Vera C. Loeffler 82 years
Vera C. Loeffler, 82, of Colonial Beach died Saturday, July 1, at Mary Washington Hospital at a long illness.
Born in Washington, D. C., Mrs. Loeffler had retired in 1985 from the Naval Space Surveillance System, at Dahlgren, after 32 years.
She was member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Colonial Beach.
Survivors include her husband, John T. Loeffler; two daughters, Madeline L. Rose and Edna L. Jenkins, both of Colonial Beach; two sons, John V. Loeffler of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Clinton F. Loeffler, of Colonial Beach; one sister, Helen Torbett, of South Carolina; two brothers, Joseph Colliflower, of Florida and George Colliflower of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was said Monday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Burial is in Historyland Memorial Park in King George. Father Vincent Bork officiated at the ceremonies.
Nash & Slaw handled the arrangements.
The family requests that expression of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Box 275, Colonial Beach, Va, 22443, or the Colonial Bach Rescue Squad, 225 Dennison St., Colonial Beach, Va. 22443.

William A. Dickson 96
William A. "Bill" Dickson, 96, of Topeka, Kan., father of Dorothy Lou Sloop of King George County, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in a Topeka nursing home.
Mr. Dickson was a farmer and owned and operated a grocery store in Scranton, Kan., for several years. He was a life member of Dover Lodge 138, A.F.&A.M. at Dover, Kan.
Besides his daughter of King George, survivors include two other daughters; two sons; a sister; 19 grandchildren 28 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-grandson.
A funeral was held Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at Auburn United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Auburn Cemetery.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Carey Funeral Home in Burligame, Kan., handled the arrangements.

Blodwen Hynson 83
Blodwen "Nan" Hynson, 83, of Colonial Beach died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Wales, Great Britain, Mrs. Hynson was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Woman's Auxiliary, both in Colonial Beach. She had been a member of the Colonial Beach Ladies Bowling League and was the widow of Arthur Hynson.
She is sirvived by two grandchildren; David Morgans Jr. and Cindy Aclan, both of Colonial Beach; five great-grandchildren and her daughter-in-law and caregiver, Nancy E. Morgans of Colonial Beach, with whom Mrs. Hynson made her home for 2 years. She was the mother of he late David Morgans.
A funeral was held Friday, Oct. 27, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach. Earl Combs officiated abd burial was in Popes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Baynesville,
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Colonial Beach Rescue Squade, 225 Dennison St., Colonial Beach, Va. 22443, or to the Colonial Beach Fire Department, Box 212, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443.

Flora Mae Scales 79
Flora Mae Scales, 79, of King George County died at her home Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000.
Born in South Carloina, Mrs. Scales had worked as a private-duty nurse and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in King George. She was the widow of James Walker Scales.
Mrs. Scales is survived by two caregivers, Idella Lawson of South Carolina and Alice F. Lockett of Alexandria.
A funeral was held Saturday, Oct. 28, at Salem Baptist Church. The Rev. Leonard Bland officiated and burial was at in Historyland Memorial Park, King George.
Lee Funeral Home, King George, handled the arrangements.

Jack S. Weedon 69
Jack S. Weedon, 69, of Leesburg, a native of King George County, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Weedon had retired from the Department of the Air Force. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Janet M. Weedon; two daughters, Partricia Ann Cook of Manassas and Brenda L. Stabler of Highland Ranch, Colo.; a son, Jack S. Weedon Jr. of Ashburn, a sister, Hazel Burgess of Dahlgren; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral was held Wednesday, at Colonial Funeral Home, Leesburg. The Rev. Steven G.S. Costello officiated and burial was in Union Cemetery, Leesburg.

George M. Dingee 88
George M. Dingee,88, of Virginia Beach died at his home Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000. He was formerly of Placid Bay Estates, Colonial Beach.
Born in Andaluis, Pa. and raised in Oakland, Calif., he was a former resident of Arlington and had retired to the Colonial Beach area. He was the widower of Loraine S. Dingee.
Mr. Dingee was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater. His military awards include the Pacific Theater and American Theater ribbons, the Victory Medal and the Navy Unit Citation. He retired from the Department of Defense after 30 years, and was presented a superior performance award.
He was a member of the American Legion, The Placid Bay Association and numerous other civic organiztions.
Survivors include three daughters, Lyndall Anne Demere of Big Sur, Calif., Elizabeth Dale Westberry of Cottontown, Tenn. and Renee Dingee Miles of Virginia Beach; a sister, Jan Jandebeur of Walnut Creek, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A mass of Chirstian burial was held Friday, Oct. 27, at Church of the Holy Family in Virginia Beach.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church cemetery in King George. The Rev. John Melmer officiated.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Church of the Holy Family, 1279 North Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23451; or to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad, Box 945, Virginia Beach, Va. 23451.

Lynwood W. "Fox" Jackson 93
Lynwood W. "Fox' Jackson, 93, of Rollins Fork in Westmoreland County died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at Mary Washington Health Center in Colonial Beach.
Born in Westmoreland, Mr. Jackson had retired as a bus driver for the King George County school system. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church at Rollins Fork.
Survivors include a brother, James M. Jackson of Ranson, W.Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, with the Rev. Karen B. Petersen officiating. Burial will be in Historyland Memorial Park in King George.

Donald Wayne Tucker 67
Donald Wayne Tucker, 67, of Colonial Beach died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Washington, Mr. Turcker owned Tucker Printing in Alexandria from 1962 until 1978.
He retired from The Corporate Press in 1995.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose No. 1267 in Colonial Beach, the Colonial Beach Neighborhood Watch and the George Washington High School alumni association.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy L. Tucker of Colonial Beach; two daughters, Connie Kennedy of Ruther Glen and Denise Petree of Richmond; a son, David W. Tucker of Alexandria; a sister, Doris Hensley of Spotsylvania County; and two grandchildren.
Nash & Slaw Funeral Home in Colonial Beach handled the arrangements.Scattering of ashes was private.

Anita Jones 71
Anita F. Jones, 71, of King George County died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at Mary Washington Health Center at Colonial Beach.
Born in Washington, Mrs. Jones had worked at Dutch's Mart in King George. She was the widow of Edward W. Jones
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Lynn Epperson of King George and Helen Snedeker of Brazil, Ind.; a son, E. Wesley Jones Jr. of Coloinal Beach; a brother, John Stewart; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her longtime companion, J. Herman Spillman of the home. She was also the mother of the late Anita Marie Eubank.
A funeral was held Friday, Oct. 20, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George. The Rev. Kenneth Brooks officiated and burial was at Round Hill Baptist Church cemtery in King George.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Dahlgren Rescue Squad, Box 1375, Dahlgren, Va. 22448.

Donald Van Derveer 67
Donald Wesley Van Derveer, 67, of Dahlgren in King George County died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Wolcott, N.Y., Mr. Van Derveer was raised in Marcellus, N.Y. He had been a school bus driver in various public school systems, include Westmoreland County. He was a member of Dahlgren United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 89 in King George and the Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department, and was an honorary member of Sennett Fire Department in Auburn, N.Y. He was also an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Van Derveer; a daughter, Shiela Van Derveer of Massachusetts; a son, Roy Van Derveer of Dahlgren; two sisters, Betty Flint and Carol Flint, both of Wolcott, N.Y.
A graveside service was held Monday, Oct. 23, at Quantico National Cemetery, with military honors. The Rev. Keith Mottley officiated.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Dahlgren United Methodist Church Outreach Program, Box 1797, Dahlgren, Va. 22448; or to Sebbett Fire Department, Auburn, N.Y. 13021.
