William J. Bakken
William J. Bakken, 52, of Ashburn, an Economist for the U.S. Government, died Jan. 11 at Georgetown University Hospital.
Bakken, born in New York City, was a U.S. Army veteran and a founding member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Ashburn.
Survivors include his wife, Laura L.Bakken of Ashburn; one daughter, Kirsten E. Bakken of Ashburn; one son, Soren W. Bakken of Ashburn; and one sister, Ann J. Boehm of Long Island, N.Y.
Services were held Jan. 15 at St. David’s, the Rev. Stephen McWhorter officiating. Interment was at St. David’s Cemetery.

Kenneth Clifton Caylor
Kenneth Clifton (Ki) Caylor, 73, of Sterling died Jan. 13 at the Veterans Administration Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born in Ashburn, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and had been employed by Giant Carpets. He was a former member of the Ashburn Volunteer Fire Department, and played baseball for Ashburn in the early 1950s through the late 1960s.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Eileen Caylor of Sterling; four daughters, Linda M. Baker and Joyce M. Nguyen, both of Sterling, Janet L. Belotti of Gainesville and Joann L. McVey of Cary, N.C.; one brother, Clarence (Pete) Caylor of Leesburg; one sister, Marion C. (Bootie) Eamich of Ashburn.
Services were held Jan. 17 at Colonial Funeral Home, the Rev. John E. Peterson officiating. Interment was at Union Cemetery in Leesburg.
Col. Robert W. Gregory
Col. Robert W. Gregory (USAFR) of Sterling died Jan. 16 at
Johnson Center.
Born Feb. 10, 1922 in Allensville, Ky., he was a retired Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, a life member of the Retired Officers Association and a member of the Air Force Association, National Aerospace Foundation, the N.J. Aerospace Education Foundation, the Cookstown, N.J. VFW, the New Egypt American Legion, the Rocky Mountain Masonic Lodge No. 40 and San Antonio Consistory (32nd Degree) and other organizations. He was a lifelong Republican.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Fulton Gregory of Sterling; four daughters, Janice Altadonna of Woodbury, N.J., Barbara Gregory of Fairfax, Patricia Kenworthy of Washington, D.C. and Sylvia Sims of Temple, Texas; two brothers, George Gregory and Ronald Gregory, both of Clarksville, Tn.; two sisters, Sylvia Cotton of Schenectedy, N.Y. and Freda Morrison of Clarksville, Tn.; and son-in-laws Anthony Altadonna and Montie Sims; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation hours are 1 p.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, with services at 2 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg. Graveside services with full honors will be held at 3 p.m. Jan. 27 at Arlington National Cemetery, with Chaplain Hank Dunn officiating.
Junior Franklin Jeffries
Junior Franklin Jeffries of Chantilly died Jan.14 at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.
Born Dec. 7, 1942 in Rappahannock, he had been employed as a plumber in the construction field.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Hilda Jeffries of Chantilly; two daughters, Penny and her husband, Scott
Jones of Haymarket; and Michele and her husband Tracy Heacock of Sterling; three brothers, Robert, Louis and Preston Jeffries; two sisters, Lucille Gray and Mary Ann Wiltshire; and two grandchildren, Caitlin
Jones and
Carter Jones.
A funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 17 at
Green Funeral Home, with interment at Ada Cemetery in Ada, Va.
Louvenia R. Addison
Louvenia R. Addison of Sterling and a 50-year resident of Arcola, died Jan. 26 at Mary Washington Hospital.
She was born April 9, 1913 in Duffield, Va, and has been employed as a nurse’s aid in a nursing home. She was the widow of the late Franklin C. Addison.
Survivors include her children, James Franklin Addison of Strasburg, Gertha Addison Hancock of Burr Hill, Va., Sheila Addison Grimes of Springfield, and Sharon Addison Bowen of Sterling; four sisters, Lola Hawes of Rogersville, Tn., Maysie Krickler of Rogersville, Tn., Helen
Brown of Mt .Airy, Md., and Ida Covey of Mt.Airy, Md.; seven grandchildren and four-great-grandchildren. Services were scheduled for Jan. 29 at
Green Funeral Home.Interment was private.
Margaret M. Cohen
Margaret M. Cohen of Sterling died Jan. 28 at Loudoun Long Term Care in Leesburg.
She was born Aug. 23, 1916 in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Cohen.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Castellano and her husband David of Sterling; one son, Arthur Cohen of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were scheduled for Feb. 1 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Sterling, with interment at Sterling Cemetery. Arrangements were by

Marel Vernon Fulcher
Marel Vernon Fulcher of Sterling died Jan. 29 at Cameron Glen Care Center.
He was born July 2, 1906 in Smythe County, Va. He has been employed as a farmer.
Survivors include his sister, Loraine F. Polend of Sterling and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family was to receive friends at
Green Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2. Services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Feb. 3 at
Green Funeral Home, with interment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Elizabeth Rajamany Bias
Elizabeth Rajamany Bias of Sterling died Feb. 3 at Loudoun Hospital Center.
She was born March 29, 1944, and had been employed as a cosmetologist.
Survivors include her husband, Harry Bias of Sterling; a son, David Anand Bias of Sterling; her mother, Mabel Victor of Malaysia; and three brothers, Cecil Victor, Charles Victor and Henry Victor, all of Malaysia.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 and noon-1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11 at the Fairfax Assembly of God in Fairfax, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Sterling Cemetery.

Ronald W. Blake
Former Supervisor Ronald W. Blake, who died in Leesburg Feb. 6, was remembered during a moment of silence at the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors meeting Feb. 7.
Blake served on the Loudoun Planning Commission from 1965-1975, acting as Chairman during the final three years of his tenure. He was elected Catoctin District Supervisor in 1976.
He served as Councilman Representative to the Leesburg Board of Architectural Review 1991-1994, the Leesburg Town Council 1992-1994, and the Leesburg Airport Commission 1993-1998. A memorial service was scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Catoctin Presbyterian Church in Waterford.
