Grace E. Hale
McLEAN, Va. -- Grace Elizabeth Hale, 87, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996, in Arleigh Burk Pavilion.
She was a former resident of Russell County.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Ernest Hale; two sisters, Kitty Gilmer, Johnson City, and Edythe Little; and several nieces and nephews.
Lebanon Funeral Home is in charge.

Moses E. Harrison
VENTURA, Calif. -- Moses Elbert Harrison, 64, died Dec. 29, 1996, in UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, Calif.
He was a native of Tazewell, Va.
He was a graduate of Tazewell High School and of the Washington County Technical School where he received a certificate in drafting.
He played professional baseball in the Minor Leagues and received an invitation to spring training by the Cleveland Indians.
He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War.
Following his military and baseball efforts, he worked for a time in the car sales business and was Used Car Sales Manager at Campbell Ford in Bristol Tennessee during the late 1960s.
He was also employed for many years with Raytheon in Bristol and Oxnard, Calif.
He was later employed with ITT Corp. and the Northrup Corp. in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
He was a member of Oxnard First Baptist Church for 25 years and was involved in "The Living Cross" of that church during the late 1970s.
Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Jackson, Ontario, Calif., Kimberly Reimert, Spring, Texas and Debbie Harrison, Oxnard; one son, Brian Harrison, Ventura; four sisters, Sylvia Phillips, Thompson Valley, Va., Edith Foss, Endicott, N.Y., Judy Burgess, Bristol Virginia and Sallie Graham, Norwalk, Calif.; one brother, Glenn Harrison, Tazewell, Va.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Akard Funeral Home is in charge.

Alice J. Honaker
BECKLEY, W.Va. -- Alice Jane Honaker, 73, of 612 Pikeview Drive, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, in a Portsmouth, Va. hospital.
She was a native of Bluefield, W.Va.
She was a member of Maxwell Hill Baptist Church in Beckley and a former member of the College Avenue Baptist Church in Bluefield.
She had lived in Beckley since 1993, moving there from Bluefield.
Survivors include her husband, Claude E. Honaker; two sons, Charles E. Honaker, Fairmont, W.Va. and Robert Michael Honaker, Beckley; one daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Catherine H.) Rock, Portsmouth; her mother, Tannis Lefler Riggins, Chillicothe, Ohio; one sister, Elizabeth Gibson, Chillicothe; three half-brothers, Charles Mason Riggins and Patrick Riggins, both of Elizabeth City, N.C. and Michael Riggins, Florida; and seven grandchildren.
Seaver Funeral Service, Princeton, W.Va., is in charge.

Beulah S. Kirk
MARION -- Beulah Sheets Kirk, 95, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997.
She was the widow of Glenn M. Kirk.
She was a member of Comers Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include six daughters, Mary Lee Kirk, Pauline Pickle and Helen Barnes, all of Marion, Opal Stamper, Chilhowie, Charlotte Childers, Spartanburg, S.C. and Carol Caldwell, Bluefield, W.Va.; three sons, Gene Lowman, Sugar Grove, Frank Lowman, Columbus, Ind. and Ray Lowman, Bel-Air, Md.; one stepdaughter, Katherine Stone, Marion; two stepsons, James Kirk, Christiansburg, Va. and Ralph Kirk, Salem, Va.; one brother, Gordie Sheets, Sugar Grove; 54 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Reginald W. Leslie
GLADE SPRING -- Reginald W. Leslie, 74, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one son, Glen Leslie, Glade Spring; one daughter, Glenda Leslie, Glade Spring; three grandchildren, Gary Leslie, Leigh Leslie and Derrick Leslie, all of Glade Spring; and one great-granddaughter.
The D.R. Henderson Funeral Home, Saltville, is in charge.

Annie C. Morrell
Annie Crumley Morrell, 93, of the High Point Community of Bristol Virginia, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was owner and operator of Goose Pimple Junction Grocery with her husband.
She had been a pianist for many years at area churches.
She was of the Methodist faith and the widow of William Daniel Morrell.
Survivors include one son, David Morrell, Chilhowie; one brother, Hal Crumley, Gray, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Akard Funeral Home is in charge.

Ann L. Morrell
Ann L. Morrell, 82, of 111 Timberbrook Drive, Bristol, Va., died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area, a member of First Christian Church and the widow of Buster S. Morrell.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Cecil (Dora) Bradley, Yorktown, Va.; one son, Don D. Morrell, Bluff City; three sisters, Myrtle Mercer, Isabelle Ritter and Frances Shortt; one brother, Irby Sullins; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

D.C. Ring
ST. PAUL, Va. -- D.C. Ring, 73, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, in Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon.
He was a native of Russell County and a self-employed painter.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Ring; one sister, Ruth Watson, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Joyce Hagy Painter and Randall Hagy; and several nieces and nephews.
Castlewood Funeral Home is in charge.

Paul G. Rosenfeld
Paul George Rosenfeld, 66, of Bristol Virginia, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Vienna, Austria, and had lived here for the past six years.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served his country in Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Bram Rosenfeld; two daughters, Ellen Frumen, Modiin, Israel, and Dr. Joann Rosenfeld, Bristol Virginia; one son, Andrew Rosenfeld, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren.
Private services will be held Sunday.

Etheleen G. Sturm
Etheleen "Nora" Grindstaff Sturm, 82, of Bristol Tennessee, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, at her home.
She was a native of Elizabethton and had lived in Bristol for the past 20 years.
She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church.
She was the widow of Virgil Sturm.
Survivors include one sister, Polly Ellison, Bristol Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
