Annette Nix Fairfax, 85, of Hague died Thursday, July 24, 2003.

Fannie Mae Coleman 71
Fannie Mae Coleman, 71, of Supply died Thursday, July 17, 2003, at the home of her daughter, Elsie Johnson, in Milford. She was the mother of Charlie Coleman of King George County.
She is also survived by three other daughters, Shirley Coleman and Earlene Richards, both of Caroline County, and Beverly Studivent of Colorado; six other sons, Harry and Randy Coleman, both of Essex County, and Roy, Lewis, Eddie and John Coleman, all of Caroline; 30 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six sisters, Gladys Johnson, Emma Childs and Addie Fortune, all of Caroline, Dorothy Coleman of Essex and Lola Henderson and Helen Morgan, both of New Jersey; and a brother, Walter Robinson of Caroline.
A funeral was held Monday, July 21, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Supply. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Cedell Brooks Funeral Home, Port Royal, handled arrangements.

Gregory Cole 51
Gregory Cole, 51, of Fredericksburg died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital after a long illness. He was the son of Emma Cole and father of Regina, Melissa and Katina Frye, all of King George County.
Mr. Cole was an auto salesman for Ultimate Pontiac, Buick, Isuzu of Fredericksburg and had over 32 years of auto sales experience in the Fredericksburg area.
In addition to his mother and daughters of King George, Mr. Cole is survived by his fiancee, Sally Hayden of Fredericksburg; another daughter Kimberly Cole of Fredericksburg; a son, Kevin Frye of Richmond; six grandchildren; three brothers, William Cole of Rappahannock Academy, Raymond Cole of Port Royal and Valee Coghill of Essex County; and his stepmother, Mary Cole of New York.
A funeral was held Monday, July 28, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Port Royal. Burial was in the Brown-Cole family cemetery in Stafford County. The Rev. James P. Frye officiated.

Martin Henry Campbell 76
Martin Henry Campbell, 76, of Kinsale died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Riverside Tappahannock Hospital.
He was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Kinsale, and was a Sunday school teacher at Yecomico Chapel at Sandy Point.
He was the son of the late Daniel and Mary Campbell and was the widower of Mary Lou Campbell.
Survivors include two sons, Reginald Campbell of San Diego and Clarence Campbell of Vancouver, Canada; two stepsons, Daniel Smith of Tappahannock and Salmon Smith of Neenah; two brothers, Robert L. Campbell and his wife, Henrietta Pinka, of Richmond, and Floyd K. Campbell and his wife, Neenan, of Hague; a special friend, Mary Wormley; a stepdaughter-in-law, Carrie Smith of Kinsale; two sisters-in-law, Clara Johnson and Pauline Campbell; and two grandchildren, Bianca and Michael.
A funeral was held Friday, July 25, at Zion Baptist Church.

Leslie F. Wilson Sr. 74
Leslie F. Wilson Sr., 74, of Sandy Point died Tuesday, July 8, 2003.
A funeral was held at Monday, July 14, at Zion Baptist Church in Kinsale. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pastor Donn Hall officiated.

Mary N. Price 70
Mary N. Price, 70, of Montross died Monday, July 7, 2003.
A funeral was held Saturday, July 12, at Galilee Baptist Church in Montross. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pastor Joseph Haden Sr. officiating.

Howard C. Philpot 76
Howard C. Philpot, 76, of Colonial Beach died Sunday, July 6, 2003.
A funeral was held Saturday, July 12, at Little Zion Baptist Church in Oak Grove. Pastor W.B. Scott officiated.

Alice Fern Smith Cooke 81
Alice Fern Smith Cooke, 81, of Woodford died Saturday, July 12, 2003, at Bowling Green Health Care Center.
She was a member of Riverside Christian Church in Beaverdam.
Survivors include her husband, Reves Mastin Cooke; three sons, Mastin Ray Cooke of Stafford, Gary Lee Cooke of Fredericksburg and Michael Larry Cooke of the home; two daughters, Sandra K. Freeman of Fredericksburg and Trudy C. Clift of King George; a brother, Lloyd H. Smith of Grand Island, Neb.; three sisters, Luella Williams of North Loup, Neb., Wilma Keown of Grand Island, Neb., and Phyllis Elshof of Longmont, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Covenant Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Newton officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Charles Freeman, Joe Clift Jr., Christopher Freeman, Jesse Clift, Michael Brown, Timothy Lehman, Joseph Rest Sr. and Robert Holcomb Jr.

Mary Ellen Carneal 73
Mary Ellen Carneal, 73, of Stafford County went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Woodmont Center, surrounded by her family. She was the sister of Patricia Hines of King George County.
Mrs. Carneal was a companion aide for 20 years. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge in Stafford and attended Sylvania Heights Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her sister of King George, Mrs. Carneal is survived by two daughters, Betty Ann Franks of Stafford and Mary Lee Brooks of Caroline County; a son, Frank Robert Vanover of New York; three other sisters, Barbara Park of Spotsylvania County, Irean Surles of Falmouth and Madalene Kulp of Orange County; four brothers, Joseph Kulp of Spotsylvania, James Kulp and John Kulp, both of Chancellor, and Robert Kulp of Michigan; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bryant Carneal.
The family received friends Monday, July 14, at Found & Sons Funeral Chapels in Fredericksburg. A funeral was held Tuesday, July 15, at the funeral home. Interment was in Quantico National Cemetery. Her grandson, Pastor Jason Brooks, officiated.

Thomas B. Savoy 20
Thomas B. Savoy, 20, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at his home in Dahlgren.
He was born in Clinton, Md., and was a 2001 graduate of King George High School.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Anthony and Loretta Savoy; one brother, Michael Savoy; two stepbrothers, Travis Smoot and Timothy Robinson; two stepsisters, Tiffany Robinson and Tanika Robinson; and his maternal grandmother, Mary V. Savoy.
A funeral will be held Thursday, July 10, at 10 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Port Royal. Burial will be in Quantico National Cemetery. The Rev. Larry Robinson will officiate.
Remains may be viewed until 8 p.m. today at Cedell Brooks Funeral Home in Port Royal, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Hazel Royer 64
Hazel Royer, 64, of King George County died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at her home.
Born in Wytheville, Mrs. Royer was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Charles William Royer; two sons, Charles W. Royer Jr. and G. Thomas Royer, both of King George; two brothers, William F. Lilly of Hernando, Fla., and Gene Lilly of Roanoke; and one grandson, Charles A. Royer of Spotsylvania County.
No funeral services will be held for Mrs. Royer.

Goldie Jett Clift 87
Goldie Jett Clift, 87, of Fredericksburg died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital. She was the mother of Roger Clift of King George County.
She was the widow of Sherman Clift and attended Mountain View Baptist Church.
In addition to her son of King George, she is survived by four other sons, Edwin Clift of Bangor, Maine, Raymond Clift of Spotsylvania County, Larry Clift of Stafford County and Michael Clift of Fredericksburg; three sisters, Alice Cowie of Fredericksburg, Beenie Watson of Stafford and Evelyn Putnam of Massachusetts; a sister-in-law, Lillian Dodd of Stafford; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Thursday, July 3, at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Willis A. Dempsey and the Rev. Jim Stone officiated.
Memorials may be made to the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad, Box 4101, Fredericksburg, Va. 22402.
