Margaret B. Milam
Johnson CITY -- Mrs. Margaret Catherine Blevins Milam, 85, of Route 5, Jim Buck Road, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, in North Side Hospital.
She was a native of Marion, and had lived in Carter County since 1935.
She was a 1929 graduate of Damascus High School, Damascus, Va.
She was retired from the Carter County School System, having been a cook at Central Elementary School for a number of years.
She was an active member of Brick Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles T. Milam; two sons, J. Fred Milam, Johnson City, and Argil R. Milam, Chuckey; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Winters, Bristol, Tennessee; two brothers, James Blevins, Bristol, and Tom Blevins, Elizabethton; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, is in charge.

Thelma F. Mosley
WISE -- Thelma Faye Poteet Mosley, 80, died Monday, Jan. 27, 1997, in Norton Community Hospital.
She was the widow of Auburn Howard Mosley Sr.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son, Auburn Howard Mosley Jr., Wise; three daughters, twins, Ella Sue West and Mary Lou Thacker, both of Wise; and Shirley Blair, Lebanon; one sister, Nannie Bailey, Jonesville, Va.; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three nieces.
Sturgill Funeral Home, Wise, is in charge.

David S. Peoples
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- David Stuart Peoples, 80, of 2700 Bartram Road, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, at his home.
He was a native of Morristown and spent his early life in Tennessee.
He was a graduate of Tennessee High School and attended King College, both in Bristol, Tennessee.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and joined R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1947, retiring as Vice Chairman of R.J. Reynolds Industries in 1977.
He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Cook; one daughter, Signe Kyle Peoples, of the home; one son, David Stuart Peoples II, Winston-Salem; two grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Jane Peoples Celia and Miss Mary Ann Peoples, both of Bristol, Tennessee; two brothers, Jacob Hansel Peoples, Bristol, Tennessee, and Albert Wiley Peoples, Troy, Mich.
Burial will be in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Vogler and Sons Funeral Home is in charge.

John Queen
BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -- John Queen Jr., 72, of 1238 Larchmont Street, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, at his home.
He was a native of Scranton, Penn.
He was a member of the Berwind Masonic Lodge No. 141 AF&AM, Welch Commandery No. 27, Wyndham Chapter No. 45 RAM in Welch, and the Beni Kedem Temple, AAONMS, Charleston, WV.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Metal.
He was Division Superintendent for Consolidated Coal Company and Mine Superintendent for Island Creek Coal Company.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Bea McLain Queen; one son, John Larry Queen, Blacksburg, S.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Harry (Betty Jo) Smutzer, and Mrs. Kent (Katie) Pack, both of Spartansburg, S.C., and Miss Susie Queen, Bristol, Tennessee; one sister, Mrs. Janet Detamore, Harrisonburg, Va.; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Mercer Funeral Home, Bluefield, West Virginia, is in charge.

Raymond Ringley
Raymond Ringley, 79, of 2635 Everett Street, Bristol, Virginia, died Monday, Jan. 27, 1997, in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tenn.
He was a native of Washington County, Va., prior to moving to Bristol.
He was a retired painter and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Eula L. Ringley; one son, David Allen Ringley, Bristol; one daughter, Patsy Sue Smith, Bristol; two step-sons, Con Mason and Joe Mason, both of Bristol, Virginia; four step-daughters, Frances Willette, Bristol, Tennessee, Margie Hammett, Fla., Ruby Gillespie and Mary Hayes, both of Tazewell, Va.; one brother, Elmer Ringley, Bristol, Virginia; two grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and several step-great grandchildren.
Blevins Funeral Home is in charge.

Patsy S. Sprouse
ALTAVISTA, Va. -- Patsy Ruth Shelley Sprouse, 67, died Monday, Jan. 27, 1997, at her home.
She was a former resident of Russell County and a graduate of Dante Central School.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Sprouse; four daughters, Patsy S. Owen, Danville, Va., Joan S. Owen and Nancy L. Sprouse, both of Huddleston, and Cheryl Adkins, Altavista; one son, Kenneth A. Sprouse, Lynchburg; one sister, Virginia Franklin, Castlewood; one brother, Kenenth Shelley, Castlewood; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary M. Wright
Mary Maggie Wright, 91, of Bristol Health Care, Bristol, Va., died Monday, Jan. 27, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was the widow of Roy Homer Wright.
She was a native of Smyth County, Va., and had lived most of her life in the Bristol area.
She was a member of the Bradley Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Hurley, Bristol, Tennessee, Helen Hale, Forest Lake, Minn., and Margaret Guinn, Marion, N.C.; three sons, Wiley H. Wright and Donald P. Wright, both of Bristol, Virginia, and Paul S. Wright, Winchester, Va.; two half-sisters, Jane Wilson and Tressie Merrett, both of Bristol, Tennessee; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 46 great-great-grandchildren; nine great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge.

Henry E. Blevins
Henry E. "H.E." Blevins, 81, died Monday, Jan. 27, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Meadowview, Va., and had lived in the Bristol area most of his life.
He was founder of Blevins Tire and Recapping Company in Bristol, Virginia and Blevins Tire Company in Bristol, Tennessee.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a charter member of the Patton-Crosswhite VFW Post No. 6975.
He was a former member of Reynolds Memorial United Methodist Church and a current member of Wyndale United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Ann Moore Blevins; one son, Jack L. Blevins, Bristol, Virginia; one daughter, Mrs. Bob (Shirley) Mumpower, of Bristol, Virginia; three step-children, Sgt. Larry Moore, Abingdon, Va; Debbie Moore Horne, Abingdon, Va., and William E. "Billy" Moore, Bristol, Virginia; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.

Kyle S. Boardwine
Kyle S. Boardwine, 83, of Bristol, Virginia, died Monday, Jan. 27, 1997, in the Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Russell County and had lived in Washington County for several years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a former employee of Castle Homes in Bristol.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline N. Boardwine; two sons, Jimmy Boardwine, Atlanta, Ga., and Sammy Boardwine, Cincinnati, Ohio; three daughters, Virginia Galloway, Norcross, Ga., Glenna Bacchus, Calhoun, Ga., and Lorrene Tullo, Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Leah Mitchell and Anna Ruth Duty, both of Lebanon; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

James H. Burnside
MEADOWVIEW -- James H. Burnside, 78, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, in the Twin Maple Rest Home.
He was a native of West Virginia and had lived in Virginia for the past 25 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one sister, Ruby Roberts, Walkertown, N.C.; one nephew, James Ferguson, North Tazewell, Va.
There will be no service for Mr. Burnside.
Farris Funeral Service, Abingdon, is in charge.
