Lois H. Parks
ATKINS, Va. -- Lois Hazel Lanter Parks, 74, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
She was a native of Fries, Va., and had lived most of her life in the Smyth County area.
She was the widow of Elisha Josh Parks.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois Tilson, Elizabeth Kay Kestner and Judy Mae Nelson, all of Marion; one son, Maston Parks, Monrovia, Md.; one sister, Effie Mae Padgett, Woodlawn, Va.; five grandchildren; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Seaver- Brown Funeral Service is in charge.

Grace R. Powers
MARION -- Grace Ruth Powers, 92, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was the widow of Charlie Powers, Marion.
Survivors include two nephews, Lee Manuel, Missouri and Jesse Manuel, Arkansas; and many other nieces and nephews.
Barnett's Funeral Home, Marion, is in charge.

Nixsola B. Ring
POUND -- Nixsola "Nick" Baker Ring, 68, of 11577 Cedar Road died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997, in St. Mary's Hospital, Norton.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pound.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Ring Sr., one daughter, Sharma McCoy, Pound; two sons, Jesse Ring Jr. and Bill Ring, both of Pound; her mother, Sadie Baker, Pound; three sisters, Maude Ann Mullins, Wise, and June Mullins and Dorsey Baker, both of Pound; four brothers, Clay Baker, Arnold Baker, John W. Baker and Jerry Baker, all of Pound; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Baker Funeral Home, Pound, is in charge.

Nell B. Rose
LEBANON -- Mrs. Nell Beatrice "Bea" Rose, 74, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, in Maple Grove Health Care Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Russell County and a member of Maple Grove Community Church.
She was the widow of Ollie Burns Rose.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Rose Robinette, Lebanon; seven sisters, Joann Statzer, Castlewood, Inez Grant, Etta Boughton and Janice Cole, all of Richmond, Virginia Loftus, Wayland, N.Y., Lexie Snead and Loucreata Huffman, both of Lebanon; two brothers, R.C. Chafin, Lebanon, and Jim Chafin, Castlewood; one grandson; and two great-grandsons.
Russell County Funeral Home is in charge.

Craig P. Roulo
MARION -- Craig Philip Roulo, 17, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, at his home.
Survivors include his father, Craig F. Roulo, Marion; his mother, Jane M. Heymach, Richmond; his grandparents, Raymond and Joyce Roulo, Portville, N.Y.; one brother, Bobby Roulo, of the home; his stepmother, Shelby Pierce, Marion; three step-sisters, Tina, Chasity and Charity, all of Marion; and one stepbrother, Steven, Marion.

Alma P. Umbarger
MARION -- Mrs. Alma Pearl Umbarger, 88, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997 in Smyth County Community Hospital.
She was the widow of George E. Umbarger.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Creger, Crockett, Va.; two sons, James H. Umbarger and Ben F. Umbarger, both of Atkins, Va.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

James C. Widner
James C. "Jim" Widner, 45, of Bristol Tennessee died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Sullivan County, Va., and was a member of South Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Valerie Nicole Widner, of the home; his parents, William Albert and Mary Widner, Bristol Tennessee; two brothers, Danny Widner and Roger Widner, both of Abingdon; seven sisters, Mrs. Roy (Bertha Lee) Baumgardner, Westminster, Md., Mrs. Roger (Kathy) Parks, Mrs. Steve (Patsy) Keeling, Mrs. Richard (Sheri) Cox, Mrs. Jimmy (Cindy) Montgomery and Mrs. Kenny (Barbara) Vestal, all of Bristol Tennessee, and Ester Denton, Abingdon; and several nieces and nephews.
Farris Funeral Service, Abingdon, is in charge.

Tommy D. Wilson
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Tommy Douglas "T.D."Wilson, 52, formerly of Richlands, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 1996.
He was a native of Raven and a 1964 graduate of Richlands High School. He was a graduate of MTSU at Murfreesboro, Tenn. and had taken post graduate courses at Guilford College in Burlington, N.C.
At the time of his death he was crew supervisor of Walters Buildings, Charleston, W.Va.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Crystal) O'Neill, Wichita, Kan.; his mother, Mrs. Nelchene Wilson Sharpe, Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Billy Sharpe and Gregory Sharpe, both of Jacksonville; and two grandchildren.
Hurst-Scott Funeral Home, Richlands, is in charge.

Willie F. Wyatt
DAMASCUS -- Mrs. Willie Faye Wyatt, 80, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997 in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon.
She was a lifelong resident of the Damascus area and was the widow of Clifford Wyatt.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Damascus.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Texie) Lord, Bristol Virginia; two sons, Jim L. Wyatt and Bud G. Wyatt, both of Winchester, Va.; four sisters, Lavinia "Curly" Poff, Damascus, Mrs. S.L. (Margaret) Jackson, Abingdon, Rowena Alderson and Peggy Rust, both of Danville, Va.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Johnson Funeral Home, Damascus, is in charge.

Andrew D. Ball
HONAKER -- Andrew Douglas Ball, 3 years of age, of the Green Acres Subdivision, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, in a Lebanon Hospital.
He was a native of Manassas, and was a son of Kenneth Dale and Darlene Meadows Ball of Honaker.
He had lived in the Honaker area for two years, moving here from Manassas.
He attended the Church of God in the Lord Jesus Name, Council, and Sunday school at the Honaker Church of God, Honaker.
In addition to the parents, survivors include one brother, Matthew Brandon Ball, of the home; his maternal grandparents, the Rev. Lester and Beulah Meadows, Honaker; and his paternal grandparents, Major F. "June" and Arbutus Ball, Honaker.
Honaker Funeral Home is in charge.

Guy M. Bickley
Guy McNeer Bickley, 67, of 508 Pearl St., Bristol, Va., died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997 in DVA Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tenn.
He was a native of Castlewood and had lived in Kingsport before moving to Bristol.
He was a retired self-employed coal operator, a member of VFW Patton-Crosswhite Post 6975, attended Fellowship Chapel and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred C. Bickley; one daughter, Mary Bickley Clark, Bristol Tennessee; one son, Daniel Guy Bickley, Fredericksburg, Va.; one stepson, Robert Edward Seats, Shady Valley; three sisters, Carolyn Farrier, Newport News, Va., Nell Lonon, St. Paul, and Joyce Minor, Blountville; two brothers, W.O. Bickley, Castlewood, and Jack Bickley, Blountville; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge.

Carey E. Calhoun
Carey Evans Calhoun, 35, of Bristol Tennessee, and formerly of Sugar Grove, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997, in Johnson City Medical Center from injuries received in an automobile accident in Elizabethton.
She was a graduate of Emory & Henry College and was employed by HFS Inc. in Elizabethton.
Survivors include her mother, Marguerite R. "Meg" Calhoun, Bluff City; three sisters, Ann B. Jones, Bluff City, Pamela Hannam, Arlington, Va. and Pat Samuels, Columbia, Mo.; and one brother, Peter S. Barrow, Silver Spring, Md.
Oakley-Cook Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
