Mabel B. Paige

Mabel B. Paige of Sterling died April 3 at Iliff Nursing Home in Dunn Loring. A native of Virginia, she served as President of the Senior Choir at Oak Grove Baptist Church for 30 years and President of the Industrial Club for many years.

Survivors include her children, Erline Hearns, Esther Marie Terrell, Lee E. Paige Jr., Ada L. Jackson, George Paige, Yvonne Baker, Sheila M. Compton and Laverne Berry; her sisters, Lucille Baylor and Hattie Ellis; sister-in-law Emma Paige and brother-in-law William T. Newman; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held April 7 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with interment at the Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northern Virginia, 6565 Arlington Blvd., Suite 500, Falls Church, Va. 22046, or the Oak Grove Baptist Building Fund, 117 Hall Road, Sterling, Va. 22064. Arrangements were by Adams Green Funeral Home.

Mary Rosalie Hall

Mary Rosalie Hall of Sterling died Friday, April 13 at Columbia Reston Hospital.

She was born Oct. 21 in Alexandria, and was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Hall.

According to Adams- Green Funeral Home, survivors include her children, Patricia Ann Von Kudich of Arnold, Md., Mary Rosalie Smith of Sterling, Donna Marie Sterling of Sterling, James Patterson Paul of Apple Valley, Cal., and Michael Lee Paul of Harrisburg, Va.; a brother, Mark Linwood Mahoney of Bremerton, Wa.; one sister, Irene Elizabeth Vaught of Pensacola, Fl.; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23 at Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium.

Delmar Lynn Webb

Delmar Lynn Webb of Sterling died April 14 at Loudoun Hospital Center.

He was born Oct. 6, 1928 in Spur, Texas. He worked as a consultant for the U.S. Government.

Survivors include his wife, MaryAnn Webb; his children, Tiffany Webb and Derek Webb of Sterling; his brothers, Arlon Webb of Georgia and Wayland Webb of California; a sister, Elvia Henry of California; and one granddaughter, Alexis Webb.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 20 at Adams- Green Funeral Home in Herndon. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Satur-day, April 21, at Christian Fellowship, 21673 Beau-meade Circle in Ashburn, with interment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Christian Fellowship Church, Touching Eternity Building Fund, 21673 Beaumeade Circle, Ashburn, Va. 20147.

Howard D. Tates

Howard D. Tates, a 31-year resident of Sterling, died May 2.

Survivors include 11 sons, Howard Jr., Alfred, John, Irving, Kennedy and William, all of Sterling, Addison and Elvis of Manassas, Arevene of Ashburn, Donnie of Leesburg, and Charles Davenport of Centreville; and five daughters, Lillie Tates, Thelma Lyles and Inez Tates, all of Sterling, Curiva Robinson of Aldie and Annette Ward of Leesburg.

Funeral services were scheduled for 1 p.m Tuesday at Providence Church in Orleans, Va., with interment at Mt. Morris Cemetery in Hume, Va. Arrangments were by Sterling Funeral Service.

James Starkey

James Starkey of Mineral, Va., a former resident of Herndon, died April 30 at his home.

He was born July 14, 1927 in Oatland, Va.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Starkey; his children, Michael David Starkey of Herndon, James Rodney Starkey of Colorado, Douglas Edward Starkey of North Carolina, Richard George Starkey of New Hampshire and Timothy James Starkey of Texas; two sisters, Mary Louise Demory of West Virginia and Ruth Murphy of Sterling; two brothers, Joseph Starkey of Ashburn and Tom Starkey of Leesburg; and nine grandchildren.

Services were held May 4 at Adams- Green Funeral Home in Herndon, with interment at Sterling Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association, 1211 Connecticut Ave., N.W., No. 501, Washington, D.C. 20036.

Edgar W. Boone

Edgar W. Boone, 80, a longtime resident of Sterling who retired to Mississippi in 1985, died May 24.

He was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy and a retired U.S. civil servant.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa L. Boone of Carriere; Miss.; two sisters, Rachel Parlow and Beatrice Lanier, both of Alamo, Tenn.; two brothers, Travis Boone of Alamo and George Boone of Hampton Roads, Va.; two daughters, Bonnie M. Boone of Dallas and Laurie Logan of Herndon; three sons, Daniel V. Boone of Port St. Lucie, Fl., John M. Boone of Sterling and Joseph J. Boone of Fairfax; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled for 10 a.m. June 7 at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association. Arrangements were by Adams- Green Funeral Home of Herndon.

Jane Bliss Prince Cashin

Jane Bliss Prince Cashin of Tunkhannock, Pa. died May 27 at Heritage Hall in Leesburg.

She was born July 29, 1912 in Cortland, N.Y., and graduated from Towanda (Pa.)High School. She attended Miss Illman’s School in Philadelphia. She was a trustee and served for 18 years as secretary on the Tunkhannock Library Board, was a member of the Tunkhannock Historical Society and a member of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of the Episcopal Church.

Survivors include one son, Peter Bliss Cashin of Sterling; a granddaughter, Lisa Aynsley Cashin of Sterling; and a niece, Nancy M. Snyder of Westfield, Pa.

Graveside services were held Monday, June 4 at Hill Cemetery in Towanda, Pa. Memorial donations may be made to the Tunkhannock Public Library. 9 Marion St., Tunkhannock, Pa. 18657.

George John Ondreyka

George John Ondreyka of Sterling died May 26 at Loudoun Long Term Care in Leesburg..

He was born Nov. 15, 1913 in Barberton, Ohio. After the death of his wife in 1970, he retired from the U.S. Post Office in Washington, where he was a supervisor. After retirement, he worked part-time for St. Ann’s Catholic Church Credit Union and Apple Federal Credit Union. He was a resident of Sunrise at CountrySide before entering Long Term Care.

Survivors include his nieces, Diane Elmore of Herndon, Susan Laporte of Michigan and Paulette Moran of Florida; nephews Robert Ondreyka Jr. and Richard Ondreyka of Ohio; grandnieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews.

Services were held May 30 at Fairfax Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in his name to Hospice of Northern Virginia. Arrangements were by Adams- Green Funeral Home of Herndon.

Forest N. Johnson Jr.

Forest N. Johnson Jr. of Herndon died June 6 at Columbia-Reston Hospital.

He as born Feb. 11, 1937 in Herndon.

Survivors include his wife, Jean A. Johnson of Herndon; his children, Forest N. Johnson III and wife Faith of Manassas, Gwindell Johnson and wife Nancy of Chantilly, Anthony Johnson of Herndon and, Jean A. Johnson and husband Steve of Herndon; and six grandchildren.

Services were held June 11 at Adams- Green Funeral Home, with interment at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.

Joyce Jack Lockhart

Joyce Jack Lockhart of Sterlied died May 26 at Loudoun Hospital Center.

She was born April 30, 1933 in Takoma Park, Md., and was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Lockhart.

Survivors include her children, Scott Lamb of Kent Island, Md., Bruce Lamb of Sterling, Dwight Lamb of Kent Island, and Dean Lamb of King George, Va.; a sister, Shirley Johnson of Frederick, Md.; three grandchildren, Christopher Hicks, Kyle Lamb and Amy Lamb; and nieces and nephews.

Services were held May 31 at Adams- Green Funeral Home in Herndon, with interment at Sterling Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association, 1211 Connecticut Ave., N.W., No. 501, Washington, D.C. 20036.
