Cregger
Charles William Cregger Jr., age two months, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 1996 in Marion.
He is survived by his father and mother, Charles and Darcy Cregger of Ceres; one sister, Reva Cregger of Ceres; his maternal grandparents, Chet and Kathleen Nicholson of Marion; his paternal grandparents, James and Carol Cregger of Ceres; his great-grandparents, William and Reva Barlett of California, Claudine Sechman of Utah, and Bill Nicholson of New Mexico; five aunts, Lisa Cregger and Caela Cregger, both of Marion, Missy Armstrong of Saltville, Erin Christesen of Atlanta, Ga., and Danielle Nicholson of Washington State; four uncles, Joe Cregger and Bucky Cregger, both of Marion, Robert Armstrong of Saltville, and Cary Christesen of Alaska.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Marion with President Howard Burton and Mr. Kenny Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Community Cemetery in Nebo. The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seaver-
Brown Chapel. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service.

Hatfield
Laura Margaret "Peg" Horne Hatfield died Monday, Nov. 18, 1996 in Hillside Manor, Kingsport, Tenn.
She had lived in Saltville for 54 years before moving to Kingsport four years ago. She was a native of Glade Spring and was the widow of Dr. C.C. Hatfield. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Dr. A.F. Horne and Laura Lincoln Horne; four brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Hatfield graduated from Marion College and attended Martha Washington College in Abingdon. She later studied music at the Chicago Musical College and Washington University, St. Louis.
She taught Sunday School and was pianist and organist at the Saltville and Riverview Presbyterian churches for over 50 years. She was a life member of the Presbyterian Women of the church.
She taught piano for more than 60 years and was a life member and past president of the Four Season Garden Club. She was active with the Rich Valley Fair, the Cancer Society and many other civic organizations.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Melinda Hatfield, Kingsport, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Susan Elizabeth Hatfield, Kingsport, Tenn.; one grandson, James Andrew Hatfield Jr., Kingsport, Tenn.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 20, in Riverview Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Wiley Neal officiating. Burial will be in the Osborne family cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Riverview Presbyterian Church or the Saltville Rescue Squad.

Hutton
Mary E. Hutton, age 77, of Marion, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 1996 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
Mrs. Hutton was a lifelong resident of Marion. She worked at Harwood for several years and had retired from the Blue Ridge Job Corps Center in Marion. She was a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a son, Richard Allen Hutton.
Survivors include her husband, George S. Hutton; two sons, Roger Hutton and Sherman Eugene Hutton, both of Marion; one sister, Margaret Davidson, Marion; one brother, Oscar Sherill Foster, Roanoke; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. in Barnett's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Arthur officiating. Interment followed in the Wassum Cemetery.

Keyes
Gerald B. Keyes, age 59, of Sugar Grove, died Monday, Nov. 18, 1996 in Grayson County.
Mr. Keyes served with the Sugar Grove Fire Department for 20 years and was employed at the Marion Telephone Company for 36 years.
He is survived by his wife, Glenna West Keyes of Sugar Grove; one son and daughter-in-law, Pam and Gary Shirey of Sugar Grove; one son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Dawn Keyes of Sugar Grove; four grandsons, Joe Shirey, Jason Shirey, Lee Shirey, and Jonathan Keyes, all of Sugar Grove; one granddaughter, Kayla Keyes of Sugar Grove; his mother, Ethel Keyes of Sugar Grove; three brothers, Sonny Keyes, Larry Keyes, and Danny Keyes, all of Sugar Grove; one sister, Sue Parks of Sugar Grove; one special sister-in-law, Debbie Alexander of Marion; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; two godchildren, Sarah and Whitney Woods.

Gerdi Heidi Little, age 53, died Friday, Nov. 15, 1996 in Smyth County Community Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Jan Little of Boston, Mass., and Chris Little of El Paso, Texas.
Graveside services were held Monday, Nov. 18, 1996 at 2 p.m. in Round Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Calvin Tabor officiating.

Schoeneman
Eleanore Smart Schoeneman, age 85, widow of Albert Schoeneman, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 1996 in the George B. Kegley Manor Nursing Home, Bastian.
She was the daughter of the late Isaiah and Eleanore Hupfer Smart.
Mrs. Schoeneman was a graduate of the New York University in New York City. She wrote "Around Town News" for the Gainesville Sun, Palatka Daily News and the Lake Area Monitor for 15 years. She was a member of the Melrose Women's Club, Melrose Library Board, Melrose Action Committee, Melrose Chapter AARP and served on the Melrose Arts & Crafts Festival Committee.
She was a member of the Melrose United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Melrose United Methodist Women having served as president and currently was a member of the Red Oak United Methodist Women and the Bland County Senior Citizens.
She is survived by one daughter, Gail Strickland of Micanopy, Fla.; one son, Rev. William (Bill) Schoeneman, Ceres; four grandchildren: Dorothy Svoboda of Orlando, Fla.; Stephen Svoboda of Jacksonville, Fla.; James Schoeneman of Warner Robins, Ga.; and Andrew Schoeneman of Ceres; three great-grandchildren; a special friend, Jane Jenkins of Manhasset, New York.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Melrose United Methodist Church in Melrose, Fla., with the Rev. Janie Nell Hickman and the Rev. Al Vaught officiating. Girtha Gertrude Tuggle Suits, age 59, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 1996 in Smyth County Community Hospital.
She was a member of the Freedom Tabernacle Church in Atkins.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas Suits, Marion; one son, John Henry Wyatt Jr.; three daughters, Carolyn Roberts, Margann Bridgman and Bessie Hensley, all of Marion; three brothers, Nelson Lee Tuggle, Marion, Edward Tuggle, Saltville, and James Tuggle, Marion; four sisters, Sally Snead, Greeneville, Tenn., Virginia Harris, Rebecca Harris and Katherine Johnson, all of Saltville; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Dora Thomas, age 58, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 1996 in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon. She was a native of Washington County.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Chapman and Catherine Widener, both of Glade Spring; one brother, Tommy Widener, Chilhowie; one sister, Mabel Dempsey; five grandchildren: Johnny Widener, April Widener, Charlie Widener, Jonathan Chapman and Allen Chapman; one great-grandchild, Tommy Warner.
Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with the Rev. Mahlon Wyatt officiating.

Atkins
William E. "Epp" Atkins, age 86, of Meadowview, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 1996 in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II and was a member of Mount Carmel Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth "Polly" Atkins; one son, Johnny Wayne Atkins of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Vivian) Freeman, Marion, Mrs. Robert (Bea) Rosenbaum, Mrs. Scott (Peggy) Whitehead, both of Abingdon, and Mrs. Chris (Joyce) Hayden, Glade Spring; two brothers, Ake Atkins, Abingdon, and John L. Atkins, Marion; two sisters, Pearl Shortt and Hannah Orfield, both of Abingdon; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
