Everett B. Reeves
MARION -- Everett Bradley Reeves, 67, of Crescent Avenue, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He was a native of Smyth County and lived most of his life in the Marion area.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a cab driver for A&B Cab Co. for several years.
Survivors include two sons, James Reeves and John Reeves, both of Rockville, Md.; one daughter, Betty Vickers, Gaithersburg, Md.; four brothers, Alfred Reeves, Joe Reeves, Herbert Reeves and Carson Reeves, all of Marion; his fiancee, Rosie Mae Testerman, Marion; and his first wife, Mary Ellen Davis, Gaithersburg.
Barnett's Funeral Home, Marion, is in charge.

Faye M. Ritter
Faye McConnel Hurt Ritter, 76, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, in the Greystone Healthcare Center, Blountville.
She was a former resident of Welch, W.Va., and had been a resident of Washington County, Va., for the past 45 years.
She was the widow of Bramblette Shirl Ritter.
She was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Howard Ritter, Dan Ritter and David Ritter, all of Bristol; two daughters, Lois Ritter Perrigan and Patricia Ritter Cumbow, both of Bristol; three sisters, Ruby Marshall, Medina, Ohio, Maxie Jones, Gary, W.Va., and Hazel Kish, Thomasville, N.C.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Farris Funeral Service, Abingdon, is in charge.

Ashley Rouse
DAMASCUS -- Ashley Rouse, 14, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va., and a freshman at Holston High School.
She attended Washington County Technical School.
She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother, Betty Jo Rouse, Damascus; her father, Jackie Rouse, Damascus; two sisters, Tonya Rouse and Courtney Rouse, both of the home; her maternal grandfather, Roby Widener, Glade Spring; her paternal grandparents, Nell and Jack Rouse, Damascus; her maternal great-grandmother, Ruby Bailey, Newport News; her paternal great-grandmother, Victoria Owens, Mountain City; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Johnson Funeral Home, Damascus, is in charge.

Pearl B. Stanley
CLAREMONT, Va. -- Pearl Boggs Stanley, 92, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, at her son's home in Claremont.
She was a native of Darwin, Va., and was the widow of Dewey Bradford Stanley.
She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Carl (Polly S.) Miller, Spring Grove, Va.; two sons, Gerald W. Stanley, Claremont, Dayton V. Stanley, Bluff City; two sisters, Eura B. Powers, Darwin, and Lorene Boggs, Wise; one brother, Kearney Boggs, Wise; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mullins Funeral Home, Clintwood, is in charge.

Harry W. Stewart
MT. PROSPECT, Ill. -- Harry W. Stewart, 60, formerly of the Bristol, Tennessee area, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, at his home.
He was a native of Harr, Tenn.
He was an electrical engineer for 35 years in the Chicagoland area.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy M. Fuelling Stewart; two daughters, Lynn and Lisa Stewart; one brother, Everett Stewart, Virginia Beach, Va.; and one sister, Reba Anderson, Bristol, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held Monday and Tuesday in Mt. Prospect.
Matz Funeral Home, Mt. Prospect, is in charge.

Charlie Tester
HURLEY -- Charlie Tester, 78, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, in Pikeville Methodist Hospital, Pikeville, Ky.
He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County.
He was a member of Bethany Bible Church and was a retired coal miner and security guard.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edna Estep Tester, Hurley; four daughters, Frances Fry, Summersville, W.Va., Margaret Davis, Cincinnati, Ohio, Joyce Stalvey and Charlotte Bryant, both of Belleville, Fla.; three sons, Glenn Tester, Ocala, Fla., Randall Tester, Wilmington, Del., and Estil Tester, Hurley; two stepsons, Richard Duty and Randall Duty, both of Hurley; two brothers, Wayne Tester and Vernon Tester, both of Hurley; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Grundy Funeral Home is in charge.

Shirley J. Carr
BLUFF CITY -- Shirley J. Carr, 47, of 630 Shy-WA-MO Drive, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997, in Northside Hospital.
She was a native of Lexington, N.C., and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Carr; one daughter, Lori Carr McClain, Bristol, Tennessee; three sons, Stephen Carr, Richard Carr and Michael Carr, all of the home; one brother, Richard Pittman, Bluff City; one half-brother, Arnold Styles, Bluff City; three sisters, Thelma Carpenter, Elizabethton, Mary Weatherspoon, Bristol, Tennessee, and Anna Lee Trinkle, Bluff City; and one sister-in-law.
Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City Chapel, is in charge.

Buena V. Chambers
CEDAR BLUFF -- Buena "B. V." Vista Chambers, 82, of Edgewater Drive, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, in a Lebanon, Va., hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Patrick Chambers.
He was a native of Tazewell County, Va., a retired miner with Jewell Ridge Coal Corporation and owner of V.D. Chambers Coal Corporation.
He was a member of the Cross Roads Advent Christian Church, Raven Nest Branch. He was a member of Cedar Bluff Masonic Lodge No. 260.
Survivors include two sons, John Chambers, Cedar Bluff, and Larry T. Chambers, Crossville, Tenn.; one daughter, Linda Sue Rose, Silver Springs, Md.; one sister, Mrs. Nell Tolliver, Chillicothe, Ohio; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Singleton Funeral Service, Cedar Bluff, is in charge.

William E. Compton
COUNCIL, Va. -- William Edward Compton, 75, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997, at his home.
He was a native of Cinderella, W.Va., and had lived in the Council area most of his life.
He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church, Council. He was a graduate of Council High School and was a carpenter.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ilene Hale Compton; two sons, Glenn Edward Compton, Council, and Paul William Compton, Temple, Texas; one sister, Margaret Fletcher, Bristol, Tennessee; two brothers, Herman E. Compton, Council, and Eugene Compton, Dayton, Ohio; three grandsons; and one granddaughter.
Honaker Funeral Home is in charge.

Elmer G. Crouse
MARION -- Elmer Graham Crouse, 84, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He was a native of Smyth County.
He was retired from Union Carbide Corporation, Oak Ridge, Tenn., and formerly lived in the Farragut area of West Knoxville, Tenn.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Pedigo Crouse; one son, Bane Crouse Price, Layton, Utah; one daughter, Estelle Bluhm, Knoxville, Tenn.; three brothers, James W. Crouse and Arnold I. Crouse, both of Roanoke, and Algie G. Crouse, Marion; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Seaver- Brown Funeral Home is in charge.

Una B. Dickerson
Una B. Dickerson, 81, of 202 Nita St., Bristol, Tenn., died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Shady Valley and was the widow of Charles Dickerson.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Dickerson Faddis, Bristol, Virginia, and Linda Dickerson, Bristol, Tennessee; one grandson, Pvt. David Callahan, Bristol, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
