Woodrow W. "Sonny" Haddle Jr. 65 years
Woodrow W. "Sonny" Haddle Jr., 65, of King George County died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at Heritage Hall Health Care in King George.
Mr. Haddle had retired as a boiler maker from a union local in Maryland.
Survivors include a sister, Barbara Wood of Chesapeake.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, May 27, in Historyland Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to Hanover Baptist Church, Box 774, King George, Va. 22485.
Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, is handling the arrangements.

Ellen Crismond 73 years
Ellen Crismond, 73, of King George County died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Tuttle, Okla., Mrs. Crismond was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Crismond; a son, Kenneth Crismond and his wife, Debbie, of West Virginia; three daughters, Sharon Hall and her husband, Tom, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Linda Johnson and her husband, Don, of King George, and Connie Andersen and her husband, Mickey, of Fredericksburg, her mother, Margaret Opdyke, of Hutchinson, Kansas; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held on Wednesday, May 26, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, with the Rev. Rick Ecklund officiating. Burial was in Tabernacle Cemetery on State Route 610 in King George.
The family received friends from on Tuesday, May 25, at the funeral home.

Edith C. Clark 69 years
Edith C. Clark, 69, of Suitland, Md., passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2004. She was the beloved wife of Robert F. Clark; mother of Robert, Sandra, Charles and Rhonna. She is also survived by three sisters; one brother; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, the Rev. Ron and Claudette Okrasinski of Colonial Beach; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 29, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 203 Dennison St., Colonial Beach.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265; or to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Box 420, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443

William R. "Boots" Caruthers 71 years
William R. "Boots" Caruthers, 71, of Colonial Beach died Thursday, May 27, 2004.
Mr. Caruthers was a lifelong resident of Colonial Beach and had retired from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, as a computer systems engineer. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having received the Distinguished Flying Cross during the Korean War.
Survivors include four children, Raymond Taylor Caruthers, Donna LaRae Caruthers, Patrick Bayne Caruthers and Lori Ann Griffin; and three grandchildren. He was the widower of Marian Jones Caruthers, to whom he had been married 32 years.
An informal gathering was held at the residence Saturday, May 29, and Sunday, May 30.
Memorial donations may be made to the Colonial Beach Rescue Squad, Box 370, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443.
Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, is handling the arrangements.

Marianne Banerjee 36 years
Marianne Banerjee, 36, of Shelby Township, MI, formerly of King George, died Friday, May 14, 2004 at her home. She was born in Mount Clemens, MI on September 14, 1967.
Ms. Banerjee was employed as a teacher at Baker College. She held a bachelor of arts degree from Earlham College and a Master's degree from Southern Illinois University.
She is survived by her husband, Aaron; her son, Jacob; her parents, David and Patricia Heafield; her siblings, Mike Heafield and Holly Sorenson; two grandmothers, and in-laws, C.M. and Janet Banerjee of Murphysboro, IL.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on May 20 at St. Kieran Church in Shelby Township, MI.

Gayland Patrick "Luke" Gough 64 years
Gayland Patrick "Luke" Gough, 64, of Colonial Beach, formerly of Nokesville, died Friday, May 21, 2004.
He served in the U.S. Army and retired from NOVEC in 1995 after 25 years.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Dorothy "Dottie" Gough; one daughter, Angela May "Angel" Gough of Manassas; one son, Richard Henry "Richie" Gough of Catlett; two sisters, Edith Bailey of Nokesville and Roletta Wine of Manassas; and one grandchild, Jesse Gayland Gough.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, where a funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 27. Interment will follow in Valley View Cemetery, Nokesville.

Jessie Lynn Kerr 3 days
Jessie Lynn Kerr, 3-day-old daughter of Patricia Ann Ogle and Jason Christopher Kerr of King George County died Monday, May 17, 2004, at MCV Hospital.
Other survivors include her twin sister, Casey Jordan Kerr; two brothers, Christopher Patrick Kerr and Kevin Dalton Kerr; maternal grandparents, Patrick and Mildred Ogle of Stafford County; paternal grandparents, Kevin and Rebecca Kerr of Stafford; paternal great-grandparents, Mildred and Russell Kerr of Buffalo, N.Y.; paternal great-grandmother, Marian Riethmiller of Stafford; and several aunts.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, May 20, in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, was in charge of arrangements.

James W. "Jimmy" Fletcher IV 60 years
James W. "Jimmy" Fletcher IV, 60, of Colonial Beach, formerly of Alexandria, died at his home Tuesday, May 18, 2004.
Mr. Fletcher was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was an avid Redskins football fan, attending many home games while living in Alexandria.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Fletcher of Colonial Beach; a daughter, Tracey Davilla of Roanoke; a son, James W. Fletcher V of Falls Church; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 22, at the Loyal Order of Moose in Colonial Beach.

Kathryn M. Coulter 86 years
Kathryn M. Coulter, 86, of King George County, died Thursday, May 20, 2004.
Mrs. Coulter was active at Potomac Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed ceramics and cross-stitching. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Aquia Garden Club and the Williamston, Vt., Garden Club.
She had retired after 42 years with the federal government and went on to work an additional 10 years with REA Federal Credit Union. Mrs. Coulter was the Texas State Junior Women's Tennis champion at the age of 16.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Bryce of Crofton, Md., and Donna deMange of Worcester, Vt.; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and five nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Coulter; a brother, J.T. Mothershed; and a sister, Mary Jane Crossland.
A funeral for Mrs. Coulter was held Tuesday, May 25, at Potomac Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dennis L. Newton officiating. Interment was in National Memorial Park, Falls Church.
The family received friends Sunday, May 23, , and Monday, May 24, from at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel.
Contributions may be made to Potomac Baptist Church, 8103 Comorn Road, King George, Va. 22485. Flowers also will be accepted.

Gilbert F. "Sonny" Comstock 75 years
Gilbert F. "Sonny" Comstock, 75, of Owens in King George County died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond.
Mr. Comstock was a radio operator in the U.S. Army and an avid ham operator, call #K4SGQ.
Survivors include four sisters, Annie Richardson of Spotsylvania County, Margaret Ritter of Benito, Texas, Mitzi Starkey of Warner Springs, Calif., and JoAnn Botts of Bland; a brother, Rudolph Comstock of Hemphill, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria LeDoux.
A funeral was held on Saturday, May 22, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, with the Rev. Guy D. Mattox Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery, Owens.
The family received friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Dahlgren Rescue Squad, Box 1375, Dahlgren, Va. 22448.

Mickey Black unknown
A memorial service for Mary C. "Mickey" Black, who passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2004, was held Saturday, May 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Colonial Beach. Father Ron Okrasinski officiated.
Mickey worked as a legal secretary in Arlington for many years and then at Mayo & Mayo after she moved to Colonial Beach. Prior to her illness, she was employed at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library in Fredericksburg. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
Memorials in her name may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, Conn. 06405.

Thomas Wray Williams, Jr. 76 years
Thomas Wray Williams Jr., 76, of Stafford County passed away Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Outlook Pointe Nursing Center.
Mr. Williams was born March 22, 1928, in King George County. He was the son of the late Daisy and Wray Williams. He retired in 1992 after working for more than 30 years as an operating engineer for Excavation Construction Co. in Washington. He was also co-owner, together with his wife, of Big Tom's Antiques in downtown Fredericksburg. Mr. Williams was a life member and past president of White Oak Fire Department, an affiliation which spanned more than 30 years. He was also a former member of the Falmouth Fire Department. He enjoyed county politics and, before his health declined, was a quiet presence at all of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors meetings. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in King George.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edna Becky Williams; a granddaughter, Amy Renee Williams of Stafford County; two brothers, Herbert L. Williams and Charles G. Williams, both of King George; his daughter-in-law, Debra Williams Thompson and her husband, Douglas, and their son, Jeremy, all of Stafford; a number of nieces and nephews, including Dennis Williams, Phyllis Sullivan and Kevin Mills, all of Stafford; and the family caregiver, Hilda White of King George.
He was preceded in death by his only child, a son, Kenneth Wayne "Buffalo" Williams.
A funeral was held on Wednesday, May 12, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Curry officiating. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends on Tuesday, May 11, at the funeral home.
