George Ronald “Ron” Nitch, age 80 of Bracey, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at his residence in Fox Run. He was a wonderful husband, dad, brother, brother-in-law and uncle. He was a retired manager of Botie Instrument Co. in Long Island, NY and an Army veteran. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Evamarie Gast Nitch, his son Greg Nitch of Frankfurt, Germany, his daughter Ingrid Auer and her husband Wolfgang of Raleigh, NC., two sisters Roberta Matarese and her husband Frank of Pennrun, Pennsylvania, Geraldine Stuehringer of New York City and a sister-in-law Linda Nitch of Florida. Mrs. Dorothy Walsworth Boisot
May 28, 1916 - August 10, 2010
Mrs. Dorothy Walsworth Boisot, age 94, of Bracey, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in Roanoke Rapids, NC. . She was homemaker and the widow of Emile Kellogg Boisot II. Mrs. Boisot is survived by a daughter Marion Rodgers and her husband Steve of Salt Lake City , Utah, two sons Bruce Boisot of Los Almos, CA. and Emile K. “Kip” Boisot III and his wife Donna of Bracey, sixteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Peggy Golden of Altedana, Ca. A funeral service will be conducted at a later date with inurnment in Mountain View Cemetery, Altadena, Ca. . The family request memorial contributions to be made to Sierra Madre Congregational Church, 170 West Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre, Ca. 91024-2435.

Mrs. Jean Anderson Jessup
March 5, 1929 - August 9, 2010
Mrs. Jean Anderson Jessup, age 81 of South Hill, died Monday, August 9, 2010 in Richmond. She was a retired teacher for the former South Hill Academy, a member of the South Hill Music Club, Southside Community Chorus, an active member of the South Hill Presbyterian Church where she sang in the Choir and a volunteer at the R. T. Arnold Library. She was the widow of James Campbell Jessup, Jr. and is survived by three daughters Katherine Carpenter and husband Selden of New York City, Susan Foster and husband Rob of Richmond and Martha Jessup of Santa Fe, New Mexico; a sister Merle Edwards of Sandy Level, VA, a brother Verne Anderson of Climax, VA and five grandchildren Kate Carpenter, Christopher, Hannah, Sarah and Emily Foster. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A. M. Saturday at the South Hill Presbyterian Church with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 P. M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Hill Presbyterian Church for Group Home, 914 North Mecklenburg Avenue, South Hill, VA 23970.

Nathaniel Porterfield Daniel
Sept. 16, 1927 - August 5, 2010
Nathaniel Porterfield Daniel 82, of Raleigh and formerly of South Hill, a retired sales manager with Gordon Foods, a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a Charter Member of the Southside Rescue Squad, died Thursday, August 05, 2010.
Mr. Daniel was born on September 16, 1927 in Brunswick County, VA to the late Nathaniel G. and Lottie Freeman Daniel.
Mr. Daniel was preceded in death not only by his parents, but also by his wife Nancy Jones Daniel in 2001,and a son William G.”Jack” Daniel.
Surviving Mr. Daniel are a son Wayne P. Daniel of Buford, GA; two daughters Martha Ann Boush of Roanoke, VA and Karen D. White of Raleigh, NC; two brothers Macklin G. Daniel of Alberta, VA and Richard M. Daniel of Colonial Heights, VA; sister Jean Elizabeth Travis of Richmond, VA; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the Crestview Cemetery in South Hill, VA.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels ,1001 Blair Dr., Raleigh, NC 27603 or Resources for Seniors, 1110 Navaho Dr. Fourth Floor, Raleigh, NC 27609.

Mrs. Fay Gulick Seibert
March 6, 1930 - August 5, 2010
Mrs. Fay Arlene Gulick Seibert, age 80 of Palmer Springs and formerly of Woodbury, NJ and Tappahannock, VA, died Thursday, August 5, 2010 in Community Memorial Healthcenter. She was the widow of Warren Frank Seibert after 45 years of marriage and is survived by her daughter Becky Jean Seibert-McKinney and husband Patrick of Palmer Springs, her son Robert Wayne Seibert and wife Nancy of Wenonah, NJ, eight grandchildren Frank Wilson, Tracey Marino, Jennifer Hicks, Robert Seibert, Jr., Shannon Kappre, Warren Seibert, ll, Scott Seibert and Edgar Seibert, eighteen great grandchildren and her daughter in law Toni Seibert. She was predeceased by a great grandchild Haleigh Kappre. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A. M. Sunday, August 15 at Ferebee’s Food & Spirits in Tappahannock. Memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes- South Jersey Division, 3012 Main Street, Voorhees, NJ 08043, Atten: Little Angels.

Mrs. Helen May Fogg
December 13, 1919 - July 31, 2010
Mrs. Helen May Fogg, age 90 of South Hill and formerly of Northwood and Rochester, New Hampshire, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 in Community Memorial Healthcenter. She was active in several organizations in New Hampshire including her Church and Rescue Squad. She was the widow of David C. Fogg and is survived by her son David C. Fogg, Jr. of La Crosse, her daughter Linda Lynch of Chase City; two brothers Wilbur Fifield of Tilton, NH and Harry Fifield of New York; five sisters Eva Heath of Salisbury, NH, Florence Bernard of Manchester, NH, Rosalie Philibert and Marion St. Jacques both of Franklin, NH, and Lena Savage of Jefferson, NH; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A. M. at the La Crosse United Methodist Church with visitation at the Church beginning at 10:00 A. M. A second service will be Wednesday in the Franklin Baptist Church in Franklin, NH at 11:00 A.M. with a visitation starting at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the La Crosse United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 279, La Crosse, VA 23950.

Charles Vorn "CV" Thompson
January 10, 1928 - July 28, 2010
Mr. Charles Vorn “CV” Thompson, 82, of La Crosse, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010. He was a welder/mechanic having worked for Fluor Daniel Construction Co. during the construction of the North Anna Power Plant and a United States Air Force Korean Conflict Veteran. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years Agnes Owen Thompson and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment in Crestview Memorial Park with American Legion military Honors. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Kenneth Logan "Honeysuckle" Hightower
March 30, 1943 - July 23, 2010
Mr. Kenneth Logan “Honeysuckle” Hightower age 67 of South Hill, died Friday, July 23, 2010 in Community Memorial Healthcenter. He was a South Hill Chevron employee and is survived by two daughters Helen Hardy of Keysville and Kandace Blanton of Bracey; two sons Brian Hightower of Clarksville and Brad Hightower of Chase City; five sisters Mildred Lenhart of Chase City, Nancy Hughes of Acworth, Georgia, Becky Singleton and Betty Reid both of Richmond and Cathy Clements of Red Oak; six grandchildren and one great grandson. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Sunday at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment in the Wells Family Cemetery on Sky Line Road. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 8:30 P. M. at the funeral home.

George Clifford Terwilliger
January 25, 1913 - August 18, 2010
Mr. George Clifford Terwilliger, age 97 of Tanglewood Shores, Bracey, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in the W. S. Hundley Annex. He was a retired Designer-Architect for Commercial Interiors, a 32nd degree Mason and past Master of Mount Kisco Masonic Lodge #708. He was the widower of Florence Conroy Terwilliger and is survived by two daughters Donna Moor and husband David of Natick, MA and Gail Terwilliger of Fayetteville, NC; a granddaughter Jesse Pezzullo and husband Daniel, a grandson Joshua Moor and wife Michelle and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Kimball is survived by her daughter Linda Kimball Crowe and husband John, a son Alton J. Kimball, Jr., a sister Eva Mae Crowe all of South Hill and a nephew James R. Crowe of Clarksville. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in Shiloh United Methodist Church, Northview, with interment in the church cemetery. Mrs. Mary Luella Simmons, 68, of La Crosse, died August 21, 2010 at her residence. She was a private caregiver. Mrs. Simmons is survived by her husband James Jay Simmons, a daughter Annette Wing of Bracey, four sisters Deborah Taylor of Romulus, New York, Christine Smith of Liveoak, Fl., Luella Scott of Newton, Al., and Brenda Ellis of Quincy, Fl., four brothers Grover Taber II of Central Square, NY, Albert Taber of Fulton, NY, Freddie Taber of Qunicy, Fl. and Sherman Taber of Yankton, SD., three grandchildren Joshua Lett, Jeffrey Previtire II and Angela Preitire and one great grandchild Elizabeth Previtire. She was predeceased by a sister Emily Hance.

Doris Anne Pleasants
October 2, 1926 - August 21, 2010
Mrs. Doris Anne Pleasants, 83, of South Hill, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 in Community Memorial Healthcenter. She was a graduate of Radford College, a science teacher in Virginia Public Schools, a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and the wife of fifty-five years of Gafford Yancey “Yank” Pleasants.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a step-son Gafford Yancey Pearce of Lewisville, NC, a sister Lois Bersch of Rochester, NY, and two step-grandsons Chris and Nathan Pearce.
A Memorial Service will be conducted Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in All Saints Episcopal Church with a private inurnment in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 201 Franklin St. South Hill, Va. 23970 or the charity of your choice.
