Marjorie R. Rollins 90 years
Marjorie R. Rollins, 90, of King George County died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. Born in Buffalo, S.D., Mrs. Rollins was the widow of William "Ned" Rollins. Survivors include a son, Phillip J. Rollins of King George; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was also the mother of the late O. Dale Rollins. A private funeral was held. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Dahlgren Rescue Squad, Box 1375, Dahlgren, Va. 22448. Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, handled the arrangements.

Willard "Sonny" Limerick 59 years
Willard "Sonny" Limerick, 59, of King George County died of cancer Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Terry Limerick; a daughter, Angela Burnell of Spotsylvania County; a son, Jesse Limerick of the home; his mother, Annie Limerick of Fredericksburg; four sisters, Vivian Morin of Maine, Jean Limerick and Judith Moore, both of Fredericksburg, and Donna Limerick of Dumfries; two brothers, Jerry Limerick of Fredericksburg and Paul Limerick of Spotsylvania; and two grandchildren. A memorial service was held Saturday at Found & Sons Funeral Chapels, Fredericksburg. Maj. Edward Pierce officiated. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Va. 23060.

John E. "Johnnie" Dakon 67 years
John E. "Johnnie" Dakon, 67, of Colonial Beach died at his home Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001. Born in West Virginia, Mr. Dakon had retired from civil service. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge in Colonial Beach, and was an accomplished musician on the guitar. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Clemons of McDonough, Ga.; four sons, John E. Dakon Jr., William S. Dakon and Gary E. Dakon, all of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Kris A. Dakon of High Falls, Ga.; a sister, June Runaldue of Manassas; a brother, George Dakon of Midland; and three grandchildren. A graveside service was held Friday in Quantico National Cemetery. The Rev. Louis Martin officiated. Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, handled the arrangements.

Frazier Cecil Beavers 80 years
Frazier Cecil Beavers, 80, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. Mr. Beavers is survived by Rik Lawhorne of King George County, whom he raised. Mr. Beavers was employed in the Pocahontas Coal Mines and was a World War II Army veteran. He enjoyed fishing and selling items at flea markets. Other survivers include include his companion, Trinette Duncan of Spotsylvania County, and her daughter whom Mr. Beavers raised, Melanie Waltz of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Janeth M. Beall of Belcamp, Md., and Wanda Grammer of Fredericksburg; two sons, Larry Beavers of Edgewood, Md., and Dennis Beavers of Blacksburg; three sisters; seven brothers; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held last Wednesday in Quantico National Cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Lung Association, 9735 Main St., Fairfax, Va. 22031. Found & Sons Funeral Chapels, Fredericksburg, handled the arrangements.

Sallie Dosher Veazey 101 years
Sallie Dosher Veazey, 101, of King George County died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at The Smith Home, a private home in King George. Born and raised in Southport, N.C., Mrs. Veazey was formerly of Wilmington, N.C. She was valedictorian of her 1918 class at Southport High School, and attended Meredith College. She had retired from Atlantic Coastline Railroad after 30 years. She was a member of Cape Fear Garden Club and Trinity United Methodist Church in Wilmington. She was the widow of Sidney H. Veazey. Survivors include a son, S.E. "Ed" Veazey of King George; four grandchildren; and five great-grandsons. A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Wilmington. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery in Southport. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1403 Market St., Wilmington, N.C. 28401. Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, is handling local arrangements.

Linda Marie Hitchcock 20 years
Linda Marie Hitchcock, 20, of Clear Brook in Frederick County died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident in Giles County. She was the sister of Justin Owens and Jesse Owens, both of King George County. Ms. Hitchcock, born in Junction City, Kan., attended Lord Fairfax Community College and was a member of Mountain View Church of Christ in Winchester. In addition to her brothers of King George, Ms. Hitchcock is survived by her parents, Lonnie R. Hitchcock and Victoria Henry Hitchcock, both of Clear Brook; two sisters; two other brothers; her grandparents, Jerry and Olivia Parker of Stafford County; and her maternal grandmother. A funeral was held Saturday at Mountain View Church of Christ. Burial was in Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester. Omps Funeral Home, Winchester, handled the arrangements.

Earl Goerke Germond 83 years
Earl Goerke Germond, 83, of Newtown Square, Pa., died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001. He was the father of Frederick E. Germond of King George County. Mr. Germond had retired as a mechanical engineer. He was active with Boy Scouts and in his church. In addition to his son of King George, Mr. Germond is survived by his wife, Virginia Huddle Germond; two daughters; a sister; a brother; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral was held today at The Presbyterian Church of Kennett Square. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to The Presbyterian Church of Kennett Square, Box 36, Kennett Square, Pa. 19348, or to the American Cancer Society, 428 Exton Commons, Exton, Pa. 19341. Kuzo and Gofus Funeral Home of Kennett Square handled the arrangements.

Wirt W. Trigger 71 years
Wirt W. Trigger, 71, of Colonial Beach died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond. Born in Fredericksburg, Mr. Trigger was a lifelong resident of the Rollins Fork area. He had retired as a farmer and postal employee at Colonial Beach. He had also been a commercial fisherman and building contractor. His memberships included Grace United Methodist Church at Rollins Fork and the Moose Lodge at Colonial Beach. Survivors include his wife, Donna S. Trigger; two daughters, Mary Catherine Hughes of King George and Eunice Melinda Saunders of Westmoreland County; four sons, Wirt Watson Trigger Jr. and Douglas Tyler Trigger, both of Westmoreland, Thomas William Trigger of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and Charles Willoughby Trigger of Fredericksburg; his mother, Katie Mae Trigger of Westmoreland; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Trigger family cemetery at Rollins Fork. The Rev. Karen Peterson officiated. Charles Edward Syrkes 42 years
Charles Edward Syrkes, 42, of Woodford in Caroline County died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond. He was the brother of Juanita Minor of King George County. Born in Mineral, Mr. Syrkes worked as a laborer for Henderson Construction Co. He was a member of St. John's Baptist Church. In addition to his sister of King George, Mr. Syrkes is survived by a daughter, Kiersten Rowe of Culpeper County; a son, Anthony Rowe of Culpeper; his parents, Pearl J. Minor of Woodford and Randolph Talley of Spotsylvania County; five other sisters, Gloria Corbett and Virginia Minor, both of Fredericksburg, Charlotte Minor of New York and Geneva Davidson and Dora Minor, both of Spotsylvania; two brothers, Raymond Syrkes of Woodbridge and Tony Minor of Woodford; and one grandchild. A funeral was held Saturday at St. John's Baptist Church in Mineral. Burial was in the church cemetery. A.D. Price Funeral Home, Richmond, handled the arrangements.

Betty P. McNutt 68 years
Betty P. McNutt, 68, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at her home. She was the mother of Cyndi Newton of King George County. Mrs. McNutt, who had retired from Earl's Food Market in Stafford County, was a member of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church for 40 years. In addition to her daughter of King George, Mrs. McNutt is survived by her husband, Arthur G. McNutt; another daughter, Peggy Labbe of Fredericksburg; and a grandson. A funeral was held Tuesday at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Barbara Jacobs officiated. Frederick E. Jenkins Jr. 51 years
Frederick E. Jenkins Jr., 51, of King George County died at his home Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, after a long illness. Born in Westmoreland County, Mr. Jenkins had retired as a mechanic from Foster Tire Co. in Fredericksburg. He attended Shiloh Baptist Church in King George. Survivors include a sister, Sheri K. Dodson of Stafford County; a brother, Raymond A. Jenkins of Reva; a niece and two nephews. A funeral was held Friday at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George. Burial was in Historyland Memorial Park in King George. The Rev. Sherman Davis officiated.

James E. Halliburton 61 years
James E. Halliburton, 61, of Dahlgren in King George County died Nov. 8, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital after a long illness. Born in Halls, Tenn., Mr. Halliburton was a Navy veteran. He was a former manager of the COMO Club at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, and had retired as a materials handler from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head, Md., Division. Survivors include his wife, Savannah "Bessie" Halliburton; two stepdaughters, Bertina Lewis of Dahlgren and Theresa Rossi of Norfolk; six sons, James Elliot Dukes of St. Louis, Mo., Phillip Halliburton of San Antonio, Texas, James Eric Halliburton of Kansas City, Mo., Bryan Halliburton of Suitland, Md., Marco Halliburton of Dahlgren and James Alan Halliburton of Vicenza, Italy; a stepson, Corey D. Lewis of Dahlgren; a brother, Steve Jones of Swanton, Ohio; and three grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Cedell Brooks Funeral Home, Port Royal. The Rev. Ben Jones will officiate. The body may be viewed one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Elizabeth S. England 82 years
Elizabeth S. England, 82, of Suitland, Md., formerly of Chiltons in Westmoreland County, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at the home of her caregiver. Born in Westmoreland County, Mrs. England had retired as a beautician at Wilhelm Funeral Home, Suitland, Md. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church at Chiltons and the Order of Eastern Star. She was the widow of Stuart Wilson England. Survivors include three sisters, Clara Marmaduke of Montross, Mary Clark of Annandale and Ellen Balko of Suitland. She was the mother of the late Randolph Wilson "Randy" England. A funeral was held Saturday at Providence United Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Lois Phemister officiated. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Providence United Methodist Church, Box 615, Montross, Va. 22520. Welch Funeral Home, Montross, handled the arrangements.

Alice Beach Coakley 86 years
Alice Beach Coakley, 86, of King George County died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. Born and raised in Stafford County, Mrs. Coakley was a graduate of College Heights High School in Fredericksburg. The former school, located behind Mary Washington College, served Spotsylvania County and Stafford students until the two counties opened their own high schools. She worked at the Sylvania plant until her marriage in 1940 and was a member of Fredericksburg Baptist Church. She enjoyed raising flowers. Survivors include her husband, Carl A. Coakley; two sons, Gary V. Coakley of Newport News and Carl A. Coakley Jr. of King George; two sisters, Eva B. Stone of Stafford and Mary B. Harrell of Spotsylvania; one granddaughter; three nieces and one nephew. A graveside service was held Thursday in Potomac Baptist Church Cemetery, King George. The Rev. William Jeffcoat officiated. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Dahlgren Rescue Squad, Box 1375, Dahlgren, Va. 22448. Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, handled the arrangements.
