Donna Jo Sciascia 48
Donna Jo Sciascia, 48, of King George County died of cancer Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Osceda Regional Medical Center in Kissimmee, Fla.
Born in Greenville, Pa., on Sept. 28, 1954, she was a registered nurse with Mary Washington Home Health Care and Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg for 13 years, and was also manager of Andy's Gradall in King George.
She was a faith partner with television evangelists Kenneth Copeland, Jesse Duplantis, Ernest Angley, Benny Hinn and Reinhart Bonnke.
Survivors include her husband, Andrew Sciascia Jr; four sons, Andrew Sciascia III, Donald J. Sciascia, Joseph D. Sciascia and Matthew P. Sciascia; a daughter, Teresa A. Terra; five grandchildren, Dominic, Donna, Anne, Alexis and Joseph; her parents, Donald Joseph Perrotti and Virginia M. Perrotti; five sisters, Mary Shirk, Susan Bulmash, Karen Zimmerman, Dorothy Austin and Christine Houck; and a brother, Jim Perrotti.
She was preceded in death by her brother Paul Perrotti.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Feb. 16, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home in King George. Pastor Dennis Peacock officiated.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Andy Sciascia, Box 1119, King George, Va. 22485, for distribution to television faith partners.

Virginia Lee Cartier Rodrigues 72
Virginia Lee Cartier Rodrigues, 72, of King George County died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital.
She was a member of the AARP and was very active in the OPS Shop in King George. She was a volunteer for King's Academy Christian School.
Survivors include her husband, Lionel N. Rodrigues of the home; three sons, Leonard Paul Rodrigues and David D. Rodrigues, both of King George, and John Edward Rodrigues of Stafford County; one daughter, Diana Lynn Reamy of King George; two brothers, William Cartier of New Hampshire and James Hawes of Carlsbad, Calif.; two sisters, Leona McCurdy of Ravenna, Mich., and Barbara Cupp of Burlington, Vt.; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Cartier of Burlington, Vt.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be private in Quantico National Cemetery.
Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, is in charge of arrangements.

Donald V. Morie 72
Donald V. Morie, 72, of King George County died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond.
Born in Dandridge, Tenn., he had retired as a computer operator from the federal government. He was a member of the American Legion Post in King George and was a Korean War Army veteran.
Survivors include two sisters, Dortha R. Hutsell of Thornburg and Betty Jo Green of King George; a brother, Paul A. Morie of Williamsburg; and13 nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home in King George. Burial was Thursday in Quantico National Cemetery. The Rev. William Jeffcoat officiated.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dahlgren Rescue Squad, Box 1375, Dahlgren, Va. 22448.

Carrie S. Hicks 76
Carrie Selma Hicks, 76, of Fredericksburg, formerly of Maryville, Tenn., died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital. She was the mother of Linda Wood and and her husband Kenny Wood of King George County.
Born May 28, 1926, in Belle Glade, Fla., Mrs. Hicks was a homemaker, retired child-care worker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Maryville. Her husband, Thomas Isaac Hicks, whom she married in Hamilton County, Tenn., on May 25, 1947, as well as eight brothers and sisters, preceded her in death.
In addition to her daughter and son-in-law of King George, Mrs. Hicks is survived by another daughter, Carol Hicks Belk of Meridian, Miss.; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Anita Hicks of Hollywood, Md.; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill Hicks and Tracey Mykins of Rochester, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Paul Starnes, Patricia Culpepper, Jamie Norris, Thomas Adkins, Kimberly Gray, Mike Hicks, Bob Hicks, Kristen Norris, Andrea Fines, Jessica Wood and Barrett Fines; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Motes; and a sister, Betty Haviland.
A funeral was held Thursday, Feb. 13, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home in Maryville, Tenn. Interment was in Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa, Tenn. Dr. Guy D. Mattox officiated.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Edward H. George 58
Edward H. "Ed" George, 58, of Fredericksburg died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Beverly Health Care Center. He had retired from the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren after 35 years of service.
Mr. George was a member of the Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church in Weems. He was an avid NASCAR, Chevrolet and Harley-Davidson, and was a country music enthusiast.
Mr. George is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jane A. George; a sister, Donna G. Thompson of Richmond; a niece Elizabeth Tyler Thompson of Richmond; and two nephews, John R. "Jack" Thompson Jr. of Yorktown and J. Casey Armstrong III of Fredericksburg. He is also survived by his two very special "boys," Harley and Sporty.
A graveside service was held today at Oak Hill Cemetery. Dr. Robert W. Sizemore officiated.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Spotsylvania Volunteer Rescue Squad, Box 101, Spotsylvania, Va. 22553, or to Mary Washington Hospice, 2300 Fall Hill Ave., Suite 210, Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.

Melvin Trotter 93
Melvin Trotter, 93, of Colonial Beach died at his home Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003.
Born in Jackson County, Ga., Mr. Trotter had retired as a master sergeant in the Marine Corps after 20 years of service. He served with the 4th Marine Division during World War II in the Battle of Saipan, Iwo Jima and Tinian. He retired in 1968 as an ordnanceman from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division.
He was a longtime member of American Legion Post 148 in Colonial Beach and was the widower of Lucille J. Trotter.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and David Hooten of Fredericksburg; a son, James Melvin Trotter of Montross; two grandchildren, Tara Lane of Atlanta, Ga., and Rudy Lane and his wife, Taryn, of Fredericksburg; and two nieces, Tommie Moeser of Colonial Beach and Eunice Carden of Rossville, Ga.
A graveside service was held Monday, Feb. 10, in Quantico National Cemetery with military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, National Capitol Area, 29 Eisenhower Ave., Suite 419, Alexandria, Va. 22314.

Anne Helen Scates Settle, 86, of Warsaw died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003. She was a member of Nomini Baptist Church in Westmoreland County.
Mrs. Settle was the widow of James Ralph Scates and James Hall Settle.
She is survived by a son, Tyler Settle of Ashburn; two daughters, Patricia Ellen Scates Cadow of Fredericksburg and Jane Settle Stanley of Arlington; two brothers, Herman and Joseph Sobotka, both of Pennsylvania; a daughter-in-law, Maria Sabotka; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Thomas Sabotka.
A funeral was held Friday, Feb. 7, at Welch Funeral Home in Montross. Interment was in Nomini Baptist Church cemetery.

Henry Tom Rollins 68
Henry "Tom" Rollins Jr., 68, of Colonial Beach died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Warsaw Health Care Center.
Born in Alexandria, Mr. Rollins was a member of VFW Post 10574 and the Moose Lodge, both in Colonial Beach.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bert" Rollins; three daughters, Debbie Spalding of Clearwater, Fla., and Susan Wright and Dawn Inman, both of Colonial Beach; one sister, Joyce Payne of Redington Beach, Fla.; seven grandsons; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his loving companion, "Major." He was preceded in death by one brother, Sam Rollins.
A funeral was held Monday, Feb. 10, at Nash and Slaw Funeral Home. Burial was Tuesday, Feb. 11, in Quantico National Cemetery.
