Mary H. Fauver
Mary Hatcher Fauver, 74, of Bristol Tennessee, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, in Greystone Health Care Center, Blountville.
She was a native of Bluff City and had lived in Bristol for more than 50 years.
She was a member of Walnut Hill Presbyterian Church and the widow of Charlie Fauver.
Survivors include one sister, Lula Sluder, Freemont, Ohio; one brother, Bill Hatcher, Essex, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
Akard Funeral Home is in charge.

Charles D. Fleenor Sr.
Charles Delmer Fleenor Sr., 85, of 1707 Volunteer Parkway, Bristol, Tenn., died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Bristol Virginia, a retired letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, and a member of Euclid Avenue Baptist Church where he was a former teacher and deacon. He was also a member of King Masonic Lodge No. 461 and a former realtor.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vivian H. Fleenor; one daughter, Mrs. Martin (Jody) Burklow, Bristol Tennessee; one son, Charles D. Fleenor Jr., Blountville; two sisters, Edith Wald, Mount Dora, Fla., and Lucille Goodman, Plugerville, Texas; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge.

Margaretta F. Fleenor
MARION -- Margaretta Francisco Fleenor, 77, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
She was the widow of Fred Fleenor.
Survivors include five daughters, Janice Meade, Landrum, S.C., Mrs. Charles (Brenda) Harrison, Taylors, S.C., Mrs. Eddie (Barbara) Choate, High Point, N.C., Kay Fleenor and Mrs. Palma (Ann) Ball, both of Marion ; one son, Bill Fleenor, Marion; one sister, Gereva Sue Smith, Scott County, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Seaver- Brown Funeral Service, Marion, is in charge.

Sam H. Hale
MEADOWVIEW -- Sam H. Hale, 95, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, in Smyth County Medical Center.
He was formerly of Gravel Lick section of Russell County before moving to Washington County in 1980.
He was a member of the Gravel Lick Old Regular Baptist Church. He was a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA Local No. 9750.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Church Hale.
Survivors include one son, Noah Bruce Hale, Meadowview; one daughter, Zenna Robinson, Lebanon, Va.; one sister, Mae Turner, Castlewood; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Huff-Cook Funeral Home, Castlewood, is in charge.

Charles R. Kidd Jr.
PINEY FLATS -- Charles Russell Kidd Jr., 66, of Mitchell Kidd Road, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, in Greystone Health Care Center, Blountville.
He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County.
He was retired from Morrison Fiberglass of Bristol.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his father, Charles R. Kidd Sr., Piney Flats; and two sisters, Jewell Kidd Mitchell and Mary Kate Kidd Booher, both of Piney Flats.
Blountville Funeral Home is in charge.

Worley L. Mullins
CLINTWOOD -- Worley L. Mullins, 75, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and was a retired coal miner and member of UMWA Local No. 1256.
Survivors include his wife, Zella Mullins, Clintwood; two daughters, Mavis Underwood, Victoria, Va., and Mary Biggs, Richmond; three sons, Ronald Mullins and Virgil Mullins, both of Clintwood, and Sylvan Mullins, Abingdon; one half-brother, Donald Huey, Baltimore, Md.; four half-sisters, Vadna Mullins, Arbutus Keene and Jeanette Oiszenski, all of Baltimore, and Virgie Deloach, Statesville, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mullins Funeral Home, Clintwood, is in charge.

Lucille D. Nickels
BLUFF CITY -- Lucille D. South Nickels, 76, of 401 Silver Grove Road, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Burlington, N.C., and lived most of her life in the Bristol area.
She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Nickels; one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Joan) Reeves, Bluff City; two sons, Doug Nickels and James Nickels, both of Bluff City; two sisters, Louise Young, Portsmouth, Va., and Ann Brown, Bristol Virginia; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge.

Pauline V. Odum
Mrs. Pauline V. Moore Odum, 87, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Washington County and had lived in Bristol and Abingdon for most of her life.
She was of the Christian faith.
She was the widow of William David Odum Sr.
Survivors include two sons, William David Odum Jr. and Tony Vandee Odum, both of Bristol Virginia; three daughters, Mrs. John (Peggy) Reynolds, Abingdon, Mrs. Billy (Sandra Carolyn) McMurray and Mrs. Lanny (Patty) Stoots, both of Bristol Virginia; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Farris Funeral Service, Abingdon, is in charge.

Lillian H. Phipps
Lillian Hockett Phipps, 88, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Washington County, Va., but had lived in Bristol Virginia for many years.
She was a homemaker and a member of Lynwood Bible Church.
She was the widow of Fred C. Phipps.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. G. Kermit (Evelyn P.) Lilly, Bristol Tennessee; one brother, Coleman M. Hockett, Bristol Tennessee; two half-sisters, Eloise Foles and Wanda Draughon, both of Fayetteville, N.C.; one half-brother, David Hockett, Richmond; two granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
East Lawn Funeral Home, Kingsport, is in charge.

Henry B. Sutherland
CLINTWOOD -- Henry Burns Sutherland, 87, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, in Waco, Texas.
He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a member of Peuther Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
He was a member of the Clintwood Kiwanis Club and Clintwood Masonic Lodge No. 66 AF&AM.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Carty Sutherland.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Jim (Rita) Purdy, Waco; four brothers, Woodrow Sutherland and Brady Sutherland, both of Abingdon, Boone Sutherland and Fonso Sutherland, both of Haysi; three sisters, Helen Owens and Gladys Sutherland, Haysi, and Jackie Keene, Oakwood, Va.; and three grandsons.

Gary L. Tankersley
BIG STONE GAP -- Gary Lee Tankersley, 50, died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, in Norton Community Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sisters, Emily Harris, Russell Springs, Ky., Joyce Risher, Griffin, Ga., and Sharon Howe, Warner Robbins, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
