Louise B. Walsh
Louise Blaylock Walsh, 68, of Leisure Park Towers, Bristol, Va., died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a graduate of Bristol Virginia High School and Presbyterian College, Crossnore, N.C.
She was a retired employee of Bristol Memorial Hospital, a member of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW Patton-Crosswhite Post No. 6975.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the widow of Clarence Willard Walsh.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Sue Trinkle and Debra Kay Adams, both of Bristol; two sons, Dr. Charles L. Walsh and Clarence Willard Walsh Jr., both of Bristol; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

Louise T. Woods
MARION -- Louise T. Woods, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1996, in Francis Marion Manor.
She was the widow of Wade Woods.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John R. (Lois) King, Marion; one sister, Mabel Overbay; three grandchildren, Tonda Gail King, John E. King and Tanja Scaggs; nine great-grandchildren, Tiffany Tomlin, Michael Robert Fisher, Tiara Fisher, Zachary King, Eric Lyle King, Courtney Scaggs, John Scaggs, Jared Scaggs and Michael Deel; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Barnett's Funeral Home, Marion, is in charge.

June S. Wright
RICHLANDS -- Mrs. June Stevenson Wright, 81, of 314 Rockbridge Avenue, formerly of the Kents Ridge Road section of Cedar Bluff, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, in a Lebanon, Va., hospital.
She was a native of Steelesburg, Va., and had lived in the Richlands and Cedar Bluff areas most of her life.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Richlands.
She was also a member of the Kents Ridge Home Demonstration Club, the Columbia Clinch Valley Women's Auxiliary and the Virginia Highlands Crafts Society.
She was the widow of Jonce Samuel Wright Sr.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Susie Wright Culbertson, Cedar Bluff; three sons, Roy Lee Wright, Cedar Bluff, Clarence E. Wright, Johnston, R.I., and Jonce S. "Mickey" Wright Jr., Abingdon; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Betty Wright Campbell, Blacky, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Stevenson Musick, Honaker, and Mrs. Nina Kathleen "Billie" Stevenson Cox, Cedar Bluff; five brothers, William Buford Stevenson and Rudolph Stevenson, both of Cedar Bluff, Edgar "Clem" Stevenson, Abingdon, Clarence "Junior" Stevenson, Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Kurt Stevenson, Ray, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Samantha D. Adams
WISE -- Samantha D. Adams, 5, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, in Duke Medical Center, Durham, N.C.
She was a student at Woodrow Adams Elementary School.
Survivors include her parents, Danny Adams and Heather Boggs Adams, Wise; one sister, Megan N. Adams, Wise; one brother, Paul D. Adams Jr., Wise; her maternal grandparents, Charlene Boggs, Norton, and Danny Boggs, Pound; her paternal grandparents, Donald J. Adams and Aleda Adams, Wise; her maternal great-grandparents, Virginia and Dayton Boggs, Pound; and her paternal great-grandparents, James and Mary Adams, Manassas.
Baker Funeral Home, Pound, is in charge.

Ruby M. Barker
WOODWAY -- Ruby Mae Barker, 78, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, in Lee County Community Hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of Lee County and a homemaker.
She was a member of the World Wide Church of God.
She was the widow of Darwin R. Barker.
Survivors include one son, D.J. Barker, Woodway; two daughters, Maureen Bishop, Dot, Va., and Joyce Peters, Dryden; five grandchildren, Barbara Pennington, Billy Bishop, Lorrie Peters, Alan Barker and Richard Barker; and five great-grandchildren, Angie Ballengee, Whitney Barker, Danny Pennington, Jason Pennington and Matthew Barker.

Charles W. Blevins
CHILHOWIE -- Charles Woodrow Blevins, 77, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997, in Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion.
He was a retired employee of the Pepsi-Cola Co., Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Emily Tuell Blevins; one son, Charles William Blevins, Chilhowie; three daughters, Rosie Overbay and Alice Sue Sheets, both of Chilhowie, and Marie Shupe, Max Meadows, Va.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Joseph Caruso
NORTON -- Joseph "Joey" Caruso, 69, of Tenth Street, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997, at his home.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Norton and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was retired from the Metropolitan Life Veterans Association and was a qualifying member of its Million Dollar Roundtable.
In 1981 he became co-founder of Intermountain Insurance Agency in Norton.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Lou Woods Caruso; one daughter, Toni Ann Chandler, Blowing Rock, N.C.; one son, Darrell Caruso, Norton; one brother, J.T. Caruso, Norton; one sister, Ann Short, Norton; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Ermel M. Davis
SOPHIA, N.C. -- Ermel Mercer "Jack" Davis, 62, of 1687 Market Drive, formerly of North Tazewell, Va., died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, in Wesley Long Hospital, Greensboro, N.C.
He was a native of Boone, N.C., and was a graduate of Tazewell High School, Class of 1952.
He had lived in the Greensboro area for the past 35 years and was of the Methodist faith.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Honaker Davis; one daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Teresa Davis) Sams, Sophia; one son, James Wayne Davis, Winston Salem, N.C.; his mother, Clara Mercer Davis, Richlands; one brother, Ralph Davis, Claypool Hill; two granddaughters; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial will be held Tuesday in Greensboro, N.C.

Myrtle J. Edwards
Mrs. Myrtle Jeanette Edwards, 60, of 2101 Weaver Pike, Bristol, Tenn., died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Bristol and a member of Tabernacle of Faith in Erwin, Tenn.
Survivors include her husband, Rassie "R.J." Edwards; six children, Tammy Arnold, Bristol Tennessee, John Edwards, Kingsport, Becky Hudson, Bluff City, Mary DeHart, Bristol Virginia, Steve Booher, Fletcher, N.C., and Robin Sproles, Castlewood; three sisters, Hazel Widner, Bristol Virginia, Racheal Davis, Bristol Virginia, and Lois Spence, Plainsville, Conn.; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Daniel Hackney
HAYSI -- Daniel Hackney, 64, of Route 2, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, at his home.
He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Bethlehem Old Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Maggie Deel Hackney; four sons, Paul Hackney, Danny Hackney, Kelly Hackney and Jeff Hackney, all of Haysi; one daughter, Lovonne Lambert, Bee, Va.; one sister, Goldie Shortridge, Mouthcard, Ky.; two half-brothers, Ernest Hackney and Edgar Hackney, Baltimore, Md.; three half-sisters, Birchie McClanahan, Grundy, Joyce Boyd, Vansant, and Edith Thomas, Haysi; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Dorothy S. Hobson
MOUNTAIN CITY -- Mrs. Dorothy S. Fritts Hobson, 80, of Route 5, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997, in Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem, N.C.
She was a native of Johnson County and the widow of her first husband, John Milton Fritts; and her second husband, Homer Hobson.
She was a member of the Vaught's Gap Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Fritts, Bristol Virginia, Lawrence Fritts, Orlando, Fla., and Malcolm Fritts, Mountain City; two brothers, Bruce Simcox and Shelton Simcox, both of Mountain City; three sisters, Mamie Marion, Bristol Tennessee, Juanita Simcox and Ruth Norris, both of Mountain City; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
