CARY
Pearl Watson Cary, age 88, of Route 1, Crewe, Va., passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2001. She was the widow of John Samuel Cary and is survived by two daughters, Doris Bryant and Jean Farrar, both of Crewe; two sisters, Lois Brooks of Crewe and Clarice Cary of Richmond; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2001, at the Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home, Blackstone. Burial in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice, Va. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nottowway County Emergency Squad.

CECCHINI
Angeline F. "Lina" Cecchini, 96, of Richmond, died Monday, January 1, 2001. Her remains rest at Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Ms. Cecchini retired from Thalhimer's with 44 years of service.

COLEMAN
Mrs. Shirley S. Coleman of Ebony died January 2, 2001. Survived by two sons, Donald E. Coleman of Jacksonville, N.C. and Robert Coleman of Crewe; a daughter, Carol C. Roquet of New Bern, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Funeral service Friday, 2 p.m. in Prospect United Methodist Church, Ebony. Interment Prospect Cemetery. Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

DANIELS-DEWEY
Genevieve Mahon Lang Daniels-Dewey, 74, died December 31, 2000 after a brief illness. Bee was the daughter of Mary and Ashby Mahon. She was predeceased by her husbands, Russell Lang, J.W. Daniels Sr. and Ralph Dewey. She is survived by her son, Patrick Lang and his wife, Susan of Denver, Colo.; her daughter, Chloe Lang Leback and her husband, Tom of Charlottesville, Va.; her daughter, Christie Lang of Irvington Va.; and three grandchildren, Todd and Emily Leback of Charlottesville and Laura Lang of Irvington. Bee enriched the lives of all who knew her with her vitality and love of life. She attended Westhampton College and taught kindergarten for 29 years; the first 12 years at Cedar Crest Kindergarten, which she founded, and the next 17 years at St. Michael's Episcopal Day School, both in Bon Air, Va. There will be a service at Grace Episcopal Church in Kilmarnock, Va., at 2 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2001, with reception following. There will be a memorial service with interment later this spring at Manakin Episcopal Church in Powhatan, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either Grace Episcopal Church Outreach or Manakin Episcopal Church discretionary fund.

DAVID
Dale M. David Sr., 61, of Chester, died Thursday, December 28, 2000, in Chippenham Medical Center. He was born in Washington, D.C., and was the son of the late William S. and Louise Sweeney David. He was employed as a mechanic at Allied Chemical, Hopewell, for many years where he was a member of the Emergency and Fire Brigade and since his retirement, he had the pleasure of being a member of the Heritage Chevrolet family in Chester. Among his greatest pleasures in life were riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Lynne M. David; two sons, Dale M. David Jr. and Dean M. David and his wife, Sharion Ford David; three grandchildren, Branden Dean David, Justin Wayne David and Lauren Michelle David, all of Chesterfield; sister, June David Lockwood of Virginia Beach; brother, Gary S. David of Hagerstown, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 West Hundred Road, Chester, on Saturday, January 6, 2001, from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or The American Heart Association. Mr. David's family would like to thank all the members of the family, the coworkers of Allied Chemical and Heritage Chevrolet, and friends and neighbors for their support and kindness during the past 15 years of his illness.

Alfred James Dickinson III, 84, of Richmond, Chairman of the Board of Alfred J. Dickinson Inc., Realtors, died Sunday, December 31, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Vick Mattingly Dickinson; two sons, Alfred James Dickinson IV of Kyoto, Japan and Paul Mattingly Dickinson and his wife, Judy Flinn Dickinson; two daughters, Elsie Stringfellow Dickinson Hovis and Mary Bridgers Dickinson Wall and her husband, Wyatt Wilson Wall Jr., all of Richmond; 11 grandchildren, Paul Mattingly Dickinson Jr. and his wife, Alison Rebecca Coyner Dickinson of Ashland, Mass., John Chalmers Dickinson of Fredericksburg, Jane Barham Dickinson, Sarah Stringfellow Hovis, James Butler Hovis Jr., Thomas Alfred McCaslin Hovis, Lassiter Skiles Wall, Wyatt Wilson Wall III, Sanford Gregory Wall, Anna Dickinson Wall, all of Richmond, and Maiya Dickinson of Kyoto, Japan; and two sisters, Lucy Stone Dickinson Spencer and Bertha Trotter Dickinson Taylor, both of Newport News. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Christopher's or St. Catherine's School. Arrangements by the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave.

Wanda Lee Dillon, 82, of Ashland, Va., formerly of Hamlin, W.Va., widow of Dorsey Leon Dillon, died Tuesday, January 2, 2001. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy Dillon and W. Michael Jett and Dreama Lynn Dillon Terrill; two grandsons, J. Clint Terrill, Timothy Dillon Jett and wife, Sharon; two granddaughters, Nancy Michele Jett Barker and husband, Dennis and Emily Chase Terrill; two great-grandsons, Elson Leon and Charles Edward Jr. Mrs. Dillon was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hamlin, W.Va. and Order of the Eastern Star, Hamlin #106. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, corner of Rt. 301 and Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, Va., followed by a funeral service at 7:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, W.Va., where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday. Interment Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Lung Association.

DOOLEY
Larry Dale Dooley, age 54, of Quinton, went to be with our Lord Monday, January 1, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carolyn Van Ness Dooley; two daughters, Vanessa Dale Taylor and Kimberly Dooley; two grandsons, Gene and Tommy Taylor; one brother, William Lee Dooley; and a host of loving family members and friends. Mr. Dooley was a member, deacon and treasurer of Kentwood Heights Baptist Church. His remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 12 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Kentwood Heights Baptist Church. Interment Washington Memorial Park. EVANS
George W. Evans Jr., 89, of Shumansville, formerly of Richmond, died Monday, January 1, 2001 in HealthSouth Medical Center, Richmond. Born in Bluefield, W.Va., he had retired as sales manager for Sealtest Foods and was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Shumansville. Survivors include two sons, Michael and Margaret Evans of College Station, Texas and Christopher Evans of Shumansville; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 5, 2000 at 2 p.m. in Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, with Rev. Carl A. McIntire III officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Thursday, 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 22370 Mattaponi Trail, Milford, Va. 22514.

Margaret Lynn Odom Fahed, of Richmond, died December 31, 2000. Margaret was a 1948 graduate of John Marshall High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Faris Joseph Fahed, owner of Virginia Food Products, Inc. She leaves to cherish her memory Shearn Fahed Teconchuk and husband, Jon, Patricia Fahed Trice, Kimberly Fahed Freda and husband, Domenico, Victoria Leigh Fahed, Faris Grady Fahed and wife, Amy; sister, Charlotte Odom Drebber; Donald Grey Trice; grandchildren, Jon Faris and Ann Margaret Teconchuk and Jack Faris Fahed; and a host of relatives and friends. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday. FLAHERTY
Vincent Gregory Flaherty Sr., 84, of Richmond, passed away Friday, December 22, 2000. He is survived by three children, Vincent G. Flaherty Jr. of New Hope, Pa., Jennifer Johannessen of Rosemont, Pa., and Donna F. Tyler and husband, Webb L. Tyler of Richmond; five grandchildren, Lara Marie Tyler, Kristine Hanes Tyler and Douglas Webb Tyler, Jodi Ann Flaherty Mayo and John Michael Flaherty; two great-grandchildren, Logan Alexis Mayo and Daniel Zachary Mayo. Mr. Flaherty served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II and the Korean Conflict. A memorial service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2000 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 300 N. Sheppard Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to Marine Corp Reserve, Toys for Tots, 6000 Strathmore Rd., Richmond, Va. 23234, Attn: Staff Sgt. Robertson.

GILL
Marshall T. Gill, 83, of Midlothian, died Monday, January 1, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy L. Gill; his children, Roger Gill (Faye) of Varina, Lynda Gordon (Michael) of Greenville, S.C., Karen Deneroff (Jan) of Oakton, Va. and Janet G. Richardson of Midlothian; one brother, Lewis Gill of Claremont; a sister, Mary K. Gill of Washington, D.C.; seven grandchilden. Mr. Gill was a World War II Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Tuscaloosa and the USS Biloxi. He retired from E.I. duPont with 28 years of service. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday. Interment 2 p.m. on Thursday at Claremont Cemetery, Claremont, Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Manchester Vol. Rescue Squad.

GORDON
Eva Glenelle Gordon (Dinty), 79, of Richmond, has left this life to dance with the angels. She is survived by three sons, Earl Huband, Lee Huband and Bobby Huband; one brother, Garvin Hamner; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and many, many friends through Dinty's School of Dance. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Dinty's cousin and lifelong companion, Audrey Martin.

HAGUE
Eugene R. Hague, 71, of Mechanicsville, died Sunday, December 31, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lethea B. Hague; two sons, Kenneth E. Hague and Kevin L. Hague, both of Mechanicsville; daughter, Leslie M. Hague of Anchorage, Alaska; a grandson, Jeremy L. Hague; a granddaughter, Brittany N. Hague; and a daugher-in-law, Carolyn F. Hague, all of Mechanicsville. Mr. Hague was a retired electrician, a longtime member of the Civil Air Patrol, and served in the Virginia Air National Guard. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2001. HAZELL
Rita (O'Brien) Hazell, 84, formerly of Leominster, Mass., and a resident of Midlothian, Va., for the past two years, died yesterday in Johnston-Willis Hospital. Mrs. Hazell was born on June 7, 1916, in Leominster. She was the daughter of Edward O'Brien and Evelyn Donnelly O'Brien. Mrs. Hazell graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Brighton, Mass., also St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School in Fitchburg and St. Leo's Elementary School in Leominster. She was a registered nurse and worked at Worcester County Hospital. She was a lifelong member of St. Leo's Parish. She is survived by one son, John J. Hazell of Midlothian, Va.; one daughter, Mary Lou Masterson of Yoba Linda, Calif.; one sister, Mildred Torcoletti of Leominster; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held from the Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St., Leominster, on Saturday, January 6, 2001, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Leo's Church, 128 Main St. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg, Mass. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Friday, January 5, 2001, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of the donor's choice.
