Mrs. Ruth M. Stevens, 65, of 274 Emmett Road, Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, at her home.
She was of the Presbyterian faith.
She was the widow of Ceil Stevens.
Survivors include three daughters, Lila Lingerfelt and Darlene Taylor, both of Bristol, Tennessee, and Thelma Lingerfelt, Bluff City; eight sons, Nat Stevens, Noah Stevens, Johnny Stevens and Allen Stevens, all of Bristol, Tennessee and Kirk Stevens, Gordie Stevens and Carl Stevens, all of Bluff City, and Derl Stevens, Hickory, N.C.; two sisters, Elsie Potter, Bluff City, and Grace Sandefer, Houston, Texas; two brothers, Herbert Rosenbalm, Bluff City, and Noah Rosenbalm, Bristol, Tennessee; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

EAST STONE GAP -- Oscar Kelly Stidham Jr., 73, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of East Stone Gap and was a retired carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in France, Belgium and Germany.
Survivors include his wife, Uldeen Stidham; two sons, Gary Stidham, Marion, N.C., and Danny Stidham, Big Stone Gap; one daughter, Judy Standifer, Big Stone Gap; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- James Larry Thompson, 56, of 6626 Denver Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, in St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was a native of Wise, and a veteran of the U. S. Army.
He was retired from the Transmission Division of General Motor Corp.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Erwin, a Mason and a Shriner.
Survivors include two daughters, Tina Rae Killion, Carthage, Ind., and Dawn Rene Thompson, of the home; his mother, Jean Thompson Millsap; his step-father, Clyde Millsap, Bluff City; one brother, John White Thompson, Indianapolis; one step-sister, Cindy Hale, Bristol, Tennessee; one step-brother, David Millsap, Bluff City; and several cousins.

SALEM, Va. -- Robert H. Tickle Jr., 69, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Tickle; one son, Larry Dean Tickle, New Castle, Va.; two daughters, Diane Dixon and Dana Sue Garrett, both of Roanoke; one step-son; one step-daughter; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson.

He was a lifelong resident of Saltville, and was retired from the U.S. Gypsum Co.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Chapman Allison, Saltville; two daughters, Christine Bradley, Marietta, Ga. and Mary Pierce, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two brothers, Melvin F. Allison, Saltville, and Anthony Allison, Portsmouth, Va.; four sisters, Maxie Cannon and Corrina Woodward, both of High Point, N.C., Marie Hayden, Glade Spring, and Evelyn Hayden, Saltville; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

GATE CITY -- Zella Eldridge Berryman, 67, of Route 3, Cowans Branch Community, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, in the Brian Center in Weber City.
She was a native of Kentucky.
She had lived in Sandusky, Ohio, before moving to Gate City, where she lived with her daughter.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley Berryman; four daughters, Joyce Ball,
Johnson City, Deborah Peters, Mt. Carmel, Geraldine Peters, Gate City, and Valarie Case, Norwalk, Ohio; two sons, Garry Berryman, Mt. Carmel, and Larry Berryman, Bristol, Tennessee; six sisters, Jean Dix, Helen Blevins, Wilma Dot Lawson, Phillis Caldwell and Sue Caldwell, all of Sandusky, and Margaret Koch, Arizona; one brother, George Eldridge Jr., Sandusky; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Cecil H. Cagle, 87, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, in Bristol Nursing Home.
He was a lifelong resident of Bristol, Tennessee and was retired from Beecham-Massengill after 25 years of service.
He was a member of Euclid Avenue Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nanny
Jones Cagle.
Survivors include one sister, Hazel Mae Cagle, Bristol, Tennessee; one brother, Frank Cagle, Madison Heights, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was formerly of Pennington Gap, but had lived in Lynchburg, since 1989.

She was the widow of her first husband, Tommy Marsee.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Marsee Jr. and George Marsee, both of Dryden; two daughters, Paula Vaughn, Lynchburg, and Sheila Hobbs, Woodway, Va; one brother, the Rev. DUFFIELD -- Lida Johnston Ison, 93, of the Ridgecrest Manor, Duffield, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, in Lonesome Pine Hospital, Big Stone Gap.
She was the widow of William Garfield Ison.
She was a native of Dorchester, Va., and of the Norton area. She had lived in
Johnson City since 1955.
She was a member of First Christian Church in
Johnson City.
Survivors include two daughters, Anne I. Riggs, Big Stone Gap, and Violette I. Hensley, Norris, Tenn.; one son, Ronald Ison,
Johnson City; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

COEBURN -- Raymond Keith, 78, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, in Dickenson County Medical Center, Clintwood.
He was a retired truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He attended the Old Regular Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Mullins Keith.
Survivors include a son, Richard Keith, Clintwood; three daughters, Trudy Kelley, Clintwood, Diane Elam, Wise, and Connie Pennington, Coeburn; four sisters, Reba Kelly and Leota Viers, both of Wise, Ruby Ring, Coeburn, and Lucille Skeen, Baltimore, Md; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
