a daughter, Patricia Wright and her husband, Ralph; two sons, Alton D. Jr. and his wife, Ann, Robert N. and his wife, Betty; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Frame; and sister, Dolly Potts. Mrs. Sheffield was a retired teacher with 48 years of service in Chesterfield County, and still taught the Fidelis Sunday School class at Bethel Baptist Church. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, W.M.U. Mr. Meredith A. Shelton, age 86, of Blackstone, Va., died Monday, December 10, 2001 in a Richmond hospital. He is survived by one son, Meredith A. (Burnetta) Shelton Jr. of New York; a daughter, Evelyn S. (Rodney) Crawley of Montross; a sister, Maggie L. (Dr. James C.) Nelson of Petersburg; nine grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, 504 East Street, Blackstone. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2001 from Spring Hill Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment church cemetery.

SPICER
Linwood F. Spicer, age 58, of Mechanicsville, Va., went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2001. Mr. Spicer was owner of Spicer Fence Company for 25 years. He leaves behind his wife, Jean M. Spicer; his daughter, Lori S. Martin and her husband, Jerry; his son, Floyd Keith Spicer; two granddaughters, Taylor Elayne and Hannah Elisabeth Martin; three sisters, Beverly S. Parsley, Barbara S. Ogles and Sharon S. Robbins; and three brothers, Thomas L., Walter Gravitt and Wayne Spicer. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2001 at Gethsemane Church of Christ with interment to follow in the church cemetery. James A. "Jim" Thompson, 81, of Mt. Holly, Va., retired manager of the Vett's Inn restaurant in Mt. Holly, departed December 11, 2001 at the Washington and Lee Adult Care Center. Viewing will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 14 at the Weldon-Fisher Funeral Home, 22883 Kings Highway, Nomini Grove, Va. Funeral services for Mr. Thompson will be held Saturday, December 15 at 1 p.m. from the Salem Baptist Church, Mt. Holly, Va. Family members will assemble at the home of Mr. Fred Dixon Jr., 50 Hard Corner Rd., Montross, Va. at 12:15 p.m. Saturday. Arrangements by Weldon-Fisher Funeral Home.

WALKER
Sandra White "Sandy" Walker, 47, of Sutherland, died Wednesday, December 12, 2001 at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg. A native of Dinwiddie, she was the daughter of the late Emmett Fillmore and Margaret Ann Mayer White. Mrs. Walker was member of the First Assembly of God Church in Petersburg. She is survived by her husband, Gary Walker; sons and daughter-in-law, Rev. Gregory S. and Susan Walker of Bedford, Rev. Dwayne G. Walker of Dinwiddie and Matthew H. Walker of Sutherland; a grandson, Daniel E. Walker of Bedford; her step-mother, Kathleen White of Dinwiddie; sisters, Kathy J. Pennington of Chester and Barbara A. White of Hopewell; three brothers, Gerald F. White of Hopewell, Donald W. White of Prince George and Phillip C. White of Chesterfield; her mother and father-in-law, Harry and Billie Walker of Matoaca; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 14, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 25213 Ferndale Road, Petersburg, with the Rev. Dwayne Walker officiating.
