Attorney Bradford Fleming Johnson of Richmond departed this life peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 7, 2002. He was born in Richmond, Virginia on March 7, 1949, one of six brothers and sisters. He was predeceased by his mother, Mrs. Christie Gravely Johnson; and brother, Welton P. Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Hunt; four loving, devoted daughters, Mrs. Sydni J. Tripp (Arthur), Bradlee Alexis, Carlla Yvette and Aarronne Denise Johnson; three grandsons, Christian Arthur, Jonathan Miles and Aaron Joshua Tripp; father, Retired U.S. Army Major Samuel B. Johnson Jr.; one brother, George F. Johnson (Elaine); three sisters, Mrs. Lorraine J. Joyner (Melvin), Mrs. LaVerne Y. Johnson and Mrs. Laurette Cain Turner; mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary Hunt; one sister-in-law and her husband, Dr. and Mrs. Cornelius Cathcart; two brothers-in-law, Victor (Wanda) and James Gus Hunt; several uncles and aunts, Mr. and Mrs. George D. Johnson, Retired U.S. Navy Admiral and Mrs. Samuel L. Gravely Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gravely, Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Gravely, James and Ida Green, Charles and Chestine Green, Eleanor Ellis and Irene Hawkins; a host of nieces and nephews, Christie and Melanie Joyner, Lawrence E. Johnson III, April Pritchett, Christopher Johnson, Reginald, Ramon and Lafaun Cain, Jennifer and Jasmine Turner, Brittany Sanderson, Carlese, Stacey, Lee Ann and Fritzi Cathcart, Victor and Shavonne Hunt, James Brett and Iris Hunt; several devoted friends, Ms. Lynette Douglas, Robert Jones, Joshua Bey, Jesse Williams, Colonel George Sims, Dr. Harold T. Green Jr., Attorney David O. Prince, Attorney John Cobb and Attorney Michael R. Talbert. Mr. Johnson was a prominent personal injury and criminal defense trial lawyer with the Virginia State Bar Association. His remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 East Brookland Park Blvd., where the family will receive friends Tuesday, April 9 from 7 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 10 at 11 a.m. in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1209 N. 33rd Street. Mamie Ellis King departed this life April 4, 2002. She leaves to mourn one son, John King; one daughter-in-law, Shirley King; two nephews, Donald Coleman and Howard Jackson; five devoted nieces, Janice Churchwell, Lynda Coffey, Janne Pyndell, Diane Ratliff and Deborah Simmons; 13 great-nephews; eight great-nieces; a host of relatives and devoted friends. Her remains rest at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 N. Washington Hwy., Ashland, where the family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral service 1 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Mary M. Lipscomb, age 88, of Amelia, died on April 8, 2002. She is survived by son, John Manes; and daughters, Gladys Bennett and Torie Atkins all of Amelia, and Orena Lynn of Gastonia, N.C.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services Thursday 11 a.m. at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St., Amelia, with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. LITTLEFIELD
Lynwood Littlefield Jr. passed away April 6, 2002 at home. He is survived by his wife, Elva; four sons, Richard and his wife, Judy of Raleigh, N.C., Roger and his wife, Linda of Easton, Md., George of Montpelier, Jeffrey of Montpelier; one daughter, Linda of Ashland; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mr. Littlefield was a member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, Richmond. Mr. Littlefield was with the Coca Cola General Office, Richmond and The Country Club of Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1627 Monument Ave., Richmond, or the PTA, South Anna Elementary School Playground, c/o Debbie Agliano, 14168 Windmill Dr., Montpelier, Va. 23192. Graveside services and inurnment in Camden, Maine.

LOWERY
Helen B. Lowery, 67, of Richmond, died Sunday, April 7, 2002. She is survived by five children, Steven, Charlene, Catherine, Richard and Cynthia; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Jr. and Floyd Smith. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.

McGHEE
Barbara Baker McGhee, 76, of Richmond, Va., departed this life April 5, 2002. She was preceded in death by her son, William Burdell Baker Jr. of Boca Raton, Fla. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Smith and her husband, Brian of Richmond; granddaughters, Denys Harrington and Christine Nunnelley of Richmond; grandson, William B. Baker III of Palm Beach, Fla.; a great-granddaughter, Kayla Smith of Richmond; stepmother, Grace Harrington of Sacramento, Calif.; brother, Brent Harrington of Angels Camp, Calif.; two nieces and a nephew in California; also loving and devoted friend and caregiver, Charlene Pullen of Richmond. Her remains will be laid to rest in the Reuter family plot at River Bend Cemetery, Westerly, R.I.

MINOR
Departed this life April 7, 2002, Mr. Kenneth A. Minor, of 8256 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 North 25th Street. Funeral notice later.

NAFUS
Evelyn (Lyn) C. Nafus, 48, preceded in death by John A. Nafus, passed away quietly in home on April 7, 2002. She is survived by her mother, Helen D. Craig; a son, Bruce Craig; and daughter, Tammy Capps of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Dean E. Craig of Tennessee and Gary W. Craig of Texas; five grandchildren, who were loved dearly by their "Nana", Nolan, Jessica, Erica, Andrew and Zachary. Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at 2 p.m. at West End Alliance Church located at 3915 Francistowne Rd. In lieu of flowers, pleased make contributions to the church.

NATVIG
Margo Natvig, 69, of Richmond, widow of Dr. Ralph A. Natvig, died Monday, April 8, 2002. She is survived by a daughter, Kristin Natvig; and a son, Gregory Natvig. Funeral notice later.

PACE
Curtis Nelson Pace Sr. of Richmond departed this life April 5, 2002. He is survived by his three daughters, Jean and Linda Pace and Cynthia Pollard; one son, O'Conner Pace; two grandsons, four granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, four brothers and three sisters, two brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Robert Mealy Funeral Home, Goochland. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2 p.m. at Second Union Baptist Church, Goochland, Va. Rev. Donald Trent, pastor, officiating. Interment church cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 1:30 p.m.

PEDIGO
Harrell M. Pedigo Jr., 84, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 7, 2002 at his residence. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Johnnie A. Pedigo; sons, C. Thomas Pedigo and fiancee, Susan Wall, W. Terry Pedigo and his wife, Donna, Harrell M. Pedigo III and his wife, Fay and Curtis G. Pedigo and fiancee, Patsy Layne; sister, Ann Pease; and nine wonderful grandchildren. Mr. Pedigo was a Past Worshipful Master and 50-year member of Glen Allen Lodge No. 131, A.F.&A.M. He was the retired owner and operator of the Old Dominion Watch Company. The family will receive friends at the Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2002 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westhampton Memorial Park. The family suggests that contributions be made to Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church or the charity of your choice. PHILLIPS
Zack E. Phillips Sr., 83, of King William, Virginia, passed away on April 7, 2002. He retired from the C&O Railroad (now CSX) after 42 years of service. He was a member of Colosse Baptist Church, King William, and a former member of North Riverside Baptist Church, Newport News, Va. He was very active in coaching youth sports in his early years, and enjoyed hunting and baseball. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Charlotte E. Phillips; two daughters, Myra P. Day and her husband, Bill of Gales Ferry, Conn., and Charlene P. Barber and her husband, Lewis of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; and one son, Zach E. Phillips Jr. and his wife, Ellen of Newport News, Va., 11 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Clifford C. Phillips of Poquoson, Va.; and one sister, Geraldine P. Graham of Florence, S.C. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at B. W. White Funeral Home, 20408 King William Road, King William, Va. at 11 a.m. and a graveside service at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, Va. at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2002. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 9. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mattaponi Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. POWELL
Joseph C. Powell of Richmond departed this life Saturday, April 6, 2002. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral notice later.

REED
Charles L. Reed Sr. of Richmond, a native of Alderson, W.Va., departed this life Sunday, April 7, 2002. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Kenneth Reed; and is survived by two sons, Charles L. Reed Jr. and his wife, Bonnie and Larry W. Reed and his wife, Nancy of Dallas, Ga.; daughters, Kim Johnson of Richmond and Debbie Carter of Chester; sister, Kathleen Cousins of Matoaca; a devoted friend of many years, Diane Alton and her son, Chad; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Reed was a Navy veteran of WWII, where he was a member of the Sea Bees. After leaving the Navy he also proudly served his country in the Air Force. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment Maury Cemetery.

RIVERS
Gertie Boulden Rivers, 83, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 7, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin E. Rivers; and is survived by three daughters, Marie Council and her husband, Willard, Hazel Pleasant and her husband, Gene of Raleigh, N.C. and Sara Bond of Raleigh, N.C.; one son, Russell "Jack" Rivers and his wife, Karen; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Gertie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Virginia.

ROSS
Terry K. Ross Sr., 64, of Powhatan, died on April 8, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Linda Ross; four children, Terry Ross Jr. of Powhatan, April Ross of Mechanicsville, Larry Ross of Chester, Wanda Ross of Amelia; one sister, Carolyn Davis of Richmond; eight grandchildren, Sharlie, Tabitha, Aaron, Jeremy, Venson, Britteny, Michael, Kristi; and one great-grandchild, Kayla. Mr. Ross retired from Union Envelope and was presently employed with Central Marketing, Inc. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan, and where services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Dale Memorial Park.

SAMUELS
Emma Jane Moore Samuels, age 72, of Mechanicsville, died Sunday, April 7, 2002. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine S. and James E. Hall of Mechanicsville; a sister, Annie B. Cecil of Caroline County; four grandchildren. Remains rest at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, corner of Shady Grove Rd. and Rt. 301, where the family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, and where services will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park.

SINK
Kathleen E. Sink passed away April 6, 2002, at the age of 94. Known to many as "Mudder", she was a sweet and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who enjoyed a long and wonderful life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, W. Howard Sink and her daughter, Dorothy S. Smithers. She is survived by her grandchildren, Kimberly S. Wright, William S. Smithers III, Mary Margaret S. Kastleberg, Anne Howard S. Wiley; and 13 great-grandchildren, Gibby, Preston, Will, Kate, Dillon, Ward, Elizabeth, Marshall, Ross, Bridget, Gene, Thomas, and Henry. She is also survived by her son-in-law, William S. Smithers Jr.; her sister, Thelma P. Bateman; and her brother, Wiley H. Paitsell. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at 12 noon at Westhampton Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Monastery of the Visitation, 12221 Bienvenue Rd., Rockville, Va. 23146.
