Ms. Janice Patrice Dunn entered into eternal rest Friday, August 10, 2001. She is survived by two sisters, six brothers, six aunts, one uncle, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts., where funeral services will be held Thursday, August 16, 12 noon. Rev. Gracie T. Jones officiating. Interment in Maury Cemetery. Relatives and friends attending funeral services assemble at the funeral home Thursday, 11:30 a.m.

FREEMAN
Marie Seldon Freeman, 90, formerly of 1910 Fine St., Prince George Co., Va. died August 13, 2001. She was born to Carrie B. and Mack Henry Seldon of Prince George, Va. and was a member of Bethesda Full Gospel Baptist Church, Colonial Heights, Va., where she was a Deaconess, usher, Sunday school teacher and a member of the Missionary Society. Survivors include her daughter, June F. Turner, Portsmouth; two sons, Joseph A. Freeman and his wife, Shirley, of Midlothian, and Raymond H. Freeman of Chester; five grandchildren, Michael R. Turner, California, Hollee Raye Freeman, Boston, Mass., David and Annette Freeman, Midlothian, and Dwight L. Turner, Portsmouth; four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, 2:30 p.m. at Bethesda Full Gospel Baptist Church, with Rev. Roscoe H. Jones officiating. Burial Mt. Minnis Memorial Park, Chester, Va. The family will assemble at the church at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday.

GAULDIN
James D. Gauldin, age 63, of McKenney, Va., died Monday, August 13, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte R. Gauldin; three children, Daniel, Mark and April Gauldin; five grandchildren, Daryl, Travis and Brooke Gauldin, Chat and Caitlyn Whit, all of McKenney; two brothers, Lee Gauldin of McKenney, Steve Gauldin of Chesterfield; and a sister, Gloria Doughty of Petersburg. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 16, at 2 p.m. at the Sharon Baptist Church in Darvills, Rev. Donald Tatum officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Crewe VFW Post No. 7819. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home in Blackstone.

HACKETT
Mildred L. Hackett, 75, of Sandston, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2001. Funeral notice later. Arrangements are being handled by Nelsen Funeral Home.

HAVERKAMPF
John L. Haverkampf IV, ended a year long battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma still fighting strong on Saturday, August 11, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Caroline; two daughters, Jamieson and Ivy; and two brothers. John enjoyed life to the fullest and his unexpected early passing will not take away from the John Haverkampf spirit and joy of life he left with so many of his friends, family and fellow golfers. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in the name of John L. Haverkampf IV, to the Lymphoma Research Foundation of America to fund research in finding a cure for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, 8800 Venice Blvd, No. 207, Los Angeles, Calif. 90034, 310-204-7040, or The Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship to support young amateur golfers, 1 Briar Road, Golf, Ill 60029. The funeral and burial will be in Atlanta, Ga. The family will also be receiving friends at home in Richmond, August 15 at 5 p.m.

Linzie Holder Jr. of Richmond departed this life Monday, August 13, 2001. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral notice later.

HOLMES
Randy Joe Holmes, 41, of Chesterfield, passed away August 14, 2001. He is survived by his three children, Kimberly, Steven and Erin Holmes; his parents, Faye and Robert Carter; two brothers, Dickie W. Forte and Charles M. Holmes. A great man, loving son and father. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday. Interment Dale Memorial Park.

JACKS
Ethel Jacks, 81, of Richmond, widow of Cecil Jacks, died on August 13, 2001. She was born July 23, 1920 in South Africa. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Neville and Ros Jacks; her daughter and son-in-law, Beverley and Clive Fox; grandchildren, Avraham and Reuven Jacks, Nicole, Anthony, and Michael Fox, Bridget, Cyndi, and Clifford Jacks; two brothers, Jock and Monty Zion, and their families; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Ethel was a staunch and valued member of the Jewish community in Vereeniging, South Africa. She devoted much of her time doing volunteer work for the community. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in B'Nai Shalom Cemetery in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beth Shalom Home of Virginia, 1600 John Rolfe Parkway, Richmond, Va., 23233.

Departed this life August 14, 2001, Mr. Samuel L. Jefferson of 3328 North Ave. Remains rest at the Scott-Lightfoot Funeral Home, 3021 "N" St. Services to be announced.

JOHNSON
Crasty E. Johnson entered into eternal rest on August 10, 2001 at MCV Hospitals. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Linwood Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory six children, Pendelope Morris, Dale Greene, Travis Green, Lisha Garrett, Amanda Johnson, and Crasty N. Johnson; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, John M. Green Jr.; two sisters, Mae Banks and Pasty Jackson; several nieces and nephews, two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, one brother-in-law, a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where the family will receive friends Wednesday, 7 to 8 p.m. Remains will lie in state Thursday, 10 a.m., at Manna Christian Fellowship, 6851 S. Laburnum Ave., where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Bishop Marvin Mason officiating. Burial Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Crasty Johnson, P.O. Raymond Lee Kenney, Sr. of Richmond died August 12, 2001. Surviving are his wife, Yvonne Davis Kenney; four sons, Raymond Lee Jr., Randy L., James W., and Marcus O. Kenney; seven grandchildren; one brother, Tyrone Kenney; one sister, Barbara Ann Kenney; one aunt, Lucille Coles; one uncle, Willis Anderson; one daughter-in-law, Bridgett Kenney; three sisters-in-law, Florence and Ethel Kenney and Patrice Davis; two brothers-in-law, Matthew and Sylvester Hunter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Boulevard, where private funeral services will be held Thursday at 12 noon. Bishop Nedon Putney officiating. KIMBRIEL
Marcia Ann Bowlin Kimbriel, 65, of Colonial Heights, died Tuesday, August 13, 2001 at Chippenham Medical Center in Richmond. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Bowlin. Mrs. Kimbriel was a member of the Highland United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights. She is survived by her husband, John Ruell Kimbriel; children, Karen Sue Newmyer, Cynthia Ann Rigney, Kristy Kimbriel Samper, Scott Allen Kimbriel, all of Richmond, and Jennifer Marie Watkins of Charlottesville; and grandchildren, Brandon, Ana, John, David, Antoinette, Elyse, Garrett, Mitchell and Daniel. She is also survived by her mother, Anna Mae Gray Bowlin; and a brother, Donald Edward Bowlin. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 16, 2001, 2 p.m., at Highland United Methodist Church, Westover Ave., Colonial Heights, with the Rev. David Lewis and Rev. Dennis Lipke officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester. The family will receive friends tonight, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, P.O. Dorothy M. Koerber passed away on August 13, 2001. Beloved wife of the late Walter A. Koerber; devoted mother of Walter W. Koerber, Patricia J. Lana, Cheryl A. Ford and the late Mark B. Koerber; loving grandmother of Kimberly A. Novak, Heidi L. Delogu, Amy L., Elizabeth A. and Natalie J. Koerber, Patricia Scott, Vincent Lana, Erin and Jason Ford, Mark Koerber; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Evans Chapel of Memories, Parkville, Md. 10 a.m. Thursday. MAXEY
Roy Lee Maxey died August 11, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Pauline; son, Calvin; daughter, Sue; granddaughters, Rachel and Bethany; and great-grandson, Brennen; brothers, Harry, John, Donald, Wesley; sisters, Anne, Frances, Elizabeth and Edith. Mr. Maxey was a decorated veteran and POW who served in Europe and World War II. Memorial service August 17, 2 p.m. at Westhampton Memorial Park Mausoleum. Family will receive guests August 17, 3 to 5 p.m., at 9567 Kimberly Lynn Cir., Laurel Lakes.

McGEHEE
Joseph S. McGehee, age 86, of Richmond, widower of Olive W. McGehee, died Tuesday, August 14, 2001. He is survived by two daughters, Barbara M. Reynolds and her husband, Matthew, Sandra M. Barnes; two granddaughters, Leann Owings and Shannon Reynolds; two grandsons, Shaun Reynolds and Michael Barnes; one great-grandson, Benjamin T. Owings III; also several nieces and nephews. Mr. McGehee was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was retired from Home Beneficial Life Insurace Co. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

MEEKS
Minnie B. Meeks of Bumpass, Va. entered into eternal rest Monday, August 13, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart and daughter, Alice. She is survived by four sons, David Wayne, Michael, Roger and Jimmy Meeks; her daughter, Joyce Smith; five grandchildren, one great-grandson; two brothers, Buck and Tom Perry; two sisters, Georgia Becker and Virginia Henshaw. Her remains rest at the Lacy Funeral Home, Rt. 522, Mineral, Va., where the family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services 11 a.m. Thursday in Little River Baptist Church, Bumpass, Va. Interment church cemetery.

MERCER, Evelyn E. Mercer, 82, of Richmond, died on Monday, August 13, 2001. She was the widow of Melvin L. Mercer. Survivors include her children; Johnny, Jimmy and Darrell Mercer and Lera Jones, 13 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.

MONROE
Bishop Hezekiah Monroe Sr., age 83, died August 9, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Mary Monroe; one son, H. Mason Monroe of Mitchellville, Md.; one granddaughter, Katrina Cloud of Houston, Texas; and a host of other relatives, friends, and members of the ministry. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where the family will receive friends Wednesday, 7 to 8 p.m. Remains will lie in state Thursday, 12 Noon, at New Covenant Apostolic Church, 2129 Ford Ave., where the celebration of life services will be held 1 p.m. Bishop Willie Suggs, Pastor, Elder Sandy Carrington, and Elder Theodore Williams officiating. Burial Roselawn Memory Gardens.
