Ida C. Peed 94 years
Ida C. Peed, 94, of Foneswood in Westmoreland County died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at Warsaw Health Care Center. The widow of Clarence Everett Peed, Mrs. Peed was a member of Ephesus Christian Church where she served as a deacon and organist. She helped institute the annual church bazaar and was the major fund-raiser for the church organ fund. Survivors include a son, Clarence E. Peed Jr. of Palmyra; two sisters, Jeanette Gouldman and Kathleen Smith, both of Montross; two grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. A funeral was held Thursday at Ephesus Christian Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Ephesus Christian Church, Foneswood, Va. 22572. Welch Funeral Home, Montross, handled the arrangements.

Eric Michael Olson 30 years
Eric Michael Olson, 30, of King George County died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at his home. Born in Fredericksburg, Mr. Olson had resided in King George for the past five years. He was formerly of Stafford County and Colonial Beach. He worked as a millwright with Giant Foods in Landover, Md., and was a member of Millwright Union 1568. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Ann Olson; two daughters, Kristina Nicole Payne and Julia Katherine Michelle Olson, both of the home; a son, Michael Douglas Olson of the home; his mother, Debra Dedman of Stafford; his father and stepmother, Jim and Sharon Olson of Colonial Beach; a sister, Christine Anne Olson of Stafford; two stepbrothers, David Dedman and Matthew Dedman, both of Stafford; his paternal grandmother, Betty Olson of King George; and his maternal grandmother, Wilda Stone of Stafford. A graveside service was held Friday in Aquia Episcopal Church cemetery in Stafford. The Rev. Jack Reedy officiated. Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, handled the arrangements.

Eric Michael Olson, 30, of King George County died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at his home. Born in Fredericksburg, Mr. Olson had resided in King George for the past five years. Ruth France Mothershead 87 years
Ruth France Mothershead, 87, of Montross died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at Riverside Tappahannock Hospital. Born at Newland, she was a member of Ephesus Christian Church at Foneswood. She was the widow of Ira Stuart Mothershead. Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie M. Schwarting of Albuquerque, N.M., and Paige M. Baker of Colonial Beach; a son, Robert F. Mothershead of Montross; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Saturday at Ephesus Christian Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Joan Daniels officiated. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Ephesus Christian Church Memorial Trust Fund, Box 1027, Montross, Va. 22520. Welch Funeral Home, Montross, handled the arrangements.

Margaret L. McAnelly 80 years
Margaret L. McAnelly, 80, of Fredericksburg died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at Woodmont Center. She was the mother of James Selph and Frank Selph, both of King George County. Born in Richmond, Mrs. McAnelly was a member of Fredericksburg Church of Christ. In addition to her sons of King George, she is survived by her husband, Loren McAnelly; two daughters, Edith Johnson of Kentucky and Cordie Weeks of Spotsylvania County; two other sons, Clarence Selph of Fairfax and William Selph of Westmoreland County; a sister, Virginia Taylor of Chesterfield; a brother, John H. Fore of Richmond; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. A funeral was held last Monday at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Minister Bill Bates officiating. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Fredericksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, Box 444, Fredericksburg, Va. 22404.

Robert N. Buckner 62 years
Robert N. Buckner, 62, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond. Born in King George County, Mr. Buckner was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in King George and was an Army veteran, having served as a military policeman. Survivors include his wife, Adelaide Buckner; six daughters, Kimberly G. Hopkins of Richmond, Jamelle Wilson of Ashland, Aszure DeeColes of Fredericksburg, Desiree Lesette Hardwick of Palm Bay, Fla., Sandra Johnson of Denver, Colo., and Catherine Pitts of Arvado, Colo.; a sister, Rose Mae Lyons of Washington; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a niece. A funeral was held Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Larry Finch officiated. Lee Funeral Home, King George, handled the arrangements.

Katherine Berryman 73 years
Katherine Berryman, 73, of Stafford County died at her home Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001. She was the mother of Avis Berryman of King George County. A native and lifelong resident of Stafford, Mrs. Berryman was the widow of Conway Berryman. In addition to her daughter of King George, she is survived by six other daughters, Myra Berryman, Pamela Taylor, Wanda Berryman and Michelle Payne, all of Stafford, Deborah Payne of Manassas and Lisha Whitfield of Goldsboro, N.C.; three sons, Wayne Berryman of Stafford, Maurice Berryman of Front Royal and Keith Berryman of Gainesville; a sister, Luvenia Evans of Stafford; 39 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Saturday at Shiloh (Old Site) Baptist Church, Garrisonville. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. James Jackson officiated. Bailey Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, handled the arrangements.

Kenneth P. "Ken" Walls 64 years
Kenneth P. "Ken" Walls, 64, of King George County died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., Mr. Walls is survived by a daughter, Lynda Thomson of King George; a son, Gregg K. Walls of Greenville, S.C.; a brother, Douglas C. Walls of Syracuse, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. A private committal of ashes will be held at a later date. Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, is handling the arrangements.

Irene Virginia Habron "Renee" Sutphin 72 years
Irene Virginia Habron "Renee" Sutphin, 72, of Stafford County died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Heritage Hall Health Care. She was the mother of Bobbi Joshylen and Penny Gayle, both of King George County. Born in Caroline County, Mrs. Sutphin enjoyed arts and crafts. In addition to her daughters of King George, she is survived by her husband, Coy Sutphin; four sons, Sam Roberson of Charlottesville, Rick Roberson and Randy Roberson, both of Spotsylvania County, and John Roberson of Fayetteville, N.C.; three sisters, Nancy Ellis of North Carolina, Myrtle Daughtery of Kissimmee, Fla., and Barbara White of Spotsylvania; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held Thursday at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The Rev. William E. Jeffcoat officiated. Burial was private. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice Support Care, 2119 Lafayette Blvd., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.

Dara Lynn Simpson 43 years
Dara Lynn Simpson, 43, of Spotsylvania County died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was the mother of Holly Winstead of King George County. Other survivors include her husband, Phillip Simpson; two other daughters, Samantha M. Simpson and Grace E. Simpson, both of the home; a son, Garrett S. Simpson of the home; her mother, Vonda D. Charlton of Alexandria; two brothers, Eric Charlton and Davin Charlton, both of Alexandria; and one granddaughter. A graveside service was held Thursday in Ivy Hill Cemetery in Alexandria, where Mrs. Simpson was born. The Rev. Jim Morgams officiated. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 2807 N. Parham Road, Suite 304, Richmond, Va. 23294. Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, handled the arrangements.

Mary Byrne Donahue 94 years
Mary Byrne Donahue, 94, of King George County died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Hughes Home in Fredericksburg, after an extended illness. Born in Lewis County, W.Va., she was the widow of Bernard Plunkett, Hayward Ellyson and John Donahue. Mrs. Donahue had retired as a school teacher after 38 years. She had walked, rode horseback and traveled by boat to some of the one-room schools at which she taught in West Virginia. She taught the last three years of her career in Virginia. Her family had owned and operated the Copley Road Store in Weston, W.Va., for over 100 years. She attended St. Anthony Catholic Church in King George, where she was a member of the Legion of Mary and the Women's Bible Study. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Helen Marshall of King George; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two nieces. A Mass of Christian burial took place Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Weston. Boyle Funeral Home, Weston, handled the arrangements.

Carol Lynn Ziegenfuss 38 years
Carol Lynn Ziegenfuss, 38, of Quantico died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at Potomac Hospital from complications of muscular dystrophy. She was the sister of Brenda Zell of Montross and Steve Sivak of Colonial Beach. Born in Fairfax, Ms. Ziegenfuss was a driver for Reese Trucking. She attended Christ Chapel in Woodbridge and Hosanna Fellowship in Stafford County. In addition to her sister of Montross and brother of Colonial Beach, she is survived by two sons, Wesley A. Sivak of Fort Knox, Ky. and Daniel A. Sivak of Quantico; her mother, Ester Sivak of Spotsylvania County; her father and stepmother, Paul J. and Helen Sivak of Hartwood; another sister, Diane Baiers of Las Vegas; and another brother, Joey Sivak of Guam. A funeral was held Thursday at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. Burial was in Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria. The Rev. Theresa Ramsey officiated.

Theresa Larkin Wilkins 45 years
Theresa Larkin Wilkins, 45, of Montross died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond from complications of surgery performed last month. Mrs. Wilkins was a teacher at The Fun Factory, a preschool in Montross, and was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Tappahannock. She moved to the Montross area 19 years ago, and taught elementary school in the Westmoreland County School system. She then worked with the Head Start program, at the Westmoreland Extension office, and was a parole officer at the Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw. Survivors include her husband, James Bryon Wilkins; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Wilkins and Rebekah Kathleen Wilkins, both of the home; her parents, Lawrence and Kathleen Larkin of Chevy Chase, Md.; two sisters, Maureen Guillot of Manassas and Kathy Ann Reidy of Springfield, Mass.; four brothers, Larry Larkin of Chatham, N.J., Michael Larkin of Chevy Chase, Thomas Larkin of Springfield, Ore., and Charles Larkin of San Francisco, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral was held Saturday at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Colonial Beach. Burial was in Currioman Baptist Church Cemetery, Zacata. The Rev. Michael Kelly officiated. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Westmoreland Volunteer Fire Department, Box 222, Montross, Va. 22520; or to Montross Volunteer Rescue Squad, Box 1174, Montross, Va. 22520. Arthur Lawrence "Little Larry" Wilder Jr. 17 years
Arthur Lawrence "Little Larry" Wilder Jr., 17-year-old son of Larry and Tammy Wilder of Colonial Beach died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, on State Route 628 in Westmoreland County as the result of an automobile accident. Born in Fredericksburg, he was a student at Washington & Lee High School, where he was in the second year of vocational technology. He was a member of Colonial Beach Baptist Church and was an avid drag strip racer and fisherman. Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, April Laine Wilder of the home; his maternal grandmother, Peggy Hall of Colonial Beach; and his paternal grandmother, Frances Wilder of Hertford, N.C. A funeral was held Monday at Colonial Beach Baptist Church. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery at Oak Grove. The Rev. Johnny Almond officiated. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Colonial Beach Rescue Squad, 225 Dennison St., Colonial Beach, Va. 22443; to Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department, Box 212, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443; or to Colonial Beach Baptist Church, Box 27, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443.
