Rev. James Dewitt Snow
The Reverend James Dewitt Snow III, pastor of Sterling United Methodist Church, died of cancer April 13 at his home.
Born Jan. 12, 1952 in Suffolk, Va., he graduated from Warwick High School in 1970 and received a B.A. from Elon College in 1974 and his Master of Divinity from Duke University in 1977.
Pastor Snow was called to ordained ministry in 1970, graduated from seminary in 1977 and accepted his first appointment. He served five churches in the Virginia Conference, First Church Broadway, Broadway; St. James, Pleasant Valley; Ashbury Memorial, Richmond; Scott Memorial, Virginia Beach; and Sterling UMC.
Survivors include his wife, Laura, a public school teacher in Loudoun County; two sons, Joshua, a junior at Virginia Wesleyan College, and Jordan, a freshman at the University of Tennessee; one daughter, Bonna, a junior at Park View High School; his parents, James D. Snow Jr. and Betty Virginia Joyner Snow of Newport News, Va.; and one brother, Barton Mitchell Snow of Yorktown, Va.
Services were held Monday, April 17, with interment at Sterling Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Sterling UMC, New Building Fund or the Scholarship Fund, 304 E. Church Road, Sterling, Va. 20164.
Oswald C. (Huck) Downs
Oswald (Huck) Clifton Downs, a native of Loudoun County, died April 19 at Fairfax Nursing Center. Born Aug. 27, 1913, he was a self-employed grocer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Thompson Downs.
Survivors include his sons, Kevin Downs of Vienna and Stuart and wife Jacqueline Downs of Harrisonburg, and one grandson, Elliot Downs of Harrisonburg.
Funeral services were scheduled for April 25 at

Gen. William L. Fagg
Gen. William Lafayette Fagg (USAF Ret.), a career Air Force officer and resident of the Broad Run community in Sterling, died April 17 at Reston Hospital Center.
Born July 18, 1905 in Blanco, Okla., he was a graduate of the U.S. military Academy at West Point and the University of Virginia Law School. He served almost 30 years in the Air Force. His medals include American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany), National Defense Service Medal, Silver and Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster and the Bronze Star Medal. After his military career, he served as Director of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS). He also taught math at Langley and Loudoun High Schools and was an active member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg.
The husband of the late Virginia P. Fagg, his survivors include two sons, William R. Fagg of Springfield and William Brower of Washington, D.C.; four daughters, Fayette Fagg of Sterling, Lisa P. Fagg of Portland, Ore., Pat Perce of Littleton, N.H. and Virginia Singer of Alexandria;a brother, Clark Fagg of Texas; a sister, Loudale Fagg of Arlington, Texas; and ten grandchildren, John Brower, Alexandria Brower, Steven Brower, Christine Jackson, Edison Jackson, Danielle Singer, Darcey Singer, Leslie Singer, William R. Fagg and Lisa P. Fagg, all of Arlington, Texas.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. May 10 at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 14 Cornwall St. N.W., Leesburg, Va. 20176. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg.
Terry G. Briggs
Terry G. Briggs, LCDR USN (Ret.) died May 3 at his home in Sterling.
He was born Sept. 6, 1940 in Marquette, Mi.
Survivors include his wife, Aloma Key Briggs; his children, Traci Ratcliff of Gainesville, Fl. and Derrick Briggs of Sterling; and grandchildren Meghan and Jennifer Ratcliff.
Services were held Friday, May 5 at Christian Fellowship Church in Ashburn, with interment May 6 at Forest Lawn Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials in his name may be made to Brain Tumor Society, 124 Watertown St., Suite 32-H, Watertown, Ma. 02472. Arrangements were by

Frank J. McCormick
Frank J. McCormick, 93, died May 17 at Falcons Landing in Sterling.
Born Dec. 31, 1906 in Danville, Iowa, he earned Bachelors and Masters degrees from Iowa State College. He served as a designer for the Iowa Highway Commission before joining the faculty of the Applied Mechanics Department at Kansas State University in 1939. He retired as a Professor of Civil Engineering in 1977. In retirement, he was active in volunteer work for the Arts Council and Public Library in Manhattan, Kansas. He was a Life Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a Fellow of the Society for Experimental Mechanics.
Survivors include his sons, Dennis McCormick of Sterling and Michael McCormick of Reston; a granddaughter, Diane Guy of Mechanicsville, Md.; and a grandson, Jeffrey McCormick of Sterling. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Lee McCormick.

Suzanne June Casey
Suzanne June Casey of Las Vegas, Nev., daughter of Stanley and Alberta Zisk of Sterling, died May 27 at Sunrise Mountainview Hospital in Las Vegas.
She was born June 20, 1957 in Washington, D.C.
She is survived by her parents and her husband of 20 years, Gene Casey.
Services were held June 2 at Herndon United Methodist Church, with interment at Sterling Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7203 Poplar St., Annandale, Va. 22003.
Leon Rocha
Leon Rocha of Leesburg died June 12 at Inova-Fairfax Hospital.
He was born Feb. 10, 1938 in Texas, and worked as an Aviation Technician for Continental Airlines.
Survivors include one daughter, Tiffany Rocha, and one son, Lee Damon Rocha.
Interment was scheduled for 9 a.m. June 21 at Arlington National Cemetery. Arrangements by Adams-

Henry J. Becker
Henry J. Becker of Potomac Falls died July 7 at Loudoun Hospital Center.
Viola Becker, his wife of 63 years, died April 24.
He was formerly a resident of Rotterdam Jct., N.Y.
Survivors include a daughter, Gayle T. Becker of Potomac Falls, and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. and Mrs. Becker will be held at noon Saturday, July 15 at United Methodist Church, Main Street, Rotterdam Jct., N.Y., with interment at Woestina Cemetery. Eleanor Louisa Hibbert
Eleanor Louisa Hibbert, 91, of Sterling died June 30 at Heritage Hall Health Care.
She was a native of Salt Lake City, Utah and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ashburn.
Services were held July 6 at Colonial Funeral Home, with Bishop John Dickson officiating. Interment was at Sterling Cemetery.
Survivors include her son, Michael Barrett of Sterling, five grandchildren, and twelve nieces and nephews.
Danny Kirkpatrick Sr.
James Daniel (Danny) Kirkpatrick Sr., 60, died July 3 at his home in Ashburn.
He was a lifelong resident of Ashburn and was born and died in the same house on Hay Road. He was a crew chief in the plumbing division at Loudoun County Public Schools.
Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Janet Kirkpatrick; two daughters, Julie Lynn Burr of Leesburg and Jane Ann Underwood of Ashburn; one son, James Daniel (Jimmy) Kirkpatrick of Ashburn; a sister, Dorothy Elizabeth Lawson of Sterling; three grandchildren, Daniel R. Burr and Joseph M. Burr, both of Leesburg, and Nichole Elizabeth Underwood of Ashburn; two son-in-laws, Dale Michael Burr of Leesburg and Steve Dailey Underwoodof Ashburn; a brother-in-law, Harvey L. Lawson of Sterling; his mother-in-law, Nettie Wilklow of Paeonian Springs; three nephews and two nieces. He was the son of the late John Emory and Janet Kirkpatrick of Ashburn.
