Herbert L. Haynes
GLADE SPRING - Herbert Lee "Herbie" Haynes, 55, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997.
Mr. Haynes was a member of Quarry United Methodist Church.
He was an employee of Bristol Compressors.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Haynes; three sons, Greg Hayes, Mechanicsville, Va., Bryan Haynes, Glade Spring, and Geoffrey Haynes, of the home; one stepson, Ross Henderson, Reno, Nev.; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. James W. "Jack" Haynes, Saltville; one brother, Tim Haynes, Saltville; four sisters, Eleanor Holmes, Linda Phipps, Teresa Dickens and Tammy Carter, all of Glade Spring; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
The D.R. Henderson Funeral Home is in charge.

Kathleen Lowe
HONAKER -- Mrs. Kathleen "Kate" Lowe, 81, of the Drill section of Route 2, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, in a Lebanon Hospital.
She was a native of Drill and had lived in the Drill community her entire life.
She was the widow of Clyde Perry Lowe.
Survivors include one son, Lloyd "Buster" Lowe, Drill; and one sister, Oma Sims, Crozet, Va.
Honaker Funeral Home, is in charge.

Ethel I. Maggard
NORTON -- Ethel Ison Maggard, 90, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, in St. Mary's Hospital.
She was the widow, Taylor Maggard.
She was of the Pentecostal Faith.
Survivors include two sons, Chester Maggard, Kingsport, and Clyde Maggard, McRoberts, Ky.; five daughters, Linda Robinson, Norton, Edith "Bonnie" Walter, Waynesboro, Pa., Mary Goolsby, Andover, Va., Vivian Boykins, Apache Junction, Ariz., and Faye Fultz, Esserville, Va.; two brothers, Bee Ison, Leatherwood, Ky., and Kelly Ison, Fla.; one sister, Margaret Huff, Lexington, Ky.; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Sturgill Funeral Home, Wise, is in charge.

Jacob D. Malone
BLUFF CITY -- Jacob D. (J.D.) Malone, 84, of 356 Tennessee Avenue, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997, in the Cambridge House Nursing Home, Bristol, Tenn.
He was a native of Bluff City.
Survivors include two brothers, Sam Malone, Bluff City, and Charles Malone, Bristol, Tennessee; one sister, Lucille Kaylor, Piney Flats; and several nieces and nephews.
Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City Chapel, is in charge.

Bertie M. Owens
HAYSI -- Bertie M. Owens, 95, of Route 2, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997, in Dickenson County Medical Center.
He was a native of Buchanan County and a retired coal miner.
He was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Owens; three daughters, Pearlie Fuller, Haysi, Dorothy Edwards and Stella Newberry, both of Clintwood; three sisters, Gertrude Mullins, Ada Ramey and Zell Looney, Breaks, Va.; one brother, Dempsey Owens, Breaks, Va.; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren. Haysi Funeral Home is in charge.

Jean B. Priode
WISE -- Jean Baker Priode, 61, of Azalea Drive, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, in Wise Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Norton, and served as the office nurse for the late Dr. Lewis K. Ingram for over 23 years.
Survivors include her husband, Lucian Priode Jr.; one daughter, Sherry Atwood, Coeburn; two sons, Jeff Baker, Wise, and Randall "Randy" Baker, Lynchburg; three stepchildren, Richard Priode, Richlands, Robert Priode, Hickory, N. C., and Christie Priode, Atlanta, Ga.; six brothers, Frank Clisso, Bill "Willy" Clisso and Hobert Clisso, all of Norton; Don Clisso, Wise, Clyde Clisso and Charles "Chuck" Clisso, both of Grand Rapids, Mich.; five sisters, Kathleen Roberts, Port Charlotte, Fla., Josie Crabtree, Charleston, W.Va., Faye Frazier, Marietta, Ga., Connie Day and Sharon Canalas, both of Wise; and seven grandchildren.

Frankie J. Rose
CLINTWOOD -- Frankie J. Rose, 66, of Route 2, Darwin Section, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997, at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County.
She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Rose; one son, Ronnie "Wildcat" Rose, Clintwood; three daughters, Patricia Lamberson, Janie Marshall and Karen Rose, all of Coeburn; four sisters, Pearlie Smith, Bristol, Murlie Mickles, Williamsburg, Va., Mae Barnett, El Paso, Texas, and Margaret June Mullins, Clintwood; two brothers, Franklin T. Mullins, Clintwood, and Fred Ray Mullins of Mooresburg, Tenn.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mullins Funeral Home is in charge.

Landon H. White
Landon H. "Punny" White, 80, of Bristol, Tennessee, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Blevins White.
He was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and retired from Enterprise Fabricators-Black Diamond.
He was a member of Belle Meadows Baptist Church.
Survivors include one foster daughter, Judy Booher, Bristol, Tennessee; one grandson, Richie Booher, Bristol, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge.

Ulyses H. Bandy
BANDY, Va. -- Ulyses Howard Bandy, 81, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, in a Richlands hospital.
He was a native of Tazewell County and was a retired coal miner with Consolidation Coal Company of Amonate. He was a member of UMWA Local No. 6633, Amonate.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Mildred Amy Asbury Bandy.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Tidwell Bandy; ten sons, Ulyses Gene Bandy, Christopher Mark Bandy and Billy Ray Bandy, all of the home, Daryl Bandy and Bogle Ray Bandy, both of Richmond, James Allen Bandy and Dwight Daniel Bandy, both of Matwan, W.Va., Thomas Bandy, Cedar Bluff, Harold Bandy, Bandy, and Wichard Bandy Barnett, Newton, N.C.; three daughters, Miss Loretta Bandy and Mrs. Patricia Maryland Taylor, both of Matwan, Miss Sheila Gail Bandy, of the home; three brothers, Bogle Bandy and Windum Bandy, both of Bandy, and Herman Bandy, Cedar Bluff; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Bec Barnett, Bandy; 25 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Singleton Funeral Service, Cedar Bluff, is in charge.

Wadie B. Beidleman
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Mrs. Wadie Beatress Beidleman, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, in Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was the widow of Charles F. Beidleman, and was a member of College Avenue Christian Church.
Survivors include three sons, David Beidleman, Bristol, Tennessee, Charles Beidleman and James Beidleman, both of Los Angeles; two daughters, Mrs. Omega Greene and Mrs. Alynn B. Wilson, both of Los Angeles; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Beidleman, Bristol, Tennessee and Mrs. Encil Cummings, Mount Holly, N.J.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held Thursday in Los Angeles.
Robinson Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.

William E. Brown
MARION -- William Eugene "Billy" Brown, 45, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He was of the Protestant Christian faith.
Survivors include his parents, William and Laura Grey Brown, Marion; two sisters, Wanda Breedlove and Mary Jett, both of Marion; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Seaver- Brown Funeral Service is in charge.
