WRIGHT
Garland Leo Wright Jr., age 48, of Richmond, formerly of Roanoke, died Thursday, May 3, 2001. He is survived by a sister, Betty Jo Snyder of Roanoke; two brothers, William O. Wright of Richmond and Jerry L. Wright of Roanoke; a close friend Tom Fulcrod of Ashland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity. Services will be private. Arrangements by Oakey's North Chapel.

BRANNAN
Robert Andrew Brannan, 42, of Sandston, died September 18, 2002. He is survived by his mother, Brenda Courtney; stepfather, Jack Courtney; daughter, Katie Lail; three sisters, Linda Palmore, Sherry Callahan and Pamela Miller and husband, Lee; two grandchildren, Dymond and Christopher Jr. Mr. Brannan was employed by J.M. Palmore Company, and he enjoyed Civil War relic hunting and the history of the Civil War. The family will receive friends at K.L. Jordan Funeral Services, 5008 Nine Mile Rd., Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2002 at Gethsemane Church of Christ in Mechanicsville, Va. BURRUSS
Francis Atwell Burruss, 93, of Richmond, died September 12, 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Hannah Elizabeth Walker Burruss; two sisters, Katherine Burruss Holland and Hannah Burruss Swortzel; and three brothers, William Walker Burruss, Henry Walker Burruss and George Granville Burruss. He is survived by many devoted family members and friends, including 12 nieces and nephews, 20 great-nieces and great-nephews, 18 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews and one great-great-great-niece. Mr. Burruss received his undergraduate degree in math and science from Randolph-Macon College, Ashland, Va. (1931), and his graduate degree in education from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va. (1951). He was a high school teacher and principal in the Virginia school systems of the Town of West Point and the Counties of Accomack (Tangier Island), Halifax and Madison. He also taught for one year in Japan at the American School. He concluded his teaching career in Richmond working with the visually handicapped. He served in the 66th Army Air Force Base Unit during WWII as a forecaster and weather observer from 1942 until 1945, and his foreign service included assignment to China, Burma, India in 1944. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lawrenceville, Va. and Brookland United Methodist Church in Richmond, where he taught Sunday School for many years. Mr. Burruss was an avid hunter and fisherman, with a great love for the outdoors. A service of interment will be held Sunday, September 22 at 1:30 p.m. at the Burruss family Cemetery, Reedy Mill Rd. in Caroline County. A memorial service will follow on Sunday, September 22 at 3 p.m. at Brookland United Methodist Church in Richmond. Memorial contributions may be made to The Frank and Elizabeth Walker Burruss Scholarship Fund at Randolph-Macon College, P.O. Box 5005, Ashland, Va. 23005, or to Brookland United Methodist Church, 2501 Staples Mill Rd., Richmond, Va. 23230.

CARWILE
Ruth Roberts Carwile of Cullen, died Thursday, September 19, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence E. Carwile of Cullen; three children, Lawrence Edward Carwile Jr. and his wife, Nita of Covington, Ga., M. Page Carwile and his wife, Gay of Bedford, Texas, Ruth Ann Shapley and her husband, Roger of Toms River, N.J.; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Madisonville Presbyterian Church with interment in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. Shorter Funeral Home of Farmville is in charge of arrangements.

DANDOIS
Felix Joseph "Joe" Dandois, 57, of Chester, Va., passed away September 18, 2002. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lindsay Tinsman; and his mother, Evelyn Lowe Dandois. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Dandois; children, Megan Dandois of Arlington and Lisa Horowitz and her husband, Steve and their son, Nicholas, all of Norfolk; his father, Felix Dandois; sister, Pam Macedo and her husband, Wally and their son, Matthew, all of Fremont, Calif.; and other loving family members. Mr. Dandois retired from the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel and was a member of Warwick Lodge No. 336. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, with a Masonic Memorial Service to be conducted by Metropolitan Lodge No. 11 A.F.&A.M. at 7 p.m., and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lindsay Tinsman Scholarship Fund, c/o J.R. Tucker High School, 2910 Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23294, the American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association.

GARNETT
John Muscoe "Jack" Garnett, 89, formerly of Sherwood Drive, Hopewell, died Thursday, September 19, 2002 in Bowling Green, Va. Mr. Garnett was born in Walkerton, Va. and had made his home in Hopewell since 1957. He was a member of Baron of The Magna Carta Society, Jamestown Society, the Hopewell Rotary Club and First Baptist Church. Mr. Garnett was a retired salesman with Strosnider Chevrolet after many years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. and Louise Whealton Garnett of King and Queen County; and a son, John M. Garnett Jr. Mr. Garnett is survived by his wife, Marguerite Thomas Garnett of Bowling Green, Va.; one daughter, Judith G. Dunnington of Fredericksburg, Va.; three grandchildren; and one brother, Charles L. Garnett Jr. of West Point, Va. A graveside service will be held Monday, September 23, 2002 at 2 p.m. in Appomattox Cemetery, with the Rev. Willie Cromer, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 2nd Street and Randolph Road, Hopewell, Va. 23860. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.

GARRETT
Lt. Colonel Thomas Henry Garrett Jr., born on February 4, 1937, died September 18, 2002. He was a graduate of Sewanee military Academy, University of Richmond and the University of Virginia. He was a retired Henrico County teacher and coach at Tuckahoe Middle School. He is survived by his parents, Col. and Mrs. Thomas Henry Garrett Sr.; his wife, Sharon Garrett; his son, Thomas Henry Garrett III; his brother, Frank Garrett and wife, Ellen along with their children, Camm, Laura and McEnery, all of Richmond. He is also survived by his nephew whom he helped to rear, Michael Milchin and wife, Amy along with their children, Garrett and Colby of Verno Beach, Fla. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church on Grove Ave. Memorial service will be held Monday at St. Stephens Episcopal Church at 11 a.m., followed by graveside rites and burial at St. James Presbyterian Church Cemetery, King William Court House, Va., at 12:30 p.m. Arrangements by B.W. White Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thomas Henry Garrett Jr. Scholarship Fund, c/o Greg Taylor, 12201 Kain Rd., Glen Allen, Va. 23059, or the St. James Endowment Fund, P.O. GEE
Everett Warner Gee Jr., 59, of La Crosse, Va., formerly of Victoria, Va., died September 20, 2002. Mr. Gee was employed at Victoria Hardware and Furniture Company for over 30 years. He was an active member of the Victoria Fire and Rescue for over 40 years, a life member and former fire chief. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Webb Gee; a daughter, Jo Ann Bauer of Keysville, Va.; a son, Everett W. Gee III of Keysville, Va.; his father, Everett W. Gee Sr. of Victoria, Va.; six stepchildren, Daniel W. Hoke of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., Pamela H. Callahan of South Hill, Va., Samuel D. Hoke of Chase City, Va., Jodi H. Snead and Jennifer H. Sharber, both of South Hill, Va., Cynthia W. Williams of Kennesaw, Georgia; two grandchildren, 11 stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Brame Gee. The family will receive friends Sunday, 4 to 6 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home, Victoria, where funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 23, 2002 at 2 p.m., with interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Victoria. HOLMES
Peggy Driver Holmes, 51, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 17, 2002. She is survived by her parents, Lawrence I. and Gladys V. Driver; son, Alton Ramsey; sisters, Patricia Thomas and Susan G. Wood; brother, David M. Driver; several half sisters and half brothers. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Robinson. Graveside services will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday in Bermuda Memorial Park. No visitation is scheduled. MORRISSETT FUNERAL HOME

JAMESON
Mr. Archer Leroy Jameson, 95, of Williamston, N.C., died Thursday, September 19, 2002. He was born October 13, 1906 in Alexandria, Va. to the late Archer L. and Ann Ruch Jameson. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Lindsley Jameson; his son, Roy Jameson; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Busby. Mr. Jameson retired in 1972 as Vice President of Virginia Electric and Power Company. He was a member of Williamston Presbyterian Church. Friends may call Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston, N.C. and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be held at Biggs Chapel on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. David Wyly officiating. Burial Woodlawn Cemetery.

KILLMON
Elizabeth Mayer Killmon, age 83, of Mechanicsville, died Thursday, September 19, 2002. She was the widow of Carl Thomas Killmon. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Clara Mayer Moore of Richmond; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Remains rest at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 East Laburnum Ave. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church.

NICHOLLS
Ruth Parker Nicholls of Charlotte, N.C. died of a stroke at home September 19, 2002. Ruth was born September 14, 1913 in Cartersville, Va., the daughter of the late Raleigh and Agnes Hewett Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Winfree Nicholls; her parents, six sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia F. Nicholls of the home; nieces, Lucy Ann (Charles) Cella, Clara Drewery, Lois (Earl) Henley and Norma (George) Warriner; and nephews, Clayton Parker and Charles Riley. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 22 in the Powhatan Community Cemetery, Powhatan, Va. PEASE
Ann Pedigo Pease, 82, of Sandston and Hopewell, died September 20, 2002. She is survived by two daughters, Jerry Kelly and husband, Allen and Linda Reynolds and husband, Mark; one son, Jimmy Pease Jr.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pease was a retired employee with the State of Virginia Highway Department and the coordinator for Meals On Wheels in Hopewell. Remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, and where services will be held 12 noon Monday. NELSEN FUNERAL HOME

POLLAK
Theresa Pollak, 103, patron saint of Richmond's art community, died Wednesday, September 18, 2002. She is survived by her niece, Sara Pollak Gallant; nephew, Philip Pollak Jr. and his wife, Fran of Westport, Conn.; great-nephews, Philip Lee Pollak and John Braxton Pollak; great-niece, Linda Pollak Wins; great-great-niece, Holly Sage Wins; beloved friend, Marcia Adams; special friends, Beverly Reynolds and John Bryan and many other faithful friends. A memorial service to celebrate Miss Pollak's life will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2002 in the Commons of Westminster-Canterbury, 1600 Westbrook Ave. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Archival Department of Temple Beth Ahabah, the Scholarship Fund at VCU School of the Arts, or the Fellowship Fund at Westminster-Canterbury. Gladys Mae Pope, 82, of Richmond, formerly of Frog Level in Caroline County, died Thursday, September 19, 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Mary Gray; and by her beloved husband, Joe R. Pope Jr., who passed July 5, 2002. Remains rest at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2002 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Pilots Lane.

PRINCE
Florence Mildred Allen Prince, age 87, died September 20, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Peter Edward Prince Jr. of Emporia; three daughters, Dorothy J. Temple of Colonial Heights, Pat J. Smith of Chesterfield and Ann J. Wells of Waverly; one son, Monroe Jackson of Richmond; two sisters, Thelma Lee Smith and Celea Bradley; and one brother, Milton W. Allen, all of Emporia; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 23 at 1 p.m. at the Echols Funeral Home, Emporia, with interment to follow in the Independence United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
