STEVENS
Rev. Dr. Len Franklin Stevens, 92, of Oldhams, died July 6, 2001. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley S. and Edward L. Menefee, St. Leonard, Md.; grandson, Robert L. Menefee, Alexandria; sister, Ethel S. Cooksey, Farnham; brother, George Stevens, College Park, Md.; two nephews and two nieces. Funeral services 11 a.m. Monday at Kirkland Grove Tabernacle, Heathsville. Interment Gibeon Baptist Church Cemetery, Village with Masonic graveside rites. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Jones-Ash Funeral Home, Rainswood. Memorials may be made to Gibeon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 23, Village, Va. 22570.

STONER
Donald William Stoner, 92, of Lottsburg, died Friday, July 6, 2001. He was born February 1, 1909 in Gettysburg, Pa., one of 11 children. He held a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Gettysburg College and an M.S. degree in Physics from the University of Michigan. He was an instructor of Physics and Electrical Engineering at Washington and Lee University, 1931-35, at University of Virginia Engineering Extension School, Dahlgren, 1950-52. His Civil Service appointment began in 1935 at U.S. Naval Weapons Lab, Dahlgren, Va. He was head of the Engineering and Evaluation Department, former Director, Weapons Development and Evaluation and an engineering consultant. The recipient of six Navy Commendation Awards for Outstanding Performance of Service and two Navy Meritorious Civilian Awards, he received a grant of Supergrade Promotion in 1963. In 1969, he retired after 33 years of dedicated service to the Navy and his country. Included in Who's Who 1971-72 (South), he was also a member of American Physics Society, AAAS, American Association of Physics Teachers, American Ordnance Association, and American Management Association. He was a former member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, King George and currently a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Heathsville. The devoted husband of the late (Jane) Alice Virginia Darling, he is survived by his brother, James N. Stoner of Pittsburgh, Pa.; five children, Alice Darling (Leonard) Ross, Roslyn Heights, N.Y., David William (Connie) Stoner of Wicomico Church, Va., Robert Frederick Stoner of Callao, Va., John Thomas Stoner of Mila, Va. and Mildred (Mimi) Stoner of Lottsburg, Va.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10 at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Heathsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephens Music Fund.

SWANN
Departed this life July 4, 2001, Mrs. Pauline B. Swann of 1512 Wallace Street. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major F. Swann. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Barbara A. Hill; one son, Melvin B. Swann Sr.; 26 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew, and one cousin; one daughter-in-law, Amye C. Swann, one brother-in-law, Phillip Clark, and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral Monday 1 p.m. at Triumphant Baptist Church, 2003 Lamb Avenue, where remains will lie in state one hour prior funeral time. Dr. Arthur M. Jones Sr. (pastor) officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45 p.m. Monday.

Departed this life July 4, 2001, Henry A. Williams of 1517 Jacqueline St. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. Williams; two daughters, Twanya M. and Lakeisha N. Williams; one son, Emanuel Williams Sr.; four grandchildren, Treymon, Tiara, Emanuel Jr. and Kyannah Williams; two brothers, Andrew Williams and Alfred Edmonds; aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins; mother-in-law, Mildred Edmonds; one daughter-in-law, Sonya D. Williams; three sisters-in-law, Betty Williams, Trudy Coleman and Bridget Edmonds; six brothers-in-law, Albert Jr., Melvin, Charles, Ernest, Dennis and Eric Edmonds; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave., where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday. Dr. Yvonne J. Bibbs officiating. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 12:45 p.m. Monday.

ALLEN
Departed this life July 30, 2002, Mrs. Ethel L. Allen of Richmond. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Mary Wilson, Doris Booker, Leroy Brooks, Jane Murray, Barbara Brooks, Gabriel Brooks, Gerena Green, Evelyn Black and Howard Brooks; a host of great, great-great and great-great-great-nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law, Adrian Allen Jr.; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where the family will receive friends Thursday (tonight), 7 to 8 p.m. Remains will be forwarded Friday morning to Youngstown, Ohio for funeral services and interment on Saturday.

BARTLEY
Reed Clayton Bartley, 45, of Richmond, beloved son of Forrest and Janice Bartley, went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2002. Besides his parents, he is also survived by his sister, Deidre Addington; niece, Jodi Marie Addington; girlfriend, Lorna Ladigohon; uncle, Douglas Roach of South Williamson, Ky.; aunt, Carneda Roach; and cousin, Suzanne Robinette. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the McGuire VA Chapel. The Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Beverly D. Bowles of Richmond departed this life Wednesday, July 31, 2002. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral notice later.

Luther Goodman Branch, 79, of Richmond, departed this life Friday, July 26, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Louise Branch. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted nephew, James Branch and his wife, Virginia C. Branch; five stepdaughters, Mable Evans Ford (Freddie), Madge Waddell (Lamar), Clyde Robinson, Joyce Rosselo (Ronnie), Zena Norwood; four stepsons, John Evans (Sheila), Nathaniel Evans (Lavenia), Robert Carroll (Thomasina), Ronnie Carroll (Donna); many nieces, nephews, cousins, stepgrandchildren, other relatives and friends. His remains rest at the W.S. CONYERS
Elwood Mack Conyers, 82, of Midlothian, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Helen Conyers; son, Dr. Richard M. Conyers and his wife, Lisa Laurey Conyers; grandchildren, Mary E. and Jonathan M. Conyers. Mr. conyers was a member of Plumber's Local No. 10 and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the USS Warren (Pacific Theater). The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday in Washington Memorial Park. DANIEL
Josephine Pullen Daniel died Tuesday, July 30, 2002 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Rawley Fleet Daniel. Mrs. Daniel was born in Richmond on March 13, 1920. She was a graduate of Collegiate School on Monument Ave. and a former president of the Collegiate Alumnae Association. She was a member of the founding board of the Richmond Children's Theatre, a former member of The Woman's Club and a member of the Country Club of Virginia. She retired in 1985 as the Director of Activities at First Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member for over 40 years. Mrs. Daniel is survived by her children, Martha Jane Hudnall and husband, Bert of Charleston, S.C., John W. Daniel II and his wife, Pat of Richmond, Marvin P. Daniel and his wife, Cathy of Richmond, Christopher F. Daniel and his partner, James Schnobrich of San Francisco, Calif.; and six grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ryland Hudnall, John and Will Daniel and Pullen and Alex Daniel. A celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 1 at First Presbyterian Church in Richmond. Memorial gifts may be made to Collegiate School or to a charity of one's choice.

DELORME
Mary Theresa Delorme, 53, beloved wife and mother, of Richmond, died at her residence July 30, 2002. Mrs. Delorme was born in Burlington, Vt. She was a lab technician with the Carpenter Company in the Reinhart Technical Center. Preceded in death by her father, Roger Boucher, she is survived by her husband of 35 years, Graille William "Tony" Delorme of the home; her daughter, Dianna Lee Thomas of Colonial Heights, Va.; her son, Bryan A. Delorme and his wife, Becci of Colonial Heights; three grandchildren, Shannon A. Thomas, Emily B. Delorme and Laura G. Delorme, all of Colonial Heights; her mother, Beatrice Boucher; her mother-in-law, Claire J. Delorme, both of Burlington, Vt.; three sisters and two brothers, Ann Boucher of Burlington, John Boucher and his wife, Leslie, David Boucher and his wife, Julie, all of Williston, Vt., Judy Adams and her husband, Patrick of Colchester, Vt., Michelle Mayette and her husband, Jonathan of Shelburne, Vt.; sister-in-law, Beverly (Delorme) Piche' and her husband, Bernard of Ocala, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Bruce H. Delorme of Swanton, Vt.; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; a multitude of friends, especially her best friend, Judy Weyland of Hopewell, Va.; and her Guardian Angel for her final year, Brenda Taylor of Chesterfield. A Mass of the Resurrection will be said in St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 4400 Beulah Rd., on Saturday, August 3 at 1 p.m. The interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The pallbearers will be Anthony Weyland, Paul "Joe" Shrader, Perry Woolridge, Robert Rose, Thomas J. Long and Jesse L. Tuck Jr. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel, 3050 W. Hundred Rd., of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Friday beginning with a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m. and visitation until 9 p.m. Flowers are appreciated, however, those who wish to do so may make contributions in Mary's memory to the Hospice of Central Virginia, 5540 Falmouth St., Richmond, Va. 23228 or to her favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
