Earl E. Biermann 86 years
Earl E. Biermann, 86, of King George County died Saturday, June 26, 2004.
Born in St. Louis, Mo., he had retired from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, as a mechanical engineer. He was a former Eagle Scout and involved in Scouting. He was a World War II U.S. Navy Air Corps flight instructor, reaching the rank of lieutenant junior grade. He was a grape grower and winemaker.
He is survived by his wife, Olga S. Biermann; children Kathryn Biermann of Richmond, Paula Neumann of Eckert, Colo., and John Biermann of Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren Benjamin Sheplen of Pullman, Wash., Elizabeth Haynes of Irving, Texas, and Marc Biermann of Rochester.
Remains were cremated. Replacement joints were donated to the Anderson Clinic.

James Edward "Jimmy" Tolliver 86 years
James Edward "Jimmy" Tolliver Jr., 86, of King George County, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Tolliver leaves to mourn his loss a devoted wife, Mary I. Tolliver; five children, Jean Jackson, Gloria Fields and her husband, Eugene, Karen Grymes and her husband, Joseph, Elmer Tolliver and his wife, Brenda, and James A. Tolliver and his wife, Brenda; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral was held on Thursday, June 17, at St. Stevens Baptist Church. Everette Gray officiated and burial was in Historyland Memorial Park.
Lee Funeral Home, King George, is handling the arrangements.

Alfred F. Schneider 85 years
Alfred F. Schneider, 85, of King George County died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Heritage Hall Health Care in King George.
Mr. Schneider had retired as a security officer for the federal government. He was a World War II Army veteran with 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred V. Schneider; two daughters, Barbara L. Cumberland of Odenton, Md., and Thea Dec of Frederick, Md.; a sister, Thea Bruton, and a brother, Henry Schneider, both of California; a granddaughter, Stacey Cohan; and a great-granddaughter, Shira Studley.
A graveside service was held on Monday, June 21, in Historyland Memorial Park in King George, with the Rev. Richard Headley officiating.
The family received friends on Monday at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George.
Memorial donations may be made to Mary Washington Hospice, 2300 Fall Hill Ave., Suite 210, Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.

Virginia E. Nash 89 years
Virginia E. Nash, 89, of Montross, died Saturday, June 19, 2004. Mrs. Nash was the widow of Clyde A. Nash and a member of Popes Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving is a sister, Anne B. Flemer of Colonial Beach. Mrs. Nash was preceded in death by a sister, Lola B. Dove, and four brothers, Richard Thomas Butler, Warren S. Butler, Clyde M. Butler and Buford L. Butler. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephew and caregivers James and Richard Doves.
The family received friends on Sunday, June, 20, at Welch Funeral Home, Montross. Burial was private.
Memorial contributions may be made to Montross Rescue Squad, Box 1174, Montross, Va. 22572.

Robert A. "Bobby" Millar 52 years
Robert A. "Bobby" Millar, 52, of Colonial Beach, died Friday, June 18, 2004, at his home. He was a member of the Colonial Beach VFW Moose Lodge and Sports Fishermen Club and a former member of the U.S. Air Force. He was employed at the Aegis Training Center, Dahlgren, and was a real-estate agent at Century 21, Dahlgren.
Survivors include his wife Anne Millar; a sister Malinda Hancock of Lusby, Md., his stepmother; Barbara Millar of King George County; two stepsisters, Kelly Summerson of King George an Valerie Milen of Fayetteville, N.C.; two stepbrothers, Michael and Larry Morehouse of Richmond; an uncle, John Paul Millar of Port Tobacco, Md., a nephew, Robert Hancock of Lusby; and a very special niece, Cathy Attick of Huntingtown, Md.
A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, with the Rev. Gloria Ric officiating. Interment will be private at a later date.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the start of the service.

Tabitha Shaunte Lyons 23 years
Tabitha Shaunte Lyons, 23, of Newport News, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth.
Born in Fredericksburg on Feb. 27, 1981, Tabitha was a 1999 graduate of Woodside High School and was the first homecoming queen. She was selected as a candidate for the next upcoming Tyra Banks' "America's Next Top Model."
Tabitha touched and was loved by so many people. She had a wonderful and caring spirit for others. She was a member of Colossian Baptist Church, Newport News.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving daughter, Akira Renai Wallace; her parents, the Rev. Darrin C. Lyons Sr. and Greta R. Lyons; one sister, Latasha Nicole Lyons of King George County; three brothers, Adrian Terrell Lyons of Dahlgren, and Jereme Dewayne and Darrin C. Lyons Jr., both of Newport News; one niece, Jamara Campbell; three nephews, Javon Campbell, and Avion and Aneis Lyons; her grandparents, James "June bug" Johnson Jr. and Phyllis Johnson of Dahlgren and Ida Mae Lyons of Baltimore; her great-grandmother, Joanna Lyons of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends visited on Sunday, June 20, at Little Ark Baptist Church, Owens. A funeral was held on Monday, June 21, at Colossian Baptist Church, with Pastor Peter A. Evans officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
To the Adult and Pediatrics Hematology-Oncology staff at Portsmouth Naval Hospital and to the staff at the Brain Tumor Center at Duke University Medical Center--thank you. Special thanks to Dr. Joanne Sutton at Portsmouth and Dr. Sri Gururangan at the Brain Tumor Center at Duke University Medical Center, and CDR Katherine Ballantyne, who has blessed this family in a special way.
Arrangements were entrusted to Nicholson-Cummings Funeral Home in Hampton.

Eugene Arthur Heberlein 61 years
Eugene Arthur Heberlein, 61, of Fredericksburg, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2004, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.
Mr. Heberlein was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Fredericksburg and had retired in 1999 from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved singing in the church choir.
He is survived by his wife, Judith D. Heberlein; a daughter, Rebecca L. Hoskins and her husband, Gregory, of Spotsylvania County; two sons, Joseph E. Heberlein and his wife, Beverly, of Spotsylvania, and Johnathan E. Heberlein and his wife, Beth, of King George County; a sister, Elsie Spencer and her husband, Dale, of Crewe; two brothers, Frank O. Heberlein of Las Vegas and Spencer Heberlein of San Diego; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 22, at the Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Allen Fisher officiating.
Inurnment was private. The family received friends at the church.
Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Presbyterian Church, 810 Princess Anne Street, Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.

Rita J. Hirleman 74 years
Rita J. Hirleman, 74, formerly of Kalamazoo, Mich., died Friday, June 18, 2004, at Mary Washington Health Center, Colonial Beach.
Born in Battle Creek, Mich., she relocated to Colonial Beach in 2000. She was a retired waitress who loved to read and play bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Hirleman.
Survivors include two brothers, Edward Shellenberger of Fulton, Mich., and Keith Shellenberger of Battle Creek; two daugthers, Victoria Kelley of Battle Creek and Cami Goodner of Colonial Beach; four stepdaughters, Jodi Harris, Sherri Hirleman, Christine Stout and Diane Meliki, all of Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren, Brandy, Jessica and Staci of Colonial Beach, Price, Justina, Doug, James Kohl, Bradley and Erin of Kalamazoo and James T. and Tina of Battle Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral and burial will be held in Kalamazoo at a later date. The family received friends on Sunday, June 20, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach.

Ruth May Clark Hufner Hall 93 years
Ruth May Clark Hufner Hall, 93, of Warsaw Health Care in Warsaw, formerly of Spotsylvania County, died Thursday, June 10, 2004.
Born May 31, 1911, in Sandston, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lydia Clark; her husbands, Dewey Hufner and Howard Hall; a daughter, Wayne Balderson; and her sisters, Myrtle Dodd, Ruby Dodd, Grace Winn, Josie Turner, Ava Yelinek and Helen Hatch.
Survivors include a sister, Lydia Carter of Sandston; a brother, Joe Clark of Sandston; a stepdaughter, Francis Whitlock of Spotsylvania; her stepsons, Jim Hufner and his wife, Alice, and Walker Hufner and his wife, Joyce, all of Mechanicsville; her grandsons, James Hufner and his wife, Diane, of Louisa, Donald Sullivan and his wife, Deborah, of Mebane, N.C., Danny Sullivan and Brenda Hamilton of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Jimmy Sullivan and his wife, Judy, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and Pete Whitlock and his wife, Ann, of Fredericksburg; and her granddaughters, Linda Davis and her husband, Joe, of Midlothian, JoAnn Hufner and Deborah Hufner, both of Hanover, Audrey Bishop and her husband, Rex, and Rose Brubaker and her husband, Bru, all of King George County; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held on Friday, June 18, at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove. A funeral was held on Saturday, June 19, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Spotsylvania, with the Rev. Bruce Proctor officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Margie Paytes, 201 Laurel Ave., Fredericksburg, Va. 22408; or to Community Church of Christ, Box 959, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. 27870.

Cecil Neal Evans 92 years
Cecil Neal Evans, 92, of Colonial Beach, formerly of Adelphi, Md., died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Mary Washington Health Center, Colonial Beach.
Born in Richmond County, Mr. Evans was an auto mechanic in Washington, D.C., and Maryland. He had retired as a deacon from Colonial Beach Baptist Church after 10 years. He was the widower of Mary Evelyn Evans.
Survivors include a son, Johnny N. Evans of Glen Burnie, Md.; a daughter, Shirley Mozingo of Adelphi, Md.; two brothers, James Evans of Columbia, Md., and Hudnall Evans of Weems; two stepdaughters, Charlotte Simmons of Dundee, Fla., and Peggy Avery of Laurel, Md.; a half sister, Alice Sliakis of White Stone; three half brothers, Woodrow Evans of Weems, Franklin Evans of Pasadena, Md., and Wilson Evans of Weems; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held on Friday, June 18, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, with the Rev. Johnny Almond officiating. Burial was in Historyland Memorial Park in King George.
The family received friends at the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Colonial Beach Baptist Church Building Fund, Box 27, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443.
