WEIRUP
Margaret Whitmore Weirup, age 76, went to be with our Lord on February 1, 2001. She is survived by her devoted husband, Conrad Weirup; daughter and her spouse, Nan and Kenneth Stewart; son and his spouse, Bob and Renee' Weirup; two sisters, Ann Collins and Catherine Wray; three brothers, Berle Whitmore, Mickey Whitmore and Horace Whitmore; and four granddaughters, Lauren Stewart, Shelby Stewart, Rachel Weirup and Danielle Weirup. She lived a full and happy life and was deeply loved. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad Street, where a service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday with interment to follow in Westhampton Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Welborne United Methodist Church.

WILSON
Vernon Franklin Wilson, 72, of Callao, died January 31, 2001. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and VFW Post #7167, Warsaw. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Gentry W. and Michael King, Farnham, Elizabeth Faye and Butch Horton, Callao; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Terry Dunaway, Warsaw; sisters, Doris Ann King, Warsaw, and Anna W. Fones, Callao; grandchildren, Danielle and J.R. Dunaway, Kyle King, Ashley and John P. Horton; great-grandchild, Kyla Scott. Funeral services 2 p.m. Saturday at Jones-Ash Funeral Home, Rainswood. Interment Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Callao. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

BAYLOR
Jane Banks Baylor, 85, of Tappahannock, died Saturday, September 9, 2000. She was the widow of Robert Waring Baylor Sr. She had been active in many civic organizations and a member of Vauter’s Episcopal Church. She is survived by her children, Margaret B. Sturt and her husband, Guy of Carson, Jane B. Moore and her husand, Marty of Chesterfield, Robert Waring Baylor Jr. and his wife, Jeannette of Loretto; her grandchildren, Samuel G. Sturt IV and his wife, Julie, Margaret Latane Sturt and Robert Waring Baylor III. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in Vauter’s Episcopal Church, Loretto. Interment church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Port Tobacco Farm, Loretto. Memorial contributions may be made to Vauter’s Episcopal Church, Hospice or Tappahannock Rescue Squad.

COHEN
Ms. Suzanne Webb Cohen, died Saturday, September 9, 2000. She is survived by her two sons, Cory and Cody Cohen; her parents, Jack and Mary Webb; two sisters, Cindy Webb and Terri Worthington; one brother, Michael Webb; her fiance, Bob Devine and his daughter, Bridget Devine. Remains rest at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. Graveside services will be conducted at Westhampton Memorial Park 2 p.m. Tuesday.

DUNN
Ruth H. Dunn, age 91, of Richmond, widow of John G. Dunn Sr., died Sunday, Septemer 10, 2000. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John G. Jr. and Martha A. Dunn; two grandchildren, Vivian Wimmer and Tony Dunn; and her devoted friend, Patrina Joyner. Mrs. Dunn was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Order of the Amaranth, the White Shrine and the Walmsley United Methodist Church Senior Citizens Group. Remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday in Dale Memorial Park.

EASON
Abraham Darlington Eason Jr., 70, of Midlothian, went to be with his Lord Jesus on Saturday, September 9, 2000. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Marilyn Turner Eason; daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and J.P. Harrison, Cindy and Eric Ecklesdafer and Melanie and Wayne Mitchell; son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Cathy Eason; daughters, Julie Creasy and Jennifer Eason; and granddaughter, Hayley Creasy. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Wise of Claxton, Ga.; brother, Jerry Eason of Savannah, Ga.; stepmother, Margaret Eason of Claxton, Ga.; and stepbrothers and sisters, Linda Sikes, George Eason, Julia Wildes, Gayle Thagart, Paul Eason, Martha Davis, Tim Eason and Ellen Moncure, all of Ga. A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, at Huguenot United Methodist Church. The family invites you to attend a reception immediately following in the fellowship hall.

GREGG
William R. Gregg, 73, of Richmond, Va., died September 8, 2000 at home. Survived by his daughter, Valerie Gregg of Alexandria, Va.; by his son and daughter-in-law, William J. Gregg and Sarah Gregg of Atlanta; his stepgrandchildren, and great-grandchildren; his sister, Bette Stebbins of Cary, N.C.; one brother, Charles Gregg and family, Duxbury, Mass.; his sister, Joan Callahan and family of Williamstown, Mass.; his sister, Ellen Van Eck and family, Cary, N.C. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, graduated from Bucknell University 1953 BSME, and retired from Philip Morris. Funeral services at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 8706 Quaker Lane, Bon Air, Va., Monday at 3 p.m.

GROSIK
Margaret (Mig) Grosik of Virginia Beach, began her final journey on September 9, 2000. She was the wife of the late, Joseph C. Grosik Sr., whom she married on September 14, 1940. They shared 39 years of wonderful marriage. She was born on July 6 in Vintondale, Pa., to Bertha and Joseph Vargo, Hungarian immigrants. After her father’s death in a car accident, Joseph Kerekes took on the role of being her "apa". She had two brothers, Bill and Johnny. Margaret was a retired federal government employee with 33 1/2 years of service, first with the War Department in D.C., and later the Quartermaster Corps at DGSC-Bellwood, in Richmond, Va. She had many opportunities and experiences ranging from teas’ at the White House to working on the Manhattan Project. Margaret was always ready for a challenge, often being the only woman leader. She enjoyed her life and filled it with traveling, playing basketball, shopping, dining out, movies, and her two dogs (Linus and Sydney). Margaret had a great sense of humor and a truly giving spirit. She will be remembered and missed by many. She had been a member and officer of Altrusa, NARFE, the Moose, AARP, and the ladies guild at her churches. She was the loving mother of three children, Jospeh C. Grosik Jr. of Ohio, Dr. Rosemary K. Helton, and Charles D. Grosik, both of Virginia. She was the proud grandmother of Joseph C. Grosik III of Ohio, Bridget E. and Jacquelyn M. Bilodeau and Cody R. Helton, all of Virginia. We are all grateful to our mom, dad and grandparents for all they did, said, and gave from their hearts. Thanks for always being there for us. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated by Father William H. Carr at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Richmond Tuesday, September 12, 2000 at 9:30 a.m. with burial at Grand View Cemetery in Johnstown, Pa., on Wednesday, September 13, 2000. A Christian Wake service will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2000 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name to Sugar Plum Bakery, 1353 Laskin Rd., Virginia Beach, Va. 23451, should be made.

HARRISON
Mrs. Dorothy Mae Harrison of Richmond, departed this life Sunday, September 10, 2000. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral notice later.

HATCHER
Departed this life September 6, 2000, Charles Hatcher of 1417 Blair St. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Josephine M. Hatcher; one sister, Elizabeth Archer; two brothers, Connie and Noble Hatcher; host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; three sisters-in-law, Dolly Lewis, Joyce Arrington and Christine Hatcher; two brothers-in-law, Richard Motley and Robert Lewis Jr.; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave., where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Ricardo Brown officiating. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. HERMANN
Mr. George Henry Hermann, 86, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, departed this life September 8, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy B. Hermann; a daughter, Frances H. Garrett and son-in-law, Raymond M. Garrett; a son, G. Melvin Hermann and daughter-in-law, Rinda H. Hermann; granddaughters and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen M. Goddard, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur R. Bell III, Mr. and Mrs. Craig A. Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. William O. Woodward and Miss Amy B. Hermann; and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest C. Hermann, John B. Hermann; two sisters, Marie Frese and Dorothy Burcham. Mr. Hermann dedicated his life to the family farm for over 60 years. He was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he served in many capacities. He was an alumnus and devoted supporter of Luther Memorial School. His remains rest at Bliley Funeral Home’s Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and where funeral services will be held 12 Noon Monday. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Luther Memorial School.

KING
Mary S. King, 82, of Richmond, died September 9, 2000 at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the widow of Robert B. King. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce K. Sexton and her husband, Richard P. Shumaker, and Patricia K. Wallace and her husband, Larry D. Wallace; four grandchildren, Chuck L. Sexton, Rene S. Jones, Robert D. Wallace and his wife, Stephanie, and Kenneth D. Wallace, all of Richmond. She was a resident of Brandermill Woods and retired from the Virginia Department of State Police. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home’s Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. There will be a graveside service 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice.

LAIL
Joyce Dunlap Lail, 85, of Crewe, Va., formerly of Victoria, Va., widow of Webster Cameron Lail, died Saturday, September 9, 2000. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Samuel (Sam) C. and Lola M. Lail of Crewe; four granddaughters, Shelia Lail-Peade of Blackstone, Karen L. Lail of Midlothian, Kim L. Biggs of Bracey, and Julie L. Porter of Virginia Beach; three great-grandsons, Adam and Mitch Biggs and Jacob Cannon Porter. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Joseph (Joe) Lail. The family will receive friends Monday (today) 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home, Victoria, and where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, 2 p.m., with interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria. Memorial contributions may be made to the Victoria Fire and Rescue Squad, P.O. Box T, Victoria, Va.

MILLER
Gerald E. Miller Jr., 38, of Doswell, Va., died Saturday, September 9, 2000. He is survived by his parents, Gerald and Janice Miller; grandmother, Alma Rose; sister, Cynthia Miller; brothers and their wives, Greg and Tammy, and Jeff and Carol; nephew and nieces, Dennis, Samantha and Jordan. Gerald is also survived by many friends who knew and loved him like a brother and son. His generous spirit, ever willingness to help, and his sense of humor will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 12, 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Ashland.

NAVARRO
Jorge Lues Navarro, 38, of Highland Springs, went home to the Lord, Sunday, September 10, 2000. He is survived by his mother, Iris M. Palmer and his father, Jose L. Navarro of Florida; two children, Robert and Alex Navarro; a half-brother, Jose Navarro; and several aunts and uncles, all of Florida; and a special aunt, Nina Corella. Mr. Navarro expressed his love and feeling through his painting of native Americans and religious themes. His remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Central Virginia.

ODOM
Evelyn Clifton Odom of Grafton, Va., died Saturday, September 9, 2000 in Richmond. She is survived by her husband, Jesse Winborne Odom; son, Ronald Winborne Odom and his wife, Jennie Moore Odom; daughter, Carolyn Odom Nicoll and her husband, John Nicoll; and four grandsons, John Dowdin Nicoll, Alexander Martin Nicoll, William Leonard Nicoll IV and Matthew Winborne Odom. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home.

REYNOLDS
Albert Franklin Reynolds, 86, of Charlottesville, died September 10, 2000 in Charlottesville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, at Mt. View Baptist Church, with Rev. John Green and Mr. Roger Browning officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be the deacons of Mt. View Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Reynolds’ name to the Mt. View Baptist Church Building Fund, 908 St. Clair Ave., Charlottesville, Va. 22901. Teague Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

ROBINS
Frances W. Robins, 66, of Richmond, died September 10, 2000. She is survived by her husband, William L. Robins; daughters, Donna R. Piacentini and Pamela R. Stone; sisters, Adelene Pierson, Anne Alley, Marge Worsham, Mary Cozart and Shirley Kump; brother, Kermit Wood; granddaughters, Aimee and Emilee Piacentini. Her remains rest at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10), where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, and where her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Virginia, 5001 W. Broad St., Richmond, Va. 23230.
