Edna H. Wilson
Edna Hundley Wilson, 85, of Martinsville, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville.
She was born in Pittsylvania County on March 10, 1920, to Tony Adam Hundley and Minnie Wilson Hundley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Wilson; a daughter, Kathleen W. Newcomb; a son, W.T. Wilson Jr.; two sisters, Virtrue Hundley and Clara McDonald; and two brothers, John Adam Hundley and Jesse C. Hundley.
She was a homemaker and a member of Greenwood Baptist Church in Axton, where she was the Training Union Class teacher.
Surviving are three daughters, Dorothy W. Freeman, Lelia W. Grimes and Nellie W. Davis, all of Axton; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Redd officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends today at Community Funeral Services from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of her daughter, Nellie Davis, 432 Wilhaven Lane, Axton.

J. Troy Arrington
J. Troy Arrington, 67, of 1428 Plantation Drive, Collinsville, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006.
He was born in Fieldale on April 25, 1938, to Garfield Arrington and Clara Lawson Arrington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Phillips Arrington.
He was part owner and operator of Garfield's Place. He was a member of Lynwood Golf Club, Amvets of Martinsville and Henry County- Post 35 and the Eagles Club of Collinsville.
Surviving is his sister, Pat Arnold of Fieldale.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Norris Funeral Services chapel with the Rev. Susan Brack officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and other times at the home of his sister at 10 Acorn St., Fieldale.

Wilbur Smith Doyle
Wilbur Smith Doyle, 81, of 16520 A.L. Philpott Highway, Martinsville, died Monday, Jan. 2, at his home.
He was born on June 27, 1924, in Henry County to William Shelton Doyle and Ora Smith Doyle, both deceased.
He served in the Army-Air Corp in the Aleutian Islands during World War II. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 1948. He established Doyle Lumber Co. Inc. in 1948, Doyle Foundation Inc. in 1952, Doyle Ready-Mix Concrete Co. in 1956, Doyle industries Inc. in 1976 and Arrowood Technologies Inc. in 1984. He retired in 1989.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lillie Turner Doyle of the home; three daughters, Gail Doyle Gregory of Martinsville, Sarah Doyle Krebs of Greensboro, N.C. and Mary Elizabeth Doyle of Reidsville, N.C.; two sons, Wilbur Smith "Smitty" Doyle Jr. of Martinsville and David Reid Doyle of Wilmington, N.C.; nine grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Doyle Hall of Greensboro, N.C.; and two brothers, James Shelton Doyle and Claude Elliott Doyle, both of Martinsville.
He was past president of Southeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association, Virginia Chamber of Commerce and Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce. He was a former member of Economic Policy Committee of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States, U.S. Small Business Administration Development Center Advisory Board, Economic Development Corporation of Martinsville-Henry County, and Small Business Advisory to the Secretary of the Treasury during the Carter, Regan and Bush administrations.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Martinsville where he was a Sunday school teacher for the Chevis Horne Class and a former deacon. For Wake Forest University, he had served on the Board of Visitors, and he was a member of Pro Humanitate Society, President's Club and the Deacon Club.
He was a member of the Martinsville Rotary Club for 55 years and had served as president and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He also was a member and former president of Chatmoss Country Club.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Martinsville with the Revs. Dr. E. Leon Smith and John T. Fulcher Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Comprehensive Cancer Center, Medical Center Blvd., Winston-Salem, N.C., 27157.
Arrangements are by McKee-Stone Funeral Services.

Fobert Layfatte Forney
Robert Layfatte Forney, 92, of 656 Plantation Road, Martinsville, died Sunday, Jan 1, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born Nov. 5, 1913, in Columbus, Ohio, to John Wilbur Forney and Sarah Elizabeth Caldwell Forney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Simpson Forney, and brothers, Fred Forney and John Forney.
He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and Shriners in Columbus, Ohio, for more than 65 years. He was a personnel officer for the Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C., for 26 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Martinsville.
Arrangements will be announced by Norris Funeral Services.

Julio Cesar Alvarez Fregoso
Julio Cesar Alvarez Fregoso, 31, of 353 Fuller St., Axton, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 28, 1974, to Julio Alvarez and the late Maria Fregoso in Guadalajara, Mexico.
He was a carpenter with J.T. Construction.
Surviving are his father, Julio Alvarez of the home; two daughters, Liliana Alvarez and Alejandra Alvarez, both of Axton; one sister, Julissa Alvarez and one brother, Julio Alvarez Jr., both of Axton.
A mass will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends at Community Funeral Services in Ridgeway from 6-7 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Guadalajara.

Stella Watkins Fuller
The funeral for Stella Watkins Fuller, 87, of 1607 Spruce St., Martinsville, who died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, was Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at Mount Sinai Holiness Church in Axton with Elder Bruce Simmons officiating. Burial was in the Watkins Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Glen Martin, Harold Morrison, Richard Watkins, Julius Carter, Gary Waller and Joseph Watkins.
Hines Funeral Services Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Edith Boyd Hancock
The funeral for Edith Boyd Hancock of 785 Hodges Farm Road, Martinsville, who died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, was held Monday, Jan. 2, 2006 at Collins Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Greg Hodges officiating. Burial was at Roselawn Burial Park.
Pallbearers were Jason Spence, Justin Spence, Randy Patterson, Kenneth Quigg, Mike Chaney, G.K. Via, Joe Kendrick, Dennis Quigg and Walter Chitwood.

Thomas Dolphus Harbour
The funeral for Thomas Dolphus Harbour, who died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, was held at 1:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Russell Gresham officiating.
Burial was in the Mountain View Cemetary with full military honors provided by the Martinsville-Henry County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
Pallbearers wre Brian Harbour, Herbert Hatcher, Lonza Hatcher, Ron Harbour, Neal Harbour and Tom Fain.
Community Funeral Services handled arrangements.

Charles Gray Hundley
Charles Gray Hundley, 69, of 109 Warren Court, Martinsville, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Community Funeral Services of Ridgeway.

Frank Miller Jr.
Frank Miller Jr., 55, of 218 Cannan Land Drive, Gretna, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2006, at Riverside Health Care in Danville.
He was born June 4, 1950, in Pittsylvania County to Frank and Elizabeth Stone Miller, both deceased.
He had worked at Single Source Transportation Co. in Crozet, Va.
Survivors include two sons, Travis Fuller of Penhook and Jason Miller of Martinsville; four daughters, Tammy Witcher of Woodbridge, Nayketa Miller of Martinsville, Lashawn Reynolds of Hurt and Penny Thomspon of Newport News; four brothers, William Miller of Greta, Glen Miller of Chatham, Arthur Miller of Washington, D.C. and Charles Miller of Temple Hill, Md.; six sisters, Rachel Hobb and Brenda Shepherd, both of Washington, D.C., Faye Diggs of Suitland, Md., Myra Motley of Ringgold, and Sharon Miller and Velma Miller, both of Gretna; and one granddaughter.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Miller Funeral Home chapel in Gretna with the Rev. B.J. Baize officiating. Burial will be in Elba Cemetary.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
