Reginald Bernard Comeau

Reginald Bernard Comeau, Commander USN (Ret.), 85, died Aug. 26 at Falcons Landing in Sterling.

A native of Fall River, Ma., he retired from the Navy in 1964 after 24 services of service, including duty in Berlin during the 1948 airlift. He served an additional 16 years as a DOD Congressional Affairs Specialist. He was a graduate of George Washington University.

A vocalist, he performed with the Alexandria Barbershop Chorus and as choir director at St. Louis Catholic Church in Alexandria. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Eleanor; daughters and sons-in-law Regina and Jeff Drifmeyer of Hampton, Va., Celeste and Gerald Tucker of Madison, Al., and daughter Skipper Kursch of Sterling; one brother, Gerald Comeau of Tiverton, R.I.; grandchildren Allison Williams, Erin and Julie Drifmeyer and Ryan and Lauren Tucker; and great-grandchildren Brandon and Brady Williams.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at Ft. Myer Old Post Chapel at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association or Falcons Landing Benevolent Fund. Arrangements are by Adams- Green Funeral Home in Herndon.

James Troy Littleton

James Troy Littleton of Sterling died Sept. 2 at his residence.

He was born Jan. 25, 1933 in Terrell, Texas. He was a veteran of Viet Nam and was a member of the Air Force Sergeant Association. He was retired from the Air Force and as marketing director for Unisys.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Littleton; children Twyla Shabtai and her husband Nikko of Beverly Hills, Cal, Jane Jackson and her husband Ryan of Leesburg, and Guy Littleton of Leesburg; five brothers; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18. Memorials may be made in his name to Hospice of Northern Virginia, 9300 Lee Highway, Fifth Floor, Fairfax, Va. 22031-1207, or the American Cancer Society, 124 Park St., Vienna, Va. 22180-4654. Arrangements were by Adams- Green Funeral Home of Herndon.

Keith Elwood Brodd

Keith Elwood Brodd, formerly of Sterling and a past Master of the Sterling Masonic Lodge, died Sept. 23 at his home in Tappahannock, Va.

He was born July 19, 1932 in Swedeburg, Nebraska. Retired from the District of Columbia Highway Department, Bridge Division, he relocated in 1991 to Tappahannock, where he volunteered for the Laborers for Christ, Habitat For Humanity, and Hospice Society of Tappahanock and the Northern Neck. He had been building coordinator at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Herndon and Head Elder at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Calleo, Va. He was the past master of the Sterling Masonic Lodge as well as a member of the Eastern Star Chaper of Herndon.

Survivors include his wife, Maud Gates Brodd of Tappahannock; his children, Sharon Brodd Keating of Chambersburg, Pa. and Keith Wayne Brodd of Sterling; six grandchildren, William, Daniel, and Christopher Keating and Jon-Paul, Nicholas, and Joshua Brodd of Sterling, VA; and two brothers, Elton W. Brodd of Lincoln, Neb. and C. Ferde Brodd of Lake Los Angeles.

Memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, PO Box 369, Americus, Ga. 31709 or Hospice Society, Riverside/Tappahannock, Medical Arts Bldg A, Suite 201, 618 Hospital Road, Tappahannock, Va. 22560.

Margot Ann Franklin

Margot Ann Franklin, 64, of Ashburn died Sept. 29 at Manor Care Nursing Home.

She was born Feb. 26, 1938 in Salem, Mo. She lived in Denver for 27 years before moving to Loudoun County in 1988. She had worked as a covernant administrator in Ashburn Village.

Survivors include her husband, Robert D. Franklin of Ashburn; two daughters, Kelly Gail Franklin and Kimberly Ann Thomas, both of Ashburn; one brother, Larry Glen of Aurora, Co.; and two grandchildren, Andrew Thomas and Caroline Thomas, both of Ashburn.

Services were scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, with Pastor Ed Allen officiating. Interment was at Union Cemetery in Leesburg.

Patricia Lou Moretti

Patricia Lou Moretti of Sterling died of cancer Sept. 5 at Loudoun Hospital Center.

She was born Dec. 22, 1931 in Celina, Ohio.

Survivors include her husband, Virgilio Moretti of Sterling; two daughters, Patricia J. Moretti and Linda Hawkins, both of Sterling; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 18 at Adams- Green Funeral Home in Herndon, with interment in Arlington National Cemetery.

S. Dale Stahlman

S. Dale Stahlman, 83, died July 27 at the James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa, Fl.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1940. He was injured while stationed in England with the 8th Air Force. After he was medically discharged, he began his career with the American Legion in Erie, Pa. In 1950 he transfered to the Pittsburgh office, and in 1955 to Washington.

In 1963 he and his family moved to Sterling. He retired in 1984 from the American Legion and was considered for the position of Associate Administrator of the Veterans Administration. He was a life member of American Legion Post 150 in Sterling. He also was a member of Herndon Masonic Lodge No. 264 AF&AM and Order of the Eastern Star, Herndon Chapter No. 55, Herndon. He was a member of Loudoun Royal Arch Chapter No. 55 Arlington Commandary No. 29, and Kena Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ashburn and associate member of Mapleton Church of Christ (Disciples).

Survivors include his second wife, Marion (Wright) Stahlman of St. Thomas, Ontario; his son, Jeffrey D. Stahlman of Sterling; and three grandsons, Robert D. Stewart II of Louisa; and Zachary J. and Treven A. Stahlman, both of Sterling.

Services will be held Oct 9 at 6 p.m. at Adams- Green Furneral Home in Herndon. His cremated remains will be layed to rest beside his wife,Carlene, Oct 9 at 11 a.m. at Arlington National Cemetery.

Edith Eileen Lake

Edith Eileen Lake of Sterling died Oct. 17 at Loudoun Hospital Center.

She was born Oct. 15, 1937 in Uniontown, Pa., and worked as a teacher aid at Christian Fellowship Church School.

Survivors include her husband, Richard P. Lake of Sterling; two sons, Keith A. Lake of Clearwater, Fl. and Jeffrey L. Lake of Ashburn; one daughter, Karen E. Lake of Sterling; two grandchildren, Joel and Anna; four sisters, Maryolive Hill, Marilyn Wandell, Dorothy Mitchell and Doris Fouch; and three brothers, Charles, Robert and David Wandell.

Services were held Oct. 21 at Christian Fellowship Church in Ashburn, with interment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association, 1212 Connecticut Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036. Arrangements were by Adams- Green Funeral Home of Herndon.

Albert E. Hill

Albert E. Hill, 96, of Sterling died Oct. 25 at Heritage Hall Nursing Center.

Edith, his wife of 65 years, died in 1996. He was a member of the Leesburg Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include his son, Ronald and wife Faye of Sterling; grandson John and wife Bridget of Herndon; and three great-grandchildren.

Interment was at Abingdon Hills Cemetery in Clarks Summit, Pa. Arrangements were by Adams- Green Funeral Home.

Maggi Jones

Maggi Jones of Sterling died of cardio pulmonary arrest Oct. 21 at Loudoun Hospital Center.

She was born Oct. 28, 1946 at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, and was an Administrative Assistant for Loudoun County Public Schools. She also worked for the Malone Foundation for ten years and was a member of the Sterling United Methodist Church for 25 years.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Jones of Sterling, and her children, Becky Weber and husband Manny of Leesburg, and Patrick Jones of Atlanta, Ga.

Services were held Oct. 25 at Sterling United Methodist Church, with interment at Sterling Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Sterling UMC, 304 Church Road, Sterling, Va. 20164. Arrangements were by Adams- Green Funeral Home of Herndon.
