Timothy Lee Long

Timothy Lee Long of Sterling died May 7 at Washington Hospital Center.

He was born Sept. 21, 1967 in Falls Church to Leo and Sandra Taylor Long of Sterling. A graduate of Shenandoah University, he was a teacher for Loudoun County Public Schools, a coach for the Loudoun Little League and Broad Run High School, and taught at Park View High School. He was a member of a Civil War reenactment division.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Julie Ann Long of Sterling; and stepchildren Megan, Tyler and Ryan Wright of Terra Alta, W.Va.

Funeral services were held May 12 at Sterling Park Baptist Church, with interment at Brooks Cemetery in Ewing, Va. Memorials may be sent in his name to the Loudoun County Youth Football League. Arrangements were by Adams- Green Funeral Home of Herndon.

Lance W. Luzadder

Lance Williamson Luzadder of Sterling died June 29 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

He was born Jan. 28, 1983 in Falls Church.

Survivors include his father, Gary S. Luzadder of Sterling; his sister, Annie Laurie Luzadder of Sterling; a brother, Logan Wren Luzadder of Sterling; and his grandparents, Betty Honeycutt of Charlottesville and Claudine Clark of Fisherville, Va. He was the son of the late Claudia Ann Clark.

Services were held July 3 at Adams- Green Funeral Home in Herndon. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Mary Louise Zeitner

Mary Louise Zeitner, 58, of Herndon died July 1 at Reston Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Chris; her children, Heidi (Archer) Carr of Richmond, Derik of Ashburn, and Heather and Samantha of Herndon; her mother, Mable Anderson of Glasgow, Mt.; a brother, Don Anderson; sisters Debra DeCock Forsyth and Karen Berland; a sister-in-law, Lynette Gainan; and one grandson, Freddy Carr.

Services were held July 6 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Herndon.

Sir Charles Bernis Hays

Sir Charles Bernis Hays, 21, died July 14.

A resident of Sterling, he was born Nov. 27, 1982 in Prince George County, Md. to Vanessa Simpson and the late Charles Vernon Hays.

Survivors include his sisters, Letitia A. Hays of Washington, D.C. and Jacentia Hays of Gainesville, Gal; a brother Sir Edward Thomas Ellson of Providence, R.I.; grandparents Bernis C. Hayes of Sterling and Helen Martin of Covington, Ga.; aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held July 16 at Adams- Green Funeral Home in Herndon, with interment at Lawnwood Cemetery in Covington, Ga. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105.

Edward G. Hershey

Edward G. Hershey, 84, of Sterling died Aug. 4 at Loudoun Hospital Center.

Born in Washington, D.C. on Feb. 16, 1920 and the son of the late Oscar E. and Onie Hershey, he had worked as a Southern Bell installer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Helen G. Hershey of Sterling; three daughters, Linda Holmes of Catonsville, Md., Susan Biser of Sterling, and Pam Yockum of Marietta, Ga.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 9 at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, with the Rev. Jay Ahlemann officiating. Interment was at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, Md.

Betty Barrios Rodriguez

Betty Barrios Rodriguez, 77, of Sterling died Aug. 14 at Cameron Glen Care Center.

She was born Nov. 21, 1926 in Barranquilla, Colombia to the late Manuel and Christina Castilla Barrios. She headed the accounts payable department at Myron Manufacturing Corp. in Maywood, N.J. and retired after 30 years. She was a volunteer at Holy Trinity Parish in Hackensack, N.J.

Survivors include her husband, Oscar Rodriguez of Sterling; a daughter, Ilka Rodriguez-Diaz of Sterling; one son, Oscar A. Rodriguez of Sarasota, Fl.; four brothers; and two sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Herndon, with interment at Sterling Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name to Capital Hospice, P.O. Box 1576, Merrified, Va. 22116-1576, or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, Va. 22038-1131.

Mike Webb

Mike Webb of Ashburn died Aug. 9 at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

He was born Sept. 12, 1974 in Winfield, Il. to Wayne E. Webb of Batavia, Il. and Mary Ellen Auer Anderson of St. Charles, Il.

Other survivors include his wife, Jami Webb of Ashburn; a daughter Ashlee Webb of Ashburn; one sister, Cathy Webb of Lisle, Il.; his grandfather, Bill Webb (Catie) of Apache Junction, Az.; his grandmother, Delores Anderson (Paul) of Carol Stream, Il.; Aunt Vicki Webb of Lombard, Il.; and Aunt and Uncle Nancy and Rich Behnke of St. Charles, Il.

A vigil service was held Aug. 12 at Adams- Green Funeral Home in Herndon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ashlee Ellen Webb College Fund. Contact Adams- Green for information.

Max Allen Draper

Max Allen Draper, Jr., 56, a CIA analyst for 33 years, died at his Sterling home Sept. 10. He was born July 25, 1948, in Morrisville, Vt., to Max Allen Draper, Sr., and Alice Carrie (Hines) Draper.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1967 and was stationed in Guam and Japan. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1971, he returned to Vermont. In 1972 he began working for the CIA, where he was an analyst until his death. He was in the Pentagon when it was hit by a terrorist plane on Sept. 11, 2001, but was not injured. He received an Associate degree from the Northern Virginia Community College and attended George Mason University in Fairfax.

He is survived by wife Norma (Walde) Draper, formerly of Pittsburgh; a son, Anthony; his sisters, Janet Draper, of Duluth, Minn., and Kathryn (Bradley) Sullivan, of Marshfield, Wis.; a brother, John, of Riverside, Cal.; and eight nieces and nephews.

Memorial service and internment were held in Vermont. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts and notes to Anthony Draper, 21308 Jackpine Court, Sterling, Va. 20164. Condolences may be sent to ndraper@erols.com.

Lorin Paul Jensen

Lorin Paul Jensen, 70, of Sterling, a United States Air Force veteran, died Oct. 3 at the Washington Hospital Center.

He was born Oct. 3, 1934, in Murray, Utah, to the late Glen A. and Nora Estella Greenwood Jensen. He worked as an accountant for the U.S. Forest Service and served in the USAF.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Jene Jensen of Sterling; children Todd A. Jensen of Leesburg, Vicki Kristen Allison of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Lisa Kay Jensen of Sterling; grandchildren Heather L. Jensen, Matthew T. Jensen, Lauren A. Allison, Ben B. Allison, Hannah P. Allison, David J. Harris II, Brittany A. Harris, Donald P. Harris and Brandi N. Harris.

Services were held Oct. 7 at the Sterling Park Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Berl Donald Jones

Berl Donald Jones, 74, of Sterling, died Oct. 4.

He was born Dec. 5, 1929 in Johnston City, Ill.to the late Edgar and Edith Swift Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte R. Jones of Sterling; children Michele Jones, Donna Adipietro and Berl Jones, Jr., all of New York, N,Y.; grandchildren Dana, Kaylin and Berl; and sisters Roxie Jones of Naperville, Ill. and Genevieve Norton of Bourbonnaise, Ill..

Services were held Oct. 6 at Adams- Green Funeral Home in Herndon, and Oct. 9 at Campbell's Funeral Home, New York, New York. A graveside service was held Oct. 10 at Knollwood Park Cemetery, Queens, New York.

Mary E. Walden

Mary E. Walden, 63, of South Riding, died Oct. 5 at Fairfax Hospital.

She was born Jan. 26, 1941 in New Mexico to the late Ira and Gertrude Bassett.

She is survived by husband, William J. Walden of South Riding; children Michael K. Walden of Indianapolis and daughter Jennifer L. Throneburg of Bristow, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and a brother, Ira J. Bassett of Silver City, New Mexico.

Services were held Oct. 13 at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, with Interment Service at Quantico National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 124 Park Street SE, P.O. Box 699, Vienna, Va., 22183-0699.
