KINGSPORT -- Blanche Augusta Cross, 82, of Bowater Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Massachusetts.
She was a registered nurse, graduating from Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing. She did volunteer work for the American Red Cross.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She was the widow of Maurice Addison MikeCross.
Survivors include one son, H. F. Cross,
Johnson City; two foster children, George Webster, Portland, Tenn., and Pam Webster Noble, Fontana, Calif.; three foster grandchildren, Sharon, Rhonda and Joy Webster, and several nieces and nephews.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Dennis G. Dishner
BLUFF CITY -- AE 1 Dennis G. Dishner, 51, of 618 Mountain View Road, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, in VA Medical Center, Mountain Home.
He was a native of Sullivan County and a retired Navy veteran, a member of the Fleet Reserve, a member of the Disabled American veterans; and, was also a Cryptic Mason with the J. Wendal Fargis Lodge, Neptune Beach, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Bare Dishner, of the home; one daughter, Michelle Dishner Gilliam, Bristol, Virginia; one son-in-law; one step-daughter, Kristi Perry, Bluff City; one step-son, Jeff Cross, Piney Flats; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and three brothers, Dudlus Dishner, Kingsport, Dean Dishner, Piney Flats, and Dexter Dishner, Bristol, Tennessee; one uncle; and several nieces and nephews.

Pauline H. Forrester
DAMASCUS -- Pauline H. Forrester, 83, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, in Cedar Lawn Convalescent Home, Abingdon.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va., and was the widow of Glenn Forrester.
She was a member of Damascus United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include one daughter, Neva Johnson, Damascus; one son, Bob Forrester, Damascus; three grandchildren; and two nieces.

Margaret M. Frye
SALTVILLE -- Mrs. Margaret "Mae" McGuire Frye, 83, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, in Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion.
She was a charter member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Saltville.
She was the widow of Lawrence "Pete" Frye.
Survivors include four daughters, Dottie Richardson, Piney Flats, Mickie Swartz, Bristol, Tennessee, Loretta Calloway and Patsy Allison, both of Saltville; one son, Lacy Frye, Glade Spring; one brother, Earnest McGuire, Grundy; two sisters, Edda Chapman, Danville, Va., and Ola Henderson, Chilhowie; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Frank D. Harris
Frank D. Harris, 40, of 4481 Walker Mountain Road, Bristol, Va., died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was employed by Reynolds Metals, was a graduate of Bristol, Tennessee High School and was a member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Tamera Lee Harris; his parents, Charlie and Betty Harris, Bristol, Tennessee; one sister, Mrs. Bill (Charlotte) Carty, Siler City, N.C., and several nieces and nephews.

Mary D. Holst
HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. -- Mary D. Holst, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, at her home.
She was a graduate of the University of Richmond and studied in Germany as a Fulbright Scholar. She worked for many years in Europe, South America and the United States as a systems analyst.
Most recently she was Senior Vice President of Comucomp International.
Survivors include her husband, Willem Holst; her mother, Carmie F. Davis; one sister, Ruth D. Clark; one niece and one nephew.
A memorial service was held Thursday in Hightstown.

Earline R. Jansen
BLUFF CITY -- Earline Rose Jansen, 59, of 412 Massengill Park Road, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 1997, at her daughter's residence in Jonesborough.
She was a native of Covington, Ky., and had lived in Bluff City for 26 years.
She attended St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bristol, Virginia.
She was employed by Holiday Inn, Bristol, Virginia for 19 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Marion Meyer, Jonesborough; her parents, Anthony Earl Boyers Sr., Bluff City, and Dorothy Ohmar Boyers, Bristol, Tennessee; one sister, Betty Smith, Ohio; one brother, Anthony Earl Boyers Jr., Ohio; three grandsons; one granddaughter; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
The body has been donated to the Quillen College of Medicine for medical research.

Jack W. Lowe Sr.
Jack William Lowe Sr., 83, of Bristol, Tennessee, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Bristol. He was the former owner of Lowe's Plumbing and Heating, worked for ten years with the city of Bristol, Virginia and for 20 years with Hayes Mechanical Contractors.
He was a former member of Shelby Masonic Lodge.
He was a member of Reynolds Memorial United Methodist church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy
Brown Lowe; one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Kay) Barker, Bristol, Virginia; two sons, Jack W. Lowe Jr., and Mack F. Lowe, both of Kingsport; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Helen) Thomas Jr., and Mrs. Raymond (Dorothy) Eller, both of Bristol, Virginia, Mrs. Bruno (Betty) Charest, New Hampshire; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

BIG STONE GAP -- Lee A. McCall, 59, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, in Lonesome Pine Hospital.
He was a native of Derby, Va., and had lived most of his life in Big Stone Gap.
He was a retired Inventory Supply Clerk with Westmoreland Coal Co. and Paramount Coal Co.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Stonega Masonic Lodge 209 AF&AM. He was a member of the Big Stone Gap Lions Club and a devoted patron of the Big Stone Gap Little League.
He was a member of the Mount Herman Presbyterian Church, Big Stone Gap.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie McCall; two sons,
Foster Taylor, Houston, Texas, and Timothy A. McCall, Big Stone Gap.; one daughter, Tracee J. Horton, Fort Bragg, N.C.; his mother, Estelle Washington, Big Stone Gap; two grandchildren; an aunt, uncle and several cousins.

SALTVILLE -- Mrs. Virginia Barnes Stanley, 79, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, at her home.
She was the widow of Sherman F. Stanley.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Stanley, Waseuka, Ill., and Sherman Stanley Jr., Saltville; one special grandson; two brothers, Dale Henderson and Paul Henderson, both of Elkhart, Ind.; two sisters, Mary Ruth Henderson, Abingdon and Ethel Wagner, Portsmouth, Va.; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
