Frances H. Thomas
Frances "Gaga" Holland Thomas, 96, of Danville, died Thursday, April 8, 2004, at the Roman Eagle Memorial Home.
She was born Nov. 6, 1907, in Greensboro, N.C., to Charles and Minnie Atchinson Holland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Thomas.
She owned and operated the former West Main Grocery in Danville and was a member of West End Christian Church in Danville.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Monday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart and a graveside service will follow at the Thomas family cemetery in Vesta.
Memorials may be made to: West End Christian Church, 130 Montague St., Danville, Va. 24541.

Rodney J. Fringer, former purchasing director, dies
Rodney Joseph Fringer, 83, of 684 Ferndale Dr. Collinsville, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was born Nov. 15, 1920 in Roanoke to Rodney Dew Fringer and Ruth Himes Fringer, both deceased. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Roanoke and from Virginia Tech in 1950. He retired from Henry County Administration where he was director of purchasing for more than 13 years. He served in the Army, was a veteran of WWII and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Olivia "Libby" Young Fringer, of the home and one niece.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Norris Funeral Service. The Rev. Jonathan Hamman will officiate. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke.
Visitation will be held an hour before the service.
Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1527 E. Church St. Ext., Martinsville, Va. or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Thelma G. Clark
Thelma Elaine "Lane Bug" Gravely Clark, 54, of 2 Aaron St., died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
She was born April 1, 1950, to Watkins C. Gravely Sr. and Mildred Prunty Gravely, both deceased.
She attended Albert Harris High School, was an employee of National Homes and a member of St. Paul High Street Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, George Clark, of the home; one son, Geno Clark of Martinsville; four sisters, Virginia G. Riley, Gloria G. Foster and Mary G. Howard, all of Martinsville, and Yvette M. Foreman of Fieldale; five brothers, Watkins C. Gravely Jr. of Coleman, Fla., Michael D. Gravely of Dilwyn, Tason "Pugh" Foreman and Kenneth Wooten, both of Martinsville, and Christopher Wooten of Ridgeway; a step-mother, Elizabeth Wooten Gravely of Fieldale; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Shiloh Way of the Cross Church. Bishop Earley Dillard will officiate and burial will be in Carver Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends a half hour before the service at the church and at other times at the home.
Hairston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marvin C. Craighead
Marvin Clay Craighead, 72, of 4885 Chatham Road, died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Martinsville, to David Roy Craighead and Matilda Gravely Craighead. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Roy Cabiness, and one sister, Viola Gravely.
He retired from Henry County Schools after 34 years of service and was the former principal of Leatherwood Elementary School. He was a former Boy Scout Troop leader, a member of the VEA and NEA, and a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, trustee and treasurer.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah H. Craighead, of the home; four daughters, Marvette Craighead and Maranda Rooks, both of Richmond, Debbie Henderson of Greensboro, N.C., and Bonnie C. Tarpley of Reidsville, N.C.; two sisters, Virginia Walker of Philadelphia and Aurelia Grant of Newport News; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. Michael Penn will officiate and burial will be in Carver Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church an hour before the funeral and at other times at the home.
Hines Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.

Timothy S. Donovant
Timothy Shane Donovant, 18, of 85 Tanner Lane, Bassett, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Arrangements will be announced by Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home.

Lewis O. Mize
Lewis OB "Joe" Mize, 74, of Bassett, died June 10, 2004, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was born June 30, 1929, in Bassett, to Dock James Mize and Jennie Shelton Mize. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepmother, Ollie Martin Mize; two brothers, Henry Jackson and Posie Edward Mize; three sisters, Velvie Ratcliff Meeks, Beaulah Marie Bowman and Vienna Willard.
He was a member of Fairway Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby Dodson Mize, of the home; one daughter, Carolyn M. Torango of Bassett; two brothers, Harry Mize and Kennis Mize, both of Bassett; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Fairway Baptist Church. Pastors Michael Montgomery and Ron Peal will officiate and burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. today at the church.
Bassett Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Tobias I. Pacheco
Tobias Imeldo Espana Pacheco, 49, of Martinsville, died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was born December 20, 1954, in Mexico, to Melquiades Espana Ramirez and Petra Pacheco Lopez.
Surviving are three sons, Jesos Espana Jimenez and Faustino Espana Jimenez, both of Mexico, and Reng Espana Jimenez of Martinsville; six daughters, Tergsa Espana Jimenez, Imelda Espana Jimenez, Ernestina Espana Jimenez and Briseyda Espana Jimenez, all of Mexico, and Silvia Espana Jimenez and Martha Espana Jimenez, both of California.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday at Bassett Funeral Service. Burial will be in Mexico.

William D. Robertson
William Dayton Robertson, 81, of Blue Ridge Rehab Center and formerly of 1204 Rives Road, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Blue Ridge Rehab.
He was born March 5, 1923, to Lester Robertson and Lillie Kate Robertson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters.
He served in the Army during WWII and the Korean conflict. He retired from National Homes after 40 years service and was of the holiness faith.
Surviving are two sons, Gary William Robertson of Ridgeway and Dale Robertson of Martinsville; two sisters, Dorothy Hazelwood of Greensboro, N.C., and Ruby Wade of Alabama; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Community Funeral Services chapel. The Rev. William "Bill" Preskitt will officiate and burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service.

Mary H. Turner
STONEVILLE, N.C. -- Mary Vernon Hairston Turner, 44, of 162 Ridgewood St., Stoneville, died June 9, 2004, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
She was born November 23, 1959, in Johnson City, Tenn., to Melvin Vernon and Lillian Vernon.
She was employed at RSVP Communications and attended New Commandment Ministries in Reidsville and Agape Bible Christian Fellowship.
Surviving are her husband, George R. Turner, of the home; two sons, Darryl Lamont Turner of Martinsville, Va., and Brandon Lee Hairston of the home; one daughter, Dea Michelle Turner of the home; two sisters, Carol Vernon of Virginia Beach, Va., and Jacqueline Vernon of Reidsville; two brothers, Johnny Moore of New York and Melvin Moore of Greensboro.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, at Hairston Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. C. Lee Hagwood Sr. and Pastor Cassandra Broadnax will officiate. Burial will be in the Turner family Cemetery, Bassett.
The family will receive friends a half hour before the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
