Leif Arthur Berglund 72
Leif Arthur Berglund, 72, of Waldorf, Md., formerly of King George County, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington.
Born in Ketchikan, Alaska, Mr. Berglund was raised in Olso, Norway, and returned to the United States in the late 1940s. He was also a former resident of Churchton, Md.
He had retired in 1971 from the Air Force after 20 years, and was the widower of Ruth M. Berglund.
Survivors include two daughters, Lise M. Berglund-Cool of Waldorf, Md., and Ingrid M. Berglund-Melling of Ellijay, Ga.; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held in Arlington National Cemetery.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to a favorite humane society.

Lori J. Tremper 41
Lori J. Tremper, 41, of Dahlgren died of cancer Sunday, May 26, 2002, at her home.
Born in Niles, Mich., Mrs. Tremper was a graduate of Pensacola Junior College in Pensacola, Fla., where she earned a degree in nursing. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in King George County, and worked for Colonial Beach schools as a registered nurse. She enjoyed making crafts.
Survivors include her husband, William D. Tremper III; a daughter, Amy Lynn Tremper of the home; a son, William Donald Tremper of the home; her parents, Donald and Dorothy Maynard of Saint Joseph, Mich.; a sister, Shelly Carney of Dahlgren; and a brother, Donald Maynard of Bridgeman, Mich.
A funeral was held today at St. John's Episcopal Church. Burial was in Historyland Memorial Park in King George. The Rev. Deborah J. Newcomb officiated.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, c/o Lavernia Reed, 296 Federal Farm Road, Montross, Va. 22520.

Helen Faye Stokes 48
Helen Faye Stokes, 48, of Montross died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at her home, after a long illness.
Mrs. Stokes is survived by her husband James L. Stokes; her daughter, Crystal D. Taylor of Montross; a son, Shawn W. Taylor of Montross; a sister, Cathy Ethridge of Richmond; two brothers, Earl Woodring Jr. of Richmond and Billy Woodring of Fredericksburg; her parents, Earl and Edith Woodring, of Montross; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Saturday, May 25, at Welch Funeral Home in Montross. Burial was in the Currioman Baptist Church Cemetery in Westmoreland County. The Rev. Curtis Hawks officiated.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Helen Stokes Fund, Northern Neck State Bank, Box 188, Montross, Va. 22520.

Laura Jean Frenzley 61
Laura Jean Frenzley, 61, of King George County died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond.
Mrs. Frenzley, a domestic worker, was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in King George.
Survivors include her husband, George L. Frenzley; a daughter, Doris M. Frenzley of Spotsylvania County; four sons, Lionel W.J. Frenzley and George L. Frenzley Jr., both of King George, Calvin G. Frenzley and Rayfield E. Frenzley, both of Fredericksburg; three sisters, Joan E. Brown of Maryland, Mildred Scranage of Washington, D.C., and Mary Stepney of Dahlgren; three brothers, Bernard Scranage, John T. Scranage and Louis Scranage, all of King George; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Friday, May 24, at Lee Funeral Home in King George. Burial was in the Frenzley family cemetery in King George. The Rev. Emmett Gray officiated.

Leslie Heslop Brickner 37
Leslie Heslop Brickner, 37, of Fort Washington, Md., died unexpectedly Thursday, May 23, 2002, at Southern Maryland Hospital. She was the mother of Gabrielle Brickner, the sister of Sherry Dazy and daughter of Charles and Maureen Buhler, all of Colonial Beach
Mrs. Brickner was a former employee of the FBI.
Besides her daughter, sister and parents of Colonial Beach, Mrs. Brickner is survived by a son, Cameron Harris of Fort Washington, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Colonial Beach. Committal of ashes will be in Historyland Memorial Park in King George County. The Rev. Ron Okrasinski will officiate.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Box 420, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443.

Marion Bohrer 72
Marion Bohrer, 72, of Colonial Beach died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Bohrer, a retired receptionist from Sleepy Hollow Manor Nursing Home, was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Survivors include her husband, Paul E. Bohrer of the home; a daughter, Sherri Williges of Manassas; three sisters, Dolly Huntington of Glebe Harbour, Judy Cobb of Colonial Beach, and Pat Castro of Georgia; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. Burial will be in National Memorial Park. The Bishop Richard Mihok will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Audrey Hollis "Porn" Stidham 84 years
Audrey Hollis "Porn" Stidham, 84, of King George County died Monday, April 29, 2002, at Heritage Hall Health Care. Born in Oneida, N.Y., Mrs. Stidham had been employed as an assembly worker with Boeing Aircraft. Her hobbies included knitting, reading and watching birds feed. Survivors include her husband, Claude Stidham of King George; two daughters, Diana Seybold of Port Orange, Fla., and Hollis J. "Kitty" Diamond of Woodford; five sons, Mitchell R. Smith of Phoenix, N.Y., Gary J. Smith of Forestport, N.Y., William Porn of Washington state, Bruce Porn of Florida and Robert Porn of Sumner, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at a later date. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Mary Washington Hospice, 2300 Fall Hill Ave., Suite 210, Fredericksburg, Va. 22401; to the Bowling Green Rescue Squad, Box 621, Bowling Green, Va. 22427; or to the Upper Caroline Fire Department, 9344 Stonewall Jackson Drive, Woodford, Va. 22580. Barbara Jean Paciorek 66 years
Barbara Jean Paciorek, 66, of Fredericksburg died at her home Wednesday, May 1, 2002. She was the sister of Brenda Peyton of King George County. A Fredericksburg native, Mrs. Paciorek worked in sales at CVS Pharmacy. She was the widow of Edward Paciorek. In addition to her sister of King George, Mrs. Paciorek is survived by a son, James Smith of Fredericksburg; four other sisters, Irene Dillon of Sumter, S.C., Violet Jenks of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Dorothy Hall of Fredericksburg, and Lois Gilmer of Gaithersburg, Md.; a brother, Wilbur Howdershelt of Clifton Forge; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral was held Monday, May 6, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. Burial was in Quantico National Cemetery. The Rev. R. Kenneth Brooks officiated.

Lucy Ashton Lyddane 82 years
Lucy Ashton Lyddane, 82, of West Chester, Pa., a native and former longtime resident of King George County, died Saturday, April 27, 2002, in West Chester. Mrs. Lyddane was the widow of Russell Hancock Lyddane and a former member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in King George. She was an artist and enjoyed traveling in North America and Europe. She had been active in church affairs all her life. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Agnew of King George; three sons, Charles R.A. Lyddane of Malvern, Pa., David S. Lyddane of Newtown Square, Pa., and John L. A. Lyddane of Greenwich, Conn.; two brothers, Horace V. Ashton of King George and Daingerfield L. Ashton of Spartanburg, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Saturday, May 4, at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Exton, Pa. Burial was in St. Paul's Church cemetery in King George. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Church of the Holy Sacraments Rector's Discretionary Fund, c/o the Rev. Timothy K. Bill Edward Hyder 51 years
Bill Edward Hyder, 51, of Hague died Monday, April 29, 2002, at Riverside Tappahannock Hospital, of an apparent heart attack. Born in Knoxville, Tenn., he studied at the University of Maryland and received a fire science degree. He served as a firefighter for Cabin John Fire Department, the Carderock Model Basin, was fire captain for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, was assistant fire chief for White Oak Naval Base and retired as fire chief for Fort A.P. Hill. Following his retirement, Mr. Hyder started a business, the Northern Neck Fire Safety Consultants. He was a Vietname War Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Ann Hyder; a daughter, Jocelyn Hyder of Hague; and a sister, Aneta Stevenson of Tappahannock. No funeral is planned. The body was cremated. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Association for the Preservation for Yeocomico Episcopal Church, c/o C. Mottram Sanford, Box 109, Hague, Va. 22469. Welch Funeral Home, Montross, handled arrangements.

Fannie Viola Fox 84 years
Fannie Viola Fox, 84, of Woodford in Caroline County died Friday, May 3, 2002, at Mary Washington Hospital. She was the sister of Naomi Minor of Colonial Beach. Mrs. Fox was a native of Louisa County. In addition to her sister of Colonial Beach, Mrs. Fox is survived by her husband, Willie S. Fox; two daughters, Elaine Deckard of Bowling Green and Cynthia Fauntleroy of Landover, Md.; three sons, Willie Thomas Fox of Woodford, Earl V. Fox of Spotsylvania County and Calvin Fox of Richmond; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Laurel Hill Baptist Church in Louisa. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Nathaniel Young will officiate. The remains may be viewed from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Bailey Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, and at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
